- Mine Blocks development log from "June 18, 2011" to "June 27, 2011".
- This is a bit embarrassing to post, but what do you expect from a 14-year-old haha!
- It's amazing to see I wrote down exact times that I did things!
- Things to note:
- - I moved the Day 13 and Day 14 headers to match expectations (I made a note of it on the headers)
- - Day 10 has a couple times written down out of order.
- - Apparently I knew about Terraria when starting this! It must have been very recent, because I remember someone telling me about it as I was working on prototypes for Mine Blocks
- - My anger towards glitches wasn't meant to sound the way it did XD whoops!
- - You can see that "mine" blocks were a thing. They were air blocks that stop the generator from placing trees in mines, I think
- ---Day 14 (6-26-11)--- (The header used to be where Day 13 is)
- • 7:17 PM - Fixed minor mini-inventory glitch
- • 7:03 PM - Fall damage is very lenient
- • 6:44 PM - Fixed furnaces giving 2 for the first item
- • 6:41 PM - Pumpkins are less clumped together and aren't placed on beaches
- • 6:39 PM - Pumpkins are placable
- • 6:38 PM - Fixed delete button removing all items on the list

- • 7:38 PM - The contents of the smelter get saved for every smelter made
- • 6:33 PM - Added a functional smelting block (but it doesn't smelt yet)
- • 5:54 PM - DOORS WORK!
- • 4:32 PM - Doors may be crafted
- • 3:00 PM - Made the crafting recipes for shovels
- • 2:57 PM - The output in the crafting area doesn't destroy your stuff if you try and place it in there
- • 2:54 PM - Made the crafting recipes for axes
- • 2:34 PM - Yay! Damage is fixed and tools disintegrate when they are worn out!
- • 2:20 PM - Tool damage works (unless you move the tool to another inventory slot)
- • 12:47 PM - Made the crafting recipes for the other pickaxes
- • 12:43 PM - Made stone drop only with certain tools, as with coal, iron, and other things
- • 12:12 PM - The wooden pickaxe works wonderfully!

- • 11:50 AM - Slowed down grass calculation and make it more random
- • 11:45 AM - If your selector leaves a block while you're mining, it stops mining

- • 5:59 PM - Using a very small world, changing the data value of rock from "RK" into "R" saved 22,172 bytes (just under 22 KB)
- • 5:52 PM - Shift-clicking will also be used to dynamically change the state of objects, or in this case, open the crafting table!
- • 5:40 PM - Crafting tables exist but they don't do much yet!
- • 5:23 PM - Tooltips on the inventory tell you what you have stored
- • 4:47 PM - Can't mine coal, iron ore, diamond, gold ore, redstone ore, or obsidian without tools (which I have yet to make)
- • 4:36 PM - Added a block-decaying speed
- • 8:08 PM - Fixed even more bugs, and made the wooden pickaxe recipe

- • FIRST ONLINE TEST: A bit slow on older computers of corse
- • 7:00 PM - Added a time schedule (get's dark at night)
- • 6:38 PM - You also can't place a block on yourself (you shouldn't do that anyway!)
- • 6:30 PM - You cannot accidently replace a block because of a glitch
- • 6:27 PM - Fixed an "undefined" placing glitch (>:P take that glitches!)
- • *6:02 PM - 870+19+52+196+250+32+36+22+38+18+80+155+69+38+18 = about 1,900 lines of code (not including small stuff)
- • 5:56 PM - Water and sizzle sounds were miscalculated and now they are correct
- • 5:35 PM - Made torches stick to walls also
- • 5:20 PM - I typed a random seed function wrong and some mines were HUGE - fixed
- • 5:10 PM - Made the world 2000 blocks wide! (had to make a loading bar!)

- • 4:48 PM - Searched up how to do random seeds and incorporated it - JUST LIKE MINECRAFT!!!

- • 2:59 PM - Worked on the re-spawning stuff, had a bit of trouble, and started experimenting in Blender
- • 1:12 PM - Crafting: Added torch recipe (this is what I've been building up to)

- • 5:23 PM - 1/10 chance on getting a sapling when the leaves die... but you'll never know what kind of sapling it is
- • 4:59 PM - If I want them to, blocks drop a different item (OH THE POWER I HOLD!!!)
- • 4:51 PM - Two new types of trees; apple and orange
- • 4:38 PM - Cacti grow!
- • 4:28 PM - Lava and acid hurt you (and it's hard to get out - good luck getting out)
- • 4:12 PM - Added a water moving sound (It's terrible but it's a start)

- • 4:03 PM - Cacti will disapear (like minecraft) if they aren't on sand or have a block next them

- • *11:48 AM- (not including 1 line scripts) Over 1,250 lines of code! (I came up with everything - I'm not a script copier)
- • 11:42 AM - Placing items replaces water, acid, and lava
- • 11:30 AM - Sand makes a sound now
- • 11:23 AM - Item count decreases when placed, item disappears when item count is zero, hence: ITEM PLACING WORKS!!!
- • 11:21 AM - Based on the selected mini-inventory item type, pressing shift and clicking will place that item type
- • 11:01 AM - Number keys will select a item from the mini-inventory
- • 10:51 AM - A second block selector is for placing blocks!
- • 10:19 AM - Made a script that helps with a corrupted portion of the world
- • 10:10 AM - Finnished panning and volume script
- ---Day 7 (6-19-11)---
- • 7:49 PM - Stepping sounds! *annoying*
- • 7:21 PM - Items in inventory with both swap, and add together
- • 7:10 PM - Mines are a little bit thinner and longer
- • 7:03 PM - Items in inventory are now movable
- • 6:07 PM - Item count will no longers say "1"
- • 5:56 PM - Lava and acid have similar physics as water, but lava is 10 times slower, and acid is 3 times slower
- • 5:53 PM - Water ontop of lava/acid = obsidian; water next to lava/acid = cobblestone
- • 5:26 PM - Water has way more physics!
- • 5:06 PM - Water has a "terraria" type physics now!
- • 4:51 PM - You can't mine whilst paused
- • 4:25 PM - Made sand more efficient in falling, and burn in acid and lava (and said Happy Fathers Day to my dad)
- • 3:26 PM - Saves every 10 seconds
- • 3:20 PM - New saving/loading screen includes the ability to save and name worlds
- • 2:07 PM - Made jumping less glitchy by making it 2 blocks high instead of 1.5
- • 1:55 PM - Saving and loading seems to work (My noodles were great!)

- • 7:26 PM - Items can now drop in caves, like they should!
- • 6:29 PM - Fixed major glitches in dropped items!
- • 6:25 PM - Fixed major glitches in mining... realized how hard this will be!

- • Walking was okay but some glitches (fixed day 7) (added animation day 8)
- • Mining was terrible (fixed day 6) (added wearing-down day 10)
- • Item drops were terrible also; didn't fall (fixed day 6)
- • Crafting and inventory didn't exist (inventory fixed day 7 and 8) (added crafting table day 10)
- • No title screen, loading screen, etc.
- • Couldn't save/load (fixed day 7)
