  1. [12:50:56] It had come to the end of the week and Krosious was ready to get his hands back upon Defiant Embrace. He enjoyed having the smaller sword with him while he was apart from Defiant, but he missed his sword dearly. Though the Elder knew it was in good hands, Lara was a find smith and a trusted friend. Of course she had to be for Krosious to leave his sword with her.
  2.
  3. With all that in mind he made his way to the Dojo. Upon entrance he was greeted by the students and such, as one would expect. They offering him things to drink and eat, to take his hat and jacket. Of course he refused their offers and was then left to his own. From there the Elder walked on into the Forge room of the Dojo.
  4.
  5. It was then that he saw the woman he considered to be his younger sister, Lara. Approaching the table where he last let Defiant Embrace lay, Krosious spoke.
  6.
  7. "So, Lara, how's it coming along hm?"
  8.
  9. A curious tone on his words as his eye's lifted and rested upon Lara's own.
  10. (Krosious Hayes)
  11.
  12. [13:06:17] A smirk crossed her face, as Krosius had come by to be right on time. "Ah, Krosius! Just in time to be an extra set of hands, when I need them!" She appreciated his pressence at the moment! Especially so, given the fact her efforts now, showing him the pot that now had the equally liquified parts, the core of Berehynia's arm, as well as the Mythril, both liquified, leaving the liquid metal oddly clear, or at least looking clear, it matched the color of the blade's current nature, which would leave the only apparent change to be the Tempestine gem in the final product, lest they physically alterred it, then all best would be off.
  13.
  14. The red head would nod to him, pointing to a stone cast. "Find that things lid, it should be over by the wood shelves, if it's where I put it, I made those while my students watched the metal for me." The process was a long one clearly, if they were just now getting to this part.
  15.
  16. However, the fact it was almost done, in of itself, should be quite appealing ot Krosius, that Lara didn't just push it off to now, that it was waited for by a genuine reason. She just needed him to collect the top half of the cast, and line them up. There were mirage lines panning off of the bottom half, perhaps they were heated to not break.
  17. (Lara Kien)
  18.
  19. [13:08:51] "Oh?"
  20.
  21. He began with a question, as if doubting her words. Of course he did not but it was a small joke none the less. When given the orders to help out he gave a nod and lowered his hat. From there he turned to the designated area nd approached it.
  22.
  23. His eye's looked up and down for a few moments until he found the lid.
  24.
  25. "This it?"
  26.
  27. He said then turned around and walked back to where Lara was. Setting the lid within arm's reach for her. He was completely unsure what to do. The Elder was no smith by anymeans.
  28.
  29. "Everything looks really good, Lara. Thank you for doing this for me."
  30.
  31. Krosious finished with a nod then crossed his arm's over his chest and waited.
  32. (Krosious Hayes)
  33.
  34. [13:15:40] Lara wouldn't be able to answer him definitively yet but, she could tell him what he was looking for. "The one that matches the one I have out already. Just make sure that you aren't using one with a smaller blade or marked otherwise." It was just that, the forge was often used for other people's weapons as well, the asset given to each student, when they were ready to form their own tool of battle.
  35.
  36. Simply put, she just wanted him to be sure that he double checked, that there weren't finite differences between the half of a mold he grabbed and the bottom half. "Also, if it's the top half of a mold it'll have a hole in it, cast smithing isn't my favorite form of smithing, but it's the only thing I could think of that I'd have the stamina to do your weapon with." She warned, she didn't like what she was doing, to make a weapon in this way was not her preferred manner, as she'd gingerly first place the tempestine, painting it tightly down with some resin upon the blades fuller.
  37.
  38. Looking over towards Krosius. "After you put the top down, I'll bring the metal over here." The woman told him, as she grasped a pair of rather thick looking leather mits.
  39.
  40. In this she'd wait with him to set the lid down, the hole having a rather huge basin, likely to catch what was poured onto it, so it would all, while liquified, go into the weapon, and excess? well, that could always just be clipped off.
  41. (Lara Kien)
  42.
  43. [13:35:18] "Yeah, this matches the description pretty well."
  44.
  45. He said as he rotated said cast in his hands. It looked exactly how Lara had described it and such. After a few minutes of watching Lara do a few things, Krosious went about doing as instructed.
  46.
  47. Holding the cast and what not in the proper place then standing still as to cause as little mishap as possible.
  48.
  49. "Okay, go ahead and do whatever you have to do. Don't worry about me dropping it. I promise, I won't."
  50.
  51. With that said he pumped a bit of mana through his legs and arm's to help sustain what weight might come upon them soon.
  52. (Krosious Hayes)
  53.
  54. [13:41:16] Lara nodded. "Okay, use the level on the table behind you on each of the sides, to make sure its all in line with itself, Krosius." She simply told him, as she had begun to waddle over at this point with the liquified mixture. Using a bit of fire magic left to hover below it to keep the crucible itself hot.
  55.
  56. The efforts of the woman perhaps not to be admonished or unnoticed in the slightest! Lara would nod to him.
  57.
  58. "Lemme know when you have it on perfectly straight! Don't need to be adjusting any lips! If we've done this perfectly we wont need to do too much grinding to get the edge honed!" The woman smirked to him, as fire gently lashed out, beneath and ontop of the weapon inside of the mold, from the very flame used to keep the crucible hot.
  59.
  60. "The abrased surface will allow the metal to adhere better, than it would if it was just heating itself with the other metal, this way the shell is more like a rough-thatch attachment, it probably will never chip off this way." The freely pointed suggestion that, if she hadn't done that step? The weapon likely could have started to lose its shelling.
  61. (Lara Kien)
  62.
  63. [13:47:15] Upon being given more instructions, Krosious nodded. Instead of moving the Elder manipulated a bit of his mana in order to control the Gravity around them. In fact, he pushed the Gravity around table and lifted it. Of course it was a bit of a task seeing how oddly shaped it was and such. However, it lifted and then carefully floated toward them, until sitting down just at their side. The level in a certain area so it would not cause any more problem than needed.
  64.
  65. "Right."
  66.
  67. He would say as he lifted the mold and what have you up and to the level. It took him only a few seconds to get it straight.
  68.
  69. "Alright, you're good to go Lara. I'll keep it like this. Don't worry about it dropping or moving."
  70.
  71. The Elder seemed pretty sure of his ability to keep it steady. One might assume that his old age had made him shakey, nay! That was not ture in the slightest. Krosious always had steady hands and with the aid of his Gravity magic was able to keep it solid and straight just as he was before.
  72.
  73. "You know, I don't know much about these kinds of things. But I trust your word and trust that you know what you're doing and talking about. I've no doubt."
  74.
  75. He would say with a reasuring tone. From there the Elder went silent as he awaited the next step in molding his weapon.
  76. (Krosious Hayes)
  77.
  78. [13:55:47] A bit of a smirk came as she'd find Krosius to bring the mold with his blade inside closer to her, a deep breath as she'd nod to him. "Lower it just a skootch if you could. I can't quite lift this that high without dumping it!" She warned him, not wanting to waste any of the metal alloy in the decantor.
  79.
  80. Calmly she awaited for him to do so, before pouring it in, the stone-plaster fit so perfectly together, so much so that any amount of overflow wouldn't bleed out the sides, rather into the flute through the top, and if need be, across the basin itself. As Krosius kept it steady, Lara would gently pour the metal slowly, letting it fill the basin, before emptying into the cavity with his blade, and then adding more, the process repeating over three times, before there was no liquified metal left.
  81.
  82. "Now we let it sit over night, and in the morning, any finishing touche syou want to add yourself, be it Asena's blessing in the Bloom or otherwise, you can do for yourself! Or it will be ready on hand as is!" The pause that came was one that she was calm in, outside of needing to juxtapose for a moment.
  83.
  84. With a slight fidgit towards the elder wolf, akin to an elder brother to Lara at this point, or maybe even a young uncle. "Just ah... if you plan to dip it in the bloom water so soon! I personally would give it until... well, it's what, five in the afternoon now? Give it till five in the morning the day after tomorrow, and it should be fine!" She didn't want his weapon to peel and flake after all, that was her warning to him, so it wouldn't! A good thirty six hours to cool off, and then whatever he wanted to do to finalize the weapon, was all he'd need to do! The world was his oyster!
  85. (Lara Kien)
  86.
  87. [14:04:19] Remaining silent as he was given the new instructions, Krosious slowly lowered the mold. When it was in the proper position he held it steady and level once more as he had just a few minutes ago.
  88.
  89. He watched as the woman poured the liquid metal into the cast. It took a few times to completely empty the metal into the mold, it filling the area and settling before more had been added. Or something along those lines. Krosious could not really keep up with that kind of thing, he was dumb when it came to forge work and such.
  90.
  91. Once she had finished Krosious gave a nod to the woman and spoke.
  92.
  93. "Ah, good. Well shall I leave it here then so that you may keep a watch over it? Just incase it tips over or something else? Not saying it will or anything, I'll keep this Gravity field on it for as long as I can."
  94.
  95. With that said he released his grasp from the mold. However, it did not move or even give the slightest nudge. Nay, he was rather strong with his Gravity control. Thinking it over a few times he crossed his arm's over his chest and stared at the mold, invisioning what the blade may look like once the metal has solidified and such.
  96.
  97. "I may dip it in the Bloom and ask for Asena's blessing to be placed upon it. That's a good idea. It might help the Tempestine or strengthen it or something? I don't really know but it's worth a shot yeah?"
  98.
  99. Krosious nodded to himself as if confirming something to himself. Though of course he had no real idea. He did not even know if he was still worthy of Asena's Blessing. Putting that aside Krosious turned back to Lara.
  100.
  101. "Do you think the blade will stand up in say another fifty years? I plan on giving it to my boy, my youngest.. Not Kilanjo. He does not deserve it."
  102.
  103. He ended on a bit of a serious note.
  104. (Krosious Hayes)
  105.
  106. [14:11:08] With her smile warmly upon Krosius there was an idle giggle as she'd nod. "Of course it will, I only said I don't like the technique, it's because if I try to do it by myself, I have to hold the mold and pour the metal." There was a pause, as she'd shrug her shoulders. "It's easy with help, perhaps even more so than the hatta folding technique, but there's just something fun about folding a piece of metal over and over until it's tenfold the toughness it once had." It was clear, that even if she was a swordswoman, that this lady in particular just loved to swing a hammer at times.
  107.
  108. A deep breath and a sigh as she'd look to him. "I take it your talk with him didn't go well?" She knew of his talk with Kilanjo? Perhaps, but only the looser details obviously.
  109.
  110. As she would pat his shoulder. "Look, if he can be helped still, and I get my hands on him, just Like I'm doing with that Oscuri boy, I will give it my best shot, but if he can't be fixxed. . ."
  111. (Lara Kien)
  112.
  113. [14:17:07] Standing there staring at the mold as it were now, the Elder turned his head toward her.
  114.
  115. "Ah, that's good. No doubt. I could see what a hassel that would be to do by ones self. It seemed like a big enough one for the two of us and we rival one another in raw strength. I could only imagine what it would be like to do it alone."
  116.
  117. A shake of his head to further his belief in what she said. Again his eye's shifted to the mold. Once they rested upon it he went silent, as if in thought. When he heard her speak again his greyish white ear's twitched.
  118.
  119. "Mhm. He ran, like a coward. I attempted to take away his sword and tried to convince him to stop eating people. But he is too much like his real father and Nef. Both bull headed and damn well were going to do whatever they wished. You had best believe that."
  120.
  121. A small smirk as he remebered his late elder brother and bond-mate. Though it was quickly gone as Lara spoke on. When the hand befell his shoulder Krosious turned his gaze on the younger Ookami.
  122.
  123. "I understand, Lara. I have done everything that I can short of beating him to the point that he cannot move or death, even. Someone like he, someone that is so strongly wrapped up in Saekanis worship.. they are not fixable. If you must do it, then please. Bring his body and this belongings to me. That is all I will ask of you. As a friend to a friend, would you do that for me?"
  124.
  125. He asked with an upturned brow.
  126. (Krosious Hayes)
  127.
  128. [14:36:44] Lara idly peered upon Krosius, regretably there was part of it there was no possibility for him to guarantee in full, but there was always the fact of 'try' to be used. "I'll do my best, I will not know what he's done with his belongings when I get to that point. The unfortunate fact is that it is so that it's all a matter of we'll see, but you will be returned your son's body if I cannot fix him, it's a father's right. If the worst comes to happen to their boy." With her hands coming to her hips, the crucible replaced into a cubby next to the furnace, where it could cool without the threat of breakage.
  129.
  130. The red head looked upon Krosius for a moment, idly peering he himself over. "Are you doing well, Krosius? It's been a while, and you know I worry about you when times are rough." She would pat his shoulder at that moment, to assure him that she was there, if he was unwell at the moment.
  131.
  132. Warmly and idly looking upon her work to reinforce the wepaon, Lara'd await for him to answer her. "As I said, leave it in the mold until it's been about twenty four hours, then wait to dip it in any liqudi until it's been a day and a half, otherwise, you might damage the metal on the outside." Normally cast forging required days, being that it was a solid hunk of steel, but this? it was a coating, instead. Something that, without the proper care, would break and shatter, leaving the mythril useless.
  133. (Lara Kien)
  134.
  135. [14:46:59] "That is all I ask from you, Lara. I do not expect you to do anymore or anyless. I know my son, very well. More than he know's himself. He is unfixable.. As much as that pains me to say, because I love my son's more than I love my own life. I would die for them, in their place if I had to. But.. Kilanjo is .."
  136.
  137. Having to stop, else risk getting worked up, Krosious gave a nod and went on.
  138.
  139. "Thank you, Lara. If it comes to that point just return to me his body and whatever he may have on him at the time. He is still a Hayes, the Legacy shall not die with he or I, but live on in Aries and any future pups the two may have."
  140.
  141. That said he turned and gave a soft smile. It was nice to know that someone outside of his two son's gave at least half a shit about him. It felt like, for a long time anyway, that Nef was the only one that truely cared if he lived or died. Though Lara was someone that might, at least a little bit, or so Krosious thought. He could not really tell, he was often bad with words and such.
  142.
  143. "To be honest, I've been shitty. Real shitty. I had to face down my own flesh and blood. Warn him that if he doesn't stop doing what he's doing that he was going to be hunted and killed. I had to tell my own flesh and blood that I could not protect him any longer. I had to go and get that shit ass hammer back for that one bitch and her boyfriend or whatever the hell they are. Had to take that back from a person I consider to be my son, if not then a brother."
  144.
  145. Shaking his head he let out a heavy sigh. His arm's crossing over his chest and his shoulders slugging down a bit.
  146.
  147. "Ah, oh well. It's nice that you worry about me but I'm too old for that and you're too young. Besides, you have your own pups to look after instead of worrying about an old relic like me. I appreciate it though."
  148.
  149. The Elder wanted to make it clear that he appreciated her thoughts for him and such. But also wanted her to live a life, without having to worry about him or any of that nonsense. Though, when Lara spoke again of the blade the Elder gave a nod.
  150.
  151. "Of course. I'll just leave it here. Because if I don't I'll be too tempted to take it from the cast. I'll be back for it upon the day. But I think I'll be going. If you're not here, just leave it in the Forge room and I'll see to picking it up. Thank you, again, Lara."
  152.
  153. A quick embrace was given to the girl, before Krosious pulled back and took a step backward. He waited, but only for a few more seconds just incase the shewolf had something else to add.
  154. (Krosious Hayes)
