  1. Southern Imperial space, SIS relay post Telos IV, 3628BBY 27ATC
  2.
  3. A short tone from the bevy of consoles lining the listening post's control room breaks the silence, waking the slumbering technician at his station.
  4. "Sir, we have a hit on one of our persons of interest. The computer just matched the Jedi Barsen'thor to sightings in the Kas system"
  5. The SIS post's senior officer looks up from his console and rolls his chair next to the other officer's station.
  6. "Really? The Kas system? We've had that alert up for 2 weeks, no wonder it took so long. They're not even in Republic space. What are they doing?"
  7. "It looks like they're traveling a lot. We only just got this data from our bugs in Imperial city surveillance, but on first glance it looks like they've been busy. Several sightings on Dromund Kas, Korriban, and the corresponding space stations. Unclear how they're moving around so much and so easily in that sector Sir".
  8. "We'd better let the jedi know, they asked for the alert. I'll get them on the line"
  9.
  10.
  11. Meanwhile, on Tython...
  12. Jedi Master Satele Shan is joined in the council chambers by the newly appointed Grandmaster Gnost-Dural as well as Master Sal-Deron.
  13.
  14. "You can't revoke the title of Barsen'thor" Master Satele says plainly.
  15. "Why not? The title is intended for the exemplar of the Order. It was bestowed in haste during a time of crisis. It's clear now that the individual it was bestowed upon has shown a lack of care for some of the Order's oldest traditions" Master Sal-Deron says with a hint of disdain.
  16. "They may not be following the letter of the law, but their actions have proven time and time again their dedication to the spirit of the Order. I do not think it is wise to ostracize them for something minor, when they've done so much" Satele responds.
  17. "I respect the work they've done as well, and I wouldn't be here saying this if they were just engaging in a relationship with anyone, but as the Oder's SIS liaison I am aware of how these things work, and my concern is with the person they are supposedly marrying, not that they are marrying at all" Sal-Deron explains.
  18. "I trust their judgement. I've seen them grow from a Padawan here in these halls, to the Knight who destroyed Valkorion. I know it is within them to make the right choices in this" Satele says with confidence.
  19. "I get that. But a Sith Lord? Who is also Imperial Director? How am I the only one who has a problem with this? The risk is too great. This person is not only a powerful Sith, but a seasoned spy. Either one of these on their own would be cause for concern. The possibility is too great that our friend is being manipulated. Pretending to love someone is an easy way to manipulate them. I'm not here to disrespect the Barsen'thor, I'm here because I'm concerned for them".
  20.
  21. Thus far, Gnost-Dural has remained silent.
  22. "I understand your concern Master Sal-Deron. It's certainly a....unique situation, with many dangers. I don't like the idea of our most trusted ally being influenced by Imperial Intelligence or the Sith, not to mention both at the same time. But I cannot find it within me to tell them what to do. Our Order was nearly annihilated, and during that time, they stood by me through it all. We have to make certain concessions and adapt to the new world. Perhaps this Jedi and Sith union can have a positive benefit? An example of cooperation perhaps? Wishful thinking I'm sure, but the chance alone is worth considering"
  23.
  24. The assembled Jedi reflect on what was said, Gnost-Dural's words seemingly assuaging concerns for the moment. The silence is eventually broken by an alert tone from the council chamber holocom. When the holocom activates, the senior officer of the Telos IV listening post fills the center of the table.
  25. "Ah, Agent Pirato, good to hear from you" Sal-Deron says, recognizing the man.
  26. "Likewise, Sal-Deron, Hello to you all as well Master Jedi" He gives a quick nod to the other assembled Masters as well, "I'm calling because we have the priority alert you asked for regarding your Barsen'thor. We matched them to the Kas sector, and we also have their personal holocom back online. It looks like it was just turned off, which is why we couldn't contact them. It seems they turned it on themselves".
  27. "Well, as odd as that is, I'm glad we found them. Are they okay?" Gnost-Dural asks.
  28. "It appears they're fine, surprisingly enough. I was concerned when it turned out they were on Korriban and Dromund Kas, but there doesn't seem to be any problems".
  29. "Well that's good news. I think. Can we call them?"
  30. "It should work no problem."
  31. "Let's get to the bottom of this then."
  32. The Jedi council holocom beeps as Gnost-Dural enters the holofrequency, and after just a moment, the Barsen'thor's face fills the center of the table.
  33. "Hey guys!" she says with a smile, "What's up?"
  34. "We haven't heard from you in almost two weeks. Is everything alright?"
  35. The young woman on the holo smiles even more, "Everything is great! I was just on my honeymoon! I got married!"
  36. Master Sal-Deron rolls her eyes out of view.
  37. "Well, that's....nice. I trust you're doing everything in a responsible manner?"
  38. She smiles again and laughs briefly, "Of Course! Everything is great! Lana took me around her home and showed me where she grew up and where she went to school. Man, Korriban is a terrible place. I hope we can help these people some day. Don't tell her I said that though!"
  39. "Right..."
  40. Before Gnost-Dural can find his next words, another woman comes into view on the holocom and hugs the first from behind, her arms around her waist, and asks who is calling.
  41. "It's the Jedi council! They wanted to see how we we're doing." The awkwardness of the situation seemingly lost on her.
  42. "It's nice to see you again, Minister Beniko. Last we spoke was Ossus?" Gnost-Dural says in an intentionally polite tone.
  43.
  44. to be continued
