  1. He wasn't comfortable dressed as a woman, but he didn't enjoy being the kind of person to complain, so bear with it he did. He smiled, watching the others split off to do their work, he began walking towards the barracks. Amelia wasn't too far ahead of him, and as she went in, he decided to hang out at the Kennels just southward. The Herdier in the closest cage looked up at him curiously and laid down to gnaw on a bone. These Pokemon, Cornell surmised, were all owned by various mercs, er, bandits, in the camp and kept here instead of in their balls. They probably did group walks and training exercises independant of the individual masters. It wasn't that different from...

  3. ...He looked at the ground, remembering something painful. At that moment, a small, white puppy made its way around the corner, whining. Cornell blinked in surprise - unlike the dogs in the kennels, this stray seemed quite undernourished. It was so small, too, probably a runt of its litter. He crouched down to have a look at it. A shaggy white coat, black skin... This was probably a Furfrou. They were valued more for their appearance than their combat ability. He had trouble imagining they had intentionally bred the poodles, but he had a hard time imagining what sort of 'accident' it'd have taken, too. This little one was probably deemed unfit to use and left to fend for scraps wherever it could find them, and was probably bullied by the other dogs when they were out. He kneeled and began petting the creature, tenderly. Though it was obviously frightened at first, soon it curled to him. "Should the circumstances of one's birth rule one's fate so? Or the lack of a strong temperament... Come with me. I won't judge you so harshly." He offered it a scrap of jerked emboar, to which the dog hungrily snarfed. Soon, its tail was wagging - a sign that it liked and respected him. And then, he offered it a Pokeball. Pop... No resistance was made, it instantly clicked shut and rune-bonded with him.

  5. "...Don't worry. We'll soar beyond the expectations others have of us." he said softly, and stood back up. Looking over to the barracks door again, he spied Amelia coming out with kettle, heading out... back? Curious. He made to follow her.
