- Changes from season 1/2:
- General:
- - Summoner's Rift has undergone a major facelift
- - So has the UI/HUD
- - Bushes are slightly smaller in general
- - Lots of items have had their recipes changed
- - Fortify is gone
- - Champs have higher base movespeeds and Boots of Speed gives less movespeed
- - Mastery pages (as many as you like)
- - Masteries have changed
- - You can build recommended item sets for champs that will show up in the shop
- Wards and Vision:
- - Oracle's Elixir is gone
- - You can only buy 3 green wards and 1 pink ward
- - One player can only have 3 green wards and 1 pink ward out at a time
- - Placing a ward over the limit removes the oldest one
- - Pink wards are normally visible, and cheaper
- - Wards don't have health like champions, they instead have a certain number of auto attacks until they die
- - Each player has an extra item slot for items called trinkets, there are 3 trinkets
- - Yellow trinket (places a short-duration ward)
- - Can upgrade to place a pink ward
- - Or can upgrade to have multiple charges (normally there's a cooldown)
- - Red trinket (makes wards visible in an area)
- - Can upgrade for a short-term (~10s) oracles
- - Blue trinket (limited-range CV)
- - By dragon and baron each there is a green crab, kill it and you get an unkillable ward and speed shrine for 1:15
- Top Lane:
- - Force of Nature is gone, Spirit Visage has its MR boosted
- - There are three bushes instead of two
- - Top lane usually takes teleport
- - Popular champs:
- - Rumble
- - Gnar
- - Fizz
- - Vlad
- - Nautilus
- - Maokai
- Mid Lane:
- - Deathfire Grasp is no longer available
- - Some of the AP items have been shifted around to make their focus more clear
- - Popular champs:

- AD Carry:
- - Pretty much the same, a couple of champs have been slightly tweaked
- - AD Carry usually takes Heal
- - Popular champs:

- - Corki
- - Twitch
- Jungle:
- - Jungle items have completely changed
- - You now start (almost always) with a Hunter's Machete (deals extra damage to monsters) and 2 pots
- - Hunter's Machete has 4 upgrades that change smite
- - Red (Skirmisher's Sabre) - smite a champ to mark them for 6 seconds, you do more damage to marked targets
- - Blue (Stalker's Blade) - smite a champ to slow them
- - Purple (Ranger's Trailblazer) - smite gives you health and mana back
- - Gray (Poacher's Knife) - smite does 175% damage to its target and gives you a speed buff
- - Each upgrade has 4 MORE upgrades
- - Red (Warrior) - +AD/+CDR/+ArPen
- - Blue (Runeglaive) - +AP/+Mana/+CDR
- - Green (Cinderhulk) - +Health (also has small Sunfire Cape effect)
- - Purple (Devourer) - +AtkSpd/+30 magic dmg on hit
- - Added one more jungle camp to the left of blue buff on blue side (to the right of blue buff on purple side)
- - Each camp now has a designated "big" monster, which has more health, does more damage, and provides the most gold
- - Popular champs:
- - Gragas
- - Rek'sai
- - Sejuani
- - Evelynn
- - Nunu

- Support:
- - Support items have completely changed
- - Ancient Coin (yellow) - passively get 2 gold for any minion that dies near you
- - Relic Shield (green) - you can melee execute a minion to give a nearby ally health and gold
- - Spellthief's Edge (blue) - your auto attacks and spells against other champs give you gold
- - Ancient Coin -> Shurelia's (called Talisman of Ascension now)
- - Relic Shield -> Face of the Mountain (gives an ally a Sion shield)
- - Spellthief's Edge -> Frost Queen's Claim (active line slow)
- - CC scales with AP on some champs
- - Popular champs:
- - Annie
- - Braum
- - Nautilus
- - Janna
- - Lulu
- - Alistar
