My Fluffies and Me - Extra Chapter 2: Jokes

>Despite what many people seem to believe, fluffies have many ways to entertain themselves, even without toys. The majority of them, though, are simply something they “borrowed” from humans and modelled after the average fluffy’s mental schemes (or lack thereof), making these pastimes downright strange for the very species that invented them.
>Your fluffies, for example, sometimes love to tell each other knock knock jokes.
>How did they learn what a knock knock joke is? Beats you. Maybe Deep Purple’s previous owner told her a few and the thing apparently stuck.
>Right now Echoes, Pink Floyd and Deep Purple are sitting on their haunches on the living room floor; Echoes and Purple’s babies, now five days old, have been granted the permission to exit the safe room for the first time in their really short lives and are currently hugging each other in what probably is the littlest fluffpile ever at their mother’s feet.
>You are on the sofa, watching in mild amusement the three adult fluffies telling each other jokes… well, kinda.
> “‘nock ‘nock”. It’s Echoes’ turn, apparently.
>“Who dere?”, Pink and Purple diligently reply.
>“Yummy”.
>“Yummy who?”
>“Yummy sketti!”
>As you said, kinda. It’s not like they don’t have the grasp on the joke’s structure… More like they don’t know that a joke is supposed to be, you know, funny.
>Not like they themselves don’t find them funny, mind you. Pink is now rolling on her back, tears flowing from their eyes and an hysterical fit of laughter coming out of her mouth. “Dat… dat… mos’ funny joke eva!”, she exclaims, after she’s able to breath normally again.
>“My tuwn now!”, Purple happily proclaims. “’nock ‘nock!”.
>“Who dere?”.
>“Gud”.
>“Gud who?”
>“Gud bahbes!”
>This time, Pink nearly chokes herself while laughing. After you make sure she’s not in any danger, you decide to intervene. “Hey, daddy knows a joke too!”.
>The three ponies are ecstatic. “Wan’ heaw dahdeh joke, wan’ heaw dahdeh joke!”.
>“Okay”. You clear your throat and try desperately to stay serious. “Knock knock”.
>“Who dere?”
>”Special”.
>”Special who?”
>“Special huggies!”
>Pink starts laughing, but her eyes meet a stern gaze from Deep Purple and her laughter dies down in an embarrassed series of hiccups. Echoes just looks at you, then shakes his head slowly.
>You look at the fluffies, a puzzled expression on your face. “What? You didn’t get it?”.
>Deep Purple stares at you coldly. “Pwease dahdeh, no teww diwty jokies when bahbes wissen”.
