- A harpy sporting a top hat and tails briefly appears and then vanishes.
- Tristitia says, "Well, damn."
- Raising his quarterstaff a foot into the air, Miriew drives its end into the ground with a dull
- thud. A flash of incandescent light suddenly manifests to brightly illuminate the surrounding
- area.
- Tristitia stands before you, glowing brightly.
- Tristitia tosses a sparkling cloud of dust over herself, and vanishes little by little into
- invisibility.
- Miriew gives a pained sigh.
- Miriew raises his hand in greeting and says "Hi!"
- Raem smirks.
- Tristitia says, "Just a friendly sentinel, patrolling for forest fires."
- Raem says in a measured voice, "Should have expected you."
- Miriew grins and nods.
- Tristitia says, "Err..."
- Tristitia ceases to wield a Wyvern's Lash in her left hand.
- Tristitia ceases to wield a Shield of Absorption in her right hand.
- Tristitia begins to wield an ordinary, rustic trident in her left hand.
- Raem says in a measured voice, "Okay, don't pull that shit again."
- Tristitia says, "Yes, a friendly sentinel coming to fight this druid."
- Miriew nods his head slowly, looking very wise.
- Miriew says in a bubbly, slightly squeaky voice, "I see!"
- Raem gets to his feet slowly, using his staff as a support.
- Miriew says in a bubbly, slightly squeaky voice, "Keep it fair then."
- Miriew taps his nose knowingly.
- Raem rolls his eyes in an exaggerated manner.
- Miriew says in a bubbly, slightly squeaky voice, "Well, as fair as can be for fighting."
- The corners of Miriew's mouth turn up as he grins mischievously.
- Raem says in a measured voice, "You know I don't have any concept of fairness."
- Miriew chuckles long and heartily.
- Raem stares implacably at Tristitia.
- Tristitia quite fairly begins to immediately charge toward Raem, thrusting her trident in a clumsy
- overhand movement. "Time to brawl, druid!"
- Raem dodges the clumsy attempt nimbly. He says with a sigh, "not a damn druid."
- Raem throws his arms wide and shouts out words of elemental power.
- Tendrils of green snake up from the ground, entwining themselves about Raem's feet, ankles, and
- thighs.
- The vines progress up Raem's torso, growing larger and more numerous all the while. Before long,
- they have wrapped their sinuous limbs around his head and he is completely covered in undulating and
- thorny vines.
- Raem swells in size as the vines send tiny tendrils into his skin, and soon he radiates power. His
- transformation into a Viridian is complete.
- Miriew moves to the edge of his grove and sits down quietly to observe.
- Raem says in a measured voice, "See?"
- Tristitia takes the few moments of Raem's physical change to swap her trident for the shield she
- wears on her back. She then begins to uncoil her lash, her eyes fixing upon Raem in far too
- intense a manner.
- Tristitia ceases to wield an ordinary, rustic trident in her left hand.
- Tristitia begins to wield a Shield of Absorption in her left hand.
- Tristitia begins to wield a Wyvern's Lash in her right hand.
- Miriew says quietly in a bubbly, slightly squeaky voice, "Excuse me, best of luck friend."
- Miriew grabs hold of a nearby branch and swings up and out of sight into the treetops.
- Raem closes his eyes for a moment, breathing in and out in an attempt to stay
- calm, but the breaths grow shaky and he clenches his fists. As he opens his eyes ever so slowly,
- a dark grin creeps across his face. Long thorned tendrils begin to undulate around his form,
- seemingly focused on Tristitia. Without warning, one lashes forward for her throat.
- Miriew enters from the southwest, a wyvern reflected in his eyes.
- Miriew quietly resumes his position at the edge of the grove.
- Tristitia's mesmerizing stare is broken the moment a tendril lashes out toward her. Her shield
- held ready in a blocking position, she raises it, keeping it as far from her body as possible.
- The move deflects the tendril, and the serpent follows up with a lash of her whip that follows
- the receding tendril.
- Raem attempts to pull himself out of harm's way, but with the added weight of
- his Viridian form is only able to avoid some of the brunt of the damage. He lets out a list of
- swears under his breath that you didn't know existed as he grasps his damaged arm. Rage flashes
- in his eyes before he lunges forward, quarterstaff in hand, bringing it down fast towards
- Tristitia's head.
- Raem says in an irritated, unsteady voice, "Told you you don't want to test me."
- Tristitia is a lean and lithe creature, easily able to avoid a mortal blow. However, she misses a
- step as she evades and takes a heavy hit to her shield shoulder, bruising it enough to make her
- let go of the heavy object. She shakes her arm, gripping it and mouthing the word "ow!" while she
- slips a dirk into that hand instead and keeps it poised near her torso.
- Tristitia says, "Damn, druid. You've a hell of a temper this month, for sure. What's eatin' ya?
- The elk?"
- Tristitia ceases to wield a Shield of Absorption in her left hand.
- Tristitia begins to wield a slender, razor-sharp dirk in her left hand.
- Raem glares at Tristitia, seething with rage, obviously unprepared for his blow
- to miss his target. Electricity crackles around his form as he fumes. He reaches out a shaky,
- vine-wreathed arm and points it at Tristitia, staring directly into Tristitia's eyes. Tendrils
- unfurl from beneath him and fling themselves forward to wrap around his target's ankles.
- Raem says in an enraged voice, "This really isn't fucking funny."
- Tristitia's own eyes widen with alarm at the crackling of electricity. "Tree magic," she spits in
- disgust and as the tendrils race toward her ankles, her lash races toward Raem's head in an attempt
- to knock his glasses away. Whether or not her lash hits its mark, she trips on the tendrils as
- she tries to then leaps backward and falls onto her back.
- Glass shatters as Raem's glasses are broken under the force of Tristitia's whip.
- He growls menacingly under his breath as he reels from the blow. "You like my 'tree magic', huh?"
- he snarls. His vines tighten their grip around Tristitia. The electricity takes physical form as
- a ball of energy forms in one hand. He squints at he looks for his target before raising his arms
- forward with a sudden movement, attempting to paralyse her with a nasty surge of electrical
- energy.
- Raem removes a pair of half-moon glasses.
- Tristitia further befuddles Raem's attack by leaving behind a brief illusion of herself as she
- slips to the side. "Oh, hell. Oh, damn it!" She dashes away a short ways, placing some distance
- between the two combatants.
- Tristitia says, "Sylvan, please... Please, stop. I'm sorry, I didn't mean-- Where did you get
- those? I swear I'll replace them!"
- Raem squints towards Tristitia in a not-so-menacing attempt to glare at her. He clenches his fists and
- bites his lip, still fuming with rage.
- Raem says in an enraged voice, "You come over here. To -MY- friend's grove."
- Raem says in an enraged voice, "-YOU- start the fight."
- Raem says in an enraged voice, "For -NO- real fucking reason except you think it's fucking funny to
- piss off the viney guy."
- Raem in an enraged voice, "RIGHT?"
- Raem says in an enraged voice, "And now... you're -SORRY-?"
- Raem says in an enraged voice, "I don't want your fucking pity."
- Tristitia nods weakly, which might be taken as a further insult in light of Raem's difficulty with
- sight at the moment.
- Raem spits on the ground in disgust.
- Raem says in an enraged voice, "Just."
- Raem says in an enraged voice, "Just."
- Raem quivers with rage.
- Tristitia says, "Look, I just wanted to tussle a bit. I didn't want to-- Please let me make it up
- to you!"
- Raem exclaims in an enraged voice, "JUST GO THE FUCK AWAY, OKAY? NOT IN THE MOOD FOR THIS
- BULLSHIT!"
- Splashed with the reflected radiance of the stars, Achaea's outermost ring glitters ghostly pale
- against the night sky.
- Raem whispers angrily to Tristitia in an enraged voice, "You're not welcome in this grove."
- Raem says in an enraged voice, "I'll get my own Gods-damned glasses."
- Raem scoffs in disgust.
- Tristitia shrinks back, appearing quite contrite. She turns toward Miriew with a pleading
- expression.
- Raem squints his eyes at his fellow adventurers.
- Raem says in a shaky voice, "Leave me alone."
- Raem says in a shaky voice, "J-just."
- Raem says in a shaky voice, "Leave... me alone."
- The vines covering the form of the Viridian Raem retreat, revealing his true form.
- Raem stumbles out towards the southwest, tripping over a root on the way.
