  1. >Team RNJR arrives at the nearest Dust-Mart
  2. >The bad weather made them rethink their whole camping plans
  3. >They needed better tents since Ruby's got destroyed
  4. >And Pyrrha's was broken before the storm even arrived...
  5. >Nora dragged Ren off to find snacks
  6. >Jaune, Pyrrha and Ruby were left to decide on what tent to buy
  7. >Jaune led the way to the camping section of the store while Pyrrha was looming over him
  8. >Ruby was following them at a decent distance
  9. >There were plenty of tents that could fit one person
  10. >A certain tent caught Pyrrha's eye
  11. >"How about this one?"
  12. >Ruby turned away from the small tents to see a much larger one
  13. >It looked like it could easily fit 6 people
  14. >"Please no" Ruby whispered to herself
  15. >Lucky for her, Jaune seemed unsure about the big tent
  16. >"Its probably expensive Pyrrha.. Are you sure?"
  17. >"Nonsense! Its big enough for all three of us and its 50% off"
  18. >"Well when you put it that way..."
  19. >Ruby gulped
  20. >Jaune and Pyrrha hauled the large tent bag to the front of the store to checkout
  21. >Ruby walked out the front of the store to wait with Ren and Nora
  22. >Nora was bouncing up and down with varying boxes of snacks
  23. >Ren has just bought some ingredients for tea
  24. >It was almost nightfall
  25. >Ruby was still trying to think of a plan to survive the night and anything that could go wrong
  26. >She had only a few hours
  27. >It was time for camp
  28. >Pyrrha insisted that she set up the new tent
  29. >Ren and Nora set up their two tents beside each other
  30. >Jaune went off to get firewood with Ruby
  31. >Pyrrha seemed to have no issue with this before they left
  32. >As the duo gathered firewood, Ruby couldn't shake the feeling that she was going to be bushwhacked the moment Jaune turned his back
  33. >Pyrrha never showed up
  34. >The two got back to the campsite
  35. >The other 3 were just sitting about
  36. >Pyrrha was happy to see Jaune back
  37. >Ruby had noticed that all her belongings were missing along with Jaune and Pyrrhas
  38. >She was hoped Pyrrha didn't "accidentally" drop them into the lake
  39. >Pyrrha broke the silence
  40. >"I set the tent up"
  41. >Ren and Nora remained on their log while the trio walked into the tent
  42. >All of Ruby's belongings were neatly unpacked on the far side of the tent
  43. >Pyrrha and Jaune's stuff was mixed at the on the opposite side
  44. >Their sleeping bags were so close that they were touching
  45. >Ruby was relieved that she didn't have to sleep so close to Pyrrha
  46. >Pyrrha also liked the idea
  47. >Jaune didn't question any of it
  48. >Ruby went to look over her stuff to make sure her weapon wasn't severely jammed
  49. >"Very nice job Pyrrha, you unpacked everything too!" Jaune said before walking out of the tent
  50. >"Thank you Jaune, I like to make sure we are well taken care of"
  51. >Ruby sneered at Pyrrha's comment
  52. >Ren and Nora had started a fire
  53. >It was already dark
  54. >Ruby had decided to look around inside the tent some more
  55. >Have to make sure there wasn't anything that could cause a freak accident and end up with her falling onto Jaune or any of his stuff
  56. >Her hazard search was cut short of Jaune's voice
  57. >"Dinner is ready!"
  58. >Jaune made more soup like last time
  59. >Pyrrha was taking her time enjoying it
  60. >She could REALLY tell Pyrrha was enjoying it
  61. >Ren and Nora were the first to finish
  62. >The soup was a lot better than last time
  63. >Good enough to pull Ruby from her thoughts
  64. >"This is really good Jaune!"
  65. >Pyrrha's trance was broke
  66. >"Jaune, your soup is honestly the best I have ever had. You're an amazing cook!"
  67. >Pyrrha's compliment was spoken the instant Ruby finished hers
  68. >"Thanks Pyrrha" Jaune responded with a smile
  69. >Pyrrha eagerly returned the smile
  70. >Ruby sighed
  71. >Nora and Ren had left the fire to go to bed
  72. >Pyrrha had managed to slowly scoot herself right up against Jaune without him noticing
  73. >Ruby decided that she should go to bed to give Pyrrha time with Jaune
  74. >Ruby crawled under the covers on her side of the tent
  75. >Pyrrha had set everything up pretty well
  76. >She was surprised she didn't mess with any of her stuff
  77. >Maybe she was just being paranoid
  78. >She heard the entrance of the tent unzip as Jaune and Pyrrha walked in
  79. >Ruby was facing away from the two
  80. >She heard a sleeping back rustling and Jaune exhaling
  81. >Out of the corner of her eye she could barely make out Pyrrha
  82. >She was standing in the middle of the tent with her eyes locked right onto Ruby
  83. >Making sure she was passed out no doubt
  84. >Pyrrha turned to get into her sleeping bag next to Jaune
  85. >She muttered something about being cold
  86. >About 10 minutes later Ruby rolled over
  87. >Their sleeping bags were unzipped to act like blankets and they were sleeping together
  88. >Pyrrha had Jaune completely locked up in her limbs
  89. >Ruby passed out
  90. >She woke up and looked around for her water bottle
  91. >She must have left it out by the fire pit
  92. >It was still night by the looks of it
  93. >The inside of the tent was an inky black
  94. >She crept out of her sleeping bag and began to slowly through the shroud
  95. >'Good thing I made sure the floor was clear' she thought to herself
  96. >She bumped into something very sturdy and jumped back
  97. >She tried to focus at what she walked into
  98. >Whatever it was, it gave absolutely no ground when she bumped into it
  99. >It also blended into the darkness rather well
  100. >As her eyes scanned higher up she could notice a faint shade of red
  101. >And two faint green specs
  102. >'Of course'
  103. >"I-I was just going to get some water from outside" She said as she tried to walk past
  104. >Pyrrha's hand firmly stopped her
  105. >Pyrrha's other hand held up a full cup of water
  106. >"Umm thank you.."
  107. >Pyrrha hadn't moved an inch
  108. >Was she wearing armor?
  109. >Ruby started to drink the water as her eyes adjusted to the darkness
  110. >Yup, she was wearing armor
  111. >Her weapons were no where to be seen luckily
  112. >Or it could be the opposite of lucky
  113. >Whether on purpose or not she happened to be completely blocking Jaune from view
  114. >Ruby finished her water "T-thanks, I'm going back to bed now" she said as she awkwardly pointed to her sleeping bag
  115. >Pyrrha's eyes didn't move at all
  116. >'Right, that's not creepy'
  117. >Ruby crawled back into her sleeping bag
  118. >Pyrrha stood over her for a moment before walking back over to her bed with Jaune
  119. >Ruby opened her eyes to see the duo locked up together once again
  120. >How Jaune could stay passed out while Pyrrha grappled him was unbelievable
  121. >Things seemed to be going much better that Ruby had expected
  122. >Maybe sharing a tent wasn't so bad
  123. >Then it happened
  124. >Ruby's scroll beeped
  125. >Her arms flew out of the sleeping bag and yanked the scroll in
  126. >She frantically hit buttons to turn the sound off
  127. >Pyrrha began to slowly rise
  128. >After opening up the web browser twice, Ruby made it stop
  129. >It was a message from Pyrrha
  130. >From four hours ago...
  131. >She only received it now
  132. >Ruby squinted as she tried to read it
  133. >The sudden light was hard on the eyes
  134. >"Ruby. Make sure you disable your ringer. -Pyrrha"
  135. >The scroll slightly shifted
  136. >Ruby tapped the power button to shut the light off
  137. >The scroll jerked upwards and hit her right in the nose
  138. >Ruby curled up and buried her face into the blanket
  139. >And it was going so well too..
