  1. Application for the Crane Hermit by AshartheDragonGod
  2. The Ancients
  3. The sky was covered in brilliant stars, and the air soft and cool. As Basil crossed the desert he had taken to traveling at night. Not because the sun was too hot in the day, nor because it was cooler at night. No he had another reason and that reason was the stars. They guided him gave him strength in times of weariness. Why you may ask? Because Basil was a Makyo; a child of the stars under which he felt most at home. His journey was nearing its destination, his time under the starlit sky nearing its end. For he had found evidence of an ancient city of his people.
  4.
  5. Though it had taken him many weeks of scouring the desert he had finally done it. He had found the city of N’ar first city of his people upon the world. His discovery happened almost by accident as he trekked through the desert he fell into a ravine, during a harsh sandstorm. Though what he initial thought was his doom turned out to be his salvation. For deep within the crevices and caves of the ravine he found it. A small stone pillar written upon it in the old Makyo script was “N’ar jewel of our people” Basil knew what he must do, devoting his life to unearthing his peoples ancient city he was the first one to learn ancient techniques of his people.
  6.
  7. The first technique was called the Kikoho a Ki blast which focused all one’s life energy into a powerful blast. This blast was capable of leveling entire nations, in fact the city had a wealth of old tales. Many of which focused on its once skilled warriors conquest of Earth. The reliefs showed many great heroes rise to prominence from the use of the technique, sadly it also show great many villains. The one thing they had In common was that they all lead fast and brutal lives.
  8.
  9. The second was a beam which fired using efficient use of ones Ki to fire a precise beam from ones finger. The heroes depicted using this relief where those of the upper class, based on their elaborate armors. With the power of a small star at ones finger it is no wonder that those who mastered this technique went on to become listed among the greats. He learned many other things as he explored the city such as the history of his people, their origins, and the reasons behind their mysterious disappearance.

  11. These revelations changed Basil, no more was he the young idealistic martial artist. Now he was the inheritor of his people’s legacy a he would proudly shoulder. A legacy he would show the world, the time of the Makyo’s may have faded. Burning out as his people grew ever closer to the inevitable oblivion of being extinguished. Yet like any star the Makyos would have their last chance at greatness as Basil ignited the star of the Makyo. Sparking a Supernova giving the galaxy a sight at the brilliance of the Makyo for one last time before they faded.
