Are we spending too much time with our noses in our phones, growing more and more isolated from our flesh-and-blood peers? Does the internet's unfettered freedom of speech – and I realize I say that while I have you all muted – insulate us too deeply from the very real consequences of that speech? Are we so overstimulated by the pace of modern life, the constant bombardment of mass media, that we become numb to it all, and seek out anger-inducing arguments as a way of stirring our passions again?,
HeirToHien: I would say yes to all of those. However, I also have a question: Who benefits from such chaos and discord? When all of us fight amongst ourselves, who is there watching, looking for ways to exploit our anger, our confusion? Could certain parties be out there working in the shadows, provoking and prolonging such conflicts for their own purposes? Not ordinary trolls of the kind we've all seen, mind you, but grand scale villains, the kind only we have been trained to face?,
