  1. Explanation of the new Click Clock Wood Flower Glitch (and FAQ):
  2.
  3. Q: What is this glitch?
  4.
  5. A: In spring, even after initially blooming the flower, you can poop (or shoot) eggs into the hole if you re enter spring. The hitbox is not there directly after the initial bloom, so you cannot do this straight away, but the hitbox reappears if you leave and come back. If you enter and exit spring three times and poop eggs into the flower, you can actually spawn the flower jiggy in spring which is meant to be done in fall (and you don't need Gobi at all!). However, since the game is not meant to spawn the jiggy in spring, the game does not know what to do after the jiggy spawns because it is trying to find the code that loads the Gobi text where he says he is off to the "lava world" because Gobi never appears in spring. Essentially, your game softlocks with the camera stuck in a fixed position.
  6.
  7. However there is a way around this. There is a glitch known in this game where if you take damage during certain cutscenes, you can move during them. Conveniently, there is a beehive nearby with bees flying around it. If you use those bees to damage yourself just after starting the cutscene, you can move around while the camera is in a fixed position. Be careful not to use C up during this, because if you do there is no getting out of it and you are softlocked again. From here, you can either navigate to the exit of spring and come back, or you can proceed to Mumbo's Hut. Once you re enter spring either way, the jiggy will be there on the flower for you to collect.
  8.
  9. Q: So....how does this save time then?
  10.
  11. A: Originally when this glitch was found, I thought it to be useless because the idea was "oh, you can spawn the jiggy and get it without Gobi, that's cool." But that would be slower because this would require an extra trip to spring. Also, I did not know that you could enter and exit Mumbo's Hut to reverse the glitch. Conveniently, entering Mumbo's is required in the 100% route to get the bee.
  12.
  13. This saves time for a couple reasons. First, you can skip Gobi in fall and you don't have to watch that cutscene which is 20 something seconds. You cannot skip Gobi in summer because then he won't be there in fall, and you need to use him once. Second, since you can move during the cutscene of the jiggy spawning in spring, this is just straight up less movement required. Additionally, you skip a jiggy dance by collecting it as the bee, and the flower jiggy is conveniently right next to the beehive, which is the end of the level with the current route. If executed perfectly, this saves 20 seconds (though this would save like 45 seconds over the very very old click clock wood route). Because of the difficulty of the trick, you won't save that much most of the time however.
  14.
  15. Q: How could you possibly navigate to Mumbo's Hut without knowing where Banjo is?
  16.
  17. A: There are some weird nuances when this glitch occurs and the camera is locked.
  18. - Once the camera locks, Banjo is invulnerable.
  19. - You can hear actors that make noise, but you cannot interact with them (such as the wading boots). You can only interact with loading zones and water.
  20. - Holding one direction on the joystick will always make Banjo move at the same facing angle. If you draw an imaginary line from the spring entrance towards the flower, this would represent the "Y axis", and another line from Mumbo's through Gnawty's, this would represent the "X axis". These also correspond to the directions on your joystick. So, no matter where you are in the level, holding left on the joystick will always make Banjo move in a line that is parallel to the imaginary "X axis". This helps understand how to move around. I found this out on emulator using memory hacking software to track my facing angle.
  21. - You can use audio cues too because you can hear things like the environment Banjo is stepping on, and actors like the boots and the whipcrack. The sound for those 2 things specifically will always come out of your left earphone, because the game still thinks Banjo is at the flower.
  22. - You can memorize specific numbers of well-timed jumps to get to certain locations, which is what current runners use when they do this in runs.
  23.
  24. Q: Wow this is crazy is this a new glitch? Who found it?
  25.
  26. A: I actually remember discovering as a kid that you can poop eggs into the flower in spring even after the jiggy has already been collected, but this merely produces a comical graphical glitch. Ezazar was the one who initially discovered that you can get the jiggy without using Gobi at all, and I came up with the implementation into the current route. From there, various runners devised strats to be able to navigate to Mumbo's Hut.

  31. These are the two videos of Ezazar finding that you can leave and re enter spring with the camera locked and pointing out that the jiggy is there to be collected. Notice how the description says "completely useless trick".
  32.
  33. I think not.
