  1. to meditate, you first want to sit down in a position thats most comfortoable to you, you
  2. want your spine to be straight but you don't want to stress the position ,you dont want to
  3. worry about your spine being straight, when your back is straight your brain is most
  4. active. do not make your posture a worry, if you have an itch itch it don't think
  5. about it just let everything happen automatically, dont cling to the thought that you will
  6. achieve some deep mystical state the longer you sit there and watch your breath.
  7. there are certain body postures(asanas) you can sit in which promote a straight spine such
  8. as the lotus position or the full loutus.
  9. at first, the easiest way to slip into a meditative state of mind is to just watch your
  10. breath. you dont want to worry about controlling it because that will just get you caught
  11. in a cycle of thoughts. you will breathe automatically whether you try to or not, it might
  12. feel like you have to manually control your breath but thats what you want to get passed.
  13. you want to surrender and realize that you will breathe automatically whether you try to
  14. or not.
  15. you will be thinking rapidly during meditation. the point is to not try to stop your
  16. thoughts, it is to realize that thoughts will flow, your thought process is a repeating
  17. cycle that you can not stop, you just have to watch it. the point of meditation is to get
  18. lost in every single sensation that happens, to experience it at it's fullest. the point
  19. is to fully be here now and feel everything that comes forward without trying to feel it.
  20. it is pure spontaneity.
  21. life is pure spontaneity
  22. when you sit down and you get lost in your breath, and you let every sensation flow
  23. without worrying about what sensation you're feeling and without worrying about what you
  24. want to feel or how you should feel, you feel feel at one.
  25. you watch to feel every sensation AS IT HAPPENS. when you think a thought, see that
  26. thought. don't try to follow it just let it happen and see it. observe everything that happens as it happens, thats the point.
  27. you don't think your thoughts, its an automatic process. you can sit there and try to not think but you'll still be sitting there thinking your ass off and you can't stop it. when you realize you have no control over your thoughts you realize you're not even thinking them at all, you are not your thoughts. and when you sit and just watch every sensation as it happens you realize how they happen and why they happen. you start to learn about yourself more and more and more as you sit there and watch your feeling flow outward.
  28. everything is an automatic unfolding process and you have no control over it, the point is to surrender to the vibrations of the universe and to go with the flow.
