  1. Total number of mana points is equal to stat+(clvl*mod)
  2.
  3. Thus, a fifth level sorceror who operates off of CHA, with a total CHA score of 18, has 18+(5*4) mana points, for 38 mana points.
  4.
  5. All 0 level spells on appropriate list are automatically known and ready to cast for any spellcaster, costing 0 mana points.
  6.
  7. The base cost for a level 1 spell is 1 mana point. For each spell level beyond that, the cost increases by two. Thus, lv2 spells cost 3mp, lv3 cost 5 mp, lv4 cost 7 mp, etc.
  8.
  9. The cost of a metamagicked spell is equal to the base cost, plus the final level of the spell. Empowered Magic Missile, a level 1 spell, becomes an effectively level 3 spell. 1+3=4mp As another example, a Quickened Fireball is an effective level 7 spell, though normally level 3. 5+7=12 mp.
  10.
  11. A given spell that is not of the highest level the mage can cast may always have at least one metamagic spell applied to it. If multiple metamagicks are to be applied, however, the final effective level must not be higher than that which the mage can normally cast. Thus, a seventh level wizard capable of casting level four spells could cast a Maximized fireball, but not an Empowered Ice Storm, or a Maximized, Empowered Magic Missile.
  12.
  13. Casters who prepare their spells each day prepare spells as normal, but have no need to prepare metamagicked spells, or more than one of a single spell per day. They cast from their prepared spell list as a sorceror casts from his list of spells known.
  14.
  15. Spontaneous spellcasters get bonuses to their spells known as per bonus spells per day, according to their permanent modifier to their spellcasting stat. In addition, spontaneous casters with full spell progression, such as Sorcerors and Oracles, have two additional spells known of each level, beginning at the level they would normally first gain them. Thus, for example, a
  16.
  17. Alchemists prepare their normal number of extracts per day, but also receive mana points to make additional extracts throughout the day. This spell point total is calculated as normal, but then cut in half, rounding down but with a minimum of 1 spell point. An alchemist may create a new extract from these spell points as a full round action, subject to concentration checks in the same manner as casting a spell as a full round action. Thus, an 18th level Sorceror would know 3 level 9 spells, not including bonus spells.
