  1. 69ron: MDMA EFFECTS FROM SASSAFRAS/GERMAN CHAMOMILE/CINNAMON
  2.
  3. For those of you that are unaware, MDMA is primarily manufactured from the safrole found in sassafras essential oil.
  4.
  5. Many bioassays of sassafras and even pure safrole show little activity. Usually a slight sedative effect, and very mild MDMA-like effect might be felt if you’re lucky. Although a few people report almost full blown MDMA-like effects from sassafras as is, most people get no effects. This points in the direction of human metabolism altering the effects of safrole.
  6.
  7. I once tried sassafras with a CYP1A2 inhibitor: German chamomile. This experiment produced stimulant effects unlike the effects had from just sassafras alone. There was mild euphoria, and some possible mild visuals effects.
  8.
  9. Safrole is primarily inactivated by conversion into 1-hydroxysafrole by CYP2A6. German chamomile primarily inhibits CYP1A2, so I was using the wrong inhibitor, but it was somewhat effective.
  10.
  11. Cinnamon bark oil is a potent CYP2A6 inhibitor. This should theoretically prevent CYP2A6 from turning safrole into 1-hydroxysafrole.
  12.
  13. My theory is that about 2-5 grams of cinnamon, or 5-10 drops of cinnamon essential oil will contain enough cinnamaldehyde to inhibit CYP2A6 and allow MDMA-like effects to be experienced from sassafras or sassafras oil.
  14.
  15. This is only a theory. As of yet I have not tried this. I will try this very soon. Incidentally, it is the 1-hydroxysafrole which is primarily formed by CYP2A6 which is considered weakly carcinogenic and not safrole itself. So by using cinnamon oil, the weak potential carcinogenicity of safrole should be greatly reduced.
  16.
  17. For his test I plan on using German chamomile oil at 3 drops along with the cinnamon bark oil at 6 drops. I will use sassafras bark, freshly ground, extracted into milk with lecithin, just like how you make kava. This is the best way to extract the safrole without using a solvent. I will take the sassafras milk and the oils at the same time. Hopefully this produces an MDMA-like effect. We will see.
  18.
  19. I used 5 grams of sassafras bark, 1 gram of lecithin, ground to powder, then mixed with 1 cup of steaming hot milk and 2 ml of vegetable oil. This was left to sit for 2 hours and was then filtered. It was super hard to filter. Decanting would be a better idea.
  20.
  21. I then mixed 6 drops of cinnamon bark oil and 3 drops of German chamomile oil into it. The German chamomile would not mix into it and just floated to the top. I mixed it as good as I could and drank it down.
  22.
  23. Its been about 3 hours and I feel NICE. There's very obvious euphoria. Sense of touch is enhanced. I feel good. There's no sedation felt at all. It’s mildly psychedelic.
  24.
  25. This seemed to work. But I don’t know what MDMA really feels like so I can’t compare it to MDMA. It does feel like a phenethylamine though. It’s very different from taking sassafras on its own.
  26.
  27. This is a light dose. I think 10-20 grams of bark would be much better.
  28.
  29. If you try it once and it doest work, try again. Change the parameters. Try to use a larger amount of cinnamon bark oil, and a larger amount of German chamomile oil. You need a specific amount or it doesn’t work cause safrole gets turned into 1-hydroxy-safrole unless CYP1A2 and CYP2A6 are fully inhibited. The amount of inhibitors needed is going to vary from person to person. I need only 3 drops of German chamomile oil and 5 drops of cinnamon bark oil. Some people will need quite a bit more.
  30.
  31. In playing around with methyl chavicol, my friends just found out it’s better to pre-dose the inhibitors, don’t take them at the same time as the psychedelic oil. I’m not sure what the best pre-dose timing is. They tried 30 minutes just today as a pre-dose with the inhibitor oils and that seems to work better than taking the inhibitor oils with the methyl chavicol. I’ll bet the same applies to safrole and elemicin.
  32.
  33. I’ll start pre-dosing as well. I noticed that when using chamomile oil instead of chamomile tea the inhibition was more iffy. I am sure this is because of the timing involved. When I put the methyl chavicol and the chamomile oil in the same capsule, they are released in the stomach at the same time. But when I use chamomile tea with a capsule filled with methyl chavicol, the tea is digested before the capsule opens, so I was in effect pre-dosing the inhibitor. So that’s why the tea method worked better. Anyway my friends confirmed that pre-dosing by 30 minutes with the inhibitor oils works much better. Maybe 1 hour is even better?
  34.
  35. Please someone who’s familiar with MDMA try this out with sassafras. Take the time to get it working. Don’t try it once and give up. I got it working on the first try, but that was because I already know how much inhibitors my body needs. Each person is different.
  36.
  37. If you get slight sedative effects like that of normal sassafras tea, the inhibitor doses are too weak, double the inhibitor doses. The difference when it works is huge. It’s quite stimulating. You feel comfortable around people. There’s mild psychedelic effects. It’s similar to how I hear people describe MDMA. When you don’t take enough inhibitors, it’s just a mild sedative effect no matter how much sassafras tea you drink. The key is in finding the right inhibitor dose for your body. Once you know that, it should work.
  38.
  39. With German chamomile, I know you can take as much as 30 grams safely, maybe even a lot more. With the oil that comes to 18 drops of oil. This only inhibits CYP1A2. I need only 3 drops for full CYP1A2 inhibition. Some other people might need 2-3 times as much. With 18 drops being a known safe high dose of oil, that’s 6 times the dose I’m using, so I’m sure 18 drops would probably inhibit CYP1A2 in everyone reading this thread, if taken say 30 minutes before taking the sassafras.
  40.
  41. Cinnamon is critical for this because it inhibits CYP2A6. That enzyme is more important to inhibit in the case of safrole metabolism. Cinnamon is a little more toxic than German chamomile. I’m not sure what the maximum safe dose is. I’ve taken up to 10 drops of cinnamon oil and it hardly does much on its own, just a mild stimulant effect, some mild euphoria, and it makes you a little warm. It’s very mild. I could imagine taking twice that dose is probably safe. But I don’t know.
  42.
  43. One source says that, “cinnamon oil is generally used at a dose of 0.05 to 0.2 g daily”. 0.2 grams is about 7 drops of cinnamon oil. If that dose is a typical dose, I’m sure one could easily take twice that dose without problems. I wish I knew the maximum safe dose of cinnamon, but I don’t. If I knew it for the powder, I could calculate the amount in terms of the oil easily. But I don’t. I can’t find that information. I’m still searching for it.
  44.
  45. There is a known case of a child taking 60 ml of cinnamon oil. He experienced "vomiting, diarrhea, and loss of consciousness", but the child recovered. 60 ml is about 2250 drops. That's 375 times the dose I'm using and I'm an adult. So I figure I'm well within the safe dosage range at 6 drops.
