  18. To The Board of Trustees, WMF.
  19.
  20. Ladies and Gentlemen,
  21.
  22. I am NAME REMOVED, a registered member of Wikinews and Wikipedia, and I am writing you today over the current actions of the Founder, Mr Jimmy Wales, in respect of the Commons.wikimedia.org website.
  23.
  24. Whilst it is accepted across all the WMF projects that Mr Wales is a valued and mostly trusted face, and an active contributing member, some of his recent actions in unilaterally removing information and images from Commons public media database have caused much concern, including a public call from members of commons to have the database placed into lockdown.
  25.
  26. I appreciate Mr. Wales position as the founder of this great service, but I believe that his actions in performing this mass one man crusade have crossed the line. Because of his Global Founder rights, projects are unable to block him, and this has also lead to a couple of calls to strip him of such rights, and block him as a vandal, quoting double standards.
  27.
  28. It is therefore my request in this open letter to the Trustees to ask that Mr. Jimmy Wales be requested to surrender his Global Founder rights effective immediately, or to agree that he will not use this device without bilateral consensus from the projects,
  29.
  30. The general feeling I'm gauging certainly, is that some of his work is now crossing acceptable boundaries, and is in some cases, neither needed, or, with respect, welcomed.
  31.
  32. Thank you for your time, I welcome your reply.
  33.
  34. Respectfully,
  35. NAME REMOVED TO PRESERVE SANITY
