  3. Did I need a title?? Either way I rarely do outline-y things and I have to apologize; I have two polar opposite sides, one being "doesn't outline at all" or "gets probably a little too detailed with the outline"

  5. SUMMARY:
  6. Fukunaga is head-over-heels for a certain Ennoshita Chikara, and even though he isn’t much of a talker, he’s going to find a way to tell him someday, honestly, he swears. At least for now he’s comfortable working on a screenplay with him and writing diary entries like a lovesick teenage girl.

  12. PLOT OUTLINE:
  13. 1. Fukunaga goes to a university mixer at Taketora’s request, and meets Ennoshita there by chance. They’re both really bored and decide to ditch, and Fukunaga follows Ennoshita without any hesitation on account of a crush he had on him in high school.

  16. 2. Fukunaga and Ennoshita go out for pizza and discuss what they’ve been up to since graduation. Ennoshita convinces Fukunaga to help him out with a screenplay because although he doesn’t talk much, he loves words and writing.

  19. 3.Fukunaga goes back home to find Taketora siting on the couch. He’s a little upset because Taketora had decided to not show for the mixer, but forgives him when he learns that it’s because Taketora ran into “that hot asshole from Nohebi.”

  29. 7. In order to celebrate making it through their first week of classes, Taketora ends up getting Very Drunk, accidentally sending Daishou a compromising text complete with eggplant emojis. Fukunaga finds it funny and sends tons of pictures and videos to Ennoshita, who is stuck at home with his own roommate Yahaba.

  32. 8. Ennoshita and Fukunaga meet up in the library for another work session. Ennoshita picks on Fukunaga about his backstory because he thinks it could help him with the love interest in his screenplay who coincidentally also doesn’t talk much. Fukunaga refuses to reveal any information, much to Ennoshita’s dismay.

  34. 9. Text conversation between Ennoshita and Fukunaga about going to a party.

  36. 10. They go to the aforementioned party. While Ennoshita macks on some girl, Fukunaga awkwardly sits on a couch with a stoner who eventually gets pulled off by his sober friend. After the encounter, Fukunaga finds Ennoshita and they go home without the girl Ennoshita had been with earlier.

  39. 11. Ennoshita and Fukunaga walk home together. When they get to Ennoshita’s building, he sincerely apologizes about the girl he had been with. Fukunaga forgives him and they part ways. Ennoshita goes upstairs and feels very conflicted because he knows he was supposed to like kissing that girl, but he didn’t like it because spoiler alert he’s gay.

  41. 12. Text conversation between Fukunaga and Ennoshita about meeting up at Fukunaga’s place to work on the screenplay.

  43. 13. They work on the screenplay together while Taketora is off gallivanting with his boyfriend. Fukunaga finally reveals part of his Tragic Backstory.

  46. 14. Ennoshita reads the note that Fukunaga had given to him and doesn’t really know how to feel because it kind of is a Tragic Backstory? The readers digest version is that Fukunaga’s dad died in an accident when he was about seven, and he was bullied for a little while since other kids saw him as an easy target. Taketora told the bullies to back off and he ended up befriending Fukunaga, but he had already mostly sworn off talking because he didn’t want people to notice him enough to make fun of him.

  48. 15. Text conversation in which Ennoshita invites Fukunaga to a festival.

  50. 16. They go to the festival! It’s going really well until they’re heading home, walking down some stairs, and Fukunaga cracks a joke that makes Ennoshita laugh and say “I love you, man.” Because Fukunaga is completely ruined at this point, he nearly has a heart attack and falls down the stairs, twisting his ankle. Ennoshita practically has to carry Ennoshita home, and by the time they get there Taketora freaks out and makes Fukunaga lay down to rest. While Fukunaga is “asleep” he overhears Taketora having a discussion with Ennoshita which is basically “he’s like a brother to me, and I’m glad you helped him because I love him dearly and would hate to see him get hurt.”

  53. 17. Text conversation in which both Fukunaga and Ennoshita are in class, and it’s all about how Ennoshita doesn’t want to be there. Fukunaga chastises him.

  55. 18. After-class text conversation inviting Fukunaga over to Ennoshita’s place to work on the screenplay on Saturday night.

  57. 19. Saturday night, they work on the screenplay a little bit, but mostly get distracted by Yahaba, who is waiting to be picked up for a date.

  60. 20. Fukunaga gets home and realizes that his notebook is missing, cue frantic search.

  62. 21. Ennoshita returned the notebook to Fukunaga. He reveals that he read some of it, and Fukunaga is upset because a lot of that journal is really personal. Ennoshita claims that he only read one page, but enough to know that Fukunaga is gay and that he likes some unnamed boy. Ennoshita suggests that Fukunaga should tell this guy how he really feels but Fukunaga just ends up kicking him out.

  65. 22. Ennoshita tries contacting Fukunaga a few days later. Being ignored, he feels upset and wishes that he had just told Fukunaga that he knows how he feels then.

  67. 23. Fukunaga holes himself up in hs room and fels sad about losing Ennoshita over somethng so dumb.

  70. 24. Text conversation between Ennoshita and Tanaka about a party that the latter is throwing that Wednesday. Cue Ennoshita’s confusion: “why on earth would anybody want to come to a party on Wednesday night” but he decides to go even if he has class the following day.

  72. 25. Ennoshita goes to Tanaka’s party and because he’s feeling a little hopeless/abandoned he says yes to an offer from Tanaka, but then turns him down before anything can progress too far because he realizes he feels more strongly for Fukunaga than he thought in scene 22.

  74. 26. Fukunaga receives a phone call from Ennoshita asking if he can stay for the night because he’s a little drunk and a little lost and he doesn’t know who else to turn to. Fukunaga accepts without hesitation.
  75. Ennoshita crashes, and Fukunaga wonders what to do. He vows to explain everything to Ennoshita.

  78. 27. The following morning, Fukunaga writes a letter to Ennoshita and gives it to him when he wakes up. Ennoshita is touched by Fukunaga’s honesty, confesses as well, and then they smooch the end
