  1. >”And with that, my dear, we shall put our story on hold for tonight” Your mom Celestia closed her big green book and placed it on top of your tea table.
  2. >There was nothing you enjoyed more than moments like this. You and your mom, having a nice and relaxing time together. The ambience she put was top notch too, a couple candles warmly illuminating your room.
  3. >You couldn’t help but to frown and bring the book back to her with your magic
  4. “But moooom! I want to hear the ending!”
  5. >Your mom Celestia giggled and with a warm smile, she tucked you in your bed and have you a kiss in your forehead “Trust me, if it was on me, I would tell you a thousand stories, each one better than the last… but sleep is important, especially for somepony of your age”
  6. “I knoooow! But can’t you make an exception? C’mon, it will be just for tonight”
  7. >Your mom let out a sigh and after lighting another candle… the fifth one actually, she playfully raised an eyebrow at you “Really? So, are you telling me that, if I finish the story tonight, then you won’t complain in the future?”
  8. “Uhhh…”
  9.
  10. >”Gotcha” Your mom Celestia rolled her eyes and giggled “Seriously though, I’m only doing it because this is a very important story… and because you are very cute when you get flustered… but mostly because the tale of how our beloved Queen Chrysalis took Equestria may very well be the biggest event in history”
  11. “Yeah! I mean, wasn’t awesome when she… wait…”
  12. >What was that? Did your mom just say…?
  13. “Queen… Chrysalis?”
  14. >”Mhm!” Your mom Celestia gently nodded as she handled the opened book to you “I actually got an idea, why don’t you read the story for me? We’re at the climax, when our brave and bold Queen Chrysalis bypassed Canterlot’s defenses, destroying the traitor and taking over Equestria in one mighty swift”
  15. >You looked down at the book… there were was something written in it but… you couldn’t tell what it was… everything in it was moving, changing, shifting…
  16. “I… mom?”
  17.
  18. >”What’s the matter Anon? Don’t you want to finish the story?” Your…mom? Was holding a big smile… it certainly looked warm but the usual feeling was simply not there… something was wrong, very wrong.
  19. >You could see the moon through the window. It was beautiful to say the least. Your mom Luna must have been inspired tonight. The moon was big enough to illuminate the entire room.
  20. >Wait… your room was being illuminated by the moonlight? What happened to the candles? What… what candles?
  21. >This wasn’t your room. It looked like it but… Where were you? Was the moon THIS big before? Why… is it getting bigger?
  22. >You looked at the pony in front of you. You thought that she looked like your mother, but now that she was under the pale moonlight… she looked different, like it was somepony in a costume rather than your mom
  23. >Whatever that thing was, it rolled her eyes and with pure anger said ”Oh for Pete’s sake!”
  24. >You were awaken by Chrysalis’ monstrous voice. Yeah, your assumptions were right. You weren’t in your room and your mother wasn’t with you.
  25.
  26. >No, you were inside the throne room of the changeling hive… which, yeah, it looked like a hive alright, except that this one was built with rocks and goo, including that stupid giant throne at the far end of the room.
  27. >At this point, analyzing the environment was all you could do. After all, considering that you were covered in their disgusting green goo, grasping for air and thanks to that throne room, without your magic, there really wasn’t much room for action.
  28. “Man… I hate*COUGH* I hate those cocoons”.
  29. >Chrysalis was walking around you, her face showed nothing but arrogance and contempt for you “I have to give it to you, little Anon. We have been going at this for an entire week and your mind still hasn’t succumbed to me. Congratulations, you have proved to be far more interesting than the rest of your pathetic kin.”
  30. >You rolled on your back and looked at the ceiling then at Chrysalis.
  31. “*COUGH* that sounds nice… do I… *COUGH* … win a prize or something?”
  32. >”Of course!” Chrysalis looked down at you and chuckled maliciously “You get to go back to the cocoon. How do you like that for a prize?”
  33. >You tried to get up but all your strength had left you… heavens, why were you so weak?
  34. “Geez… Your prizes suck… *COUGH*… as much as your breath”
  35.
  36. >”We’ll see if your petty sense of humor remains after the next treatment…” Chrysalis gave you an evil grin, allowing you to see her fangs “But first, what do you say if we check on the progress of your dear friends?”
  37. >If you could, you’d have jolted and shot a laser at Chrysalis but you were too weak to do anything other than trying to not sound terrified.
  38. “Oh c’mon! You did… the same last… *COUGH* time! Why do you… continue doing it?!”
  39. >”Because, my little Anon” Chrysalis gently caressed your mane “While it may not be as nutritious as the incredibly big amount of love that you have, your despair is equally as tasty for me.”
  40. >You felt tears running down your face. Tears that didn’t stop no matter how hard you shut your eyes. You took a grasp of air and yelled at Chrysalis as hard as you could.
  41. “Screw… you!”
  42. >”Children!” Chrysalis addressed the other changelings who were looking everything from the massive holes in the walls “Have you managed to establish contact with our slaves in Canterlot?”
  43. >”My Queen!” A changeling with purple eyes and red fin quickly flew into the throne room. Then, he actually bowed and saluted Chrysalis “Everything is ready. The call will start as soon as you give the command!”
  44. >”Good!” Chrysalis eyed at you with a triumphant look “Then you may proceed, Captain Pharynx”.
  45.
  46. >”As you wish, your majesty” The changeling profusely bowed at Chrysalis and then, he placed three odd-looking stones in the ground.
  47. >A pale purple gas started to emanate from the stones, quickly forming a sphere that in turn, displayed what you could only describe as a live broadcast… one that never failed to make your heart sink into a deep abyss of misery.
  48. >You always wanted to look away to avoid the pain, but the truth is that you simply couldn’t. As horrible as it was, you had to accept the truth that Eris, Twilight and Starlight were under Chrysalis’ command and that there was nothing you could do to help them.
  49. >The three of them were in a dark room illuminated by a couple candles. All of them had that horrible green fluorescence in their now soulless eyes.
  50. >Despite the lack of light, you could tell that Eris was wearing a weird looking medallion. It had to be something that Chrysalis gave to her, your big sister would never wear something that distasteful.
  51. >Not only this sight pained you to no end, it also filled you with pure and absolute frustration.
  52. >Frustration at your weakness and your own stupidity. It frustrated you that you never realized you were fooled from the get go.
  53.
  54. >Starlight was being controlled by the changelings since before you rescued her from that prison. It was Chrysalis’ plan for Twilight to “rescue” her. The fact that you acted sooner only helped to delay her plan for a couple days.
  55. >Twilight’s nature as the Princess of Friendship was her biggest strength… but also her bigger weakness. It wasn’t hard for Starlight to lure Twilight into Chrysalis’ trap by abusing the trust that the princess had on her and it also wasn’t hard for that monster to take over Twilight’s mind.
  56. >It was thank to Twilight that Chrysalis learned about Eris’ hobby of seducing stallions and formulating a plan to take over that weakness. The right disguise and the right words, that’s all what it took to bring down one of the most powerful beings in Equestria.
  57. >That’s when she learned about your plan, that’s how Chrysalis knew you were going to sneak into Blueblood’s house, that’s how that monster beat you to the punch… by using your loved ones against you.
  58. >How did you know so much? Chrysalis told you everything, all in painful detail, just so you could suffer and despair at your own obliviousness.
  59.
  60. >”Long live Queen Chrysalis!” Your three friends saluted the monster, speaking with a robotic tone.
  61. >Chrysalis glanced at you one more time before addressing your brainwashed friends “It has been a week since I took the Princesses’ only son. I had expect a revolt by this point, but instead Equestria has remained awfully quiet. So tell me, my dear slaves, what is exactly Celestia planning?”
  62. >The first one to speak was Twilight “I’m afraid we do not know, my Queen. Princess Celestia and Princess Luna are keeping Canterlot Castle under a strict lock-down. Nopony except for the Royal and Night Guard have permission to enter. Everypony else has been promptly evacuated.”
  63. >”Did you expect them to throw a big party? Of course they have raised the security, you brainless idiot!” Chrysalis barked “That’s the reason why I made Discord’s daughter my slave! Use her powers to sneak into the castle!”
  64. >Twilight bowed to Chrysalis before replying “Pardon me, your majesty, but we have already tried that”
  65. >”Aaaaand?!” Chrysalis asked
  66. >This time, it was Eris who answered “The Princesses found a way to prevent me to get in. No matter how much I try, my powers simply won’t work around the castle. I’m sorry, my Queen. I have failed you”
  67. >”Even with my brilliant guidance, you are still an idiot! Ugh…!”Chrysalis rolled her eyes and let out a sigh “Have you at least been able to pin-point the location of the traitor?”
  68.
  69. >Starlight bowed to her and answered “I’m afraid we have not. The same spell that the Princesses are using to prevent Eris from entering to the castle is also preventing us from finding out Thorax and your captured children’s location.”
  70. >Chrysalis flew to her throne, combed her mane with her hoof and then dismissed the friends you failed to “I am not happy with these results. Not even a little. Keep investigating, I know that Celestia is planning something big and I want to know exactly what it is”.
  71. >”Yes, your majesty!” The three of them eagerly said as they saluted Chrysalis
  72. >”Before you go, remember, you have to keep a low profile to not raise suspicion on you. More importantly. Eris, I know that your brain do not work very well but…” Chrysalis leaned forward and pointed at the medallion that Eris was wearing “Under any circumstance do not lose sight on that medallion, in fact, you have to protect it with your own lives. If Celestia gets her disgusting hooves on it then nothing will save us from becoming a big pile of ashes”
  73. >Twilight saluted the monster and nodded ”We will protect the medallion and the hive with our lives. Your humble servants, out” that was the last thing they said before the sphere banished into nothingness.
  74. >These meetings always drained you more than anything that Chrysalis could do. They always made you feel like absolute garbage… and Chrysalis sure loved to rub your failure in your face.
  75. >”Did you hear that, little Anon? They called me Queen, majesty, they referred themselves as my humble servants” Chrysalis cackled “How does that make you feel, mmm? Oh wait, you don’t need to tell me, I can already taste your self-pity and let me tell you, it’s delicious!”
  76. >You didn’t say anything, she was right. Your friends… your sister… they were her puppets now and you couldn’t do anything but to stare at that horrible ceiling.
  77.
  78. >”Awww!” Chrysalis flew to you and gently caressed your cheek “There’s no need to continue your suffering. You know very well that there is a way out.”
  79. >While still lying on the ground, you glared at Chrysalis and then rolled your eyes.
  80. “Surrender to me and be my faithful subject, blah, blah, blah! We have been through this already and the answer will always be the same: Go hug a cactus!”
  81. >“Your resistance is futile, little Anon.” Chrysalis caressed your cheek one last time before slamming your head “You can joke around all you want, but we both that it is only a matter of time until you become mine, just like your pathetic friends”
  82. “And it’s only a matter of time for you to get your flank burned. Give it up, Chrysalis. I’ll never join you”
  83. >”True” Chrysalis nodded as she started to walk around you “Your mind has proven to be far stronger than almost any creature I have encountered… but can you say the same about, what was her name? Oh, that’s right! Cherrywood!”
  84. “W-WHAT?!”
  85.
  86. >”You really didn’t think that I wouldn’t find out about your little special somepony, right?!” Chrysalis cackled “The daughter of the Night Guard general. I’m fairly sure that she will be a great addition to my hive, not to say how easy of a target she would be!“
  87. “STAY AWAY FROM CHERRYWOOD! IF YOU TOUCH HER I WILL-“
  88. >”You will do, what, exactly?” Chrysalis grinned at you “Did you forget that you are in my domain now? There’s nothing that you can do to protect the ones you love, nothing at all! Unless… you give me what I want”
  89. >You started to hyperventilate. Your mind had become a blur of rapid thoughts, all of them leading to a worst case scenario, all of them spelling out in big letters that you had lost.
  90. >Chrysalis cackled again “Think about your decision, little Anon! In the meantime, what do you say if we try the cocoon again?" She then turned to the other changelings “My children! Prepare…” Chrysalis tapped her chin as she looked at you “Nah, let’s do this the old way”
  91. >The monster raised her hoof and with one quick blow, made everything to go dark for you again.
