  1. It was just another day for Raeth, another day within the forest outskirts around Byson. The young Urayan had become acclimated to the surrounding areas, as this had been where he had been training for the past two weeks, and off-and-on four years of his life. Raeth's purpose for being here wasn't training or enlightenment - the boy had a much more simple reason for his trek off into the forests, and that was for some relaxation. as strictly adherent as Raeth might have been, he needed relaxation at times and there was no finer a place to gain it than here. Something about the forest always seemed to relax the Urayan despite what dischord might be at the center of his heart.
  2.
  3. This day was like any other, he was fuming about the display within the centre street of Bison, the dark witch who called upon her strange religion in which she believed that she had to save the souls of all by killing them and referred to her god - an unknown name to the Urayan as he only followed the religion of Uray. Whatever nonsense she spout was downright heretical, and Raeth wanted to knock some sense into her or rid Byson of another dark caster - however this was not meant to be. Even after, these dark thoughts which had gotten the best of him even though Raeth was a Urayan, proving they were not impervious to negative emotions.
  4.
  5. Raeth knew not even an Urayan or a Kraus such as him was perfect and he couldn't always control himself, however he almost always seemed to be calm regardless of the situation and rarely became unhinged. As to why this girl unhinhed the Urayan, Raeth would never know, however he did know that she would never get such a charge out of him again. Once you had fooled him once, Raeth always caught on as it was part of his gift of photographic memory or near-photographic memory. Regardless, she wouldn't rile him up once more, no matter what she did form hereon out. Raeth was always a pillar of selflessness, and followed the virtues of Temperance, Kindness, and Humility to whatever extent he could.
  6.
  7. With a tumult of emotions within his mind, Raeth didn't notice what was on the ground and nearly overstepped or stepped on the creature, however his senses soon came ot himas he pushed the thoughts which currently plagued his mind to the back of his mind's recesses. Now that hsi focused had shiften to the material, he noticed the falcon which laid spread-eagled before him... dead. It seemed that magic was the cause of the majestic creature's death. Such a creature... it was an affront to nature itself to kill the bird, and Raeth could telll that occultic magic did this... His anger grew as he stood there, trembling...
  8.
  9. A slight sound pricked at the ears of Raeth and drew his attention from the anger, as his anger entirely washed away. 'Are her children still alive?' flashed through Raeth's mind as he focused his hearing, and noticed the chirps. Raeth quickly hinged himself to the tree and began to climb the thick, tall tree's expanse, until he came before a matted and wet next. Among the nest were four eggs, and there seemed to be bent straw where three other eggs lay in the past. Only one falcon egg survived, it seemed. Raeth quickly took the egg into his coat and quickly leapt down to the ground near the base of the tree.
  10.
  11. "What am I going to do with this Egg... what can I do. I'll raise it." Raeth demanded to himself, knowing it was the only right decision. He quickly ran from the forest and back towards Byson, while knowledge of what a baby Falcon would need to survive until it was out of it's infancy. It was raining, though that didn't seem to mind for Raeth, as he made his way inside a shop, ordering all the items required to build an incubator, enough food to last four years, and some other misc items. Once he had everything, raeth made his way to the inn room he rented, and set everything up, though it took a good hour until a superior quality incubator was settled on his table, with the egg sitting there.
  12.
  13. One day, a miracle happened, Raeth was returning to his room after hunting Yokai in the surrounding area of the forest and had returned exhausted and wounded to a minor extent, though it didn't seem to deter the urayan's spirit and didn't seem to mind the wounds. As he was setting down his shredded brown hunting jacket, Raeth caught a sight out of the corner of his eye. Raeth noticed the baby chick who now fluttered around the quilted brown bed of Raeth's apartment. Questions instantly caught Raeth's mind like how the falcon hatched and how it got to his bed, however an answer soon found itself in the shoddy covering of the incubator.
  14.
  15. The chick looked to Raeth for a moment, looking to him with it's miraculous crystal blue eyes for a moment before issueing a few squeeks and hopped over to Raeth, able to jump up high and hover for the moment. Already, a thought flooded the insides of Raeth's mind - those which didn't belong to him and he instantly knew that the chick was hungry. Setting her down on ground for safety's sakes, Raeth quickly poured some wet food onto a platter and set it down. He watched at the chick as she quickly devoured half of her food in a seried of gulps. She was the most beautiful sight Raeth had seen as far as creatures of the animal kingdom with snow white feathers with black underbelly, a black beak, and crystal blue eyes. Raeth decided to name her Crystal.
  16.
  17. Instantly, an irrefutable bond had grown between the two, as Raeth was not only friend but parental figure to the young chick. He was simply drawn in amazement at the majestic snow falcon, though coming to his senses long enough to settle down a small dish filled with clear water and a piece of ice. Raeth sat down, watching the chick as it curiously edged around the room in infinite discovery. Even so young, Crystal was smart, and Raeth knew that his bonded falcon was smarter than any other forest animal of animal-level intellect, and knew they had a somewhat empathic bond - the two. "You're name is Crystal... and I'm your father Raeth"
  18.
  19. walks up from the southern gates leading within the city of Frostvale, quickly making his way to the side of his sister while knocking snow off the thock, white boots of his uniform. Raeth gives a quick discerning look to her, followed by a warm smile as he rests a hand on her shoulder to support her.
  20.
  21. Knocking the snow sodden upon his white boots into a nearby pile aside the streets of Frostvale, Raeth casually made his way into the town and upon the town's main throughfare road with a casual speed in his step. Raeth continued walking forwards until his eyes fell upon the row of market stalls and the statue of Jetniss within the center of town, while releasing a mighty roar of a yawn. The past month or so had been very fruitful in it's endeavour, thought, Raeth - he could use a little break.
  22.
  23. A quick glance was all it took to asess the situation, as Raeth's eyes were trained with that of his falcon Crystal regularly - he tended to notice things quickly. A long, pristine white hankerchief was quickly procured and handed to the ookami in quick succession as clear, dulcet tone rung out, "I apologize about that! I wasn't keeping my eyes up and alert and I apologize."
  24.
  25. Raeth helped clean the Ookami down from the soupy liquid if he wished, taking a spare hankerchief to do so, however he wouldn't if the brown-haired young man wished to do so alone. Regardless, as soon as it was done, a tightly-wrapped bowl of ramen was procured form Raeth, and offered to Kumo in a peace offering. "I am Raeth, once again I apologize."
  26.
  27. An initial glance over the older man might have procured the appearance of a more professional and aloof figure, but Raeth seemed to quickly disprove this assumption with his own string of appologies. And a hankerchief. Shaking his head with a laugh, Kumo permitted the assistance and began to pick noodles off his skin with a touch of difficulty.
  28.
  29. "No, really, it's alright," he chuckled, giving a hard tug in order to dislodge a noddle that had, by some chance, wormed its way into his left ear. "This actually happens quite often, so I'm used to it. Ah-" he flicked the noddle away, brushing his hand off on his coat and holding it out. "Nice to meet you. I'm Kumo," he replied. The hand on inspection seemed to have taken little effect from his cleaning efforts, coated in dust and dirt and noodle sauce and trembling, pink at the edges from cold. Indeed, an overall look showed the Ookami probably hadn't had a decent bath in a long while.
  30.
  31. He'd remain with a hand extended and a warm, carefree smile. The kind only a child or those innocent of worldly troubles could produce.
  32. (Kumo)
  33. [08:24:16] The soft snow met underneath the clodden sandals of ceramic white, worn by Raeth. The sounds of the pitter-patter echoing from the footsteps formed a melody of some sorts. He enjoyed the feeling of the cold air on his form, however Raeth wasn't out hise on some winter stroll. He had other means for this stroll, and it brought him to a nestle of trees along the right riverbank. It was here, that his reason awaited.
  34.
  35.
  36.
  37. Eventually, Raeth would make his way to the spot which an Oracle has foretold to his. Raeth reached deep into the packed snow and clenched -something- deep down within. As his hand reeled up, the glint of a metal chain could be seen. With a swift tug, Raeth began pulling the chain. some meters below his feet, the snow began to sift to the sides as the rumbling issued forth.
  38.
  39.
  40.
  41. After having expended a deal of his stamina to pull the chain, finally, an enclosed stone tablet could be seen gradually being dragged to the surface, and would eventually come to the surface altogethis. Small beadlets of sweat dropped down his countenance.
  42.
  43. Raeth had no time to rest, this was what he had come for. Raeth quickly grasped the tablet with both hands, and with his powerful arm muscles, hefted the top of the tablet off. The top which had kept the contents sealed until now slew back, over his head, and smahed into the ground just before the tree behind his.
  44.
  45.
  46.
  47. Finally, the white-clad man delved into the tablet's innards, whise the object of his interest lay. This tablet had been hidden by the snow for a long time, belonging to a friend of his ancestors, and it was now seen fit for Raeth to delve upon the contents himself. When he withdrew, twelve shards of pristine silver steel like that of a sword's blade were in his hands.
  48.
  49. Perhaps the older man was usually aloof and professional, however he was all nerves at the moment due to the birth of his nephew just recently, and it wasn't going well for Raeth's usual disposition. Regardless, his calm demeanor soon returned once the ookami had refused his nrequest to help clean the noddles from his face. Raeth gave a slight crook of his arm, slightly tucking it right in-front of his ribcage as he took to a gentlemanly bow while simply saying, "Ah, a pleasure to make your acqaintance Kumo."
  50.
  51. Raeth reached into a brown leather satchel, revealing the contents held firmly within the hands bound in a blue cloth and tied together like a pouch. Once the pouch was manifested from the satchel, Raeth quickly shifted down onto the cold flagstone road of Frostvale, a quick flick of the wrist untying the cloth and causing it to spill forth, revealing shards that once made a weapon, now broken. The shards seemed to be in extremely well condition and had the glow of mithril about them, but moreso the glow of magic.
  52.
  53. The shards indeed seemed odd, however even moreso was the blue-hued cross with golden embellishments that lay within the centre of the pile, and the small talisman with the dogma of Elaedec upon it, also within the center of the pile. Both seemed to be more than they initially were at first glance. "I was able to find this thanks to the help of a friend... what do you make of it?"
  54.
  55. Raeth quickly bound the pieces - all but the talisman - into the cloth and tied it up tightly into a bag, depositing it once more into satchel along his side - Raeth knew that he was meant to find the shattered blade, that he was meant to take this guest as if it had been ordained directly by the gods themselves - perhaps specifically Elaedac and now, he had to continue with the Oracle's quest for him which specifically meant seeking out a sign from his god and perform other acts which would seem like a mircle in the making and quite impossible to most.
  56.
  57. Raeth gave a quick nod and headed off to Reia's smithy now, in an attempt to nip the chore in the budd before heading out to continue his quest, however before he did he returned his sister's hug tightly and warmly befpore giving a peck on the cheek. Raeth took a meandering look to the priest, remaining silent for the moment - yet hoping the priest had seen and heard all of that.
  58.
  59. The slander that Queen Ria had been killed had managed to reach the Alarn's ears on routine patrol across the wide opening of the Keep's entrance despite the fact that he was a Sacred Knight and Urayan, the knight alarn wanted only to protect his home. As the slander eached his ears, the slim hand-and-half sword at his side slid free of it's black scabbard in a sibilant schliing! Raeth wasn't a part of Nivis, so he had no right to order them around burt by the same token he wouldn't allow any perpetrator to escape.
  60.
  61. Soon after, words of false alarm came about, that Ria was fine and she was dead after-all, and this visibly relaxed the Alarn as he stepped slightly behind and to the right of his siter while sword was still drawn in Frostvale's defense - such slander could easily be used to weaken defense for a real assailant to enter the keep! This was when Nowa approached. As she spoke with Reia, raeth stood in the back ground, giving a nod of confirmation to the truth of Reia's story. Quickly after, the sword return to it's scabbard seamlessly.
  62.
  63. The bright blue and silver form of the Sacred Knight known as Alarn Raeth Klaus walked along the flagstone-embedded walkway streets of Frostvale, the majestic blue and purple bastard-sword sheathed at his side in a black leather baldric while the aging warrior patrolled the streets of Frostvale despite being of the Sacred Knights and not of the Draco Nicis - the warrior knew that frostvale was his home and knew that even as a citizen and not a guard, he could do something. It was Elaedac's will to serve the law.
  64.
  65. Thoughtless service was interrupted by the Oscuri, not even having noticed her appearance until now. The Urayan knew the depraved race known as the Oscuri only from myth and legend, however her appearance fit what he had heard. Still, the Urayan knew of temperance and humility and didn't hold past grudges for past ffenses upon the descendants of ancestors and yadda yadda yadda, however he simply wouldn't stand by while being attack.
  66.
  67. The shining steel bastard-sword was withdrawed almost automatically with a reflexive flick of the wrist, holding the blade up into a defensive posturing to absorb some of the blow, while lightning static began to condense along the blade's length. He did not wish to fight, however he would not go down without a fight. What's more, the Alarn was in Frostvale - his 'Home', the Nivis wouldn't allow a citizen to be assaulted without coming out of the woodwork. "Halt now, and I will let you go. Continue on this path and I will show you the retribution of Elaedac."
  68.
  69. The brawl... well, the brawl had been long and painful an ordeal, however the Urayan was prepared for pain. It went out something like this - cowardly Oscuri running just out of blade's reach, though the alarn had managed to nick her with his sword a few times, exchanges of magical projectiles back and forth between each other, a few seconds spent as the Oscuri ran away in cowardice to draw upon his connection to the divine power of Elaedac to close his wounds, rinse and repeat roughly twenty times. The final blow, though, had been when she sent a twister barreling at his body, spurning him away into the snow. Injured and without mana to call upon his god to close his wounds, Raeth bled out on the snowy tundra, collapsed.
  70.
  71. He didn't even notice the Draco Nivis approaching, however he knew that they were there - his hearing still worked fine even after being buffeted by wind repeatedly, quite the little miracle. Still, Raeth knew that while he was in no threat of death by bleeding out, he was in no condition to stand and so he layed there with the fury of Elaedac written upon his countenance. It took a time for his heat to die out as he remembered he was in the presence of the guards of his home, and so he composed himself before speaking.
  72.
  73. "I a'n the one t'at started the brawl, b't I'll end it. I ha' no intentions to end the Oscuri's life or to continue further complications... I am t' in'ured t' move, 'neways." he said simply, awaiting healers or whatever with hidden contempt for the Oscuri. Her appearance, physical details, and information were now stored within his manubrium, the Urayan would have justice another due time, patience was a virtue. He wasn't strong enough at the moment anyway, regardless of what he may or may not wish, but now he had a goal in mind and he wouldn't let it go.
  74.
  75. Ria Renato was one of us, one of the people - not some high and mighty Pure-Blood Drakanite with a Drakan-Only superiority, and whats more those who witnessed the conflict with Myrddraal all say the same thing - that it was an honorable duel for the crown and that it was an honorable death - ye tthe crowd now invadng Frostvale said the exact opposite, so the Urayan's belief of the actual factual rendition of what happened was to that of Ria's side of the events, what's more, depraved mages using unholy magic supported the reign of Sereza, so a quick quip was prepared. "Sure, I'll side with the rightful ruler as soon as she puts the depraved occultic mages that side with her just to bring Frostvale, the bastion of goodness, down a peg; to the sword, and as soon as she shows that she can be trusted to do more than Drakan Superioity Drakan Forever, just as past rulers have. This isn't an ascension a transcendance, or even a revolution, this is a return to the kings and queens of old, beluieving they were above everyone by their race and so-called purity only. When that changes, it will be a true revolution. Until then, don't waste my breath."
  76.
  77. The Alarn's hand fumbled downwards towards the cusp of the baldric at his side, trembling as he knew he would die before this woman was put on the throne simply by her company. As to those who joined her side from the Nivis, those who had sided with Ria only earler - traitors in the purest regard. Raeth had no mercy... He quickly qithdrew the hand-and-hald sword from it's scabbard, steel blade ringing out, hands steady. Whatever happened, he would stand with the true Nivis, Elysion and Nowa and the others.
  78. (Raeth Klaus)
  79.
  80. "Brook no evil, and we are as brothers. Brook evil, and I shalt become thy greatest nemesis." Raeth chanted, speaking the liturgies of the Urayan Faith in tone, the voice of faith with him. It was clear that this man was highly faithful and rightfully so, however his faith was that of Uray, not to Ryujin. whether his friend knew the difference, he could not say.
  81.
  82. "Greetings, Honoo, I am Raeth Klaus, Alarn of the Sacred Knights of Uray. Alarn simply means 'Sergeant' in the Urayan tongue." He said simply, a visible sight of relief on his features that he didn't have toslay a priest of Ryujin. "Very well, sounds good and well, what did you have in mind?"
  83.
  84. The majestic blade of the purple and silver-hued majestic sword cleaved through the black, depraved forms of the Tera Yokai as holy magic flared along the length of the white sword and released into the body-cavity of the Yokai, releasing a burst of holy magic while tearing into the form of the Tera Yokai at the same time. The depraved demon bursts into dark fumes as it 'died' in some sense, and Raeth quickly layed his mana upon himself - closing his wounds and healing himself in shirt bursts as he seemed to be taking the brunt of the damage.
  85.
  86. The image of Honoo swinging through a crowd of Yokai filled Raeth's vision as blood seeped form his body and re-sealed into the hole it came from as the wound closes and clotted, then removed any trace of a scar along his form via the powerful healing spell. Raeth raised his hand swiftly and released a burst of heals towards Honoo, who was know fighting three of 'em as the yokai burst out of the woodwork.
  87.
  88. This was enough. Raeth raised his sword high then plunged it straight down into the stone until it touched rock, pressing against and welling the sacred energy into his blade, before releasing it into a massive field of holy damage, chanting words of prayer as he released his benedition. The three fighting Honoo instantly turned to puff.
  89.
  90. "Came to Frostvale as a kid, eh? Yes, Frostvale is quite racist against the other races, but that's started to change, so you should stick around and become a local priest of the Ryujin temple and serve the flock, friend." He said, withdrawing a white and blue tome while speaking with religious fervor, "And Elaedac said, 'no crime shall go unpunished, no act unrelinquished, no evil cleasned, so long as you believe in the faith of the Uray, serve the Uray with your blood, sweat and tears, and always do the work of the righteous flame.' and so it came to pass that when acts of particular barbarism and evil were commited, those with the 'Rage of Elaedac' were known to come forth in her name, filled with her righteous flame."
  91.
  92. "I see we both have righteous fervor in our belief in our gods, which is interesting. I'd like to see the battle of a righteous priest-knight of Elaedec and a holy war-priest of Ryujin. would you like to indulge in a friendly training spar, friend Honoo? Perhaps we could both learn something from each other." He said simply, withdrawing the lizardscale (though not dragonscale) satchel at his side and held it aloft, awaiting a answer.
  93.
  94. "Very well, I have also honed and perfected my own style, to a degree... though you know what they say, nothing's perfect - there's always room to learn and master new things." He said simply, reaching to the galdric alongside his right leg of black leather, hands caressing the hilt of the majestic-looking sword found within. A quick flick of the wrist withdrew the sword, which rung out with a sibilant cry and then was whisked to just behind Raeth in a flourishing movement of the hand along with the flick.
  95.
  96. Raeth slid his right knee down low, forward and agressive ad his left leg was planted slightly behind his frame vertically. A gauntleted and mailed arm raise before his ribcage and arced upwards at a slight angle, hovering over them while his prominent hand holding the sword was held under the other arm, edge and blade in a straight point towards Honoo, as a chill wind billowed between them and tussled his robes slightly.
  97.
  98. Sparks of lightning began to coalesced along his for, shaping together and forming writhing currents of electricity which chanced along his full length while the blade of his sword emitted a slight holy light.Raeth was now prepared.
  99.
  100. As soon as the countdown was finished, Raeth released a massive burst of lightning spiking from himself, absorbing the energy circuts around himself into the blast of lightning, while also releasing other smaller blasts of lightning throughout the continued spar - however his spike was massive, striking hard into and burning at Honoo's form. Raeth quickly shifted himself from a magical offense right and then into a combined offensive, coursing lightning into his blade and sending it into a series of quick slashes and jabs with lightning bursts here and there. Raeth would close his own wounds when able.
  101.
  102. Raeth quickly arched back into his former stance, however this time the lightning around him shifted altogether, and then became a complete absence - replaced by waves of intense holy light which pervaded Raeth's form, while the holy aura around the blade intensified by twofold. He was ready, and responded with a short quip. "I wouldn't dream of it."
  103.
  104. This time, fighting was much more intense, with both sides trading physical blows often as Raeth had placed the handicap over himself of not being able to use his most offensive skillset - lightning magic. Blade clanged against blade in a furious dual as Raeth contantly closed his wounds, however the onslaugt of Honoo was simply too much and eventually the Sacred Knight was thrown back to his knee, and the Draconis Towa Ryujin (Draconic Knight of Ryujin) had claimed victory.
  105.
  106. Raeth, then decided it was time to use his true power as well, however regardless the Sacred Knight refused to use Lightning Magic. The sword was quickly drawn back with a flick of the wrist and brought the sword down as the light of his devotion covered his entire body with a brilliant flash in a second and... disappeared and blue eyes... well they were gone, replaced with flaming red eyes as Raeth now held a necklaced talisman in his other hand with the dogma of Elaedac upon it in crimson burned with holy fire.
  107.
  108. The victory was quick and decisive as the Sacred Knight Alarn wasn't bullshitting, playing around, or holding back at all and he had entered the stance of the Sacred Bastion of Elaedac - channeling her righteous flame into himself for the moment. Unluckily, the technique was far from mastered, however one day perhaps it would be an ability worthy of the Sacred Knights that he could pass down,. Raeth quickly aid Honoo in haling his hurt body, before speaking. "Let us return to the vale, I wish to speak with my sister and perhaps I can train you in practical training and holy magic."
