Chapter 0: World of letters
"...Although the 1980s fashion revival was not in full swing until 2004, the first movement

Such trends that emerged during this period included denim miniskirts, ripped "distressed" jeans, denim jackets, tracksuits, trench coats (often in pleather), puffy jackets (revived by Hip-Hop artists), and preppy polo shirts with popped collars.

Three small jumps were enough to get her off the magazine, She then turned around to the small red and black ball at her side, shaking her slowly with one extremity.
"Koa, Turn page, Please" she said, in a firm but kind voice. the ball, no bigger than a cherry tomato, extended the black membrane almost surrounding it.
Behind this membrane, revealed to be 2 pair of bat wings, sleepy red eyes stared back, with sheer happiness building deep inside.
No second command was needed. With a joyful "Koa!" the yukkuri took off the ground, and approached one of the sides of the magazine.She then proceeded to bite
with her mouth the current page and started moving her wings vigorously.
'That will take a while' , she trought. She took a sip out of the empty acorn filled of water at her side, leaving her a refreshing sensation in her mouth while she pondered what she had just read.
Fashion. As a yukkuri it was a little difficult to gasp at first like alot of things of human society, but it turned out to be a interesting -although mostly useless- read.
Yukkuris had their accesories, of course, but fashion evolved with time, while accesories don´t. She actually could understand why people would like to look different to others:
She didn´t like the idea of being a carbon copy of every patchouli out there, even if you could tell apart other yukkuris by smell.
The sudden change of the lightning of the cave stopped her line of trought. she took a look trough the small window -made out of a broken piece of glass protected by a few branches- up in the celling of her "room", only to find the sun getting blocked by clouds.
'great' ,she trought. could she risk to turn on the flashlight? she didn´t know how much would it last on, but she was sure that someday the batteries would die out.
and then what? the outskirts of the city werent safe anymore, not at least for Youmu while she carries her. And I doubt she would find it if she goes alone.
Koakuma was out of question, of course. she can bravely lift this page, let alone a battery.
Wait, what if we go together? koa surveying, while me and youmu stay behind... yes, that may work. I will definetly think about it
Just as she finished thinking this, a noise reached her ears from the entrance of the cave. One of the "walls" of the "room" was not made out of the enormous human literature
, but branches. trough the branches the entrance was visible. that allowed her to see the appearance of her 'little sister', a Reimu type. While patchi was older that her,
Reimu was a little bigger that Patchi. If we had a beisbol ball to make a comprassion, patchi could fit inside the ball ,altrough with no little trouble, while reimu would clearly be a little bigger that the ball itself. Was this a tradeoff for her inteligence?growing less? not like she cared much
"Sisteeeeeeeer!" said happily Reimu, while giving small jumps in my direction "Sisteeeeeeeer! come out and plaaaaaaaaaaay! play with reimu!". Upon getting closer, I said
"Careful with the shits on the ground"
"Sist...!" She tried to said, but the state of the floor upon further inspection made her stop on her tracks. the ground around my room was completely -and trougfully- surrounded
by yukkuri excrements.
"YU-YUPIII !" screamed reimu, looking clearly disgusted "Sis, did you do this!?"
I couldn´t help but sigh. We had this conversation yesterday.
"No, I didn´t do that. It was, as always, the shitheads"
It took a moment to reimu to realize who the shitheads were
"Patchi shouldn't call marisa and the reimus a shithead! that´s not easy!"
"If it smells like a shithead, acts like a shithead, looks like a shithead, and shits like a shithead, why can´t I call them that?"
because that´s not taking it easy!Patchi thinks too much!"
Patchi looked to reimu, tears forming around her eyes. The saddest thing about the whole oreal is that reimu was probably right.'you are just too much of a nice head, sister. but I´m okay with that'
You don´t like to see that sad face, so you try to calm her down
"You are right reimu, I shouldn´t worry too much. thank you" I said, a smile in my face
Reimu looked relieved to patchi, like Patchi had been saved from a pack of hungry remilia.
"Will Patchi play with reimu outside!?
Now, what should I do? maybe checking on the rest would be a good idea.

Chapter 1: Socializing time

Your sister´s eyes explode in happiness upon hearing you
"Really!?"
"Yes yes, give me a second. Koa! Follow me"
you move in the direction of the hatch that leads out of your room, unlock the anti-shithead safety device(AKA a stick blocking the door from the inside)
and push your body trough it. you find yourself on the entrance, completely surrounded bi fences. the smell isn´t nice, but you are accustomed at this point
your sister stares at you from th other site of the "fose", with a look in her eyes more similar to that of a princess watching her beloved one fight a dragon
that innocence awakes your childish nature, and you decide to play along
"Sister, have no Fear!" you scream suddenly, with a tone of determination in your voice. While stalked by your sudden change of actitude, your sister is completely captured by your act
you pick up fashionably the shovel that you leave at the entrance -hanging, away from the danger of soiling- for the exact purpose of cleaning your way out of this mess and put it in your mouth
"Fod shovel iz heer!" you announce triunfally. With no further warning, you run as fast as your legs alow you, making a path trough the dirt and shit accumulated.
However ,by the time you are by your sisters side, you are out of breath. you put aside the shovel on a post you made yourself just in time before you start coughing
"MUKYU! MUKYU!"
"Sister! are you alright!?"
"I will... manage"
Slowly but surely we made our way to the exit. grass started to appear in the previously naked dirt of the ground, and so they found themselves in front of a familiar sign
They were in the middle of a oak (at least that´s what one book said those types of trees were called) forest, which was not a dense one for human standards.the cave they have exited just now was just a rotten big treesituated in a really small hill. trees had around 3-5 meters of space between them, witch allowed light to enter the scenery.
The light only served to show the eerie atmosfere that dominates the forest: In the end of the autumn, the only sounds that pierced the place where the screams of happiness of the few innocent
-and stupid- kos that can´t quite gasp the situation our small colony was in.Predators where growing in number and abusers where starting to explore deeper into the small forest. Funnily enough, none of those problems where the worst part of the whole situation: Shitheads have been visiting the zone in the last 2 weeks, each of them causing some trouble. the worse incident has been going on since the last week: a Reibu and her "Hive"
had decided to make their home at mere metters, after she tried to claim our home as hers. even after deflecting her "troops", the sack of shit refuses to leave the victimity of our home, and incidents with the poor bastard that bears the title of "husband"
and their 12 Buris count as docens already. Winter is coming, and the last thing any of you wanted close was a Deibu. Seems like you really have bad luck.

You are just sitting there with your sister and koa,exchanging comments from time to time while watching the few present members of the colony do chores: Your father, a strong and big Marisa specimen, is looking for food near a tree, while one Buri watches her from a safe distance. your mother,a patchouli oversees the situation, not far from you
you tried to pick her attention from there just to greet her, but you realize she is probably planning some solution related to the problems you mentioned early. Patchi deeply respects and loves her mother, so she leaves her at her own bunisness for now.

Oh, I see. She is coming already. Good grief, losing her would be devastating, both emotionally and to the entire colony. I doubth there are many yukkuris out there half as competent as youmu is.

for convenience Patchi name this individuals (In the same order they opened those shit head mouths): Shithead 1, 2 and 3 respectively, although they are your adopted sisters, like reimu .Mother, as the head of the clan
took them in when they parents where brutally murdered and raped by an abuser and his Alice. Our colony has lost too much members to neglect even 3 yukkuris and you say yourself that as you get ready to deal with this pain in the ass.
2 and 3 are not actually really bad, they just repeat everything 1 says -even the "ze" part of the marisa types´s speech-. If 1 is not around, 2 puffs herself and covers her ayes with her balls of hair, and 3 acts as if patchi was another normal yukkuri
1 finally reaches you and your sister. Reimu starts getting really nervous, knowing that no-easy moments are coming. she will defend you if things come to worst, but, for now, she takes the diplomatic route
"t-take it easy sisters!" she says. Koa finally realices the mood and extends her wings from her position in my head, trying to make me and her look bigger
1 pauses, looks at you smuggily and starts to move her lips. you guess she has a super great, cool sounding prase on mind that will make you cry and suffer.
Or so she thinks
there are various courses of action here, but Patchi only wants the shitheads to leave her and her sister at peace for a while -or, as one magazine told you, to 'fuck off'-. you

"I can´t take it easy if Patchi is here! Patchi is uneasy and she should stay in mister cage!"
"Yez! stay in mister cage!"
"Yez yez! Patchi is uneasy!"
Marisa the shithead looks smugly at you with expectation, while her minions keep repeating parts of what she said
"stay in mister cage!"
"Can´t take it easy, ze!"
"Mister cage is uneasy!"
you interrupt the aimless rambling with a simple remark
"Oh, is that so?"
"Yes! Marisa is glad you understand!"
Your sister looks at you, not sure of what to do
"Patchi should hurry up and-"
"Sorry reimu, what were you saying before we got interrupted?"
"Yu...?!" 1, after being cut mid sentence, is confused. Why is uneasy Patchi looking at reimu while talking with Marisa?

Reimu altrough a little nervous, responds "...I-I was talking about when I found mister nice flower the other day. Mister cold made all mister flowers go sad, but this one was okay..."
Reimu looks nerviously from time to time to the perplexed Shithead, but still focuses mainly on Patchi.Shitheads 2 and 3 look confused at the turn of events, like they have just imagined the last 15 seconds.
"I see. you are really lucky to find a flower this days" I continued "What color was it? White, right?"
Remembering the flower seemed to cheer up reimu, and she stopped looking nervous
"Yes! Mister flower was really really white, like mister snow!"
"Hey..." Marisa tried to interrupt, anger showing out in her face after realizing where this was going "Stop ignring ma..."
"...But mister flower was not cold like mister snow! and it was smoooooth!"
But when reimu started to talk about something pretty, she was worryngly dificult to stop. this time, however, it worked In patchi´s favor
"Really? and where is mister flower now? can I see it?"
Reimu stopped, suddenly putting a sad face. Marisa was raging hard, looking the scene unfold. believing this was her moment of glory, she opened her mouth
"Uneasy reimus took it!" reimu continued, ruining Marisa the shithead´s mood once again
"No Sis! We didn´t!"
"Sis, We didn´t do it! Reimus are easy yukkuris!"
"Yuguuu....?" Marisa said ,outraged. Shithead 2 and 3 had been sucked completelly by the story, and now they were ignoring marisa too
"No little ones, not you! Mister Uneasy reimu´s little ones did it!"
Both wasas finally realized who her sister was talking about, and get closer to the three of us
"Oh! reimu understands now! ugly little ones are really uneasy"
"yes, uneasy!"
"Yes!" Reimu continued, not realizing Marisa was about to either explote in rage or cry like a ko "Uneasy little ones stealed mister flower! they are really Uneasy!"
"Uneasy!" Koa joins the conversation.She also had some incidents with that spawn of shitheads
The conversation quickly builds up. Patchi didn´t believe how well It have worked, but it did. You can finally take it easy with your non-annoying sisters and koa
"YUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!"
Or so you would have been if not for Marisa. The biggest yukkuri of all the present ones makes its way from her insolation, landing heavily at mere centimeters of killing her own sisters.Her face, no longer
showing a fraction of smugness, is contorned onto the personification of butthurtness.
"STOP IGNORING MARISA! STUPID PATCHI SHOULD LEAVE NOW EASY! YUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!"
The mood gets completely ruined, and everyone looks at marisa like she is a monster ready to kill them.
Your pacience is also at your limit too, and you condense your troughts (and probably similar to the ones of everyone present) into a humble request.

Chapter 3: Common enemy
"...It was deibu´s little one´s fault"
"Yu...?"
Both Marisa and your father look surprised. Father because he was expecting you to blame someone present, and your shithead sister
because he was expecting you to blame her
"those retarded buris stolen sister´s flower, and we got angry because of that. Right, reimu?"
Reimu, already calmed by father´s presence, joined your explanation "Y-Yes! reimu is sad because of that!"
"Yez! those little ones are at fault!"
"It´s all their fault Daddy!"
"Koa agrees!"
everyone played with Patchi´s little lie. Everyone except Marisa
Your father, still not sure if that was true or not, inquired "Little one, is what everyone say true?"
Marisa seemed at first conflicted, but a chance to blame others for her problems was just too good for her to pass
"Yes Daddy" She puffed "Marisa was angry because she was going to punish those uneasy reimus not to bully sister"
"I see" Father said, patting marisa´s head "little one is a good big sister, but don´t get into trouble with those yus. Daddy and Mommy will take care of that"
Incredible. After causing all this fuss, after starting everything herself, she still gained Father´s favor.
This was the better she could have done: Blaming marisa would have gained different conflicted reactions from her sisters,
and she couldn´t blame the 3 of them and expect everything to go well. Blaming herself would have directed father´s warth to herself for nothing.
It still pissed her off, but she would manage with that little frustration.
"Well well, there was a family reunion without Mommy knowing?"
your mother made her entrance while everyone was not paying attention it seems.
"Mommy!" said Reimu
"Patchi doesn´t need to worry" said Father "Little ones were..."
"I know. I was watching the whole time"
Oh crap. Was she going to said what it really happened?
She turned to you, and you expected the worse
"Small Patchi"
The moment you heard her calling you that, you felt 'a weight being lifted from your shoulders' as some humans said. 'small one' wasn´t a denomination commonly used in yukkuri vocabulary.
Usually, Yukkuri parents would call children "little ones" or by their type´s name. Your mother of course knew this, but she insisted in calling you by that uncommon name.
Was it because you where her only bioligical daughter? at first, you asumed that. But, over time, you discovered that it was something else:
Mother called you one simply because you felt a little outclassed along yukkuris. Some would argue that the worst thing you could do to someone that didn´t felt integrated was difference him more from the rest,
but mother knew better: There was no point in denying reality, so she embraced the fact that Patchi was awfully smart for a yukkuri, and threated her different for it, period.
Patchi was very grateful for that threatment, so she responded with no worries.
"Yes, mother?"
"Come with me" She started walking troward the cave, directing me to follow "we have to talk about something"
wasting no time, I quickly said goodbye to the rest and followed her.Reimu seems worried, but she probably took mother´s calling the wrong way.
I followed mother silently to a secluded zone of the cave, no conversation between us surfacing. Whatever she wanted to discuss, it was serious buisness.
we arrived to our destiny. a flipped wooden box made some kind of stage, and behind it,on a wall, a small piece of paper was held against the wall. Patchi knew very well what it was
"First off all..." Her mother said as she jumped on the box,back still facing Patchi
"Yes?"
"...small one did wonderfully out there"
"...!"
Your mother finally turned to face you, and she was proudly smiling at you. you didn´t quite get it
"Let´s recapitulate: when little Marisa got close to you, you could have made alot of things" She paused, closed her eyes and continued "However, anything remotely aggressive would have, at least at first, ended up badly for small one"
"Even if small one managed to 'defeat' marisa somehow, Little sisters wouldn't have been happy about it. Ignoring Marisa at first was the right thing to do"
You ponder what your mother said, and realize she is right: even if you made Marisa back off, reimu would be sad about it, the wasas would still side with her, and your father would blame you for sure
"However, that strategy burned out eventually" She continued "Marisa got angry, and you had to do something"
"Wait, weren´t you scared that marisa would hurt us?" you interrupted, curious
"I would have definitely interfered if things went wrong. Also Marisa is not such an Uneasy yukkuri. Not even when angry"
"More like shithead" you cursed under your breath
"That´s the human term" She clarified, perfectly hearing you despite your efforts "or at least, It´s the closest thing they have"
There was a sudden silence, your mother asking you with a stare if there was something else you wanted to say. You stayed silent, realizing that your second incision was out of place
Mother was really helpful and nice most of the time, but didn´t like to get interrupted without a good reason. At all.
"You decided to stand your ground, and that´s when your Father arrived. now, why do you thing your last choice was a great decision?"
I pondered a second, and responded the same I trought the moment after making that choice
"the other options would end up with more tensions between of us"
"you are right, but there was another factor about your decision that made more than that"
you are at a lost of words upon hearing that, and you inquire for an answer to that, clueless
"Is simple, really: you directed the hate of your sisters to a common enemy, an enemy of the whole campament altogether"
Oh, so that was it. Not only we werent fighting each other for this, we are united against someone else
"You did great. we are going to need that unity more than ever"
The tone of that afirmation puzzles you "What do you mean Mother?"
"Simple: we are leaving this place in three days, give or take"
"...!"
you are stunned. your mother expects you to do something upon this revelation. Time to choose:
A."Why?"
B."Where are we going?"

D."WHAT...!?"

Chapter 4: 3 days for the armaggedon
You take a deep breath to compose yourself before speaking
"...Where are we going?"
Your mother, once again, looks at you with approval "Good question small one. Patchi is ashamed to not be able to give you an direct answer"
"Mother, what do you mean by that?"
"I don´t know where we are going..."
again, awkward silence reigned in the cave. There was obviously more information left to be handed: The piece of paper behind her mother suggested that
"...and by that I mean that we haven´t decided the escape route yet" Mother concluded "we are simply leaving, because this place is no longer safe"
just after saying this, she moved to one side of the paper on the wall, allowing Patchi a clear view of it.
It was a map written on a human´s notebook´s page. Patchi wrote most of what the paper had right now during her adventures with Youmu. Aditional information had been added trough time, some of which Patchi had no visual confirmation of, only Mother´s.
Green, yellow, red, and black where used for friendly yukkuris, shitheads, predators and humans/human bulding respectively. crosses represented settlements, and the arrows represented 'movement', it´s length representing the amount/importance.
Two blue lines represented the river.In the center of the map, a green cross with a circle marked the place you were right now.
There was no indication of the scale of the map, but it took to youmu around 10-15 minutes to reach the small yellow cross near home (Deibu´s lair).
Patchi would have liked to re-make the map someday, but there was no time for that now.
"I´m going to explain everything right now, even if you know most of it" Mother started, taking a small straight branch that was resting on the wall to point out during the explanation.
"We are in the center of this mess, as you can see. we have been living here for a while, but is clear to Patchi that if we stay here we will perish sooner of later. this place..." She made a quick gesture to the surroundings of the big X "isn´t easy anymore"
The point of the branch rested now on the yellow line
"The shitheads have been expanding their territory for a while, but a few weeks ago the speed of this colonization has skyrocketed. the incident with deibu proves that" she made a line from the yellow cross to the yellow line. The distance was unnsetting at the very least.
"Furthermore, the yukkuri city sended a nitori trough the river with a message:'Uneasy yukkuris are coming!'"
The yukkuri city was the other big green cross in the map. Patchi, acording to her mother, was born there, but Patchi doesn´t have recolection of it. Mother told her about the city: hundreds of yukkuris lived there in a massive structure of houses and tunnels at the base of an enormous tree, and their camp had traded multiple times with them.Far upstream there was a colony of nitoris close to a human workshop.
When asked about why they didn´t live there, Mother simply responded that she and her father needed a rest from the city, but Patchi knows there is something more that what she is told about it.
"That message arrived 2 weeks ago, 1 week before uneasy deibu´s attack, and just in time for the other incidents"
you took your mother´s pause to interrupt "So that travel two weeks ago was to see what was going on"
Patchi, youmu, koa and her mother had tried to go to the city two weeks ago. Patchi´s excitement to finally see the city was demolished when a pack of rapist Alices appeared out of nowhere and made them retreat. the big yellow arrows crossing the big yellow line pointed to the zone where that incident happened
"Yes, I wanted to make sure everything was going alright there."
After ensuring Patchi didn´t have any more questions, she continued "of course, if this was the only problem we were having, we could retreat to the east. however..." your mother signed, annoyed by the situation. you took that moment to complete the sentence
"The Scarlet Devil Mansion"
Predator types -Patchi refers mosly to remilias: Flandres were, thankfully, rare- were powerful yukkuris: common types couldn´t hope to defeat a remilia of the same size as them, and they apparently didn´t die from loneliness like others. However, they weren´t as social as other types, and that acted as a balancer:
an entire family or camp could drive a lonely remilia away if they worked together, and packs of predators were rare and/or didn´t last long.
there was a characteristic about remilias that wasn´t that known by everyone trought: All remilias apparently claimed a place called 'The Scarlet Devil Mansion' as their posession. Up until now, even the few yukkuris that knew this didn´t pay any attention to it.
But everything changed one day. The predators, suddenly, started to work in organiced packs, commanded by someone. the different reports from survivors said that they all came from a red human mansion, altrough there is no visual wittnesses of the house alive to this date and its exact location is not confirmed.
 Since then, countless yukkuris had fallen prey of this group, and their domains keep expanding slowly but steadily
"...Yes, the Scarlet Devil Mansion. I was hoping they would start a war with those uneasy yus sooner or later, but if we stay here, we won´t live to see it"
now the branch pointed to the black line
"Last -and luckily least-, uneasy humans have been visiting the forest more often, and the easy ones in the houses have been leaving since the Factory´s accident"
The Factory was, back when it was working, a place where yukkuris were used for something. It had been destroyed far before Patchi was born by an explosion, and the ruins laid somewhere in the southwest ,mostly untoched
That´s all Patchi had been told about it, and all that her Mother admitted to know. She could tell that her mother knew more about the city that what she told her, but with the Factory she wasn´t sure about what to think.
"We don´t really have a clear objective,but North is said to be more easy that this place. the only problem is the river. We can´t cross it directly, so we have few options" Mother pointed out to the black bars crossing the river
"First, cross Predators´s territory and use the bridge"
now she pointed the city
"Second, visit the city and see what is going on, then try to cross the river with their help"
Mother lowers the branch and adds "we can also visit the few easy yukkuris left around. We still have a few days to decide, but the winter is getting close"
She finally falls silent. She wants to know what do you think so far.
A.Visiting the city seems the most solid plan
B.The bridge is a risky route, but at least we know it´s there
C.What about going through the human territory?
D.I need to investigate more about our options. give me 3 days

Chapter 5: scouting, day 1.
"I need more time to think about it" you say, not sure of how Mother will take it. she doesn´t interrupt you, so you asume that she spects an explanation
"While going to the city seems like the most solid one, me -and probably you- don´t have enough information right now about the routes to decide with conviction which one is the best" you make a brief pause, followed by a request "give me 3 days to investigate our options"
Mother closes her eyes in trought, deliverating on what you said and thinking of what action take. or so you asumed
"Small one is absolutely right. Patchi was going to give you those 3 days regardless of your answer, but Patchi is really glad you asked for them" She leaves the box, and after she reaches the ground, continues
"Youmu shall acompain small one in her investigation.you can borrow anyone from our camp anytime if needed too. Patchi will tell them to follow your requests"
Mother makes her way to the exit. before leaving, she makes one last remark
"Good luck small Patchi.You will need it"
Patchi is suddenly alone in the darkness of the cave. The sun outside was setting, and the voices of the rest of the group were getting closer. they would enter the cave in a few minutes, but patchi didn´t have time to talk.
She quickly made her way to her room and stronghold, and franatically started to look for whatever would be useful out there. Her mother had tasked her with a mission that would decide the fate of the entire camp, and Patchi didn´t have the slinglest intention to do anything but her best.

Patchi´s eyelids opened suddenly, like she had been awakened by a electric charge. she had managed to sleep right after the sunset, so when she checked outside it was still dark.
'good' she through 'every second of sunlight counts'
she poked koa, who was sleeping next to her, and made her way to all the things she had prepared for today
First of all, she took 2 empty acorns, their cabs firmly secured with a small thread.The main difference between the two was that one was marked with a tiny red line in une side, while the other´s mark was red. she untied both and checked the contents
Inside the red acorn there were small red pieces of some kind of vegetable. at the sight of that color, patchi stared at the big bulge inside a plastic human bag at the end of the room, and grimanced remembering the events that leaded her to its discovery.
'how much time has passed? 6 months? maybe more'
Back when she had the habit to explore the world around her more, she traveled at youmu´s back almost every day, looking for adventures and treasures, like the books that were with her now. She encountered a mother Marisa and her two childs happily checking the very same object that now was on the bag: a a green a branch with multiple red, large vegetables hanging from it.
they were calmer times, so she approached them with youmu without worry, and greeted them. Funnily enough, this probably could have saved the parent if she wasn't as dumb as a brick.
"You came to steal Marisa´s and little one´s food? Marisa doesn´t like that! go away easy! *Puf*". The little ones were to worried chewing one of the small red veggies to care.
and while Patchi tried to explain herself, it happened
"Yuu! Mister food is hot!"
"Id burnz!Id burnz!"
The kos were panting heavily,with their tongues out. Patchi can´t even remember if they were a reimu or a marisa: unimportant facts like those were overwitten for what it happened afterwards
"What happened little ones!? is mister vegetable too hard to chew!?" Said the mother, running in the aid of their childs and completely forgetting the two 'intruders'. She quickly shallowed one of those veggies whole, and started chewing it
"ij hurch-hurch!! Yu-gOAAAGH"
"Burnz... Yugoh... gah..."
The kos started to puke their own filling afterwards.The mother had gone silent since she started chewing the veggie, but she was vissibly redder that before
Patchi was terrified at that point. just before I could muster the courage to ask her what was wrong, she went berserk
"YUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUOOOOOOOOOOOOAGGGGGGGGGGH!!!!! ITH BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURNZ!!!!"
She started jumping and hitting everything, filling pouring from her own eyes. After rolling on the ground uncontrollably,the loving mother ended up squashing her own offspring in the process. some of the filling fell on patchi´s cheek, and that was enough to make her react
she ran. she ran for her own life, faster that ever, totally consumed by terror. youmu followed closely

Patchi didn´t dare to look back, but there was definitely an explosion. If you and her had not returned after calming down, Patchi would have dismissed it as part of her imagination.
The scene left afterwards was grotesque: the bodies of the kos, the filling everywhere... but there was something even more disturbing: the mother´s body´s upper half was symply gone, which probably explained the explosion earlier
They buried the family, the mother´s big hat on the top of a stick marking the place. As patchi loaded the red murderers on a plastic bag, she made sure to understand fully the events that had taken place that day
Since that day, patchi had dedicated alot of time to amount knowledge, so that she wouldn´t die out of pure ignorance. In her search, she had found so much information about the world, humans and, thankfully, yukkuris: this research had been going on for a good part of her small life, and she was proud of it.
'After all, knowledge is power' the sentence resonated in her mind as she closed the spicy vegetables, and she opened the second container
A mixt of yellow scrapings of different forms and sizes rested at the botton of the acorn. A strong smell accompanied them, and Patchi felt a feeling of sleepiness build up inside her.
Lemon scraps and lemon candy, which acted as anesthetics for yukkuris. she closed it and she hided both acorns inside her hat.
She made her way to the back to of the room, where the last parts of her expedition kit rested
One was a dirty black backpack, longer than patchi and obviously not empty. Patchi doesn´t know how a normal human would wear this, for a yukkuri of the size of youmu it made a perfect backpack, so that was how she called it anyways. It was already filled with enough food to feed her an youmu for an entire day.
Just at its side there was a enormous Marisa´s hat glued to a stick, with multiple treads making the whole thing keep itself folded. for this propuse, the enormous brim had 4 cuts, with 4 threads fixed to each sub-brim.The outside was covered with black trash bags, to make it impermeable. While it isn´t a perfect umbrella, against water a couple of minutes is the difference between life and death.
Finally, multiple accessories of different species rest in one corner. After patchi had discovered how important this things really were, she had started collecting whatever she could find in the wind. She has, however, mixed feelings about this activity: each and every one of those silly pieces of cloth represented a yu´s life. They aren´t toys, that´s for sure.

Chapter 6:the passage
...The shithead territory takes priority. If things go well, they would be able to reach the city, where more friendly yukkuri, who would help them out.
...wait, now that I think about it, that´s weird: Why are shitheads and niceheads separated in that way? did they form their own tribes based on their behavior? well, she can ask them when they get there.
She exited her room, followed by koa, and crossed the path she made yesterday along the shit pit. strangely enough, her shithead sisters didn´t fill the path with new "presents". In less that a minute of mid-pace jumping, she was in the communal sleeping zone.
all the members of the camp were there, still sleeping on a pile of leaves: Father and her sisters were snuggled closely, with mother not far away at their right. Seeing them like this made her feel a little lonely, but it was for the best.Also, she didn´t came here to bother any of them.
at mother´s right side there was another yukkuri: white hair and a black ribbon were some of her characteristics, but if she had to name one single fact that defined this yu, it would be the rusted pocket knife resting at her side.
"Youmu" she called, taking care in not awakening the rest. her mother would explain her absence when they wake up. The yukkuri moved slightly, and muted something half-asleep
"Dick..."
"Youmu, I need you" patchi repeated, in a more serious tone "please w..."
"Myon~"
Without trace of the previously showed sleepness, youmu opened her eyes slightly, and picked up the knife with a fluid motion. Patchi directed her to follow without making a sound, and she complied flawlessly
Youmu was, to put it in a very simple matter, the main weapon of the camp: she was "only" 3 times bigger than patchi -youmu was still smaller that her mother and ,of course, her father- but that mattered little. The skill youmu had with bladed weapons and speed was all that youmu needed.
she was also very loyal to her mother, and would follow any order she would impose to her. they seem to know each other for quite a bit, probably from Mother´s time in the city. However asking them about it would be fruitless, for you didn't say anything besides "dick" and "myon".
they arrived to one of the walls made out of books of her room. one of them had a small thread tied to the upper part of the book. after cleaning the ground in front of it (of course patchi wasn't going to allow one of her books to get stained) youmu grabbed the thread, and bringing it down with a strong pull. after youmu lightened the fall with her body and layed the book down slowly, patchi spoke
"We are going on an adventure youmu. come here, I will help you with the backpack"
"Myon~" youmu said happily. she both enjoyed traveling together trough the forest, and it have been ages since the last time.
In 5 minutes the three of them were ready to go. after closing the door/book, they headed to the exit of the cave, covered with barbed wire and branches.

1 hour later they were deep into shithead territory, just above the straight passage to the city. the sun was rising, yet no shitheads were on sight... yet. While you trusted youmu´s skills, there was no need to encounter the enemy to confirm how safe this place was, so you would symply observe the traffic on the zone. It took patchi 2 minutes of scouting the zone to find a suitable place: a bush with a fallen tree on it. the position allowed you both cover and a good visibility of your surroundings. after directing youmu to bring some leaves to use as camouflage and fold the umbrella, you are ready for a long sesion of spying
And the first event happens almost immediately after you cover up.
"Alice is patrolling easy!hehehe"
"e-easy!"
one alice, big as a basketball ball and with her penni penni fully erect passes closely to patchi´s hiding place, escorted by two smaller reimus, clearly nervous around their "friend". they dissapear as fast as they arrived, leaving patchi really worried
'Oh crap' she thinks 'not only that one was really close, but they seem clearly organized. if this is as bad as it seems, we are doomed'.
after 10 minutes trough, patchi´s fear is replazed with boredom. She quickly has an idea
"Koa"
"yu!?" the small yukkuri, still scared about the alices, reacts abruptly
patchi looks around until her stare stops on a branch with a brown leave, clearly about to fall
"hit that leave, look around and come back"
Koakuma, after realizing that was a task, she happily complied
two hours followed with patchi trying to teach koa how to spot enemies.Koa struggled at first with the complex orders, but after a while she seemed to get the hang of it.
After tasking koa to fly in circles around them trying to spot an enemy for 10 minutes, the yukkuri came back alarmed
"yu! yu! alert!" she hided herself under patchi´s hair
"what is it?"
"yukkuris! they're coming!" she said more calmed, not before patchi head patted her a couple of times. she then pointed with her right wing into what patchi assumed was deeper into shithead´s territory.
"any more details?" she inquired. at that, koa stared to the ground and looked like she was about to cry
"sssh easy, you did well. you are really easy koa" she patted her again to cheer her up.The poor thing probably was really excited about spotting some yukkuris and alerting patchi, but patchi pushed her to see how much she had learned. Maybe she was too exigent sometimes? she caressed koa more, until she slowly started to close her eyes
"Happiness..."
"Yes, you can sleep koa.patchi is really proud of you"
After that koa started to breathe slowly, clearly asleep.
'God, I´m an idiot' she finally realized. of course that she would be tired after so much flying and tasking you smartass. she had been too concentrated into teaching her without worrying about her well-being.seems like I´m only good at reading books and nothi-

Of course, the yukkuris. Patchi spotted a group of kos heading this way. Marisas, reimus, alices... they were about 20 of them
as they got closer, their voices got louder
"Midter treazure! Midter treazure!"

they seemed... normal. were there more niceheads on shithead territory? how? so many had been exterminated. And if the ko´s are from the shitheads, does that mean that they are not all shitheads after all?

Chapter 7:the passage(conclusions)
'...too risky. I should just observe'
"Midter treazure, whed are you?" The alice went into the bush, leaving patchi´s vision. the sound of leaves getting crushed joined the voices of the other kos
"Midter treazure, come out eajy! alize iz a really eajy yukkuri why do you hidhe?"
suddenly, something hitted the ground, followed by silence
"Yuuuu...." the alice said in a tone that implied she was about to cry
"YYOUAAAAAAAAH! STUBID TREAZURE! IZ YOUR FAULD! YUAAAAAAAAAAAAA" she ran back with the rest of the group, leaving a small trait of filling on her escape. Apparently she tripped on something.
"What happened little ones?" said a voice,  surprising patchi. A reimu, a little smaller that youmu appeared from behind a rock. the alice went directly to her.
"Alize iz hurt-hurt!"
"easy easy! reimu will do lick lick to you" then she started to lick the wound. she stopped a moment to ask something patchi couldn´t heard from her hiding place, only for other new voice to join the group
"What happened? do you want to make marisa mad by screaming ze?!"
A big marisa joined the group, holding her hat in a smug fashion. all the yukkuris present seemed to freeze in place when she came into scene
"yuu.."
"uneasy maricha..."
"Did stupid little ones find any mister treasure? right now is fine" stared in the general direction of the kos, and continued "those who can´t find mister treasure will not have sweet sweets! Dosu can´t waste food on stupid little ones who can´t find nothing!"
"Mommwy..." said the alice from before
"Your mother is not going to help you, stupid one! you are here because she was stupid enough to die! wanna die too, ze?"
the little ko shielded herself behind the small reimu, who intervened afterwards
"this zone... doesn´t have lots of mister treasure... we need to move if mister dosu wants her mister treasures" Her voice came mechanically, like she was about to explote. the marisa didn´t seem to care
"Little one understands! Marisa likes to see you are not that stupid! lets go!"
the group leaved the scene, and patchi took a better look to the kos: they were dirty, and didn´t seem in the best shape.
patchi reached to some conclusions after 5 minutes of thinking:
-the path wasn´t overwhelmed by shitheads, but it was obviously vigiled. at the speed our camp would move, various encounters were expected
-we didn´t have enough firepower to steamroll those 'patrols': maybe youmu can kill 3 of those yus, but how many would visit them once they were deeper into the forest?
-the shitheads had some kind of hierarchy, and those kos seemed to be at the botton of it. the comments of the marisa suggest they are orphans, and they are used apparently as slaves. Also, some of them didn´t seem like shitheads.
-Dosu would be a pain in the ass. she just fucking knew it.
Patchi decides this could be a good time to leave and do other things:there are many things to check on other territories, even if she was more inclined to take this path.However, The option to stay was still there.

Chapter 8: those who have fangs
We need more information about the The other factions, even if the city seems like the most reliable option. And we have started the day with yukkuris, lets end it with yukkuris.
After waiting around 5 minutes just to be sure no-one was coming, Patchi ordered youmu to move.

It took them 2 hours to cross the distance between the point were they were to the predator territory. of course, this speed just wasn´t possible with the rest of the camp with us. The kos, and probably my mother,will need to rest from time to time, even at a slow pace.If you add to that that they would be carrying -and weighed down by- at least food and some personal objects, they would probably waste a day or even two if they took the path to the city, and probably more if they tried to reach the bridge.
The forest was silent. that was each day more common, but this was different: The air felt heavy, and the general atmosphere was even more uncomfortable than usually. Patchi and youmu wandered trough the forest for arround 10 minutes, covering themselves with trees as they advanced. Sound suddenly pierced the silence of the place. A sound patchi didn´t remember hearing anywhere before, yet that somehow sended a gnosedump trought her whole body like she had fallen on a floor covered in snow
the flaping of multiple wings, approaching at dangerous speed
"youmu! cover!" there was not time to be more specific nor did she need to.
"Di-ck!"
youmu understood perfectly the situation, and immediately found a small hole near the base of a tree. while patchi quickly fold the umbrella, youmu covered themselves quickly with leaves and dirt
'Please for the love of God work' patchi prayed as the last leave covered them. fighting various remilias in their territory would be suicidal, so their only chance was stay hidden and hope that it worked.
the sound came closer, and closer, and closer, and the robe around patchi´s "neck" got tighter and tighter. 20 seconds after first hearing it, it stopped getting closer, and voices joined a more tame version of the death song
patchi couldn´t make out much of what it was being said
'it stopped getting closer and now is less frenetic...' after a moment patchi realized what that meant 'they are just maintaining their position on the air'
"...U~!" said a voice -a remilia, patchi assumed- in an agonizing tone
"...uneas...die, uu!"
"...Rem...followe..."something hit the ground with violence not far from where patchi was hiding. She had her eyes closed, trying to forget the fact that she was at one misstep of being eated alive.
"Uu! stupid fatty remilia can die easy! Remi will take it easy without being a slave!" the voice in pain now was really close. was she what impacted before on the ground?
"Great, begone easy! remilia doesn't want stupid yus that won´t know their place! Uu!" the other voices had gotten closer too
"Uu! remi will come back one day, and you will regret this easy!" whoever was saying this, seemed to be younger that the other voices."remi will find flan! now is fine! and remilia will cry easy!"
"ugh! how you dare to ment...!"
"uu...?"
the sudden silence confused patchi at first, but a sudden wetness on patchi´s head clarified it
"uu! rain is uneasy, but this only bad for stupid remi! die easy!"
"die easy!" said a group of similar voices al unison. the flapping sound started to fade away immediately after, and patchi was left alone with the sound of rain intensifying by moments, and the weeping of the abandoned remilia(?)
If there was not rain, patchi would wait for the yukkuri to leave, but the rain was starting to get intense, and she would not last long with the umbrella folded. A plan formed in the Yukkuri´s head, and with time running against her, she decided to go along with it.
patchi grabbed the umbrella without moving the leafs around her, and after a deep breath preparing herself for the worse, she shouted the order
"YOUMU, CHARGE!!!"
"DIIIIIIIIIIIICK!!"
"Uu!?"
A surprise entry would be their best chance to get out of there alive. Just after the sudden movement of youmu jumping from their hiding place , patchi positioned the umbrella ,unfolded it, and covered both herself and youmu from the rain.
"FACE THE ENEMY!!"
"DIIIIIIIIIIIICK!!"
youmu stopped her charge and turned violently at the enemy -who was behind them at the moment- and pointed her weapon, ready to strike.
'I can´t die here. Not yet'.She was terrified, she wanted to run like when that family died in front of her, but running not always solved things. if the remilia was fast enough running will be the last thing they would do. Now patchi was 100% sure behind them was the general direction of her home, and that their enemy was neither too close nor too far from them. they were in a good position for both attacking or escaping if needed, and the enemy was alone, wounded ,surprised, intimidated and about to melt if this lasted more that 5 minutes.
With the determination of live to see the next day, patchi stared at the enemy to decide the next move.
And what she saw changed her mood dramatically
at around 30 centimeters from the hole from they were hiding and one meter from their hiding place, was a yukkuri remilia bigger that patchi, but patchi had trouble identifying it as a remilia: her complement was gone, her wings were nowhere to be seen, and she was dirty, covered in cuts, and seemed to be starving.She was looking at patchi and youmu like they were some demon who was about to take her soul.
The rain continued to fall at a fast pace, while the two factions faced each other. This was her first 'battle' against a predator, yet patchi, after fully realizing the situation felt little to no treat from the miserable thing that was in front of her. youmu would just impale her with minimal effort, and they would be done. Or they could run, and the yukkuri wouldn´t be able to catch up with them even if she wanted.
But you have to decide: fight or run? those were the only options your mind registered when you ordered youmu to charge, risking your lifes. Or there was another option? :

Patchi looks at the yukkuri in front of her: she is a remilia, there is no doubt. Were she to survive this day somehow without help, and she would be another danger in her way to leave this place, so killing her was a logical choice. She could leave and forget about her, and that would be probably fine too, because the path to the bridge seemed like an deathtrap, one more remilia alive or not.From all the three choices, taking care of this yu was probably the most risky of all

Sure, if she survived the journey and the treatment, AND if she didn´t attack her immediately afterwards she would have a good weapon against other yukkuris, but what were the odds against that?

youmu´s body against the water already accumulated on the ground added another odd against her: were they going to survive against this rain? the umbrella wouldn't last long against this rain.

'seriously, what the hell I am thinking?'. this seems like a really stupid choice in this situation. She started looking for something in the backpack while youmu continued to approach the yukkuri

But... I can´t help but feel that way when I look at this creature. This world is cruel, and sometimes you have to be that cruel to survive. Patchi understands that much. Shitheads usually survived longer that niceheads for a good reason, and patchi was knew that the day would come were the choices to survive and the choices of being a nicehead wouldn´t match up. That day, Patchi will have to choose between living on, carrying the sins of that day or dying with a clear conscience
But not today. Today patchi is saving a life, and she´s going to live trough it
they were at mere centimeters of the remi. There wasn't time for presentations
"Here" patchi throwed in front of youmu the thing that she had prepared beforehand.
The remilia stared at patchi, then tho the umbrella, and then to youmu, with a confused expresion. Patchi tried to make herself more clear
"Eat that, you will die otherwise"
the remilia diverted her attention to the big bug that was at youmu´s fit. it took her a moment to identify it as the food that patchi was referring to
"Uu..! Uu...!" she crossed the distance between youmu and her with slow and sluggish movement. after taking a tentative bite to the thing (probably something unknown for a remilia) her mind seemed to catch up with the state of her body. She devoured the whole thing in no time
"Happiness...!"
"You must be tired" added patchi as remi´s eyes started to close almost immediately after eating the thing. The lemon candy inside it worked like a charm
"uu... remi is tired..."
"then sleep easy, remi".there was no response.
"Youmu, lift her up here, quickly!" patchi finally showed some worry in her voice: the umbrella was showing sights of breaking, and youmu´s feet were probably soaking wet.
"Dammit...!"
"Koa will help easy!" said a voice next to patchi
It was koa this time. She had probably been awake since patchi ordered youmu to charge. she started to support while flying one of the umbrella´s sub-brims, which was about to collapse
"thanks koa!, youmu" patchi paused and, after making sure remi wouldn´t fall from youmu´s back, she continued "Get us under some cover, quickly!"
"DI-ICK!!!"
the rain seemed to have no end, and the leafless trees offered little to no cover, but patchy wouldn´t give up so easily. The sky thundered, as if taking the little creamed ball´s challenge.

Patchi looked at the rests of her faithful umbrella as she prepared herself to sleep. the tool lasted longer that she had hoped, but not even that was enough.the stick had black pieces of cloth and plastic all along its length, with a jumble of the same material on the ground in front of it. they have managed to find some cover before the thing collapsed. after half an hour of waiting while force-feeding the remilia little bugs, the skies cleared, and they returned home.
It was almost dark when the group arrived to the cave. everyone seemed really worried, but her faces of relieve changed when they spotted a complementless yukkuri
The wasas and my shithead sister started to growl like mad dogs, wanting to tear appart the injured remilia. her litte sister seemed confused both at the sight of the yukkuri, and her family´s reaction. Father told patchi to 'get away from that uneasy yukkuri!, now is fine easy!', while looking like he was about to ram remi and youmu with his body. Mother seemed concerned, probably reconizing the type, but waited for your explanation
"She needs medical attention now. I feeded her and anesthetized her, but she wi..."
"little one come here so uneasy yukkui can die easy!"
"Yuuu! Patchi must listen to daddy! leave that yukkuri to us easy, ze!"
"yes, ze!"
"yes, yes, ze!"
"...everyone, t-ake it easy! now is fine!"
Patchi was overwhelmed by more nonsense and rage from most of her family. Luckily for her, there was a voice of reason along them
"Understood. We will make space on little one´s room to ensure little one´s guest´s safety, but... be sure to ensure patchi´s too"
"...!"
And so, here we are. Mother holded them down while youmu and I entered my room and did our best to heal the remilia.the shit pit did a great job afterwards at putting her sisters at bay.
It was my first time dealing with injury´s of such a magnitude: patchi used wet leaves and orange scrapings (she didn't have orange juice) to make a 'healing patch' of unknown effectiveness. she also feed her some orange and lemon scrapings so that she could sleep soundly all the night.
'...but... be sure to ensure patchi´s too'
Mother´s words were a clear advise that patchi would take. After healing the remilia, youmu made in a corner a small bed surrounded by some spare sticks, making an improvised prison cell. Just as an extra safety measure, youmu would sleep with patchi and koakuma tonight.
"Patchi... will mister yukkuri be able to take it easy?" asked koa in a worried tone

First of all, she finally understood why the remilia seemed so confused when she first met: she was confused by the number of accesories. she couldn´t understand what yukkuri was talking when patchi speaked, because the big marisa´s hat over the group.
Second, Some yukkuris seemed to not be affected by the lack of accessory of other yukkuris, or there were some method patchi wasn´t aware of. neither youmu nor koa had attacked the remilia on sight, why? she wasn´t sure. she was sure, however, that it was not the norm.
Third and last, the path to the bridge was still an option even after this day, or at least patchi hoped. If accesories really had this effect, they could 'turn' themselves into other yukkuri´s by putting different accesories. and what yukkuris did have immunity over remilia? Sakuya types. even if they were naturally treated as slaves, they weren´t in danger of being eaten by remilias, and this could cross their territory without trouble... in theory. the only way of knowing would be more testing.
and so, the first day ends. Patchi gos to sleep really satisfied with her work today, specially after saving a life.

Second day arrives. Remilia is still sleeping, but she looks better that yesterday.
your Mother is awake this time.After a report of yesterday´s events, she seems pleased with her little one´s progress. Mother tells patchi that she will talk with patchi when she comes back today, and that she will take care of the 'guest' on your absence. She seems to trust your judgement on saving the remilia, but she will probably want an explanation anyways.
after feeding her some more food and telling your mother to look after her, the trio was ready to leave.
What would be the best course of action now? visiting the human territory? take actions against Deibu? Maybe visiting some yukkuris settlements nearly and check if someone was still there isn´t a bad idea. Patchi pondered all her options

Chapter 10: Morning on the hospital
Maybe staying isn´t a bad idea? there is still time to make sure everything was alright.
"What´s the matter little one?" asked mother when I came back from the gate
"I think we will stay some time here today"
"myon~"
"yes! taking it easy!"
youmu and koa seemed to be okay with it: after all, yesterday´s adventure had been a little rough for everyone.
"Is that so?" she asked, curious "If little one thinks is the best thing to do, Patchi doesn´t mind"
Your sisters don´t seem to be awake yet. after all, the dawn has yet to come and you were ready to leave 5 minutes ago. you decide to join your mother on the nursing of the remilia until your sisters wake up
Patchi´s room was quite crowded today with 5 yukkuris inside
"what do you think mother, will she make it?"
"mmmh..." After pulling apart some of the sticks surrounding the remilia, Your mother used her long hair to gently palpate the whole surface of the sleeping yu without waking her up. her "hands" stopped in her back for a second.
Patchi waited patiently -altrough worried- while her mother closed her eyes to think about what to answer. After all, patchi didn´t risk her life, youmu´s, and koa´s for this remilia to die here.
"Actually..." Her mother finally spoke, catching all of the present yukkuri´s attention "remilia will be in top condition by tomorrow´s morning"
"Mukyu...?!"
Patchi unconsciously said her type´s trademark word upon the surprising news. an image of the predator´s condition when she first met her popped in her mind, trying to comprehend how could be possible to totally recover from that in two nights
"remilia? mister yu can´t take it easy?" koa seemed confused upon hearing the name of the feared predator type. The lack of accesory made her tone curious rather that scared. Youmu, in the meanwhile, had decided to examine the remilia by herself, apparently not interested in the explanation that was about to take place
"We will see koa, we will see" patchi patted the small yukkuri on the head, and urged her mother to continue
"Remilias, and specially Flandres, have a regeneration rate much higher that other yukkuris. little one does know that already, but this is the first time little one can see what does that exactly mean. Remilia can regenerate from almost anything as long as she has mister food"
she paused to point out remilia, while youmu was retiring the leaves that were covering her whole body. when she retired the last one, patchi only managed to see a few scars here and there, but not a single wound remained. from behind her, a pair of half-formed wings peaked. she was simply out of words
"Remilia regeneration also depends on each mister yu´s will. Patchi doesn´t know what remilia is thinking right now, but she is probably focused on healing even while she sleeps. also little did a good job healing her, but even if she did´t she would have healed in two days anyways"
"Mother, you really know alot things about yukkuris" not even some of the yukkuri material patchi encountered was so specific
"well, Patchi has a friend that knows everything about yukkuris health. I wonder how is she doing..." Mother abstentmindidly looked trough the window in the celling for a few seconds, until one sound joined the paused conversation
"uuu...?"
everyone present turned to the direction the sound came from. close to youmu, who now seemed to be on guard for anything suddenly, the remilia meeted with curious eyes the multiple stares that were directed at her
The mood seemed to tense up immediately. One wrong move and everyone´s efforts would go to waste. Patchi could not allow that, so she was the first to act
"take it easy. you seem to be in better shape that yesterday" patchi took a bug from a small stack nearly remilia, and offered one to her "Hungry?"
"yes! uu~!" e yu took the bug from patchi´s hand and devoured it in no time.
"do you remember anything from yesterday?"patchi asked right after she finished her meal
"Uuu... Uneasy remis made hurt-hurt to remi because she didn´t listen to stupid remilia!"
even Patchi was a little confused at the mention of that many yukkuris referred with the same name. she decided to go with the last one
"I asume that the remis are the ones that attacked you, but Who is remilia?"
"Uu! remilia is fat, uneasy and stupid! remilia orders everyone around the mansion! remi doesn't want to do that!"
"I see" So the leader of the mansion was a big remilia. not that much of a surprise really, but it was still valuable information "that explains why we found you in that state"
"Uu? Patchi was the one that saved remi?"
"yes" Patchi simply stated the truth "me youmu and koa found you..."
"Uu! Uu! Patchi is really easy! Uu!" Remi started to freneticaly rub her body against patchi-or as yukkuris liked to say, "rub-rub"-, as an act of gratefulness.Patchi was kind of embarrased by the sudden affection, but didn´t stp her.
when remi was a little more calmed, patchi pointedat the rest of the yukkuris in the room
"this are part of my family" said patchi
"take it easy!" everyone responded al unison
"Uu! take it easy!"
Patchi seems satisfied with her response, and decides to trust her word for now. everyone seems to agree, as they don´t seem to be tense anymore.
Sounds from the sleeping zone reach patchi´s ears. what it seems like another opportunity to present other yukkuris to the new member of the group is perceived by patchi as alot of problems.

"what does patchi´s mean, remi´s accesory is..." remi doesn´t seems to realize at that very moment that she doesn´t have an accesory yet, and suddenly seems very upset

The big door of the room is open, and if nothing is done, father and sisters will come here looking fr mom and cause a mess.
Patchi goes to the accesory pile in the other side of the room, and checks which accesories are big enough for this remi. out of all of them, you are left with few choices. You pick up the pink hat out of curiosity. The object gives an eerie feeling even to patchi: is this the power a predator accessory? to strike fear into preys, even when not equipped on the real danger?
Patchi looks at her mother, not sure about what to do. is this the right choice?
"small one, there´s no time"
She was right. the voices of the other yukkuris were getting closer and closer, and the worst case scenario could be avoided if she acted. Or would she cause something worse with this one? well, too late for that. Patchi approached quickly the sad remilia, and gave her the hat

Just after the remi picked up the hat, the other yukkuris entered through the main door
"Mommy, where are youuuuuu?"
"Patchi, are you there? are you in little patchi´s room?"

The first one to enter the room was reimu, patchi´s little sister, who didn´t notice at first the remi on the room and went straight to greet her sister .the rest of the group, however, was freezed on the spot once they passed the doorway

The rest of her sisters were the first ones who 'voiced their concern'

they were quick to hide behind father´s back, leaving piss and tears on their path. Patchi wondered why they were using 'remilia' to refer to the general type. That could be left for later trought.
reimu finally realized the proximity of a new yukkuri and her mood seemed to tense quickly. she did not, however, freak out to the extent of her sisters.Remi stared at her with curiosity.
"Yuuyu!? P-Patchi, that´s a remilia!" Father, altrough obviously scared, was both concerned about their family and confused about the lack of fear that most of the present yukkuri showed.And when doubt showed up, Mother was Father´s safe bet, like for most of us was.
"Yes it is, Marisa. remi is the yukkuri that small one bringed with her yesterday"
"Yuuu? Uneasy yukkuri was remi?" Father at least seemed to remember yesterday´s events, whitch was surprising to begin with. Maybe yukkuris gained more memory the longer they lived?
"Yes she was. But now remi has her hat and can take it easy again, right?"
From behind Father,the hecklers assumed that the question was directed to them.
"THAT´S A LIE! REMILIAS CAN´T TAKE IT EASY! MOMMY TOLD US THAT!"

Father seems to be divided between what his instincts and kos told him and what Mother told him. Patchi however, was not going to watch this go on without intervening

Patchi pointed at her sister next to her, and remi approached her almost immediately. reimu closed her eyes, and father seemed like he was about to stop her...

The rest of the morning was easier, but not without problems. while father and reimu seemed to accept remilia, the shitheads were still hostile to the remilia.Patchi spended the rest of the morning trying to make everyone get along: she asked youmu to carry remi while playing with her sisters, to soften things up. it kinda worked, but there ws still lot of work to do if she wanted to eliminate all frictions along all the camp. on a journey like the one they were going to carry out in two days, a quarry could end up badly.
"Yu! remi is really easy!"said reimu while she watched the others play with patchi. one of the side effects of remi´s presence is that the shitheads seemed to don´t bother patchi right now, so she was having a conversation with her sister without the usual problems.
"Yes, she really is... I think is about time to leave"
"Yuu?"
"Is midday. I still need to do more things"
"okay! take it easy sister!"
Patchi was about to leave when reimu continued
"sister... will we find more easy yukkuris when we leave"
'How does she know that we are leaving?' was the first thing that crossed patchi´s mind. Well, not point in hiding it then

"I heard it from Mommy and daddy when they were talking... sisters don´t know yet. Reimu... misses other yukkuris"
"I see..." Patchi said. She couldn´t blame reimu for saying that: in the last month and a half since reimu and her sisters´s mother died, a lot of yukkuri have either died or leaved the camp.

"yu!" reimu seemed relieved and happy after hearing that.
While patchi prepared everything to leave, she had an idea: they could check the settlements while they were traveling instead of going now. that would give her extra tim she could use on other things, but maybe visiting them now was a better idea...

Chapter 12: news from yukkuri city
Let´s visit the settlement close to the city. we can see if someone is still there yet, and if they do, ask them about the city´s situation
After taking remi with patchi´s mother to make sure marisa wouldn´t try something on her, the three yukkuris leaved.

I took them around two hours and a half to reach the settlement. most of that time was send covering behind trees, hiding from patrols or just in case after hearing a noise in the silent forest. It seemed that either the afternoon was more busy for the shitheads or something happened the last days or them to increase the patrols
Finally, patchi reaches the entrance of a cave under a hill. At the entrance, small crosses made out of sticks -some of them with accesories on them- lay in front of small piles of dirt. patchi ordered youmu to enter.
"yuyu!?"
Iside, a dozen of yukkuris of various types and sizes reacted to patchi´s arrival. Marisas, reimus, alices,patchoulis, chens, rans... all of the most common types were present, and stared warily at patchi. she decided to clear that up first
"Take it easy!"
it took only that to change everione´s expresions
"Take it easy!" Everyone on the cave responded. A reimu, big as a basketball, approached patchi with an scared koRan clinging to her side. Before even opening her mouth, patchi already knows she is a nicehead.She just gives that feeling
"Take it easy! do patchi and youmu come from the city?" the reimu asked. upon mentioning the city, the little ran looked more scared.
'I have a really bad feeling about this'
"the city? no, but what do you mean by that?"Patchi inquired, trying to remain calm. She needed more information before arriving to conclusions.
"Yu? does patchi not know? Things have been hapening on mister yukkuri city. uneasy yukkuris tried to steal mister treasures and mister food, and lots of yukkuri left the city scared. all the yukkuris over there are from the city" she pointed out t the rest of the group
"I see. And you lived alone before that?"
"Yuuu..."reimu seems sad suddenly "Reimu lived alone, but little one is not her child. also..."
Patchi prepares herself for a long talk:she needed to figure out what was going on here.

Well, that was really interesting
The little ran, apparently came yesterday with her mother, a chen. Chen was wounded, accesoryless, and scared, but before she could explain what happened to her, the mob living here had lynched her for being 'uneasy'. The ran was to scared to talk about it, and probably she would forget the traumatic event by tomorrow.
What was really interesting was the information coming from the city refuggees: apparently the heads of the city were asking to those who lived on the city to protect it from the uneasy yukkuris, and some of these families decided to leave to city, scared of fighting the shitheads. those who refused, apparently, were looked down upon, and their food ration was cut off(does thet mean that they have a centralized organization?do they have more specialization of tasks on the city, like recollectors? what about fighters then?)
'Marisa doesn´t want to die, ze!'
'Mukyu... patchi can´t fight. you understand patchi, right little one?'
But even more surprising is that some of these refuggees claim that some yukkuris of the city were joining the shithead´s side. The more she heard about it, the more the images of the two sides shattered: was the city after all not a nicehead paradise? what if the shitheads weren´t after all, only shitheads? something was going on, and patchi didn´t like it in the slinlest.
Also reimu apparently wasn´t alone until the rest of her camp (including her sister) left "to the city" (Altrough upon this new revelation about the shitheads reimu suspects that that was just an excuse to join the shitheads). Others were under the piles at the entrance.
"...and what does it bring patchi here?"Reimu asks
Now, Patchi had various options here: The yukkuris here were going to probably die (or get absorbed by the shithead hive if patchi could trust what this yukkuris said) if they didn´t come with patchi´s camp on their adventure, but what if they died in the journey or weighed them down? they were obviously not adept to combat. Whatever patchi chooses now, it may save lives or condem them

Chapter 13: The moral dilemma of a Raw cream-filled manjuu
...Patchi looked to the yukkuris on the other side of the cave: Could she really bring this yukkuris with her and ensure their safety? not really. Hell, she wasn´t sure she could save her own family. It was too much risk, and she wasn´t sure she could even trust her back to this yus. Reimu at least seemed like both a reliable nice head; after all, she allowed all the yukkuris to stay in her home, and took care of the orphan ran. Besides, the only one here who probably is interested in traveling to the city (If Patchi decided to go to the city at the end) was reimu.
"...Actually, we were going to ask you and ran if you were interested in leaving this place" Said patchi in a calm and low tone
"yugu? why would reimu want to leave mister home?"
"well, allow me to explain..."

After making a summary of the various dangers this zone was about to face, reimu seemed deeply concerned

She seemed a little hesitant. Patchi played another card

Patchi couldn't risk it. Sure, maybe they wouldn´t want to come anyways, but even if it came to that, some of this yukkuris may end up as enemies in mere days.
"Don´t tell them. they won´t want to come back to the city"
"but didn´t patchi said it was dangerous over here? won´t Reimu´s friends be in danger?"
she got her there. In truth, Patchi was playing the danger card only in one side because the other wasn´t convenient for her. she was deceiving reimu on that, but it was done already.
"It won´t be that dangerous. besides, reimu doesn´t want to make the other yus sad, right?"
Damn, that was a low blow. Reimu went silent for a moment.
"...Patchi is right. the other yukkuris may get sad if reimu talks about going to the city"
'she really is a nice head'  patchi thought. she felt horrible for doing this, but it was too late now. the ran seemed to be sad too, but reimu was too sucked into the conversation to notice
"tell them you are coming to patchi´s house and that you don´t know when you will come back"
"...Okay! little one, wait here!" Reimu seemed happy knowing that she wouldn´t upset anyone in the end. she went to talk to the rest of the group, leaving patchi, youmu and koa with the ko-ran
"Take it easy! what´s the matter, little one?" asked koa, who was probably bored for so much talking
"the cithy..." said the ran
"yes?"
"...Can´t tage it eajy"

After telling Reimu a little about the rest of the yus in the camp, Patchi stayed silent the rest of the journey. Reimu seemed content with talking with koa, who took liking to the small ran quite quickly and youmu, although she wasn't´t a avid talker.They made it back to patchi´s cave before sunset.
Mother closed her eyes, pondering everything patchi said to her about everything she had found out. The information was quite unsetting, but the city seemed to still be there. But the big patchi was concerned about something more.

"...At the cave, with reimu... I lied to her. I deceived her, and played with her feelings, to obtain a response that was suitable to me." Patchi´s face was constricted in a grimace, like she just had eated something sour "Sure, it was for the best for everyone, at least I think that, but..."
"I see"
"..."
Another small silence. they were in Patchi´s room, and everyone else was sleeping already.the Reimu and ran was well recieved bu everyone, and had no trouble sleeping with father and sisters. The breathing of youmu, koa, and remi filled the void leaved by the conversation, along with the flame of the candle that was giving them light in the first place. Normally they wouldn´t use it for just having a conversation, but they couldn´t bring everything with them in the journey anyways.
"A human said once 'The end justifies the means'. Does patchi agree with that?"
"...I don´t know. I don´t know what´s right and wrong anymore. the line between them is not as clear as I trough. I´m..." Patchi´s mouth was suddenly dry. it was hard to talk."...so scared"
"that´s fine"
"mukyu...?"
"small one still has to live more to understand. But know this: It´s only easy for those who have already decided after lots, lots of thinking or don´t think in the first place . And Patchi can definetly respect the former."
Mother started moving to the exit.
"last day is tomorrow, small one. sleep well"
Patchi made her way to the bed, with only one thing clear in her mind: she would definetly find out where was that line.

Chapter 14: the giants beyond the forest
...Human territory was the only route that patchi had yet to visit. It was a logical choice.
'Humans...'
Patchi respects the humanoids, and enjoys their creations, but she didn´t have neither a positive nor a negative opinion of them. She was obviously aware of the abusers, but the species as a whole was still quite a mistery when it came to direct contact.
"Youmu, let´s go"

2 hours later, Patchi was in front of the line of houses next to the forest. The front of the houses was facing the street, so there wasn´t much activity in the part facing the forest
According to mother, the destruction of the factory caused most of the workers that lived here to leave. abandoned houses could be seen here and there, most of the lower windows broken -the cause could be either humans or yukkuris, but patchi wasn´t sure-
Patchi observed 3 of the closer houses:
the first had a back porch, where an old man and his dog seemed to be enjoing the morning breeze. It isn´t the first time patchi meets this human: beck when she was an adventurer, she had observed the old man a couple of times.He didn´t seem to be hostile to yukkuris by default, but he had released his dog against shitheads before, with terrible consequences to the yus.
between this one and the next one, there was an alley with some trash bags accumulated at its sides.
The second one seemed to be abandoned. Upn a closer inspection, patchi saw from the ground-level broken window empty bottles and a strong smell of alcohol coming from the basement.
The third one seemed to be in good shape. patchi observed from the semi closed window the strange spectacle that was the basement of that house: on various desks, dozens of human shaped figures where holding blades, big plates and other devices patchi didn't outright recognize. most of the things they were wearing were either red or silver (metal maybe?). If she had to make a guess, it seemed to be some kind of game.
She pondered the options she had on mind. at the end, she decides to:

Chapter 15: the old man

"myon~" As usual, youmu seemed content with following patchi´s orders. She considered youmu a good friend, and they worked well together since always.
"yuuu... is mister human easy?" koa seemed concerned, though. She was almost a fully grown koakuma type (although that was not saying much) but she still had much to learn. Maybe staying with patchi during her reading sessions had a bad influence on her?
Patchi directed youmu in front of the porch, in a position where they were both visible to the human, but maintaining some safe distance. soon enough the human took notice of them, but did nothing else.
Patchi took it as an invitation to get closer. slowly and steadily, patchi and youmu made their way to the front of the porch. the man´s stare met patchi´s, and she started to feel pressure from it
"what do you want, creamball? If you are going to start talking shit, you will fucking regret it" the man took a swing from a metal bottle resting near his chair, and waited for an answer
Patchi discarded quickly a "take it easy" as her choice of words: a magazine about yukkuri abuse assured that the famous yukkuri 'mantra' was one of the things that infuriated humans, along other things. She decided to go with a salute common along humans, but respectful
"Good morning sir" Patchi started "forgive me for interru-"
"Holy fucking shit" the man stated bluntly
Patchi felt like a hammer had just hitted her from behind: did she said something wrong? She started to look nervously to her sides, fearful for a possible retribution from the human.
"Did you just greet me like a proper human being or I am drunk already?"
"mukyu...?" He was just surprised? thank god "Y-yes sir"
"Holy shit, you really did" the man took another swing from the bottle "Most of you little fucks come here asking for food and telling me to die. Nice to see some variety on that"
"may I get closer?"
"sure, why not" After getting closer and taking a better look to us, the man seemed puzzled "I have never seen little fucks like you around before. the banana head with the hat and the ribbon one come most of the time"
Patchi assumed this was a good time for a presentation "My name is patchi, my big friend here is youmu, and she..." patchi pushed koa from behind her back where she was hiding "...is koa"
"yuuu... mister human is scary"
"there was another one?" the human seemed yet again surprised. koa hid herself again behind patchi´s back
"yes, but she is a bit shy"
"Well, you guys sure are a weird pack" the man took a swing to the shiny bottle once more, only to find it empty. he squeezed the one he had on his hand and took another from a big container near him.
"Well, what did you want? You asked like a decent person should, so I will help you if I can" the bottle made a weird sound as he opened it.
He seemed to be willing to answer some questions, so patchi decided to ask:

Chapter 16: unfair city
"Patchi would like to know how safe is the zone for yukkuris"
The man stays silent for a moment, takes another swing from the new bottle and licks his lips before responding
"not a chance. this place ain´t a good place for you guys"
"Care to elavorate?" Patchi wouldn´t give up without knowing what did the man exactly meant by this
"Well, let´s see... the only food here for you is the trash people leave around, the shitballs living around them will try to eat you alive if you get close to it. and even if they don´t, some other animal will fuck you up for sure. and that´s not even counting..."
"YUGAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! LITTLE ONES!"

"There you go" the man took another swing, not minding the death wails coming from the alley at one side to the house -the same one patchi thought about visiting-. the enormous dog, who was resting next to patchi up until now, bolted from his sit and went to the alley. His barks felt like thunders to patchi. Only after the sound of running feet joined the mess and sistematically started to fade a way did the barking stop.
"If those fuckers catch you, you will wish you were never born". The dog´s paws and some mild sobbing came closer and closer, and patchi came face to face with the ugly reality once again
"yuuu.... "
"Mmmmmmmmmh! Mmmmmh!"
The dog was carrying a big Reimu, but it bravely qualified for that. half of her hair was gone, replaced by a dark and crispy skin. all of her skin was either dirty or opened up, the filling dripping to the ground. Her mouth, half opened, was lacking most of her teeth, and her cheeks were swollen and blackened. One of her eyes was out of her sockets, and the other was far too damaged to stay open. From what was left from the hair, a koalice was graving to the hair that was left, tears dripping from her butt
The dog finally dropped the half-dead yu to the ground, much to the distaste of the man.
"Shit Daisy, I told yo not to drop shit on the porch" after another swing, he continued "See, ballcream? this is what it awaits you. those fuckers don´t play around"
"Mommy, take it easy! Mommy!" the little ko was hysteric, rubing herself to the damaged skin of her mother, like that would magically heal the yu
"Yuuu... eas.. y..." the mother wasted her last moment trying to confort her little one. the breathing stopped, and only the sounds of the koyu remained.
Patchi was horrified of course. Could she really risk the camp to such a risk? what if they failed? what was the point of going trough human territory anyways?
"If you still want to visit this place anyways, let me give you advise" the man continued, gaining patchi´s attention once more
"One: if you wear one of these, you are less likely to end up like this poor idiot" the man reached onto a bowl next ot him and threw three metal pieces to patchi. two of them were like polished metal, with some strange marking onto it. the other one, however, had the color of the sun, nad was far more beautiful
"those are yukkuri badges. silver ones may work on persuading some humans, but don´t expect much. the golden one, however, will save your ass quite alot"
"And two: abusers love crying fucking shits that don´t die quickly. Don´t forget that" The man seemed to be done talking. Patchi decides to:

chapter 17: Long story short
Patchi was about to leave, but something had been around patchi´s mind for a while.It was really stupid, but she just wasn´t able to shake it off
"What, you need something else? I´m not that benevolent, you know?" the man seemed to notice patchi´s doubt, obliged her to answer
"yes I have another request..."
"well, split it out then, I have lotta things to do" the man pointed to the big container where he had been pulling out bottles
"would you mind telling me a story?"
She was honestly trilled with the idea of taking a peak to the knowledge of a old human being. How old was this man? 70, 60 years old? how many yukkuris lifespans was that? Patchi wanted to know what thisman had to offer
she didn´t expect him to burst out of laughing
"BFF HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" the man's guffaws and the tears rolling trough his wrinkled cheeks contrasted with the threatening image of the man up until now "I was expecting my grandsons to ask me that, not some random creamball!".After calming down a little -and taking another swing- the man sighed
"I hope you are ready for a long fucking rant. geezers tend to do that"
the man dropped his hand to ground-level. Patchi realized that he wanted her to hop on it, and she asked youmu to do so, despite koa´s weak complaints. after a few seconds, the yus were resting on the mans lap, probably the highest height they have ever been before. It was warm and comfy.

they spend the next few hours hearing the man -John Millstone was his name- talking about his life: how he had growed up, how he had gone to school, then highschool. he talked about his friends and his wife, all of them now dead. he talked about some war back in the jungle, and how traps and enemies were on every corner. He apparently had two sons and 3 grandsons, but he wasn´t on good relations with them. The man ended up asking for patchi´s own life and family, and she told him about it, including the travel they were about to do
"You guys sure are unlucky" he commented "So you came here to see if you could go trough the town alive?"
"Yes"
"And what are you going to do? what route?"
"...I still don´t know. all of them seem to have advantages and disadvantages..."
"Well, it's your turn to fight, ballcream. make it count" the man went silent after that, and stared at the knife that was resting near youmu´s feet
"Shit, you call that rusty piece of junk an knife? wait here, will you?" the man rested the yus on his seat while he got up. he entered the house, and, after a few minutes, came back with a enormous knife, almost as big as one of patchi´s books
"this fucker is what we call a knife!" after putting the yus on his lap again, he allowed youmu to examine it. Youmu was happily saying "myon~" while circling around the tool. she grabbed it with the mouth and made some slow swings with it
"youmu, be careful with that" Patchi said. She didn't want to upset the man after such a wonderful talk. Humans... they really were incredible.
"sure, why the fuck not..." the man mumbled under his breath, caughting patchi´s attention
"mukyu?"
"you can have it. that knife wasn't meant to used to stay on a drawer gathering dust"
"MYON~" youmu seemed to explode on happiness for the first time in her life. Patchi was going to say something else, but the man dropped them softly on the ground.
"Come on, you still have a duty with your family. stop lazing around" the man took yet another swing from a bottle, thrown it to the trash, and reached the container to get a new one
"If you decide to take this route, pay a visit. I would love to meet that mother of yours"
"Thank you mister!" Koa wasn´t scared of the man anymore, and was cheerfully flying around
"myon~"
"Thank you for everything" Patchi said at last. the man simply waved his hand, not seeming to care that much.
There was still time to do something else. Patchi decided to:

Chapter 18: Et tu, Marisa?
...The child seems like the best option here. The father seems far too submisive, and patchi only has one shot.
"We are here to talk to Marisa" Patchi finally answered the old Marisa. There was no need of specifying which marisa was patchi talking about:it was one of the advantages of talking with yukkuris.
"Yu? is patchi little one´s friend?" The Marisa, although surprised, did not question the veracity of that statement. "But marisa and little one need to find more food for cute reimus..."
Nt willing to loose more time, patchi trows a little of rice over the crowd of buris. as the creatures happily start eating the new food, patchi adds "it will be only a moment".Before the father can complaint more, the small marisa makes its way to patchi.
"..." the marisa silently stares at patchi, willing to listen
"I have an offer to you Marisa. if you succeed, you and your father will be free from your current situation" Patchi makes a pause, like her mother usually does when she is explaining something and wants to check on her audience, but the Marisa doesn't say anything.She, however, seems to be listening "what do you say?" "...Marisa understands" with a quiet tone, the yukkuri agrees
"well then, this is what I want from you..."

After explaining the upcoming journey and the task to Marisa, she acepts without a complain. with the acorn on her head, the marisa goes directly to the cave, while the father continues his labors. just before entering the cave, the yu stops in front of a line of nine sticks fixed at one side of the cave, silently staring at them. Patchi didn´t need an explanation to that: those were probably representing all the Marisas that had died during the little yu´s life. The corpses and the accesories probably had fallen victim of her hungry sisters.
ten minutes passed before the yu returned, this time in a sprint. followed by her return, groans started to erupt from the cave
"Mowmmy iz hungwy! Mowmmy iz hungwy!" the buris started to run back to the cave, completely misunderstanding the meaning of the agonic screams. The father,fearing the wrath of her wife, did the same, but was greatly outrunned by the younger, healthier reimus. And sooner that later, their screams joined the chorus
"GWUUUUUUUAAAAAG"
"cyute mowmy, tage it eaj-" one ko was sent flying back to the entrance of the cave, her filling bravely holding inside. At that point, patchi tried to stop the father from getting closer, but the little marisa stoped him
"...Daddy, lets go. to take it easy"
"B-But cute reimu...!"
"Mommy said you can go. That she can take it easy herself"
"...is that ...so?" the Marisa suddenly stopped moving in the direction of her impeding doom and went quiet. she was probably having a internal fight between the habit of being an slave and the possibility of taking it easy. but as the small marisa started pulling her braid in patchi´s direction, she followed like she was on a trance. As the 5 yukkuri leaved the place, a last groan encored in the distance but nobody dared to look back.

She was, again, talking with her mother on her room with a candle between them. The two marisa's, after eating silently for a good 30 minutes, fell asleep in an instant, probably exhausted for various reasons. luckily they couldn´t transport all the food they actually had stored, so feeding them an enormous amount was no problem. The talk with her mother was a report of her activities during the day
"is that so?" her mother was silent for a few moments. It was the prelude of the dreaded question patchi had been waiting for
"What plan would you carry out, now that you know this much? tell me, small one"
All of this days of exploration and dangers were directed to the journey they were about to start tomorrow. After thinking about it, patchi gives her answer:
A.We are going to the city
B.We will cross the river on predator´s territory
C.We will cross the human territory and find a new place somewhere
A.1.We go directly, and as fast as possible
A.2.We stop on point A to check if someone´s alive, and then we go to point B to rest that night. that way we avoid the evening
B.1.We go directly, and as fast as possible
B.2.Make some Sakuya disguises in the morning, go to point A, rest there, then continue the next day.
C.1.We go directly, and as fast as possible
C.2.We will need to get more badges somehow along the way.Stop on A too to see if there is someone left.

Chapter 19: Beginning of the travel
"The path of the predators... that would be my choice" aid patchi after a slight pause
"the bridge? why, little one?"
"Well... the human zone is out of question: it´s simply too risky. we don´t even know what we are looking on that place. The city... At first it seemed like the most intelligent choice at first, but after alot of investigation there is definitely something's very wrong on that direction. The way I see it right now, the predator´s territory is hostile, sure, but at least we know more o less what we are dealing with, and we have a considerable force on our side; if we move quickly, we can pass through" patchi finished her explanation, waiting for an answer from her mother
"I see... If small one thinks its the right choice, then so be it. we are leaving at morning" Mother blew the candle out ,and started to move, but patchi still wanted to ask something else.
"Mother... did you want to go through the city after all?"
"yes, patchi wanted to, but don´t worry. You are probably right about not going there, and we have lots of yus to take care off.There is not room for shelfish wishes" She said, with a sad tone. After that, she finally left the room.
Mother probably wanted to see if some of her old friends were still alive and well, but the survival of the group came first. such is the life of a good leader, through patchi as she went to the bed, where koa, youmu and remi were sleeping together. tecnically youmu was there to ensure remi didn´t attack anyone during the night, but after the events that unfolded yesterday she seemed to be trusting the predator so far. With both worry and excitement of what was about to come. patchi closed her eyes.

"Why can patchi go on youmu all the time?! Marisa wants to go up too! not fair!" Said sister marisa to Father while we were just about to leave. Father had just finished loading the food they would need inside his hat
"little one, your sister is very weak. she can move fast like everyone else"
"She gets to travel around too! marisa wants to-!"
Patchi decided to move to the next group of yukkuris  to see what was happening. Deibu´s former husband, nicehead reimu and Mother seemed to be chatting
"-Reimu didn´t have any little ones. but Ran is my little one anyways!"
"small one is the only little one I´m related to. I took care of little reimus and little marisa after their parents died"
"Marisa has... lots of cute little reimus ones but... or not?" the Marisa suddenly went silent, confused. He probably was pooping away bad memories, and the little ones were a conflicting memory on its own. He seemed more healty that yesterday, but the shock was definetly there. As the other two adults seemed to confort marisa, Patchi moved with to the next group with the smaller yukkuris
"Uu~! is Marisa a friend fo Patchi?" asked remilia from above her while they were getting closer to the yus
"yes she is" plainly stated patchi. in front of them a strange scene was taking place
"Ran´s tails are fluffy! so easy!Rub-Rub!" said patchi´s little sister, Reimu
"easy! but reimu´s braid is fluffier!"
"no! reimu´s braid is fluffier!"
The reimus of the camp seemed to have taken a liking to the koRan. the ran seemed confortable with the rubbing of her new friends. not everyone seemed to be doing well trough...
"..." The komarisa warily eyed the reimus, memories of her past still hunting her. the other yukkuris seemed scared of her uneasyness too.
"Marisa can´t take it easy?" asked koa as she landed on youmu. she seemed to be in really good terms with her new winged friend, and was happy to dance in the sky with her.
"Dick..." Youmu was already ready to leave:on the bag, instead of food, were the entire red plant branch, a flashlight poking out, ready to take at any moment, youmu´s old knife, a few folded pieces of paper, a small pencil, and a lighter (note: I didn´t mention the lighter before in the equipment´s list, but I forgot about how the fuck patchi was igniting the candles. so there it is.)the enormous knife from John was resting on her head, handle pointing forward.
Patchi looked back to her room for what she could asume it was the last time. There was no room for books in a journey at top speed as they were going to do, but she would still miss them
'farewell, my dear home'
"Okay, seems we are ready to leave. Everyone, listen to me!" Patchi raised her voice a moment to gain everyone´s attention."I need you to-"
"Stop giving orders, you stupid uneasy patchi!" Her sister interrupted patchi before she could give any order. but Patchi wasn't willing to put up with her shit. if her mother couldn't even help her friends, this shithead won´t even breath without begging for it
"Marisa, shut the fuck up or I´m seriously going to make you regret it"
Bang, silence. Not like they were talking much before, but now silence was the only thing between the little bean balls.
"It´s time. we are getting out of this death trap. Now I need you to..."

 the convoy of yus moved slowly, but surely. With youmu, patchi and remi  on the front, father escorting Mother and the smaller yus, and Marisa and Reimu on the back of the formation, they moved as fast and safely as they could with their current forces. koa was scouting, landing each 15 minutes for a rest. while you travel, you decide to talk to:

"Yuu!" Koa came back from another round around the perimeter. she softly landed on youmu, and faced Patchi immediately
"No yukkuris! no humans!" she plainly stated. patchi patted her head and offered her a small fruit out of a small pile of supplies she had near herself
"Good job Koa, I´m proud" Patchi said as koa happily ate the snack. She was getting better at flying and scouting which was very useful to the whole camp. Patchi, both as a friend, instructor and leader was truthfully proud of her.
"Uu! can Remi go with koa next time?" said Remi who had been flying next to patchi and youmu up until now.
"yuuu! Koa wants remi to come!"
"Mmmm... I don´t want you to get too far, specially if we are going to encounter more predators... come back in 5 minutes. when koa comes back, you can go with her again, and so on"
"Myon~!" Youmu agreed.
"Uu? minute?"
"Just ask koa when it´s the time to come back" Patchi had teached koa to count minutes when she was smaller, but of course other yukkuris wouldn´t know such a specific time measure.
"Uu! Remi understands easy!"
Both flying yukkuris took off youmu´s back simultaneously. As patchi watched the two of them leave, a simple yet strong realization reached her: here they are, working together, doing what they could to get everyone out of here alive. She didn´t expect the day would come where Patchi and their close ones would be on this situation.
"Time passes really quickly, doesn´t it?" said Patchi out loud.
"Dick..."

"Oh, small one?" mother noticed me getting closer to her on foot. Youmu was moving as scheduled, so we were still moving as this happened.
"I wanted to chat a little. koa is scouting ahead, there will be no surprises"
"I see. You are doing a great job small one, but don´t push yourself too much" She said as I started walking at her side
"This is not the time to take it easy Mother. I´m glad you are worried, but getting out of here comes first"
"Small one is right. but getting yourself killed won´t solve anything, just be careful"
Silence followed that. After wondering what could I asked, something crossed my mind
"Mother, have you met humans in the past?"
"Humans...? yes ,some. Why does little one ask?"
"What do you think of them?"
"Intelligence aside they aren't that different from yukkuris. But there is one thing..."
"Yes?"
"They usually have trouble taking it easy" Mother concluded "and that makes them unhappy sometimes"
"Trouble taking it easy... I think I kind of understand that"

"...and Marisa bringed... lots of food. But Marisa remembers being hungry before. Where did the food go...?" Marisa mutters as she walks.nice head Reimu was looking at her with a sad face when patchi joined her
"He suffered quite alot before he came here" Said patchi
"Yuu!?" Said reimu, finally noticing patchi´s small form
"...He had kids with a Reimu that turned out to be a deibu, and treated him like a slave"
"Yuuu... that´s so uneasy"
"It was not pretty to see, that´s for sure"
Patchi was even surprised that he was half-funcional after all he had been through
"What happened to Marisa´s little ones?"
'I killed them' was the shortest answer, and it was quite true. Patchi offered the job to the small marisa in exchange of a new life, but she didn´t have much of a choice anyways. it was that or dying sooner of later out of starvation. Patchi wondered, did that yu hate her now? she couldn´t blame her if it was that way. But that came later, now she had to answer reimu´s question
"Shitheads"
The low, calm voice of the small marisa came as a surprise for both of them.
'How long has she been there'
"Shitheads did it"
"yuu?"
without saying another word, the yu made her way to the group of small yukkuris again
"...Anyways, take care of him, he is still affected" with that, Patchi left the scene. As she we went back to the head of the formation, she wondered why did the small marisa intervene in the first place.

After 2 hours moving inthe bridge´s direction we stopped for about 5 minutes. At this speed we would reach the bridge by today just before the dawn.
Everyone was either eating or calmy waiting fo the time to leave when koa returned in a hurry
"Humaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaans! Mister Humans are coming!"
"quickly everyone, hide!" Said mother alarmed
the camp members covered themselves behind a tree, in the opposite direction of where koa came from. Acording to her, 3 humans were heading to this place. After a few minutes, the sound of voices reached patchi´s ears
"Why the fuck did you want to come here anyways? there are a shitton of strays on the street to have fun with"
"Dunno, I wanted something different. lets search for some shitballs"
'This is bad' Patchi trought. This humans seemed to be abusers. If they found them, it was over. Hiding seemed like the best solution, but they weren´t in the best spot to do that. Maybe talking to them will solve something?

Chapter 21: The night
No, going out right now it´s stupid. those humans only want to kill and torture yukkuris, talking with them would not work
"Everyone, hide here and stay quiet!" Said patchi as she urged the yukkuris to come close under the cover of the tree.
"why are we hiding from mister human easy?" asked big reimu, clueless upon the upcoming danger. Patchi tried to explain in the most brief way possible
"Mister humans are really uneasy. so keep quiet for now" A little of impatience leaked to her voice
With that everyone seemed to understand her message and the only sound left was that made by the humans:
leaves being crushed by heavy footsteps, getting dangerously close, only to start fading away in the last moment
Trees and branches being hit by something
empty promises of sweet sweets with ill-hidden intentions
Patchi didn't know how many time did the humans look for them, but she couldn't help but sigh when the seemed to give up about it
"Where the fuck are those shitballs? we tried fucking everything"
"Man, I hate it when I don´t get to torture one of those little faggots"
"and do you think I´m okay with it?"
"Calm down you two. there is still something left to try"
"Oh shit you are right"

patchi looked nervously at her comrades. the adults seemed to understand in what situation were they in, so they were trembling, not responding to the offering. Patchi´s sisters were unable to respond thanks to Mother, who had stuffed her mouths with her long hair.
a sudden movement near the nicehead reimu picked her attention just before she was about to relax. The koRan was taking a long breath, ready to answer the human´s call
"Quiet!" Said patchi in a low yet alarmed voice, but the ran seemed to ignore her
"T-"
Just before she could say anything, the small marisa solved her own hat into the ko´s mouth while pinning her down. She was bigger that the ran, so she had no trouble keeping the hat in place
"Nothing? fuck, what a waste of time"
"Lets get going, it´s getting dark"
after a minute, the forest was again silent

The humans had taken from them way too much time. The bridge would have to wait for now
with little light left, patchi, with the help of koa, only managed to find 3 suitable places to rest for the night: an abandoned car wheel,covered with a plastic and a small beneath it, a hollow fallen tree and an uncovered bed of leaves on the ground

Chapter 22:2nd day outside
The wheel seems like the safest bet at the moment the camp bravely fits inside the structure, although this does not seem to bother most of the yukkuris, thankful of physical contact on these nights near the winter. even your sisters don´t seem to mind remi as everyone goes to sleep.

Patchi ´s sleep is interrupted by an scream
"Uu~! gonna eat you easy!"
"IT´S A REMILIAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
all drowsiness goes down the drain in an instant. on the center of the gap that leads outside, a remilia the size of a soccer ball looks with hungry eyes at one of the wasa reimu sisters, who is runing and screaming from her. in the direccion where she is running is...
"Leave little ne alone, ze!" Father, with his superior size enhaced by his pointy hat stands in front of the predator. Despite his size, patchi doesn´t think he alone has a fair chance of winning. when you try to find youmu you notice her ready to strike just above the entrance, in the cavity made by the tire. unfortunately, the remilia hasn´t entered enough for youmu to attack yet, but youmu being here is enough to give the certanity to patchi that they would kill the remilia if she decided to enter
"Uu! what did remi find?"
"remi is hungry!"
just when things seemed to be bravely under control, the sound of two other remilias crushed patchi´s hopes. they appeared a moment later, one at each side of the big one, and both big enough to eat a ko in one bite
"Uu! remi found lots of easy prey here!" proclaimed the big remilia
Everyone seems terrified and the only ones willing to fight seem to be youmu, father and remilia.
Patchi, on its way to find a solution to this new development, noticed that the rock supporting one side of the wheel was near the edge of it. one impact would make that side of the wheel come down, killing the remilias instantly, but trapping them here. getting out of there afterwards would take them alot of time, but fighting the remilias seemed difficult...

Chapter 23: when it all goes down
Worrying about the problems it may cause in the long run doesn't mean anything when you have 3 predators willing to kill you right now. Patchi decided to eliminate them in the safest way possible
"Father! hit the wheel!" patchi said, catching his father´s attention
"little one, marisa is busy right now, ze!" answered father, too concentrated in the fight to listen to patchi. luckily for patchi, mother seemed to understand what was going on
"Father, hit the wheel please" calmly stated mother
"Yu? what does patchi mean with that?"
"just do it, there is no time!" Urged mother in a more commanding tone, while pointing at where youmu was hiding. youmu moved to one side and pointed with her knife to the spot, making it clearer to father what the plan was.
"Uu! stop ignoring remilia and drop dead easy!"said the big remilia, but before she could move an inch, Father was already dashing in their direction, his big body moving at a surprisingly high speed (for a regular yukkuri at least)
"YUAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" cried father as he made a final jump,crashing against the upper half of the wheel and bouncing back violently.
The remilias, who were expecting a frontal attack, mockingly taunted their prey, unaware of the real danger
"Uu? is marisa stupid?"
"Uu! marisa is so stupid that remilia will only eat his little ones! remilia doesn´t want to become stupid!"
"is koa tasty? Uu! Remilia wants to know! come here and drop dead easy!"
The rock holding the wheel finally made its way from under it, and so the battle was decided in an instant
"Uu?"
The predators didn´t even had a chance to realice those were their last moments. The weight of the falling structure easily crushed the yukkuris, making a wet, disgusting sound as their meat-filled filling splattered all over the place. the wheel finally hitted the ground with the force of a hammer, and everything went black in an instant. the close space was rapidly filled with the voices of scared and confused yukkuri
"Youmu!" said patchi within the condition. a figure appeared at her side a minute after, and patchi then pointed to a small source of light coming from behind the wheel outline
"time to start digging"
and so, the first battle against the predators was settled with no losses, but a boring morning of waiting

by the time they were outside the wheel, a good part of the day had gone to waste. they had around 5-6 hours before dark, and they were still halfway trough. their food sources would poorly last for another day without hunting, and hunting in a predator zone was a suicide idea. there was still time that day to reatch the bridge and even cross it, but they would have no extra time for stupid things
still Patchi was not sure what to do: staying here for the night and try tomorrow with more time, even if they were running out of food? take the risk and try it today anyways? maybe something else? unfortunately, patchi didn´t have much time to think. she decides to:

the choices were left on a draw, so I decided one of the two myself
Chapter 24: Risky bet
We can´t play safe anymore, it´s now or never. We need to move now or never, before we lose our steam against the predators. At a average pace we should be on the bridge in 5 hours.
"Okay everyone, we are moving" announced patchi

The forest was silent save from the sounds of leafs being crushed by the convoy of yukkuris. The sun, already showing sights of setting, projected a redish light on the forest ground. The overall feeling of the scene felt very fitting for the dangerous end of the journey ,or at least the end of what they had planned beforehand. After crossing the bridge, they would have to decide what to do...
"Yuuuu! Remilias! they are coming!" The voice of koa reatched patchi before she saw her coming
"How many!" screamed patchi, not waiting for koa to get closer
"12 little ones! one big!" answered koa back. Remilia was  following her closely, and both landed on youmu´s head. both seemed to be on a hurry, witch probably meant...
'Shit, this is bad' Patchi trough. but as she was looking for a place to hide, the spawn of predators appeared from behind a tree, directly heading to their position
"Uu! look, little ones! we have lots of yukkuris here" said the remilia as big as Mother, which was probably the mother teaching her little ones how to hunt
"Uu! Wemiwia wandsh to Munch-munch!" Said one of the baby remilias as she headed tt koa
"Uu!" one of her sisters followed her, looking at Patchi instead.
'Well, if it comes to this...'
Before patchi could say anything, remi fled in the koremi´s direction as fast as she could
"Uu? whad doez Wemiwia wh.. Uu?" the first ko, confused, looked at remilia as she positioned herself just above her, only to suddenly crash her body,more that two times bigger that the little remilia, against her top
"YUGAAU!" screamed the predator as she, unable to keep flying, fell in front of youmu.
Losting no time, Remi bit the other ko and dragged her to the ground with her wings
"YUGA! ITZ HUDHZ!WEMIWIA SHOULD ZTOP... YUAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" The half-complains half-screams suddenly turned into a short, pain-filled shriek before falling silent as fast as it came. A brown mess of stripes and a hat was the only thing that remained in Remi´s mouth
"Uu! Remilia´s Friend´s enemies are Remilia´s enemies!" The yukkuri proudly stated
"MYON~" youmu responded in agreement, as she lifted the enormous knife that she was holding with her mouth. The koremilia on the ground was clearly cut in half with one swing.
"Yuuuyuu! Shishtz!"
"UUU!REMILIA LITTLE ONES!!" Screamed in rage the mother, finally coming to her senses. She slammed herself against remi, sending the much smaller yukkuri rolling
"YUGA!"
"Youmu now!" Patchi urged.
"DI-CK!" youmu jumped, her blade ready. but as she swinged it to take the remilia down, the predator took off the ground in a moment
"Uu! Remilia is not stupid! Mister stick is really uneasy, but remilia is fast!" as she finished saying that, the remilia rammed youmu from one side,and returned to the sky before the blade could reach her. All that movement nearly trowed patchi to the ground
'Fuck! she is fast!'
The predator managed to pull off the maneuver a few more times before patchi decided they needed to change tactics. She took from youmu´s backpack the old pocket knife youmu used to carry before. patchi was bravely able to hold it, but that didn´t mattered for what she was about to do.
"Uu! Drop dead easy already!" the remilia made her move another time. But just as she was about to slam youmu from one side, Patchi pushed the blade in her direction
"UUUUGAA!" the knife embered on the predator´s skin, leaving a trace of meat filling as she fled back to the skies. Patchi was unable to hold the knife and it fell to the ground
"UUUU! REMILIA IS REALLY ANGRY NOW!" said the predator in a menacing tone. The wound started to heal almost immediately
'I don´t like where this is heading' patchi trough. Everyone knew that predators are trough and regenerate quickly, but this is just ridiculous. They needed to turn this battle in their favour quickly
"Uu!" Remi, fully revigorized, appeared out of nowhere and bit one of the wings of the big remilia
"Uu! Stop it now!" the Predator, private to the movement of one of her wings, headed to the ground, directly in front of patchi and youmu
"DIIIIIIIICK" youmu leaned forward and pointed her knife to the sky, impaling the remilia in mid air. the Big yukkuri made no other sound, instantly killed after taking a direct hit into the core
"Well, that was close" concluded patchi with a sigh "Now we have to deal with the ko´s and..."

'Where are the koremilias?'
"UGAAAAAA" a familiar screamed came from behind patchi, followed by an impact and a wet sound
"NO!" patchi screamed as she looked in that direction
She first saw that most of the yukkuris were alive, although almost none unscratched: Komarisa´s eye had a long cut transversing it as she rested on one of the predator´s corpses.koRan was near her, and aside from looking quite stunned, was fine. the adults were covered in scraches, but otherwise fine. sister reimu was unscratched, and sister Marisa didn´t have her hat on.

They unceremoniously buried my sister´s corpses just behind the scene that had taken her lives. Time, no matter how much sorrow we carried, was a luxury right now.
We carried on. Some soaked in sorrow, like sister reimu and my Mother. Others, like my father, were filled with rage, that carried with it a silent louder that any shithead. And talking about shitheads
"YUGAAAAAA! MISTER HAT! I WANT MY MISTER HAT" Screamed Shithead marisa, Throwing a tantrum while everyone was thinking about sister.
"WHYYY? WHY DO WE LEAVE MISTER HAT BEHIND? MARISA WANTS TO GO BACK AND..."
Patchi didn't need to turn back to know that the satisfying loud sound that she just had heard was Marisa getting bitch slapped by Father.
"Marisa can go if she wants. we are leaving, with or without marisa" Explained Mother in place of father, who was already walking along the rest, ignoring the fallen Marisa
Everything was calm from that moment on. Meanwhile, on the head of the convoy, Patchi was crushed not only with sorrow, but with guilt: She didn't have a specialty big attachment to her wasa sisters, but that didn't mean that they deserved to die. And if they died, it was mainly because of Patchi´s decision about continuing.
As she trough this, an structure she had longed to reach for the last two days appeared in front of her
"The bridge!"
The wood man-made structure stood before them. and in the center of it, their last obstacle awaited them
"Uu!"
around 12 remilia( 2 adults, 3 young adults and 7 kos) and 2 Big Sakuya were playing on the bridge.luckily They had not seen them just yet.
There was 30 minutes left before darkness. Almost all the remaining yukkuris were willing to fight.
And so the final decision of this adventure awaited patchi. Which decision would pull them trough? which one would kill them all?

we are in a tie right now, but I started writing before the tie. so b it is. (Also sorry if the pics look like shit, I had to do it with the camera)
Chapter 25: The day the devil showed its ugly face
'We cannot win against so many enemies' patchi trought. the remilias were already too much for them, but the sakuyas were what really worried patchi. while they don´t have the regenerative capacities of a remilia, they were furious fighters when their remilia was on danger and had the ability to throw knifes acording to some yukkuri books. patchi had no intention of discovering if that was true or not in the middle of a battle.
we still have time until sunset. if we wait a little more, maybe some of them leave

20 minutes had passed until what patchi was hoping for happening actually happened
"Uu! remilia is going home! come, little ones!" said one of the big remilias. two of the koremilias, who were playing with one of the sakuyas, hoped on her mothers head as she left the area. the Sakuya followed shortly after
"Wait ojousamaaaaaaa!"
The tree smaller remilia looked at each other nervously before one of then decided to speak
"Uu! remilia needs to go home! right now is fine!"
"Wait! Remilia wants to go too!"
"Uu! don´t leave remilia aloooone!"
With those enemies out, the only yukkuris remaining were one big remilia, one big Sakuya and 4 koremilias
"Uu? why everyone is leaving? Does Sakuya know?" said the predator. her partner seems to be worrying about something
"Yu... Ojousama, maybe remilia and Sakuya are leaving because it´s almost night"
Indeed, it was about to get dark , but why would a predator leave because it was going to get dark? patchi was confused
"...Uu! shitty manjus! now remilia can´t leave! Big Remilia would get angry! Now Remilia and sakuya are alone...!" Remilia seemed to get increasingly scared and nervous as she finished saying this
"Ojousama, don´t worry! Sakuya will protect ojousama!" Said the servant in response.
'Just what the hell are they talking about?' trought patchi, altrough she had no time to discover is. The reason for that is that they were already approaching the bridge
"Uu?"
The yukkuris in the bridge stopped their conversation after noticing the group in front of them: With youmu at the front and the adults at her sides (including, in this chase, shithead sister Marisa) the number superiority was very clear. The kos were nowhere to be seen, hiding in the mouths of their respective parents: sister reimu in father´s mouth, ko marisa in her father´s and koRan in nicehead reimu´s. This way they were showing no weaknesses and protecting the little ones at the same time .Father had a piece of string tied to the base of his braid, at which end rested youmu´s old knife. youmu was not going to use it, so might as well give it some use
"Uu? What is this? want ot die that badly?" The remilia seemed unamused, but the Sakuya, more cautious, positioned herself between her Mistress and the group of yukkuri
"Let us pass and nobody will die today" stated patchi plainly
an eerie athmosfere filled the air. Patchi ignored it as the predator responded
"Uu! Remilia is guarding mister bridge! no shitty manju can pass!"
The sun was finally hiding, and a cold wind started to blow. a chill ran through patchi´s body.
'It´s just the cold' Patchi reassured herself
"Scared? Remilia is very strong, its fine to be scared!"
Patchi noticed the sound of some liquid dripping to the ground
'Its going to rain, we have to finish this quickly' yet patchi did not say a word, nor one of the yukkuris at their side
After all, they had noticed 'it' too, and were passing for the same process that patchi, although in a less complex scale
"Did shitty manjus regret making remilia angry? well too late now!" The predator seemed to be pleased looking at the faces of pure terror from the shitty manjus that had the guts to order her around. 'How did they dare!' she trought 'Challenging remilia when nightfall was this close'. The predator conveniently forgot the other implications of nighttime, but that didn´t matter anymore
'tip'

the blades made almost no sound as they digged a small scar on the post at both sides of the bridge. At this point, even the Sakuya noticed 'it', showing her back to the group with no concern of an sneak attack
"too late now~" 'it' said with a sadistic, delighted tone, revealing her presence even to the oblivious remilia.
'No fucking way' Patchi´s mind finally managed to form a clear trought, as she stared at the Devil in front of her
Suspended just above the bridge, a Flandre smiled gleefully at her newfound 'toys'. Of course this fact alone wasn´t the peculiar thing about this. The yukkuri was, taking into consideration the size of an adult yukkuri, huge. Her wingspan supprased the 2 metter mark, and her crystals, the biggest pair now emblered in the wood, were gigantic blades even from a human standpoint. The body was two times bigger that patchi´s father´s already enormous body. her blood-colored eyes scanned the faces of her soon-to-be prey, and her mouth,from which drool dripped to the ground, could alwost shallow an adult whole
"too late now~! too late now~!" 'it' happily repeated. And with no warning, it started
In an instant, the body of the sakuya, only half of it showing from the predator´s mouth, passed at mere centimeters from patshi´s head. The monster landed, chewed the rest of her body into her mouth, and splitted a piece of accessory.boom, just like that.
By the time she directed her grace back to the bridge, all the yukkuris were running in the opposite direction, with no regards of who was on whose side. the monster gave chase once more
Meanwhile,in the rest of the yukkuris´s minds one trought was shared with no exception
'Run. Run or die'
Patchi almost jumped out of youmu´s head out of fear, even fully knowing that she would be left behind in no time. luckily, when the yukkuri swordsman reacted to the danger with a big jump and a scream, patchi´s instinctive response was to get hold of the grey hair.
"UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!" the remilia apparently forgot how to fly after watching the Flan devour sakuya, and was running along the rest of her former enemies. her babies were nowhere to be seen
"REMILIA DOESN´T WANT TO DIE!REMILIA DOESN´T WANT TO DIE!REMILIA D-"
A flash came from above
"YUGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" the remilia´s body was impaled by a crystal, emblering the scared predator on the ground. of course, nobody tried to help her, but when Patchi looked behind, she saw something she didn´t like
"MOTHER!"
Patchouli's were not avid runners. even fueled by the terror of the situation, Mother was falling behind, coughing overtaking her breathing
"PATCHI, HOLD UP, ZE!"
"FATHER!"
In an instant, Father splitted sister reimu on youmu´s head turned around to help Mother. Patchi grabbed her sister as the scene unfolded
"Mukyu!...Marisa... Leave Patchi behind" Mother tried to say between breaths and coughs. The Flan wasn´t visible right now, but It wouldn't give up prey so easily
"MOMMY!" sister screamed
"NO! PATCHI COMES WITH US!" Father immediately refused
"But... I can´t... k-Mukyu!"
"IF PATCHI CAN´T KEEP GOING..."
Marisa grabbed Mother´s body and lifted her to his head. his hat, with the last food that was left, felt to the ground
"MARISA KEEPS GOING FOR PATCHI"
Father started to run in their direction. as this happened,an opening on the ground was spotted 2 metters ahead.
"Father, keep going a little longer! we´re almost there" Patchi said. Just as she said that, the red Devil showed up once again.
"FATHER, BEHIND YOU!"
"OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAA" with a roar, father throwed mother a huge distance ahead. she landed on the leaf-coated ground, and rolled three times before stoping
the Flan catched up with the now exausted yukkuri before he could even lift himself up, and stabbed him with one of her enormous wings
"YUUUUGAAAAAAA"
"DADDY" sister screamed
Youmu stopped abruptly upon hearing Father´s scream
"Marisa..." Mother finally said as she managed to stand up. We were at the cave entrance already, and everyone but youmu, sister, mother and I had entered. The flan, after giving a satisfying look at her last catch, directed her attention to the rest of the family
"Woo? prey not running? fine by Flan" As it speaked, frail voices leaked from her mouth. those koremilias were already lost
"Patchi... take the little ones... and leave..." Father said between ragged breaths. the crystal had gone trought his left eye, securing him to the ground
"silly manju! flan is not going to let that happen!" she moved the wing that was holding the crystal, leaving her free to move. As she started moving into patchi´s direction...
"Who told... shitty flan... that marisa..."
Father´s body lifted himself in an instant. The crystal opened a horrible cut as he moved, yet he did prevail. his braid was holding the knife
 "...would!...let her!... DO THAT, ZEEEEEEEEEEEE!!?"
the flan, not expecting that and too close to Father due to trying to approach us a moment ago, couldn´t react in time. The knife made a wet, short sound as it nailed itself up to the hilt in the Predator´s eye
"Yuu... yuuu... Flan´s..." the Flan was shocked by the unexpected spike of pain before finally reacting properly
"YUUUUUUUUUUGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! IT HURTS! IT HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURTS! FLAN MISTER EYE HURTS!" it violently started rampanging, hitting father in the process. His filling came out of the now massive wound as he landed, without making a futher sound
We contemplated the scene, the screams of the Flan inaudible to our minds. I remember mother finally turning around, waterfalls of tears falling from her eyes. I remember staying on the cave, deep underground, waiting for everything outside to calm down. I remember lying on the dirt, tired of crying too much and hungry, as the darkness finally covered my mind. What I remember clearly is the dream that came that night. We were back at home, and I just had another fight with my sisters. Father scrolled me for 'not taking it easy', but as he finished his typical speech, he said something else
"Little one is just like Patchi back then"
"Like mother?"
"Yes like mother! Patchi was very uneasy with everyone, and ordered them around too much, ze!"
"you mean in the city?"
"Yes, patchi organized lots of things in the city! but she couldn't take it easy!"
after a pause, he continued
"But patchi did all of that because she wanted to help everyone..." He sighed" little one, can you promise to Marisa something, ze?"
"..."
"If you end up doing lots of difficult things like patchi, try to take it easy from time to time! If you can´t take it easy, the rest won´t be able either! can little one promise that?"
"...okay"
"Good! Look, here it comes your sister! remember what I told you!"
"Okay! thanks father!"
And so, Patchi and the camp escaped the uneasy place they were living in, altrought not without loses. Whatever happens after that, patchi will not forget that promise!
