  1. >The girls hadn't heard from Lincoln in hours since the mishap with Lisa's chemistry set.
  2. >They were worried about him, but nothing unusual. Until Lori got a text from him.
  3. >"Could you come to my door?"
  4. >Confused, she heads upstairs and knocks.
  5. >"Lincoln, a-are you okay? You haven't left your room since you drank that gunk..."
  6. >A note, written on an Ace Savvy comic book page slid underneath the door, not a sound emanating from the other side.
  7. >"IT WORKED" was scribbled hastily on the ripped page.
  8. >Lori looked at note quizzically, before rolling her eyes.
  9. >"Yeah right, dweeb, no way am I going to believe that our 4 year old sister, made a..."
  10. >Before she could finish her complaint, another not slid underneath the door. Again, not a sound.
  11. >"COULD YOU GET ME A SET OF DAD'S CLOTHES?"
  12. >"Lincoln, seriously enough is enough. Now come on and get out of-"
  13. >Before she could finish, a loud "PLEASE?!" boomed from the other side of the door.
  14. >Her heart stopped cold. At first, she thought it was an intruder. But then a softer spoken plea came from the other side.
  15. >"Please, Lor? This is already embarrassing enough as it is."
  16. >"Oh my God," she thought, "it's Lincoln." His voice sounded deeper, but it was his. She could barely speak at the surprise.
  17. >"S-sure, I'll be right back." She hurriedly left and grabbed one of her dad's button-ups and suit pants, ones he had when even she was in diapers.
  18. >Getting back to Lincoln's door, she knocked.
  19. >"I have them!" she whispered.
  20. >Before she could realize, the door began to crack open. She held the hangers up to the gap in the doorway, and was taken aback by the size of the hand that reached out to grab them.
  21. >Again, her mind flew back to thoughts of intruders, that she was being played with. Until she saw the scar that was on the hand, the one Lincoln got a year ago. It was him.
  22. >After the clothes were pulled inside, the door slammed shut abruptly, yanking her from her thoughts.
  23.
  24. >” …You’re coming out now…right?” She asked in a surprisingly meek manner.
  25. >There was a silence that seemed to last ages, before another note, was slipped underneath the door.
  26. >”Lincoln, you don’t have to keep writing notes, I bel-“
  27. >”I’m not, Clyde’s number is on the page. Could you call him and tell him I won’t be able to hang out for…a while, at least?”
  28. >Lincoln’s newly deepened voice became quieter during that last part. Lori felt saddened, but only for a moment before Lincoln spoke again.
  29. >”Oh yeah, might wanna get one of the others to do it. Clyde will cream his pants if you were the one calling him.”
  30. >Her mouth hung open for only a second before she had to stifle a giggle. This was Lincoln alright, no one knew Clyde like he did.
  31. >” And also, could you, um prep the others? I don’t want to freak them out as badly I did you.”
  32. >”Uh…yeah, yeah, no problem. I’ll go do that now while you get ready.” She turned and began to make her way to the stairwell, until she stopped in her tracks.
  33. >”Uhh, Lincoln? I don’t think I’ll have to.” She said, as she saw nine heads peeking out from the stairwell.
  34. >”I KNEW IT, IT WORKKSH!” The bookish Loud yelled, almost maniacally.
  35. >”Was that Lincoln’s voice?” Leni asked.
  36. >”He could be a backup singer in my band!” shouted Luna.
  37. >The girls all began talking and muttering amongst themselves, and Lori could already feel the embarrassment from the other side of Lincoln’s door.
  38. >” Alright, alright, back downstairs, all of you. We’ll give the twerp some space before we can figure something out.”
  39. >”You mean before ‘I’ figure shomething out?” asked Lisa, matter-of-factly.
  40. >”GO,” commanded the eldest. The entire experience was finally starting to get to her. If Mom and Dad weren’t on vacation she’d be catatonic from panic by now.
  41. >The younger Louds thundered down the stairs. Before she made her way, she made a point to turn back to Lincoln’s door.
  42. >”Call if you need anything, dweeb. Alright?”
  43. >’’….I’ll be down in an hour.”
  44. > She sighed. She had gone through this too, though not as suddenly. She smiled, and made her way down the stairwell. They’d get this fixed. It was a pain, but she didn’t mind helping her little brother during his sudden puberty-induced panic.
  45.
  46. > “WHAT?!” Lori shouted at her four-eyed sister.
  47. >”I shaid he’s not your little brother anymore. He’s older than you now.” Lisa said.
  48. >”HOW MUCH OLDER?!” The panic was starting to return.
  49. >”Obviously, I made it to make me as old as I am shmart.”
  50. >”So he’s, what, 18?” The rage was becoming visible in her flushed face.
  51. >”Psssh,” Lisa scoffed, covering Lori in spittle, “I’m at least college-aged. I did shome calculationsh before you got down here. Accounting for varioush different factorsh, Lincoln should now have the body of a 21-year-old.”
  52. >Lori became expressionless. This couldn’t be happening. She covered her face in exasperation. “How long?” she muttered from behind her palms. “How long will he be like this.”
  53. >”Oh, I can fix it. It’ll take a week, but I can fix it.” Lisa explained.
  54. >” Oh my God.” She slumped back into the couch. “I have to deal with 9 sisters, AND a new big-brother for a week.” She said, the hopelessness seeping in.
  55. >Before she could voice anymore of her woes, she, and the rest of her sisters, froze at a noise. A door upstairs just opened. The girls were all downstairs, which means Lincoln….who she HOPED was Lincoln, was heading down.
  56. >The heard heavy footsteps on the top of the stairwell, growing louder and heavier as they reached the bottom. All the girls’ eyes were locked on the pair of feet which just descended into view, followed by the legs they were attached to.
  57. >And finally, he had dropped to bottom of the stairwell. And so had the girls’ jaws.
  58. >”L-L-Lin.” Lori stuttered before being interrupted by her sisters.
  59. >”LINCOLN?!” They all shouted in unison.
  60. >Lincoln had only put on the pants and belt Lori had gotten from their Father’s side of the closet. And Lincoln was…well developed, to say the least. His face had become more defined, and if not for his hair and buck teeth, one might not recognize him. His shoulders were much broader, his arms and chest were toned, and one could see a hint of his abs, if they looked hard enough…which half the girls, from Lynn on up, were.
  61. >As they caught themselves, and subsequently reeled at the fact that they were ogling their formerly younger brother, the older half of the Loud sisters could only think one thing.
  62. >”Please, let this week go by fast.”
