  2. Charles became disheartened the longer he listened to George. He had no idea what prompted such a response from him, other than that maybe he'd been rejected because of his job before? Oh no no no he couldn't stand to see George so cresfallen!

  4. "George, George! S'il tu plait!" If they hadn't been thousands of miles away, he would have grabbed George's hands and held them in his own. Instead he leaned closer to the screen, a concerned, earnest look on his face. "I 'ave no plans of calling anyzhing off, far from it! I 'ave absolutely nozhing against your job--in fact I respect it immensely and am just /floored/ at 'ow amazingly intelligent you are--c'est magnifique! And I will not judge you because of it. I believe you 'are a fine man and zhat you working for zhe FBI just makes you an even better man. I was just shocked because..." He had to word this carefully. "We have more in common zhan you zhink. If you 'ad said any ozher job, I would 'ave told you zhat I was an office worker and part time piano teacher. I 'ad asked you your job because I did not feel zhe need to reveal mon own...mais now I realize zhat you can /understand/ what I do. I don't /'ave/ to lie, and I don't /want/ to. Mais...it is complicated because, well, I can't tell zhe /truzh/ eizher, it would put mon safety in jeapordy. At zhe very least I would lose mon job. Mais I /promise/, I can tell you what I do when we are in private, true private, no computers, oui?"

  6. He bites his lip and looks as if he could tear up from seeing George so unhappy. "S'il vous plait, forgive moi for making you zhink such an awful zhing as moi rejecting you. You 'ave been no waste of mon time...I only ask zhat you be patient wizh moi, since I cannot tell zhe entire truzh right now. What /is/ true, zhough, is zhat I 'ave never developed such strong feelings for someone in such a short amount of time, and I will be damned to 'ell before I pass up on someone like you." He trailed off, nervous how George would react. Would he still be convinced that Charles didn't like him? Or would he be entirely suspicious because Charles has admitted that he can't tell George what he does?
