Disaster #143: Gak, Part One

>Day squish-squash in Equestria.

>You’ve been with Twilight in the library for about fourteen hours and counting, trying to prevent the beast from engulfing your world. You two are running out of time though. The memories of what Celestia told you continue to rattle through your head from time to time.

(What the hay is that stuff?
>Celestia levitates a crystal.
>Encased in it, is a small orange substance.
>“This, is ‘Gak’.”
>“Gak", Twilight asks.
>Celestia explains.
>“Generations ago, before even my conception, there lived a unicorn that wanted to entertain children. It was his dream, and he spent day after day developing what you see before me. It’s the incredible, squishable, squeezable, squashable, stretchable, bounceable, ploppable, poppable substance that all foals wanted, but this substance is parasitic in nature, growing and feeding off of love.”
>“Like a changeling” she asks.
>“Much worse than a mere changeling. This substance grows dramatically when exposed to love, and the end results can be catastrophic. It was trapped in a massive layer of crystal, but to our surprise, it’s still growing. The crystal prison is beginning to crack, and it won’t be long before the Gak frees itself. I need you two to develop a chemical to destroy the Gak, that way, when it breaks, we’ll be ready.”
This sounds even worse than the Gyro bowl incident from last year. Don’t worry, we’ll have something ready in no time flat.
>“I’m trusting you both. Please don’t fail me.”
>Celestia gives you the Gak sample.)

Oh man, I’m exhausted.
>Twilight gives a yawn before telling you, “No time to rest. Must save Equestria.”
>It’s f#%king 4 in the morning.
>You examine the cells of part of the Gak sample under the microscope.
Applying solution 17.
>The Gak begins to slowly dissolve into a black and hardened substance.
This is slow, but it seems to do the job decently.
>“That’s great. I’ll get as much of this made as possible.”

THE NEXT DAY!

>After a lengthy train ride to Canterlot, you and Twilight arrive to the castle with about twenty gallons of solution in a closed wagon. Celestia along with a couple of guards, guide you two to part of the mountain that Canterlot is built on. With use of her magic, Celestia moves a massive boulder, revealing a secret labyrinth. You guys walk for a while, as Celestia gives a ton of exposition that you’re too tired to listen to. Eventually,
HOLY COW!
>It’s a massive orange glob towering twenty feet high and encased in cracking crystal.
>As you all get nearer, You can hear a faint monotonous tone emanating from the Gak.
>“It’s gak, gak, gak…It’s gak, gak, gak.”
Creepy, but catchy.
>Celestia tells Twilight, “Okay. I’m going to crack this crystal, and this thing is going to be set free. Once that happens, Immediately launch the solution.”
>“No problem", says Twilight.
>Twilight levitates the solution.
>“On the count of three. One…Two…”
>A Gak tentacle breaks through the crystal wrapping Celestia’s neck and violently chocking her.
>“IT’S GAK, GAK, GAK.”
>Twilight screams out, “CELESTIA!”
>GAK ATTACK!

>Twilight launches the solution, but things don’t go as planned. The tentacle blackens and breaks apart, and a solid chunk of the Gak is destroyed as well, but about a third of it is still encased in the crystal. The Gak explodes out of the crystal, and quickly begins to spread, grabbing Celestia, and dragging her in.
>“CELESTIA!”
>Through her coughing and gagging, Celestia tells you all, “GET OUT! NOW!”
>The Gak begins to fill every orifice in her body making fart noises the entire time.
>Twilight tries to pull Celestia out, but you forcibly pull her away as the Gak tries to engulf her. More tentacles form trying to grab you guys, but the guards slash at them with their spears.
>It’s singing gets even louder.
>“IT’S GAK, GAK, GAK…IT’S GAK, GAK, GAK.”
We need to escape. We need more solution!
>In the process of escaping, a Gak tentacle grabs one of the guards pulling him in.
>The second guard yells out for his partner, "Silver Shield!?"
>At the cost of Celestia and the guard Shield, you, Twilight, and a guard escape and enclose the exit with its boulder.
>Through his huffs for air, the second guard asks, "What now?"
Don’t worry guard.
>“My name’s Gauntlet.”
We had tons of solution chemicals at Twilight’s home, just in case something crazy was going to happen.
>"There’s NO WAY we’ll get from to Ponyville and back without that thing escaping! It’s going to engulf Canterlot."
>Twilight intervenes, “The Gak is going to spread from a centralized source. Once we destroy that, the rest will break apart and dissolve.”
In that case, let’s take the chariot out of here, and come back later.
>"This won’t end well", says the guard.
I know.
>As you all run to the castle to get a chariot back to Ponyville, you look back, seeing a tentacle of Gak, breaking through the boulder.
