  1. This month’s strawpoll can be found <here>. Remember, vote on the Pokémon you think will have the most impact upon the CAP metagame, and the 3 or 4 Pokémon with the most votes will be featured in our next monthly tournament. This poll will end Sunday, July 27th.
  2.
  3. Our Monthly Dark Horse Tournament will be on Sunday, July 27th, at around 6 P.M. Eastern Time in the CAP Project PS room. Remember, everyone entering must have at least one of this month’s weekly voted Dark Horses on their team(s) in order to participate. The voted Dark Horses are as follows: Blah, Blah, and Blah.
  4.
  5. The CAP Dark Horse Tournament
  6. Objective: To identify which unexplored Pokémon in the CAP metagame are lacing usage for good reason and which have the potential to actually be Dark Horses in ladder/tournament play.
  7.
  8. Overview/Rules: There are two stages of play within the CAP Dark Horse Tournament, and points will be rewarded to individuals who are successful at each stage. The point status will be gathered and listed in this thread, and the first player who earns 25 points will receive an in-game Pokémon for X/Y with perfect IVs. However, the true reward here is to help build and expand our knowledge of what is viable in the CAP meta!
  9.
  10. The first stage of play will be done at a daily level, in which two skilled volunteers in the CAP PS room will battle it out with a designated “mandatory” Pokémon—our candidate to become the next Dark Horse. Anyone is allowed to suggest what you want the mandatory Pokémon to be, but the decision ultimately rests of the day’s Battle Host, who will watch the battle and record the log. In the event of there being more than two volunteers, then the Battle Host may choose which two volunteers (with the aid of a randomized selector such as a dice command) will participate in the battle. A single user will not be able to participate in more than 2 consecutive daily battles, as this prevents the same person from hogging up all of the daily battles. Please, if you end up in a Dark Horse battle, do not quit early as full battles are much more helpful when it comes to collecting data about the day’s mandatory Pokémon. Sometime after the match is concluded, this thread’s battle log will be updated with a replay of the match and the winner will gain 1 point to their point total.
  11.
  12. For the second stage, on the last Sunday of every month there will be a Monthly Dark Horse Tournament. Anyone is allowed to participate, but everyone must use at least one of the chosen Dark Horses on their team. The chosen Dark Horses for the month will be decided in a public poll available the week prior to the tournament. Team switching is not allowed. The winner of the Monthly Dark Horse Tournament will receive 5 points to be added to their point total, whereas the runner-up will receive 2 points.
  13.
  14. This Thread: Within this thread, users are allowed to comment on battles found in the battle log, and to in general have conversations about how successful the mandatory Pokémon/Dark Horses actually are within the CAP metagame. Furthermore, suggestions for mandatory Pokémon at the daily level are allowed as long as you back up your post with solid reasoning. Please, do not suggest any Pokémon that have a viability ranking of C or higher in the Viability Thread, as these Pokémon have already been fairly explored/exposed to the metagame; suggesting Pokémon that do not have a viability rank for the CAP meta is preferred.
  15.
  16. However, this thread is not the place to cast votes for any monthly Dark Horse polls, as otherwise the things would become too cluttered. Instead, use the provided strawpoll link at the top of this post to cast votes when voting becomes available.
