  1. A grey-haired man sat down at a table in his home. A dull brown carpet and small wooden table accompanied by him, his red seat and the empty green chair that sat across from him. A dull knocking at the door rang. He returned to the table with a pizza in a box, and set blue plates down by both ends. Another knock, some words of exchange, and another pepper-haired man sat down alongside him.
  2.
  3. "I see you haven't aged so well Jeremy" Fritz spoke.
  4. "And I see you haven't polished your manners" Jeremy retorted with a smirk
  5. "Well after working together for so long I don't think there's any reason to be so formal."
  6. "Right, yeah..."
  7. "What's the matter?"
  8. " 'Foxy was her favorite' "
  9. "Aw heck, I know it ended pretty bad but at least they were still alive man."
  10. "Well yeah but how's a mom supposed to be a parent missing half her mind?"
  11. "She has a strong family, their dad's proud of their kids and that mom is still pretty happy."
  12. "Then I guess it turned out okay." Jeremy took a deep breath and exhaled "Anyway, how's being a mechanic for those robots?"
  13. "I got moved up to designing them actually!" Fritz cheerily declared
  14. "That's wonderful, where are my manners? I ordered some pizza earlier, help yourself."
  15. Fritz nodded and helped himself to two slices.
  16. "So Jeremy, how's life as a robophile?"
  17. Jeremy coughed on his pizza, taking the time to stabilize himself before speaking. "It's been 30 years and you're STILL going on about that? It was one time!"
  18. "Yeah sure." Fritz dismissed "Speaking of robots, did you hear? They've remodeled that place into a spook house."
  19. "What? After all that crap they still haven't just burned that building to the ground? What's this world coming to...?"
  20. "I know right? Some strange guy's been ordering collector's pieces of all those old robots."
  21. "I didn't even realize people collected pieces of junk from a murder scene."
  22. "I talked with him over the phone, he uses that slang the weird kids would say at school."
  23. "As though you weren't one of them."
  24. "Hey man I had standards when I was a dumb kid."
  25. "Right, you mentioned you were designing?"
  26. "Oh! Yeah they got us working on some neat stuff, we're not focusing on those spring-loaded locking mechanisms for the suits anymore since they figured out that it was safer and easier to just wear an empty suit. Go figure right?"
  27. "Why would anybody get into those anyway? Those things were never stable."
  28. "Beats me, nobody did so it was just kinda useless to have."
  29.
  30. The two took a moment of silence to continue eating. Fritz coughed first.
  31. "So you haven't told me what you've been up to all these years?"
  32. "Oh, I've been looking for work. Most of the jobs as security have been taken. I didn't have much luck applying to the other Freddy's after we left since some older guy in a wheelchair refused to budge."
  33. "Black security suit and crutches on his lap?"
  34. "What, you know him too?"
  35. "Well yeah, Mike used to work at our place for a bit. He was in that other Freddy's long enough to lose his legs and life working there."
  36. "Fuck sake, is everyone involved with Freddy's just nuts or something?"
  37. Fritz simply shrugged.
  38. "Anyway, security wasn't working but I did manage to work my way up to manage the local Freddy-err, Fred Meyers."
  39.
  40. Fritz, who was chewing, simply nodded with a thumbs-up. He took the time to finish his bite.
  41. "So wanna head down to the spook house sometime? Might be worth a trip down memory lane"
  42. "...You know what? Why not. Do you have the time?"
  43. "It's...about six. Pretty good time to go right now actually."
  44. "Alright, give me a second and we can go."
  45. Jeremy put away the rest of the pizza in the fridge, put a jacket on and the two men left.
  46.
  47. Four hours passed, the door opened, a cheery goodbye shouted from the front door before promptly shutting the door. The grey-haired man pushed the chairs in and cleaned up the dishes. He checked the window.
  48.
  49. "Excellent" Jeremy stated, as he opened the closet. A yellow animatronic robot with a pink-painted waist emerged. "I swear if he found out about this I'd never hear the end of it..." Jeremy shuddered to imagine the consequences of his friend's incessant teasing. He cuddled up with the smuggled beakless chicken and fell asleep.
