It all came to a violent end about a year ago when we wanted out. Tenebrae was one of the pokemon gifted to our crew by them... and would have probably turned on me and everyone else as well if I had let him out for that

  3. Mar 11 16:25:49 <Mackenzie> "I've fought plenty of shadow pokemon by now, but I think I'm the only current crewmate that doesn't own one. That said, I think I have a good idea for how I can help if you have any desire to purify him. That is one of the objectives of PIRATES, after all."

  8. Mar 11 16:53:51 <Knox> He glances at the Heracross a moment. "What gender is it?" he asks, after several seconds.

  12. Mar 11 16:58:10 <Knox> He pops open the pokeball and the Pinsir emerges, standing on the deck. The thing is still, almost absolutely motionless, aside from slight movements of its eyes, which focus on Mack's Heracross. It's slightly larger than a normal Pinsir, and its horns menace with sharper spikes than normal, as well.

Heracross puts up his dukes like a bro. "Hera!" He jumps to Tenebrae's side. "Cross!" Over him with a flap of his wings to his other side. "Cross!" Over to his front. "Heraaa!"
  18. Mar 11 17:07:26 <Knox> Tenebrae tenses up, the slightest of motions while his eyes follow the Heracross's movements. After a moment the Pinsir irritatedly swipes a twiggy arm at the Heracross, appearing to be annoyed with him.
  19. Mar 11 17:09:27 <Knox> Knox seems a bit surprised at that, even. "That's probably a good sign. You actually got a reaction out of him."
  20. Mar 11 17:20:35 <Mackenzie> "Might not look like much now, but it could turn into something meaningful if they can form a relationship." He might be trying to convince himself here.
  21. Mar 11 17:24:37 <Mackenzie> Heracross approaches Tenebrae and crosses his arms. "Hera." He might have gotten the hint that there might not be much of a reaction by this point, which is probably why he's pshing his luck and getting in close.

  23. Mar 11 17:26:59 <Knox> Tenebrae seems to react more at this and squares off, leering and squeezing his pincers shut before leaning in and pressing them against the Heracross's horn.

  25. Mar 11 17:30:40 <Mackenzie> Heracross grins and braces himself, putting some pressure against Tenebrae's contact.
  26. Mar 11 17:32:06 <Knox> Tenebrae leans in, clearly trying to overpower the Heracross now. Knox just nods at this a few times and looks up at Mack. "You may be on to something."
  27. Mar 11 17:36:19 <Mackenzie> heracross flutters his wings briefly with anticipation before really bearing down and using his full might. "This could either make him healthily competitive... Or more of a cruel killing machine."
  28. Mar 11 17:37:59 <Knox> "Guess we'll just have to see, then. Let's try this out another time." he remarks. "He's probably still in a bit of a mood from his enemy getting away earlier."
  29. Mar 11 17:40:11 <Mackenzie> "Heracross? Ease off. You'll get plenty of chances to fight it out amongst each other; trust me." Heracross slowly begins lessening his force so as not to cause a traffic jam. "Hera."
  30. Mar 11 17:41:32 <Knox> "Same for you, Tenebrae. He isn't your enemy."
  31. Mar 11 17:42:04 <Knox> The pinsir seems... rather reluctant to let up, especially as the heracross starts easing up, but he eventually does and steps back. Knox returns him, after a moment.
  32. Mar 11 17:44:52 <Mackenzie> After Tenebrae is returned, Heracross goes over to Knox and extends a hand. "Heracross."
  33. Mar 11 17:45:49 <Knox> He stares down at the Heracross for a good few seconds before taking it and shaking.
  34. Mar 11 17:46:17 <Knox> He nods at him. "Looking forward to see how this goes."
  35. Mar 11 17:46:48 <Knox> "...also is his name seriously 'Heracross'?" he asks Mack. "I've heard of people who don't name their pokemon, but..."
  36. Mar 11 17:50:19 <Mackenzie> "I'm only calling him that for now. There's been a lot going on lately, and I haven't had a lot of time to think about names. So far the only names that came to me were Harry and Crosstopher, and I don't even need to ask what you think of those." Heracross chuckles with a "He- He- He-"

  38. Mar 11 17:52:07 <Knox> He turns and leans on the railing again. "This is gonna be a hell of a ride, huh."
  39. Mar 11 17:53:25 <Mackenzie> Mack returns Heracross. "What you've seen so far is among the most take of it. ...Except for the 'awakwning apocalyptic legendary pokemon' thing, that was kind of up there."

  41. Mar 11 17:54:08 <Knox> "Sounds like my kinda time, really." he grins and stretches himself.
  42. Mar 11 17:54:53 <Knox> "Guess we'll see what the next few days bring in... I'm heading down to rest up."
  43. Mar 11 17:56:44 * Knox pushes himself off the railing and starts to head down the stairs to below deck. "Thanks." he adds, not really specifying it.
  44. Mar 11 17:56:49 <Mackenzie> "Sounds good. Next step is probably just a routine checkup at base though, considering the ship and the Lecia clone." Mack is probably more talking to himslef at this point.
