- I just stayed up until 4 in the morning because of a "limited time release" of the Rosalina amiibo on Future Shop's website, only to find the entire inventory sold out faster than I could click "add to cart". Then I realized that this is wasn't an isolated incident. The Amiibo launch has been a complete and utter disaster in Canada and the United States and it is beyond frustrating as a long-time Nintendo fan. It is downright embarrassing. When more than 50% of the Amiibos released so far are only available on eBay for $60+ dollars, there is a problem. When customers have to stay awake for ungodly hours for a slim chance of having the only opportunity to purchase many of the amiibos, there is a problem. When retail employees are bombarded every day with the same questions about why there are no amiibos on the shelf, there is a problem. When pre-orders sell out after 2 hours, and even those cannot be fullfilled, there is a problem.
