- [2014-07-02 13:05:18] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Mare-Do-Well sighs. "In /Daring Do and the Griffon's Goblet/, the Cult of the Quetzalcóatl Empress takes over the Tenochtitlan Basin, shrouding it under the Empress' dark magic, but their efforts to summon forth Quetzalcóatl is foiled by Daring Do, who kicks their flanks..."
- [2014-07-02 13:05:31] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Mare-Do-Well continues, "Then in /Daring Do and the Amulet of Atonement/, Ahuizotl attempts to take the Quetzalcóatl Empress's power for himself, having secured some sort of secret passage in and out of the Basin. Daring Do thwarts him, but just barely..."
- [2014-07-02 13:05:41] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Mare-Do-Well finishes, "Then, in /Daring Do and the Razor of Dreams/, she finally defeats Ahuizotl and secures control of the Amulet of Atonement, dispelling the dark magic of the Quetzalcóatl Empress, and thus protecting the basin with the Radiant Shield of Rasdon!"
- [2014-07-02 13:05:51] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Golden_Dream 's ear perks up. "Mare-Do-Well, where'd they say th' Radiant Shield of Rasdon went?"
- [2014-07-02 13:05:59] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Bookwright sighs and shakes his head. "Golden, weren't you listening? We're /in/ the Radiant Shield of Rasdon!"
- [2014-07-02 13:06:06] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Bookwright points a hoof upwards, indicating the Obelisk above. "These tunnels, that rock, those glyphs... We're /inside/ the Shield!"
- [2014-07-02 13:06:19] <Mare-Do-Well> 3The ghost nods sagely.
- [2014-07-02 13:06:29] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Golden_Dream looks up. Oh.
- [2014-07-02 13:06:42] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Golden_Dream saw now. "... You know, I expected it t' be more gold-bronzy colored."
- [2014-07-02 13:06:48] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Bookwright snorts. "It's not El Dorado."
- [2014-07-02 13:06:56] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Noble_Heart pauses in the tunnel. "It seems likely to Us that this is but one of the obalisks that powers the shield. Likely the central shield is somewhere else."
- [2014-07-02 13:07:04] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Bookwright mutters to himself, "At least, I think. Probably. Unless 'El Dorado' means 'Great Big Rock'..."
- [2014-07-02 13:07:15] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Mare-Do-Well 3points to Golden_Dream's PipBuck. "Daring Do said the obelisks were built by Rasdon. Called them "magical nodes in a web of spiritual magic". There's a whole bunch of these all over the Tenochtitlan Basin."
- [2014-07-02 13:07:22] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Golden_Dream thinks. "So, Mare-Do-Well. Do you think th' central place where y' can command it to do stuff is actually in th' center here?"
- [2014-07-02 13:07:31] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Bookwright "If Daring Do's novels are anything to go on, which at this point we must assume that they are, the control center of the Shield was the Fortress of Talicon, but that was destroyed in /Daring Do and the Ring of Destiny/."
- [2014-07-02 13:07:42] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Mare-Do-Well would blush if she had blood or flesh. "Yeah..."
- [2014-07-02 13:07:49] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Bookwright "I suppose it's possible we could go to the Ruins of Talicon, and see if the controls can be repaired... But I don't know if that's our best option. Something this powerful wouldn't have just one control center. Or at least, /I/ wouldn't build something this powerful without a backup somewhere."
- [2014-07-02 13:07:56] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Mare-Do-Well 3perks up. "Well, Daring Do stopped them, right? Do obviously she did something. Probably something awesome!"
- [2014-07-02 13:08:03] <Mare-Do-Well> 3CopyCat tilts her head. "Why do we want to find the control center? Nopony has asked us to, have they?"
- [2014-07-02 13:08:11] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Noble_Heart tapped her chin. "There must be some way to control it. Or at least some way that the legionnaires thought they could control it."
- [2014-07-02 13:08:24] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Bookwright says, "Well, Golden Dream here asked about it. And I think that making sure nothing untoward is done with it is a good idea."
- [2014-07-02 13:08:33] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Golden_Dream ponders. "Same reason we're bein' real watchful of where that balefire bomb goes."
- [2014-07-02 13:08:48] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Bookwright says, "We've still got to find the Element of Laughter too, remember?"
- [2014-07-02 13:09:19] <Mare-Do-Well> 3CopyCat nods. As does Mare-Do-Well, who then mutters something about still not being able to imagine that with anyone other than Pinkie Pie.
- [2014-07-02 13:09:33] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Golden_Dream looks over the map on the pipbuck for any nearby indicators.
- [2014-07-02 13:09:52] <Mare-Do-Well> 3---

- [2014-07-02 13:10:12] <Mare-Do-Well> 3--- Session Begins ---
- [2014-07-02 13:10:15] <Mare-Do-Well> 3---
- [2014-07-02 13:14:21] * CopyCat tilts her head. "And as we look for the control center, we'll probably find more of those messages, since Yearling was on the same trail."
- [2014-07-02 13:15:53] * Bookwright "Right. Sounds like a plan to me."
- [2014-07-02 13:15:59] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Unfortunately, as warned by Stable-Tec, locations and points of interest in the Tenochtitlan Basin (and, in fact, the whole of the zebra lands) have not been tagged. The only map indicators that you will find are ones you have put there yourself. Or, as the map shows, the locations of proximity-activated special tags such as those used by Daring Do.
- [2014-07-02 13:17:18] * Shatara looks over Golden Dream's shoulder and recalls this tidbit, taking a moment to make sure he's been manually tagging his points-of-interest.
- [2014-07-02 13:18:19] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Only locations marked on Golden_Dream's PipBuck are Yearling Manor, Phantasy Sinema, and RSR Obelisk #3.
- [2014-07-02 13:19:08] * Fridge huffs. Well, /fine/ then. I guess /I'll/ have to map this place out. She begins to try to place markers and stuff where she remembers sites being, while looking for Daring Do's next dead drop. "Hey Shatara?" She said, poking away at the buttons, slowly but steadily. "Don't suppose there's a way fer pipbucks t' find huge signals, right?"
- [2014-07-02 13:21:00] * Shatara hmms a bit. "Well, there is a radio...don't know if that could be used to pick up on other magical fields though..." He can't help but glance towards Get Lost.
- [2014-07-02 13:30:43] * Golden_Dream looks about for other temples. "Hey, question."
- [2014-07-02 13:31:45] * Golden_Dream "Well, we don't really have any other leads. So, Shatara, you remember where that one shack was?"
- [2014-07-02 13:33:07] * mimezinga takes a look around, starting to check what she has at disposal
- [2014-07-02 13:34:32] * Mare-Do-Well 3offers to fly up, try to spot ruins, and direct people to the nearest ones. "There are a /lot/ of ruins in the Tenochtitlan Basin though. Not all of them are important." She thinks, then adds, "Although they might have treasure!"
- [2014-07-02 13:36:12] * Golden_Dream looks up at the rubies. "You sure they ain't cursed or some shit?"
- [2014-07-02 13:36:30] * Get_Lost "well, we're not in a hurry, are we? some good olfd treasure hunting is always welcome in a place not defastated by radiation"
- [2014-07-02 13:36:58] * Shatara points at his pipbuckmap. "Uh, thereish?"
- [2014-07-02 13:37:13] * Bookwright looks pained. "But, we /are/ in a hurry. Well, kind of. We're looking for the Element of Laughter, remember?"
- [2014-07-02 13:37:27] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Get_Lost notes that they have scavenged most of what is down here, although she is able to get a couple sensor modules from the ruins of the turrets that Shatara didn't dismantle. However, on the rocky plateau above, she's been told there are four more (functional) turrets and a missile wagon.
- [2014-07-02 13:38:03] * Get_Lost "we werw literally hit by tactical curses of mass destruction two centuries ago... this curse has to be a very good if she wants even to be noticed..."
- [2014-07-02 13:39:24] <Shatara> "A bullet may not be balefire, but the one whose head it peirces will certainly notice it..."
- [2014-07-02 13:40:07] * Get_Lost "i dont' think i have enough stuff to put together anything better than what i already have in my head... maybe we can salvage some more from the other turrets? what could ever go wrong?"
- [2014-07-02 13:40:30] * Mare-Do-Well 3phbbts at Golden_Dream (which is quite the feat for a ghost). "All the best treasures are always cursed."
- [2014-07-02 13:41:57] * Get_Lost "you know what iis really weird? there's no terminal commanding the turrets..." starts scanning frequencies to see if she can find the one probably used by the turrets to communicate
- [2014-07-02 13:44:12] * Golden_Dream 's ears flatten out. "Which is why they ain't been looted yet!" She grumbles. "Why can't there be a temple t' good-natured mischief? Or gettin' friends unghosted? Or parties?"
- [2014-07-02 13:44:37] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Get_Lost quickly deduces that there is a terminal commanding the turrets and, eliminating everyplace they've not found it, it's probably inside the missile wagon.
- [2014-07-02 13:45:29] * Get_Lost sighs "okay, if we want to take out the turrets we have to get in the missile wagon..... can i get a free teleport there please? i should fix the problem in a moment"
- [2014-07-02 13:46:39] * Bookwright "You don't need a teleport, just a bit of levitation."
- [2014-07-02 13:48:35] * Get_Lost "i think i'll get shot as soon as i'll get airborne but i like the idea anyway. let's do it"
- [2014-07-02 13:49:06] * Bookwright "We'll just keep you below the declination of the turrets, and you'll be fine."
- [2014-07-02 13:49:22] * CopyCat smiles. "If the turrets are a problem then I could give you a ride. We can share a bubble to stop those nets."
- [2014-07-02 13:50:18] * Bookwright "Yes, that would work too! I don't know why I didn't think of that."
- [2014-07-02 13:51:52] * Get_Lost thinks about it "i'm not the only one adept at getting into tterminals here... and i'm the less likely easy to get there... bookie, you could take this call"
- [2014-07-02 13:53:23] * Bookwright shakes his head. "I'm not nearly as good with robots as you are! You're robopony! Invulnerable to bullets, bringer of justice!"
- [2014-07-02 13:54:28] * Get_Lost sighs but smiles "well, something like that anyway... let's dance"
- [2014-07-02 13:54:46] * CopyCat puts a hoof on Get_Lost's shoulder. "And this is zebra tech we're talking about. We may need some of your brilliant (and sometimes dangerous) ingenuity."
- [2014-07-02 13:55:04] <Shatara> "'sometimes'?"
- [2014-07-02 13:55:25] * Golden_Dream "You doubting her /now/ of all times?"
- [2014-07-02 13:55:38] * Mare-Do-Well 3mouths "sometimes' along with Shatara.
- [2014-07-02 13:56:03] * CopyCat answers, "It's not always dangerous to /us/."
- [2014-07-02 13:58:48] * Get_Lost "oh c'mon, just let's do this and find the next problem to solve, okay?" sighs
- [2014-07-02 13:59:34] * Golden_Dream points at Get_Lost. "Hey, she gets it. Just make sure not t' launch those rockets at anything, m'kay?"
- [2014-07-02 13:59:51] * Mare-Do-Well 3flies up to scout. Yep. Turrets are still there.
- [2014-07-02 13:59:57] * Get_Lost "just to the bad guys, don't worry!"
- [2014-07-02 14:00:29] * Golden_Dream looks at Shatara. "Hey. How good a shot are you from real long range?"
- [2014-07-02 14:00:40] * CopyCat kneels down beside Get_Lost. "Welcome aboard, ma'am. Next stop, a rusting zebra missile wagon!"
- [2014-07-02 14:01:22] * Shatara tilts his head. "Uh, pretty good I guess...?" He digs a fancy silent sniper rifle out of his pack and fiddles on it a bit.
- [2014-07-02 14:02:36] * Golden_Dream nods. "Okay, how about you get away from here a long ways, then fly up when you're outta their range and cover them in case things go south?"
- [2014-07-02 14:02:43] * Get_Lost climbs on copy's back "please try not to get fried"
- [2014-07-02 14:03:12] * Get_Lost "also, if you teleport me there, probably there will be no problems at all... you know..."
- [2014-07-02 14:04:01] * Bookwright "Right, you've convinced me! One teleport, coming up!"
- [2014-07-02 14:05:08] * Bookwright steps over next to Get_Lost and puts a hoof around her, pointing the other at the wagon. "Here... we... go!"
- [2014-07-02 14:06:06] * CopyCat casts her shield around them both and trots happily off towards the missile wagon, flying if needed. "I don't know how to teleport, but I have remembered how to give a great ponypedi."
- [2014-07-02 14:06:45] * CopyCat she says, as Get_Lost is vanished by Bookwright. "Oh. Or that works too." She smiles.
- [2014-07-02 14:06:55] * Bookwright disappears in a flash of amber lightning, reappearing directly in front of the missile wagon's door. Get_Lost is with him.
- [2014-07-02 14:07:28] * Get_Lost scoots inside the zebra vehicle and tries to hack the computer as fast as possible
- [2014-07-02 14:07:51] * Bookwright scoots in behind Get_Lost, eager to not be visible to anything that could shoot him in the butt.
- [2014-07-02 14:07:59] * Bookwright Or in other places, for that matter.
- [2014-07-02 14:09:53] * Golden_Dream looks to Mare-Do-Well. Well, she was mostly a close-range sort of pony, and she'd run out of the explosives that takes out turrets and stuff. There were situations where her skills are needed, and then there was this. So, holding a bit of faith for them, she sits down and waits for them to come back. "... So, there anything I can do fer you?"
- [2014-07-02 14:10:51] * CopyCat looks for jungle flowers.
- [2014-07-02 14:11:47] <Mare-Do-Well> 3The missile wagon is easily ten ponies in length -- an enclosed operator's compartment and a flat bed with two missile turret platforms. The moment Bookwright appears with Get_Lost, the small turrets surrounding the obelisk perks up and begin to swing towards them.
- [2014-07-02 14:11:54] <Mare-Do-Well> 3One of them seems to be having trouble turning its head, the others fire just after Bookwright closes the door behind him.
- [2014-07-02 14:12:34] * Get_Lost "okay, that was easy, now let's hack this toy..." starts checking the computers
- [2014-07-02 14:13:56] <Mare-Do-Well> 3True to Get_Lost's reckoning, there is a terminal... of sorts... sitting inside the missile wagon. This is not the Stable-Tec terminals she is familiar with, however. It seems simultaneously more advanced and less durable. The only reason this terminal is still functioning is because it was sheltered from the elements so well inside this cabin.
- [2014-07-02 14:14:45] <Mare-Do-Well> 3And even then, it's showing signs of deterioration. Powering up the screen immediately results in "Power Levels Critically Low" warnings.
- [2014-07-02 14:14:58] * Shatara observes their progress from a relatively safe spot.
- [2014-07-02 14:15:13] * Get_Lost "wow, this technology is far more advanced than our pony tech! compared to this, our best computers are nothing but foal toys...."
- [2014-07-02 14:16:03] * Get_Lost takes the first cable at hoof and connects the thing with her cybernetics "this should power it for as long as we need it to work..."
- [2014-07-02 14:17:13] * Bookwright "Our computers are still working though."
- [2014-07-02 14:18:58] * Get_Lost "yes, probably we were expecting the end of the world better than them.... oh joy..."
- [2014-07-02 14:21:44] * Get_Lost tippity taps on the keyboard, keepingg the screen turned off to save power while she doea all the things directly with the cable connection "okay, i detachet the power feed to the turrets, they can't shoot anymore, but the cameras are still on... what now?"
- [2014-07-02 14:22:06] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Mare-Do-Well blinks at Golden_Dream and shakes her head, waiting for Bookwright and Get_Lost to return safely and with good news.
- [2014-07-02 14:22:09] * Get_Lost also, summons parlay "PARLAY! COME HERE DEAR!"
- [2014-07-02 14:23:12] * Get_Lost as soon as the robot shows up, connects the thingie to the computer too "here, learn some zebrican from their data files, and download anything not naild to the hard drive"
- [2014-07-02 14:23:19] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Parlay beeps happily and swoops up towards the missile wagon, hovering just outside the windshield.
- [2014-07-02 14:23:55] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Parlay starts learning to read zebra.
- [2014-07-02 14:25:04] <Mare-Do-Well> 3With Get_Lost's hacking the turrets around the obelisk power down, their barrels drooping towards the ground.
- [2014-07-02 14:25:29] * Get_Lost turns towards bookie again "sooooo.... what are going to do now? this thing has little to no power left, i dont' think we can really power up a large radio receiver unless we build a giant hamster wheel and make ponies ride in it like the devil chased them"
- [2014-07-02 14:27:49] * Bookwright "What's the 'devil'? Nevermind. Anyways, the turrets are down, so it's safe to leave. Do you think the missiles are salvageable? I'm sure Shatara wants to know."
- [2014-07-02 14:28:35] * Get_Lost "why don't we ask him? he loves doing that king of things himself and i love giving him a helping hoof"
- [2014-07-02 14:30:12] * Get_Lost pokes her head out of the wagon "HEY! SHATARA! WANT TO PLAY WITH THE MIRV?"
- [2014-07-02 14:30:29] * Bookwright pins his ears back. Get_Lost is LOUD.
- [2014-07-02 14:31:13] * Shatara abandons caution and dives in, giggling like a madgryph!
- [2014-07-02 14:33:44] * Bookwright backs out of the wagon, away from the Very Loud Pony, in time to greet Shatara. "The computers in there are just about toast, but the turrets are powered down. No idea about the missiles though. I think that's your purview."
- [2014-07-02 14:34:35] * Get_Lost sits next to the computer keeping it powered until parlay is done
- [2014-07-02 14:40:35] * CopyCat picks a red and white flower that looks like a miniture explosion and tucks it into her mane. She picks another and does the same for Golden_Dream. "It really is nice to fnd somewhere with such healthy plants."
- [2014-07-02 14:40:42] <Mare-Do-Well> 3As far as Shatara can tell, the missile platforms are entirely dead. The missile wagon seems to have been supplying power to not only itself, but the terminal and the turrets. The huge bank of non-magical batteries connected to a cracked crystal were barely capable of powering the remaining turrets (accounting for their sluggishness).
- [2014-07-02 14:42:43] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Shatara can dismantle as much of the wagon safely as he wants, provided he had all the tools needed. Unfortunately, zebra military wagons were not designed to be taken apart by a mechanics kit or a pony screwdriver. He'd need a cutting torch to get at most of it. The missiles are another matter entirely.
- [2014-07-02 14:43:59] * Golden_Dream relaxes a bit and waits for her friends to come back. "You know, you done good for us. Wish there was some way fer' me t' pay you back fer helpin' out so much."
- [2014-07-02 14:44:38] <Mare-Do-Well> 3The missiles could be salvaged with... relative ease. (Explosives check per missile: Skill of 50 required, no bonuses or penalties.) The missiles are large and quite heavy... how many he can scavenge will be limited by the group's ability to carry them, not the number available.
- [2014-07-02 14:55:04] * Shatara does a little figure-8 around the launchers, trying to get a good feel of their size and purpose.
- [2014-07-02 15:00:57] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Shatara determines that they are explodey missiles. (Almost certainly surface-to-air, but beyond that they are outside of his expertise.)
- [2014-07-02 15:03:22] * Golden_Dream 's eyelashes flutter as she leans back. She was kind of entranced by how absurd things had gotten. One day, she's just some trash left behind in some tin house everyone forgot about, the next, she's in a ruin trying to find a gal-durned element of harmony.
- [2014-07-02 15:05:26] * Shatara taps his talon to his beak. "Yup, them's definitely missiles..."
- [2014-07-02 15:05:53] * Bookwright deadpans, "What gave it away?"
- [2014-07-02 15:06:40] * Golden_Dream just notes that Copycat put some flower on her ear. It's pretty. "Hey, these are purdy. Where'd you get 'em?"
- [2014-07-02 15:07:58] * Shatara points. "I can tell by the fins and from seeing many missiles in my time."
- [2014-07-02 15:08:36] * CopyCat points. "There were a few growing over there. Nature is facinating."
- [2014-07-02 15:10:52] * Get_Lost takes a good look at the missiles too "if you dress them properly, probably they could also be some interesting guests in a party"
- [2014-07-02 15:12:08] * Golden_Dream lies down onto the ground. "That it is, CopyCat." She smiled, looking rather placid for the first time in a long time. Something about the surrounding chorus of sounds brought memories of home.
- [2014-07-02 15:12:09] <Mare-Do-Well> 3The flowers that Copycat has found are very pretty. And perfectly safe to wear in your mane. Golden_Dream surmises that you shouldn't eat them though. Poisonous. (They do, however, qualify as red herbs for alchemy.)
- [2014-07-02 15:12:35] * Bookwright "So! Are they tasty as well as pretty?"
- [2014-07-02 15:13:29] * Golden_Dream "Nope. Poisonous as heck. Give you th' worst kinda stomach bug possible fer a day or two."
- [2014-07-02 15:14:23] * Bookwright looks crestfallen. "Oh."
- [2014-07-02 15:17:14] * Shatara starts pondering more practical things, like how many launch tubes could be strapped to the firewagon.
- [2014-07-02 15:17:26] * Golden_Dream sighs with contentment. "So. Y' got somethin' fer me t' do, or did it just strike y' how absurd this is, too?
- [2014-07-02 15:18:25] * Bookwright is shaking his head in disbelief. "I think Shatara wants to tow the missile truck with the firewagon."
- [2014-07-02 15:18:55] * Get_Lost "if you can recover a couple of missiles for us, we will probably regret this decision later.... please?"
- [2014-07-02 15:19:16] * Shatara hmmms. "That would require less cutting..."
- [2014-07-02 15:20:03] * Golden_Dream blinks. Wait, what? "... Lemme take a look at it." She said, getting up and tucking her flower into her hat. Even if it did pop up in the glossary of inedible plants, it /was/ pretty.
- [2014-07-02 15:23:49] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Mare-Do-Well swoops down next to Shatara. "Hey, fly up, be sneaky, look to the southwest, away from the mountains of creepiness. What do you see?"
- [2014-07-02 15:25:18] * Shatara blinks a little, but does as rainbogoast suggests.
- [2014-07-02 15:32:26] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Shatara can see something off in the distance, but it looks like a black dot hovering over the hills. He would need binoculars to get a sufficient look.
- [2014-07-02 15:34:16] * Shatara luckily has a sniper scope, which is pretty much the same thing.
- [2014-07-02 15:38:18] <Mare-Do-Well> 3It's hard to find the speck on the horizon through the narrow window of the sniper scope.
- [2014-07-02 15:51:01] * CopyCat looks over at the missile truck and blinks at the lack of Shatara. "Hey Golden_Dream, did you see where Shatara went?"
- [2014-07-02 15:51:43] * Golden_Dream continues her precarious work in the missile truck. "I think he went up with Mare-Do-Well t' look at somethin'."
- [2014-07-02 15:58:40] * CopyCat flies up to join Shatara. She sticks her head in front of his scope by way of greeting, giving him a very close up look of her face. "Hi Shatara! What are you doing?"
- [2014-07-02 16:00:47] * Shatara acks. "Trying to see the thing, I guess?"
- [2014-07-02 16:03:21] * CopyCat floats beside Shatara, very close and very curious. "Can I see?"
- [2014-07-02 16:06:23] * Shatara sighs and tosses her the rifle and heads back down. "Knock yourself out."
- [2014-07-02 16:09:17] * CopyCat catches the rifle in her mouth. {Hey! You get back here and show me how to do it with your arms around me all romantic-like!} She thinks at Shatara crossly.
- [2014-07-02 16:10:03] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Golden_Dream carefully removes one of the missiles and starts to dismantle it...
- [2014-07-02 16:14:15] <Mare-Do-Well> 3...and somehow ignites the rocket. The missile shoots off out from under her hooves, leaving a burning trail behind it. Before it can collide with a rock (or worse, the missile wagon), the missile suddenly twists upwards, becoming airborne, aimed towards the two flying figures above.
- [2014-07-02 16:15:05] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Shatara is out of its flight path (if barely) but CopyCat isn't. And her attempt to dodge is less than fully successful.
- [2014-07-02 16:15:26] * CopyCat squeeks.
- [2014-07-02 16:19:24] <Mare-Do-Well> 3There is a painful cracking sound as the missile clips CopyCat's left wing. Fortunately, the missile doesn't detonate, and continues flying. Unfortunately, CopyCat's broken wing institutes an... emergency landing.
- [2014-07-02 16:21:53] * CopyCat drops out of the sky, her left wing flapping limply in the wind at an unnatural angle.
- [2014-07-02 16:22:27] * Shatara squawks in alarm and dives to catch CopyCat.
- [2014-07-02 16:24:29] * Golden_Dream coughs as she gets dazed from the runaway missile. She seemed to catch some of the soot flames, but nothing broke. Not like CopyCat. It took some time to understand the horror of what she did.
- [2014-07-02 16:25:05] * Bookwright follows the missile trail upwards and sees CopyCat begin to fall. He lights his horn, and tries to halt (or at least slow down) CopyCat's fall.
- [2014-07-02 16:27:29] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Shatara deftly catches the large alicorn and manages to lower her to the ground gracefully.
- [2014-07-02 16:28:16] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Bookwright's glow wraps around CopyCat a moment later, lightening her for Shatara.
- [2014-07-02 16:28:21] * CopyCat falls into Shatara's arms and smiles up at him, before briefly passing out from shock.
- [2014-07-02 16:29:07] * Bookwright gently sets CopyCat down. "Okay, um does anypony know medicine? I know a little..."
- [2014-07-02 16:32:49] * Golden_Dream just sits there in stunned silence. No. Nonono. No. Nonono. She shook,, mismatched eyes wide and body shaking.
- [2014-07-02 16:40:11] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Get_Lost has been dismantling and looting the four turrets. Since Shatara had already dismantled one, he was able to tell her all the things to be careful about, making the job easy so long as she is careful. (Solaris? Careful?) Get_Lost is on the far side of the obelisk when the missile ignites. Assuming attack, she proceeded to hide.
- [2014-07-02 16:40:29] * CopyCat opens her eyes. "Oww..." she says simply.
- [2014-07-02 16:43:39] * Bookwright "Shush-shush-shush. Get Lost will be here in a moment. In the meantime, just relax."
- [2014-07-02 16:44:22] <Mare-Do-Well> 3(On the other hoof, Get_Lost has managed to acquire a dozen more net canisters, another three dozen doses of poison, three sensor modules and enough parts for Shatara to build /two/ net launchers at good condition.)
- [2014-07-02 16:45:30] * Shatara holds the injured CopyCat, oohing a bit at the haul. No! Focus! He waves his wing urgently to the sciencepone.
- [2014-07-02 16:48:14] * CopyCat looks at her left side. "My wing is broken," she says in a detached manner. "Bookwright, Shatara, can one of you check in my saddlebags for a Medical Brace please? I can make a splint until Get Lost can take a look at it."
- [2014-07-02 16:49:37] * Golden_Dream retreats back inside the building. Stupid. Stupid, stupid, stupid her.
- [2014-07-02 16:50:53] * Bookwright digs through CopyCat's bags with alacrity, turning up the medical brace quickly.
- [2014-07-02 16:51:01] * Mare-Do-Well 3floats over CopyCat. "It will be okay. It will be okay. Medicine's amazing now. With everything Fluttershy's ponies came up with, you'll be soaring high again in no time."
- [2014-07-02 16:53:23] * CopyCat thanks Bookwright and takes the medical brace. "Oh, and... can you please stay with me Shatara? I'm borrowing your sense of touch to help with the pain."
- [2014-07-02 16:53:43] * CopyCat attempts to splint her own wing.
- [2014-07-02 16:56:42] * Shatara blinks. "But she's right over there...it's not like she periodically ceases to exist...right?"
- [2014-07-02 16:58:46] * Bookwright "Sometimes, I'm not so sure, Shatara."
- [2014-07-02 17:03:45] * CopyCat successfully binds her wing and gives Shatara a pained smile as her own feelings returned. "Get's happy from tinkering with those turrets. I don't want to have her worring about me just yet."
- [2014-07-02 17:03:47] * Bookwright "I mean, um. I'm not sure what I mean. I mean, I think if there weren't anyony else around, CopyCat wouldn't be around either."
- [2014-07-02 17:04:29] <Mare-Do-Well> 3CopyCat splits her wing just as Get_Lost showed her to.
- [2014-07-02 17:05:50] <Mare-Do-Well> 3There is a loud series of happy bleeps from the missile wagon.
- [2014-07-02 17:07:11] * Shatara gets the mental image of Get doing inappropriate things with the robot back there. He shakes the thought away and squeezes CopyCat.
- [2014-07-02 17:08:34] * Golden_Dream props herself up by a rock and hides her face in her hooves. Fuck her. She nearly killed Copycat, and now she doesn't have the strength to say she was sorry. How do you apologize to that? "Oh, sorry for almost killing you. Have a pie!" If she had left with Comfort, she wouldn't have ever hurt her.
- [2014-07-02 17:13:14] * CopyCat stops smiling suddenly and guilt flashes across her face. "This is all my fault. I saw the missile coming, I should have gotten out of the way. I'm so sorry Shatara, I made you catch me."
- [2014-07-02 17:14:05] * Bookwright "Golden, you can't blame yourself for an accident. Stuff like this happens. You weren't doing anything dangerous and you were taking precautions. You just had a little bad luck. We've got enough medical knowledge between us to make her fine again, and besides, she's an alicorn. She's tough."
- [2014-07-02 17:14:06] <Mare-Do-Well> 3Parlay emerges from the missile wagon, beeping.
- [2014-07-02 17:15:22] <Mare-Do-Well> 3(Parlay may now make Speech checks to attempt to read zebra glyphs. Parlay's Speech for this is 25. This Speech rating can be upgraded by feeding him information from more zebra terminals.)
- [2014-07-02 17:24:34] * Golden_Dream snapped. "Well fuckin' hell, obviously I didn't take enough fucking precautions t' protect th' folks in th' air when playin' with somethin' that was built specifically t' knock folks in th' air outta th' air! And she's an alicorn, but fer fuck's sake, she doesn't even have a full mind of her own! How do I go up t' that and tell her, hey, sorry fer nearly killin' y'!?"
- [2014-07-02 17:26:36] * Bookwright gestures. "She's over there. Why not try going up to her and saying sorry?"
- [2014-07-02 17:28:26] * Golden_Dream rubs her eyes and stomps her hooves. Stupid, stupid, stupid! "I'm real sorry, y' must be real reasonable right now, but I ain't feelin' in kind. I just..." She lets a venting sigh out. "I... Urgh. I ain't, just..."
- [2014-07-02 17:31:08] * Bookwright "Would you like a hug?"
- [2014-07-02 17:31:47] * Mare-Do-Well 3swoops about, looking for Golden_Dream. When she finds her, she swoops up. "Hey, that wasn't your fault."
- [2014-07-02 17:32:27] * CopyCat drags herself and Shatara over to the filly-shaped whirlpool of guilt. "I'm so sorry Golden_Dream. I wasn't paying attention, I should have gotten out of the way. Now I've made you all worry about me."
- [2014-07-02 17:34:17] * Golden_Dream nearly snaps once more. "It's my fuckin' fault fer-!" She caught herself before her voice cracked with the stress of saying it. "I... I'm actin' real immature and that ain't helpin' none. Copycat, you don't dare apologize. If there are blame t' throw around, it'd land on my tab fer lettin' that thing go."
- [2014-07-02 17:37:44] * Bookwright just hugs Golden_Dream.
- [2014-07-02 17:39:45] * CopyCat looks at Golden_Dream with tears in her eyes. "B-but I feel guilty!" she cries, putting her right hoof around Golden.
- [2014-07-02 17:40:04] * Mare-Do-Well 3sighs. (Or does a very good ghostly approximation.) "Hey, if it's blame you want, there's plenty to go around. Blame the zebras for making the damn thing. Blame me for sending Daring Do on a mission here rather than just carpet bombing the whole valley -- that would have taking care of these missiles long before you guys got here. Hell..."
- [2014-07-02 17:41:22] * Mare-Do-Well 3continues. "Blame this Jau zebra for having all these things stationed here doin' whatever she was hoping to do. ...Hell, blame the whole war and everyone involved."
- [2014-07-02 17:42:47] * Golden_Dream inhales. Exhales. She didn't stop the hurt, but it did push it back to a dull ache. "... Copycat, yer' feelin' guilty 'cause I'm feelin' /really/ guilty. Now... Why were y' in th' air, and who's Jau?"
- [2014-07-02 17:45:17] * Mare-Do-Well 3points at Golden_Dream's PipBuck. "Daring Do keeps mentioning her. Both in the story and in the mission reports. I know enough Daring Do to recognize the villain."
- [2014-07-02 17:49:05] * Mare-Do-Well 3double-checks. "Sorry, Jua." She mutters something about zebras not having proper names.
- [2014-07-02 17:49:33] * CopyCat fixes Golden_Dream with a teary-eyed stare. "Then the only way I'll feel better is if you feel better."
- [2014-07-02 17:51:49] * Golden_Dream bites her lips. She really wanted to tell her off in a blaze of self-deprecation, but her higher judgement finally won out. "CopyCat, please, why'd were y' up there?"
- [2014-07-02 17:56:57] * CopyCat glances over at Shatara. "We were trying to look at something in the distance. Mare-Do-Well pointed it out to Shatara but we couldn't get a better look ourselves."
- [2014-07-02 17:57:44] * Bookwright is intrigued. "Something, huh? Something alive?"
- [2014-07-02 17:58:55] * Shatara shrugs. "Dunno...couldn't get a good look before...well..."
- [2014-07-02 18:00:50] * Golden_Dream closes her eyes. "Let me tell y'all what we're gonna do. First, we're gonna ask that tiny little robutt what it was goin' nuts about. Then, we're gonna try t' track down that dot."
- [2014-07-02 18:04:32] * CopyCat sniffs, and nods.
- [2014-07-02 18:04:38] * Mare-Do-Well 3watches on, feeling a little guilty herself. CopyCat and Shatara were up in the air because she asked, after all.'
- [2014-07-02 18:05:41] * Bookwright "Okay, talk to robot, find flying speck. Awesome!"
- [2014-07-02 18:08:17] <Mare-Do-Well> 3--- End of Session ---
