  45. TROUBLESHOOTING FAQ
  46.
  47.
  48. Q: How do I change my system locale to Japanese?
  49. A: For Windows 7:
  50. Control Panel - Clock, Language and Region, Region and Language, Administrative Tab, Change system locale...
  51. Change 'Current Sysem Locale:' to 'Japanese (Japan)'
  52. Apply and restart your computer
  53.
  54. For More instructions and other OS, check here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Change-the-system-locale
  55.
  56. NOTE: DO NOT change anything in the 'Formats' or 'Keyboards and Languages' tabs. These will install unnecessary moonspeak options onto your computer. You MUST change 'Language for non-Unicode programs'.
  57.
  58. Q: Can I install this game using AppLocale?
  59. A: No.
  60.
  61. Q. Can I turn off the japanese locale settings after I install and run the game?
  62. A. Some users have reported success running the game AFTER installing it in Japanese Locale using AppLocale.
  63.
  64. Q: What do I do if my installer is frozen/the progress bar isn't moving?
  65. A: Mount the .MDS file instead of the .MDF file and be sure the image file is in a folder with English characters.
  66.
  67. Q: My game crashes at the intro!
  68. A: Most likely a problem with your codec pack. Uninstall whatever codec pack you're using and get CCCP.
  69. http://www.cccp-project.net/
  70. There's also an issue with the opening video and effect animations in game and if you are using LAV splitter. To fix this, open "Lav Splitter Configuration" and disable "mpeg (MPEG PS format)"
  71.
  72. Q: My game crashes when I try and navigate away from the main menu!
  73. A: You are missing a japanese font. Make sure that Japanese locale is enabled and reinstall the game.
  74.
  75. Q: I get an archive error message when trying to run the English patch!
  76. A: You have to have Japanese Locale enabled in order for it to work properly. Yes! It's possible to patch the game by renaming the Kamidori main folder to something English but that won't help you play it.
  77. As in, the game is patched but when you attempt to run it the game stops working.
  78. TL;DR use Japanese Locale.
  79. Also, some anti-virus programs such as Avira might delete the AGE.EXE file.

  82. GAMEPLAY FAQ
  83.
  84.
  85. Q: Where can I find X item?
  86. A: Either check the in-game encyclopedia under the "Item" tab or check out http://kamidori.seiha.org/index.php?title=Materials
  87.
  88. Q: How do I know what a skill does?
  89. A: Check the in-game encyclopedia under the "Skill" tab.
  90.
  91. Q: How do I continue X quest?
  92. A: Check the in-game encyclopedia under the "Quest" tab for any events that expire on the chapter you're on. Most questS continue over the course of several chapters and battles, so if your quest is not expiring that chapter and you can't find an event for it, then it will continue in the next.
  93.
  94. Q: Is harvesting materials random?
  95. A: Yes! All harvest spots in a dungeon share the same loot table, but the loot itself is random for that spot.
  96.
  97. Q: How do I get X character's path/ending?
  98. A: From Aroduc's post:
  99. Route split begins near the end of chapter 3 when the kid asks you to find the chisel. Once that quest is finished, the route is fixed. The priority goes Yuela > Serawi > Emelita. If you don't fulfill either the Yuela or Serawi requirements, you automatically default to Emelita.
  100.
  101. Almost all character events are tied to either level or chapter. If you aren't getting their events, level them (or Wil) up more. Crayanne and Crayl also share events, so you need to level both to trigger them.
  102.
  103. Yuela Route:
  104. View Yuela's measurement scene (Aht lv 6 or Sharty lv 12)
  105. Saerav joined
  106. Melodiana guest (or joined)
  107. View her event when given the option in chapter 2 or 3
  108.
  109. Serawi Route:
  110. Aht joined
  111. Suina joined
  112. Crayl joined
  113. View her event when given the option in chapter 2 or 3
  114.
  115. Q: Does X (female) get an H-scene?
  116. A: Almost all named females get a H-scene. However, you can only view 1 of the 3 heroine's scenes in one playthrough. There are also a few that are not available
  117.
  118. Q: Does X character ever get useful?
  119. A: Yes! With enough grinding, levels and items anyone can become useful.
  120.
  121. Q: I can't move onto/over a spot on the map!/What do those swirly portals on the floor do?
  122. A: Right-click on the square to receive information on it. Some areas require you to have a skill to move your character onto them (ex. [Dive], [Flight], [Burrow])
  123.
  124. Q: How do I deploy more units in battle?
  125. A: Click on either the [Party] button or one of the [Select Unit] spaces, select and [Deploy]
  126.
  127. Q: Battles take way too long.
  128. You can skip through the enemies turn by holding [Ctrl] down. You can also turn off Battle Animations in the game configuration.
  129.
  130. Q: How do I reset the RNG during battle?
  131. A: It resets after every turn.
  132.
  133. Q: Is there a penalty for doing the Deadbeat dungeon?
  134. A: No actual gameplay affecting penalty, no. The only penalty is that you will live with the shame of doing the Deadbeat dungeon.
  135. It's possible to remove the Deadbeat status by killing a relatively hard boss at chapter 8 in the Deadbeat dungeon.
  136.
  137. Q: Help! I don't know which costume I should use!
  138. A: Most costumes have skills unique to them, for example Yuela's fire elemental costume has [Prevail].
  139. Skills carry over between costumes, but stats do not.
  140. A rule of thumb is that the omni elemental costumes got the best stats but most likely the worst skills.
  141.
  142. Q: There's a skull on a piece of equipment I'm wearing and I can't take it off! What do?
  143. A: Go to the church in Yuidora and select [Uncurse] to remove the item for 500s. You can also buy items that will remove the item for you on-the-go for 1,000s
  144.
  145. Q: What does Ful's Mill do?
  146. A: It gives you +1 additional drop for each enemy the character wearing it defeats, which is great for farming materials.
  147.
  148. Q: Aht is so slow, what do?
  149. A: [Tainted Earthmen] has a rare drop [Pure Anklet], which will give Aht +1 move speed, and Aht will receive a movement bonus during the course of their storyline as you level them.
  150.
  151. Q: [Prayer Grounds] on Emelita's route is impossible!
  152. A: This event was very poorly balanced and is unnecessarily difficult:
  153. 1. Synthesize [Portal Stones] to close the Goble spawns if the recipe is available.
  154. 2. Equip Wil with the skill [Emelita's Guardian] and have him stay behind Emelita.
  155. 3. Equip Emelita with [Sword Cane] and have her up front and tank the Gobles.
  156. 4. Drinks pots, Savescum
  157. 5. ???
  158. 6. PROFIT
  159.
  160. Q: What's the difference between Cute Merchant and Rich Merchant?
  161. A: If you select Rich Merchant and pay 30,000, you will be able to get 2 Full's Mil in a later dungeon.
  162.
  163. Q: What chests do I open for the exam on Chapter 6?
  164. A: Close all the chests except for the top-left corner chest and bottom middle chest. The door should open in the following turn.
  165.
  166. Q: How do I complete Quest #118/What is the quickest way to get [Wood] and [Good Wood]?
  167. A: It is best if you do this quest BEFORE you accept it to avoid the time limit. Go to [Yuma Lake] [Underground Lake], there is a Harvesting spot in the room next to the base that gives a fair amount of wood.
  168.
  169. Q: How do I create a [Large Wardrobe] for Quest #141?
  170. A: It is best if you do this quest BEFORE you accept it to avoid the time limit. You have to synthesize [Large Bookshelf] until it mutates into one. The [Kiln] and [Cauldron] furnitures for your workshop add to your mutation chance.
  171. NOTE: The quests asks for a [Large Drawer] when you actually need a [Large Wardrobe].
  172.
  173. Q. How do I complete quest #120/What is the quickest way to get [Ripe Apple] and [Aromatic Herb]?
  174. A: It is best if you do this quest BEFORE you accept it to avoid the time limit. Go to [Yuidora Woodland] and you can harvest the items from either [Peaceful Grounds] and [Sunlit Clearing].
  175.
  176. Other Tips:
  177. - Do not to do Emelita's route first
  178.
  179. - Save before you do any event in case of timed quests
  180.
  181. - Do not waste money on armor enhancements until you're comfortably rich (chapter 6+) or obtain a major skill (prevail III)
  182.
  183. - Regarding lvl 90 dungeons:
  184.
  185. - Phema Sluicegate is the easiest I think, the map is pretty simple and the only gimmick is that the map gets submerged
  186. in water every few turns (Just equip everyone with dive bracelets).
  187.
  188. - Phema Mountains: You need Flight and Grounded and most of the enemies inflict all status effects possible.
  189. Mirage Forest: Non earth aligned units (anyone that's not X and higher in earth) has it's HP/SP/FS decreased every turn.
  190. All the monsters also has projectile defense.
  191.
  192. - Valkyrie Falls: All the monsters has instant death attacks. You need someone with long ranged spells to have a chance
  193. here (Leguna, Lily, Hannah).
  194.
  195. - Advent Bay: This is the hardest. Everyone here either have Seal, Force field or Projectile Defense which makes ranged
  196. attacks and skills useless. They also have +200 to hit so you can't evade. Not to mention their Reflect III tends to
  197. reflect your crits back to you. And don't get me started on the Slimegirl monsters...
