  1. >In the final moments of your life, at your last day, you were burdened with many, many regrets.
  2. >Stupid, selfish, impulsive actions hounded your life.
  3. >You mourned the roads not taken, the opportunities you missed.
  4. >But most of all, you mourned the stupid things you did in your life.
  5. >The memory of your fist slamming into Blueblood's muzzle is not one of those things you die regretting.
  6. >To your dying day, you'll remember every nuance of the moment your fist meets his face.
  7. >The satisfying CRACK of impact, the way his mouth twisted up, the shocked expression on his face.
  8. >It would be one of the sweetest memories of your life.
  9. >Blueblood loses his balance completely, falling flat on his white-furred ass as the ponies stare at you in various states of shock.
  10. >You shake your hand and smile as Blueblood stares up at you, blood dripping from one corner of his mouth.
  11. >He shifts, getting halfway up before falling backwards, still in shock.
  12. >He works his jaw, eyes wide, and then spits a tooth into his hoof.
  13. >He stares at that tooth for a long moment, as if confused about how it got there, then he looks up at you.
  14. >"You're dead."
  15. "And you're a sick nut job. I don't care what Sweetie did to you, you can't go around killing ki-"
  16. >"Razor."
  17. >A green blur interrupts your tirade, slamming you into the ground.
  18. >Your breath leaves you in a great gasp as the green blur lifts a hoof and slams it into your stomach.
  19. >You hear something snap, and you shout out in pain.
  20. >What the fuck were they feeding this-
  21. >"ENOUGH!"
  22. >The green pony on top of you is flung away, and you feel yourself dragged to your feet and slammed against the opposite wall.
  23.
  24. >Light, blazing and furious, erupts from Celestia as she steps forward between you, Razor, and Blueblood.
  25. >"I have heard enough."
  26. >Blueblood sputters at her, furious and still bleeding from his neck and mouth.
  27. >"Princess, he STRUCK me! With his filthy ape hands! That monstrous little foal tried to tear out my throat! She was obviously corrupted by h-"
  28. >Celestia looks at him.
  29. >She just looks.
  30. >And he shuts the hell up.
  31. >"I said I have heard enough, Blueblood. You have threatened to kill not one, but TWO of my subjects in my presence. Think about that very, very carefully."
  32. " Yeah, you narcissistic ba-"
  33. >Celestia turns to look at you.
  34. >"And you, Anonymous. We do not settle things with violence. We are not beasts."
  35. >You wince. Low blow, Celestia.
  36. "Okay, right. I'm not gonna apologize for punching a would be child-killer in the face, but I get your point."
  37. >Celestia accepts this with a serene nod, while Blueblood gapes from his spot against the wall.
  38. >"Celestia, he ASSAULTED me! A member of the Royal Family. The Duke of Canterlot! In the days of Platinum, he would be put to death!"
  39. >Celestia smiles at Blueblood.
  40. >"Then it is a good thing these are not the days of Platinum. Although I do applaud you for reading your history."
  41. >Blueblood growls as Celestia lowers the both of you to the ground.
  42. >"That filly tried to kill me, Celestia. She did...something, to your own Royal Guards. She needs to be stopped. And I'm the stallion to stop her. Razor, Sparkler, with me."
  43. >Blueblood abruptly stumbles out of the hallway, trailed by his two flunkies.
  44. >Celestia sighs and lowers her eyes, as if exhausted.
  45. >You can find time later to care about that. Right now, you need to see to Rarity.
  46.
  47.
  48. >Princess Luna brushes past you on her way to her sister, her mouth already open.
  49. >You don't hear what she's saying. You barely even acknowledge she's there.
  50. >You just see Rarity, still and cold and white as an alabaster statue.
  51. >She looks impassive, almost cold, from a distance.
  52. >But you can see the tells. The way her shoulders shake, the far away look in her eyes.
  53. >She's shaken. Terrified even.
  54. >You kneel down in front of her, ever mindful of the difference in height between you two.
  55. "Hey."
  56. >"Hello, Anon."
  57. "How are you holding up?"
  58. >"Me? Fine, Anon. I am a lady, Anonymous, and part of being a lady is having unflappable com...composure."
  59. >She choked up on that last part.
  60. "Rarity."
  61. >"Hmmm?"
  62. "She's gonna be okay."
  63. >You reach out your arms and wrap her up in a hug.
  64. >Her shoulders start to shake.
  65. >"Anonymous, Sweetie...she....her teeth, and the blood...And Blueblood's going to..."
  66. "Ssssshhhh, sssshhhhh."
  67. >You rock back and forth with her as her shaking increases.
  68. >A sob hitches her chest, and you feel a bit of wetness on your shirt where you hold her.
  69. >"Anon. I...I can't...I can't take all of this...I can't deal with..."
  70. "Ssshhhh, I'm here. It'll be okay. We'll deal with it together."
  71. >Rarity lets out a shuddering breath, crying silently into your chest.
  72. >You let her cry, holding her and rocking her gently, just trying to be there for her.
  73. >To give her something, finally, instead of just taking.
  74. "I'm going to find her. Before Blueblood does."
  75.
  76.
  77. >Rarity leans back from your chest, sniffling quietly.
  78. >"H...How are you going to do that?"
  79. >You smile at her.
  80. "Leave that to me, marshmallow."
  81. >She smirks at you.
  82. >"Will you EVER stop calling me that?"
  83. "Nope."
  84. >Her smirk widens into a smile, and she disengages from her arms.
  85. >You have to strain to hear it, but you still catch her whispering, "Good."
  86. >You get to your feet as Rarity falls back on four hooves, her composure regained.
  87. >You turn and look at the two Princesses.
  88. "Celestia, Luna?"
  89. >Celestia smiles at you, while Luna frowns.
  90. >"Yes, Anonymous?"
  91. >"What is thy wish, creature?"
  92. "What are you two going to do."
  93. >Luna looks offended, but Celestia sighs, as if tired.
  94. >"Anonymous, one of my subjects is out trying to kill a child, and the other subject, that child, is trying to eat ponies, and apparently spreads whatever unnatural hunger she has to her victims. They burn and run in my presence. What CAN we do?"
  95. >You smile at the princesses at Luna frowns at her sister.
  96. >"Celestia, please. We cannot leave Blueblood to hunt down and kill a filly, no matter WHAT is wrong with her."
  97. >Celestia rounds on her sister.
  98. >"We cannot FIND the filly, either. So how do you suppose we-"
  99. >You cough, interrupting the royal sisters.
  100. "I can find her."
  101. >Celestia frowns.
  102. >"Oh? And what will you need to track her down? What tools?"
  103. >You close your eyes and inhale. You feel it there, the little tatters of the dark half, still crying out.
  104. >You reach out and grasp them by the throat.
  105. >You open your eyes and inhale. The smell comes to you, the smell of blood and pony. Sweetie Belle.
  106. "Get me a chariot."
  107.
  108.
  109.
  110. >You inhale again, against the racing wind.
  111. >You can smell everything.
  112. >You can smell the ponies who used this chariot before you.
  113. >The sweat of the guards who pull it.
  114. >The trees and the grass that you race over as you fly.
  115. >Celestia, who smells only faintly of pony, and more powerfully of ozone and clean-burning fire.
  116. >She offered to join you on your hunt for Sweetie, to protect her if Blueblood caught up, and to...put an end to things, if it came to it.
  117. >You inhale again.
  118. >You can smell her, of course.
  119. >That faint scent of vanilla, of roses, and the smell of immaculately cleaned fur.
  120. >Rarity.
  121. >She balked at the idea of having you chase after her sister alone, and instead she rides at your side, peering over the side of the chariot.
  122. >Uselessly, but the last time you mentioned her night vision she kicked you in the leg.
  123. >You just need to concentrate on the smells.
  124. >The trail was easy to follow. Blood and pre...pony scent, mixed together with the sickly sweet smell of hidden rot.
  125. >Sweetie Belle.
  126. >You keep your eyes closed and follow your nose, pointing outward to the trail's end.
  127. "There. She's there. With those things she brought. There's something wrong with her. I can smell it. Whatever's wrong with her, it's getting worse."
  128. >Rarity looks over the side of the rail.
  129. >"All the more reason to make haste."
  130. >You open your eyes to see where Sweetie has holed up.
  131. >The Everfree Forest.
  132. >Celestia follows your finger, and her eyes narrow.
  133. >"Guards. Take us down."
  134.
  135.
  136. >The guards ponies start to descend, wings pumping, when everything goes to hell.
  137. >Shadows, swift and lithe and armored like their brethren, rise out of the forest like arrows.
  138. >Before you can blink, one guard pony is torn free of his saddle by three of the flying horrors and dragged down beneath the forest canopy.
  139. >In the spaces between your next breath, three more of the things attach themselves to a second guardspony.
  140. >You see Celestia open her wings out of the corner of your eye, and light fills the night sky, sending the shadowy former Royal Guards skittering away, back down to Earth.
  141. >The damage, unfortunately, has already been done. The chariot, off balance, begins to fall from the sky, even with the guards frantically trying keep it aloft.
  142. >You grab the rails, silently screaming as the Royal Chariot shifts in the air. Heights were never your thing.
  143. >Celestia calmly delivers orders to her Guard, as if she were having tea.
  144. >"Try to set us down as gently as you can."
  145. >You hold back a dry heave as the craft shifts again.
  146. "Might want to just do that no-"
  147. >Your words cut off as a tremendous roar pierces your ears, and a new scent comes to your nose.
  148. >Fire, and ash, and reptilian musk.
  149. >Something huge breaks the forest canopy, belching a cloud of fire and smoke from it's jaws.
  150. >You watch as the dragon rises free of the trees and turns towards you, smoke and fire billowing out of it's mouth.
  151. >You recognize that single yellow eye. That baleful stare.
  152. >Razorfang.
  153. >"New plan. Guards, please escort Miss Rarity and Anonymous to the ground."
  154. "What are you going to do, then?"
  155. >"Hold off the dragon, of course."
  156. >Celestia leaps off the chariot.
  157.
  158.
  159.
  160. "WHAT IN THE BLOODY HELL ARE YOU DOING, CELESTIA!?"
  161. >The pony monarch ignores you, flapping her wings towards the oncoming green beast, a tiny white gnat facing down an oncoming mountain of fang and claw.
  162. >Razorfang, for his part, has eyes only for you.
  163. >His rumbling voice carries across the vast gulf of distance between you and he
  164. >"I see you, thief. I can smell the stink on your mongrel hide. You, who took my eye. You, who stole from my hoard. I will tear you limb from limb, and then bake your bones with my breath.
  165. >The massive dragon flaps his wings, accelerating, before unleashing a massive gout of fire in your direction.
  166. >You cringe at the expected heat, but then freeze as white light flares in your vision.
  167. >Celestia, surrounded by the white glow of her horn's magic, dives into the flames, diverting them away from you.
  168. >Razorfang recoils, going upright in the air, as Celestia charges at him, her horn already firing off white bolts of magic.
  169. >"She appears to be holding off the dragon," Rarity drily comments from beside you.
  170. >You open your mouth to snark back at her, but quickly close it as your ride dips towards the ground.
  171. >Rarity lets out a surprise scream as the guard ponies come to a hard landing, hooves scrambling in the forest loam as they slide to a stop.
  172. >You immediately jump out, shaking yourself.
  173. "I hate flying. I thought it was bad chained up, but that...ugh. Next time can we just take ho-."
  174. >You cut yourself off.
  175. >Rarity is smirking at you as she clambers out of the chariot.
  176. "Nevermind. Sweetie Belle."
  177. >She nods slowly, and you sniff the air as the guards unhook themselves from the Chariot.
  178.
  179.
  180.
  181. >The stink is everywhere. Blood and rot and pony and fear and the rich scent of earth.
  182. >You have to stop yourself from sniffing and crouching.
  183. >You are in control here, not...It.
  184. >It's trying, of course. You opened the door for it to try when you changed your nose.
  185. >The zebra's potion would conform to YOUR desires, after all. But if you started desiring what It desired, then things could get...hairy.
  186. "They're this way."
  187. >You point ahead of you, and the Royal Guards begin to march, spears held high.
  188. >You and Rarity stay in the middle of the armored guard party.
  189. >Neither of you possess weaponry, and you're certainly not covered in armor.
  190. >So you just have t-
  191. >"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
  192. >You whip your head around as one of the guards is torn off of his hooves and pulled into the forest.
  193. >The smell is everywhere now, and hisses split the night air.
  194. >The guards start shouting and lifting their spears, and that's when the first one steps out of the shadows, charging at his former brother with frightening speed.
  195. >The vampony dodges an outhrust spear and knocks the brave Royal Guard to the ground, already sinking it's teeth into the guard's neck.
  196. >Everybody panics.
  197. >Guards start running, vamponies dropping from the trees onto their backs as they desert.
  198. >"Anonymous!"
  199. >You turn your head and start cursing as you see a vampony Guard close on Rarity, hissing.
  200. >You kick it in the head, wincing at the cracking sound it makes, and dive at Rarity, scooping her up in your arms as you start running.
  201. >"Anonymous waaaiiiit!"
  202. "No time, we gotta go!"
  203. >You shift her around, carrying her piggyback style with her hooves in your hands as the two of you flee.
  204.
  205.
  206. >"Anonymous."
  207. "Not now!"
  208. >"Anonymous this is incredibly uncomfortable."
  209. "You're telling me! I'm the one carrying you!"
  210. >You hear a sharp gasp from behind you as you run through the woods.
  211. >"Are you calling me f-fat?"
  212. >Oh god no.
  213. "NOW IS REALLY NOT THE TIME FOR THIS, RARITY!"
  214. >She sniffs a bit.
  215. >"Sorry. I think we lost them, though."
  216. "We didn't. And you're not fat. At least, I'm pretty sure you're not. I don't know much about p-"
  217. >"Stop."
  218. "Done."
  219. >The pair of you have been bantering for the past few minutes as you make your way through the forest. You could smell the pony scent in the woods behind you, as well as the rotten blood stink of Sweetie's unfortunate victims.
  220. >"But Anonymous, can you please put me down?"
  221. "Is it really that bad?"
  222. >"You've been holding my hooves up by your chest and I'm almost sure my back is about to snap in half."
  223. "Okay, right, letting you down."
  224. >You squat and release her legs, letting her slip off your back, which she does so gratefully.
  225. >"Much better. Can you still track Sweetie? Are we close?"
  226. "Yes to both questions. She hasn't moved. I don't know if she' sending the Guards out or if they're just coming for us on their own. I just hope that whatever she did to them is fixable."
  227. >Rarity shudders.
  228. >"It has to be. SHE has to be. I won't leave Sweetie Belle like...that."
  229. "I won't either. We'll do whatever we can. We just have to catch her, first."
  230. >You step forward, and then freeze as something cold taps the back of your neck.
  231. >"A touching sentiment, really. I admire your loyalty to your own monstrous kind. It's a shame that when I catch her I'll have to kill her."
  232. >Blueblood.
  233.
  234.
  235. Music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bX4qZtwHgcE
  236. >He looks terrible.
  237. >His mane hangs in ragged yellow strands over his horned head, and bloodshot eyes glare at you from beneath the sweat-soaked mane. His neck has been hastily patched with a bit of cloth, and his fine clothing is torn and ragged, as if he'd been running through the forest.
  238. >But more importantly, he has a spear to your neck.
  239. "Want to get your pointy stick away from my throat?"
  240. >He smiles, showing those perfect white teeth.
  241. >"No, I don't think I do. I'm not letting you go to that little abomination in there just so you can spirit her away to safety."
  242. >Your eyes widen, and you glance at the dark copse of trees behind Blubelood.
  243. >"Yes, she's in there, Anonymous. Razor led us right to her, and then dropped me, Sparkler, and a squad of my finest personal guard to...take her into custody. She changed my guard. All of them. Drank them like they were barrels of cider."
  244. >His eyes are wide and crazed.
  245. >"But I escaped. She still needs to die, Anonymous. And I think you will prove to be the perfect tool for killing her."
  246. "Really?"
  247. >"Oh yes."
  248. "Care to elaborate on that?"
  249. >"You're going to change, and kill that filly."
  250. "Not bloody likely. I'm done with that beast, and there isn't anything you can offer me that would make me kill a child."
  251. >He smiles.
  252. >"Oh, you'll do it."
  253. "Or else..."
  254. >"Or else Sparkler will slit this white harlot's throat."
  255. >He prods you with the spear, and you turn halfway around.
  256. >You see Rarity, her head tilted upwards, and the sharp blade of a spear right next to her throat.
  257. >A cold-faced Amethyst Star sits behind Rarity, levitating the spear to her throat.
  258. "No..."
  259. >"What was that about anything I can offer?"
  260.
  261.
  262. "Let her go."
  263. >"I don't think so."
  264. >You whirl on him, curling your hands like claws.
  265. >"Let her go, or I'll change and rip you to shreds."
  266. >He smirks again.
  267. >"No you won't. You wouldn't risk hurting your precious Miss Rarity. And if you start, I'll just have Sparkler tear her throat out before you can react."
  268. >You unclench your fists and visibly deflate.
  269. "Blueblood. Please. I'll do whatever you want. Just...let her go."
  270. >He smiles.
  271. >"Yes, you will indeed do whatever I want. And I want you to kill that filly."
  272. >"Anon, no! He-"
  273. >Rarity's voice cuts off with a pained grunt as the speartip slices her neck lightly, and Blueblood turns on her.
  274. >"Keep her silent, Sparkler. Another word out of her and I want you to cut off an ear. Then maybe we'll scar up that pretty little face."
  275. >Rarity freezes, her blue eyes glittering with hatred at Blueblood.
  276. >He smiles even wider.
  277. >"That's what I thought."
  278.
  279. "Please. Blueblood, you don't have to do this. She's just a little girl. She didn't know what she was doing. She-"
  280. >"Shut up."
  281. >He prods you with the spear.
  282. >"She's in there. In the clearing. Watching us. You'll go in first, change, and when she's busy with you, I'll stab her through her filthy little heart."
  283. >He prods you again, and you stumble.
  284. >"Now get moving."
  285. >You look back at Rarity's terrified face, and then you walk forwards, pushing through the trees, Blueblood's spear still pressed against your spine.
  286. >The smell is strong here, in the dark clearing of trees.
  287. >True to Blueblood's words, you see her there, hunched over a deer.
  288. >She's filthy, covered in broken branches and leaves.
  289. >She turns to look as you enter, her eyes glowing a sinister crimson.
  290. >She hisses.
  291. >Sweetie Belle.
  292.
  293. Music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZgFRQSZAzA
  294. >"Anonymoussss..."
  295. >Her voice is like a thousand snakes, all hissing at you at once.
  296. >From inside your ear.
  297. "Sweetie, I'm here to help."
  298. >Her only response is a wordless hiss.
  299. >Sweetie doesn't appear to be home right now, and you don't think she's taking a message.
  300. >"They told me about you. Beast-blooded, they said. You're here to hurt me. To stop me from spreading the Gift. You want me to starve, don't you?"
  301. "...What?"
  302. >"Don't lie to me! You'll come with your stakes and your fire, but I'm stronger than YOU!"
  303. >Okay, that was kind of like a voice crack. That's a good sign.
  304. "Sweetie, I'm not sure what the hell you're talking about, but I'm not here to hurt you. I want to help."
  305. >Her mouth spreads open into a fanged grin.
  306. >"I heard you talk to the Prince. You want to kill me. He has Rarity. You can't stop me, Anon. Nopony can."
  307. >She gets a far away look in her crimson orbs.
  308. >"My children will spread the Gift all across Equestria!"
  309. >What the fuck is she talking about?
  310. >You feel a spear prod your back, and you stumble forward again.
  311. >Sweetie Belle snaps back to reality, and you hear a hissing roar and a crack of wood.
  312. >Then, moments later, you're airborne.
  313. >You slam into a tree, back first, and slide to the dirt.
  314. >Moments later, Blueblood rolls across the dirt to lie next to you, already unconscious.
  315. >You blink, and Sweetie Belle's in front of you.
  316. >"It's okay, Anon. He's gone, now. Just sleepy, sleepy food."
  317. >She frowns as you recoil.
  318. >"You don't understand, do you? Not yet. It's okay. I'll let you see. I'll give you the Gift."
  319. >You don't have time to scream as her fangs close on your neck.
  320.
  321.
  322. >You choke as her fangs pierce your neck, and immediately, exhaustion settles over your body, your energy draining away.
  323. >You see her throat move as blood flows from your neck into her stomach.
  324. >You feebly lift an arm to try to push her off you, but it's like trying to lift a boulder with a toothpick.
  325. "Sweetie...Sweetie gitoff..."
  326. >Her eyes dart to yours, and you want to recoil at the dark flee that fills them.
  327. >Then she blinks, her eyes screwing up in confusion.
  328. >She recoils, withdrawing her fangs and gagging.
  329. >Your lethargy departs with her teeth, and you sit up, breathing hard, as Sweetie pulls back from you, still gagging.
  330. >She struggles to speak past her heaving, your blood still running from her mouth.
  331. >"Anon!? Anon! Help! The necklace, Anon! They keep whispering in my head, telling me to do things! They want me to hurt the Princess, Anon! I'm scared!"
  332. >The voice cracks confirm it.
  333. >THAT was the real Sweetie Belle.
  334. "What necklace, what are you talking about?"
  335. >Sweetie lifts a hoof to her throat, pawing at the filthy fur there, and you see a faint red line appear, like an incision.
  336. >Then her hoof shakes and falters.
  337. >Her eyes snap up to yours.
  338. >"We had almost forgotten. Beast blood. Filthy, disgusting swill. I am too new, too young, to consume it. I will still turn you. I will just purge you, first."
  339. >You don't like the sound of that.
  340. >You blink, and Sweetie Belle blurs in your vision.
  341. >The dark half surges in your mind, and you feel your eyes shift.
  342. >It's like time slows down for a brief moment, giving you a clear view of a charging Sweetie Belle.
  343. >You lift up your arms and grab her hooves as she slams you into a tree.
  344.

  346.
  347. >You bear down on the single tiny hoof pinning you to the tree, trying to force her off you.
  348. >To your shock, her hoof slides you up the tree, lifting you like so much dead weight.
  349. >She lifts with you, hooves levitating off the ground so that she's eye level with your chest.
  350. >"Yesss...I'll Gift you, show you the truth. You'll understand, see what I see. It's just your heart...it beats so fast, pumping that foulness through you. I just have to take it out, and you can join me. We can change Rarity together, Anon. Show her eternity. No more loss, or pain, or fear, or suffering. Just happiness, eternally."
  351. >She opens her mouth, blood dripping from her fangs, and you blink again.
  352. >Your eyes are It's eyes, yellow and wide.
  353. >You can see now. A thin red line of heat underneath her skin, with a red orb at the nape of her neck. The necklace.
  354. >You desperately reach inside your head, twisting your desires, struggling to call up more of that thing's strength.
  355. >Each change you make on your body, your eyes, your nose, your senses, all empower it.
  356. >It is tatters and shards no longer, but a full-bodied wolf shadow, glaring at you from the depths of your mind.
  357. >Change, it tells you. Change, and tear them all to shreds.
  358. >You ignore it.
  359. >You are not a beast, at heart.
  360. >That is not your nature.
  361. >What you are is a thief.
  362. >And all you have to do is steal.
  363. >You flex your hands, and wince as your nails lengthen and thicken into short claws.
  364. >Sweetie Belle's head darts towards your chest.
  365. >You grab her around the throat with your hands.
  366. >Your fingers slice her skin as her mouth tears a chunk out of your chest.
  367.
  368.
  369. >Her eyes widen suddenly, and she pulls back, still clutching a mouthful of your skin and muscle.
  370. >You scream as her razor-sharp teeth rip and tear at the tissue above your heart.
  371. >You fingers scrabble as you dig at the small incision in her neck.
  372. >Your fingers touch something cold and hard.
  373. >And silver.
  374. >Fire erupts at your fingertips as you pull, and Sweetie begins to scream.
  375. >You clench your fingers, even as they burn, and you feel your talons begin to tear through a link of the soft metal.
  376. >You tug once, twice, and a red line glows around Sweetie's neck, her screams rising and lowering in pitch as four voices scream through her.
  377. >The chain, a glowing red inferno of silver and rubies, unwraps from Sweetie's neck, bathing the filly in red light.
  378. >Red lines, thick and viscous, flow from the pendant as you hold it aloft, one of them pouring over Sweetie.
  379. >Others, great thick red lines of magic and blood, flow from the pendant into the forest, and high pitched hissing and screaming fills your ears.
  380. >You shout in agony as the silver of the pendant burns your hand, but you don't dare drop it.
  381. >Not until she's safe. Not until she's okay.
  382. >The agony grows in your hand, and you glance down at the red magic encasing Sweetie.
  383. >It ebbs and flows, washing over her like a tide of blood and water, until it washes away completely.
  384. >Leaving a sleeping, clean, white coated filly behind.
  385. >A FANGLESS white coated filly.
  386. >You glance up at the necklace as the red lines begin to retract, and white-red light begins to build in your vision.
  387. >The pain becomes excruciating, and you struggle to drop the pendant.
  388. >Then the white light explodes, and all you know is darkness.

  391. >You are not alone in the dark.
  392. >He is here, the wolf that preys on your nature.
  393. >The one you must never feed.
  394. >He talks to you, in a voice only you can hear and understand.
  395. >He speaks to you of the things you could accomplish with him at your side.
  396. >If you would renounce your dominance, and allow the Zebra's potion to shape the pair of you into something greater.
  397. >You open your eyes, wincing at the brightness of the light that burns your vision.
  398. >A pair of green eyes stare into yours.
  399. >"Rarity! Rarity he's awake!"
  400. >The green eyes recede, and a set of tiny hooves hitting a hard surface make their way away from you.
  401. >Mere seconds later, the sound of hooves returns.
  402. >You shift in the white bed you lie in, trying to catch a glimpse of her.
  403. >She sweeps into the room like a white hurricane, her sapphire orbs filling your vision as she leans over you.
  404. >A hoof softly presses your chest.
  405. >"Anonymous? Anon are you alright?"
  406. "M'fine. Light's real bright. Head hurts. Sweetie okay?"
  407. >She smiles at you, tears in the corner of her eyes.
  408. >"Sweetie's fine, Anon. You saved her. Saved the Guards. Saved everyone. Nopony knows how, but you did it."
  409. >You smile.
  410. "Good. Did some good. Glad 'bout that."
  411. >You lie your head back on the pillow, exhaling as you think.
  412. "Don't suppose Celestia put up a reward for all that, did she?"
  413. >Rarity rolls her eyes, but then smiles as she moves her head closer to yours.
  414. >"No, but I believe I can offer a better reward than the Princess could."
  415. "Oh really? What cou-"
  416. >A pair of white lips meet yours, and you feel her tongue invade your mouth.
  417. >Then she pulls back, smiling.
  418. "That...that'll do."

  420. Blueblood's perspective-Epilogue
  421.
  422. "Another."
  423. >"My Lord, I believe you've had enoug-"
  424. >You toss a sour glance Sparkler's way, and she shuts up.
  425. >Your servant refills your glass.
  426. >You down it immediately, not noticing or caring the vintage or brand of drink.
  427. >You just needed the booze.
  428. >Your plans were in shambles. Razor was out of commission after his ill-advised bout with the Princess, at least a third of his scales peeled and cracked from her magic.
  429. >The stupid lizard bastard was lucky he still had his OTHER eye.
  430. >You were glad the foolish monster had at least consented to returning to pony form after being beaten so soundly.
  431. >You would have to find another contact. Razorfang was unreliable, and his training had been less then useless when the monsters came for your guard.
  432. "Another."
  433. >You drink again, your thoughts slurring as you meditate on recent events.
  434. >Anonymous. Anonymous. Anonymous. That mindless monster had not only PHSYICALLY ASSAULTED you, he had gotten away with it, thanks to that vapid whore on the throne.
  435. >And Little Miss Rarity had to go and get herself involved, feeding and housing not one but TWO monsters.
  436. >It didn't matter that the little beast was cured of whatever madness afflicted her, she had BITTEN you.
  437. >With her filthy peasant teeth.
  438. >You didn't care what Celestia said.
  439. >You didn't care that the Royal Guard heralded Anonymous as a hero.
  440. >The little brat had to pay.
  441. >So did Rarity.
  442. >So did Anonymous.
  443. >And you know just how they would do it.
  444. >You turn to your side, your horn glowing as you eye the only thing you could salvage from this disaster.
  445. >A little silver pendant, set with a massive ruby.
  446. >You idly spin it, staring into its many facets, and smile.
