“We should battle!” May stepped in front of Rui, holding out her Poke Ball. “I want to travel to Johto and be in contests there, so battling a fully-evolved Johto Pokemon would be a great start!”

“Gator!” Feraligatr yelled at its opponent, shooting a burst of water into the air. Feraligatr and Blaziken looked into each others’ eyes, both prepared for battle.

“Use Sky Uppercut!” May commanded, pointing forward. Blaziken ran towards Feraligatr, holding out its right fist. Its hand started to glow as Blaziken quickly approached its opponent.

“Surf, Feraligatr! Show Blaziken how strong you are!” Rui had a nervous tone to her voice, but Feraligatr responded all the same. It leapt into the air, and a large wave of water appeared under it – Feraligatr landed on top of the wave as it started to move towards Blaziken. Blaziken jumped just as the wave approached, punching Feraligatr on the underside of its mouth.

Just as Blaziken moved to blast out a stream of flame, Feraligatr took a hard stomp in front of it. Feraligatr’s eyes glowed red, and it glared at Blaziken – its intimidating stare was enough to stop Blaziken in mid-attack, and the fire bird looked somewhat nervous at Feraligatr’s attack. Blaziken stepped back, but held up its fists in a defensive stance.

“H-Hurry, Feraligatr! Use Hydro Pump!” Rui commanded, pointing forward with a trembling hand.

“Blaziken, watch out!” May yelled. “Get out of there!”

“Yeah, we really need to work on Blaziken’s charging speed.” May replied. She walked towards Rui as Feraligatr returned to its Poke Ball. “We should hit the Pokemon Center before we do anything else, don’t you think?”
