Just got back in from Hyper Japan. Not only did I get to play both versions of the game (which are both extremely fun), I also participated in and won a Super Smash Bros. for Wii U tournament at the event, so Nintendo are sending me the 3DS version on launch day. Amazing day out. :D

My overall impression of the game is very positive. In the eight minutes I had with the game, I can honestly say that I had more fun than I had with Brawl. I had pretty low expectations for the 3DS version going in to the event, but after spending some time with it I think it's a solid game and I'm really looking forward to it. The Wii U version is on another level, though. It looks phenomenal in person, there's a noticeable difference in air speed from Brawl and playing with the Gamecube controller feels as great as ever. I was hyped before, but now I really can't wait for this game.
