- I’m in a process of allowing my OwnCloud server to be accessed from outside of my home network.
- I’ve been following some online tutorials how to do that. They are all ok, but they all in one form or another suggest that this is a really bad idea. They lean towards to rent a shared hosting server or VPS.
- To be honest I don’t see any advantages having my OwnCloud server on a shared hosting or VPS. What am I missing? Why is it a bad idea to have home OwnCloud server exposed to the internet?
- Thanks for the answer.
- Regards
- Pete
