  1. May 05 18:25:48 <Cezar> Zola sat out in the courtyard, trying to eat a chicken salad sandwich. It tasted... /very/ weird to her. Zola was an attractive dark-skinned lady who wore a loose-fitting casual shirt and tight pants with sandals. She looked at her phone as she ate. The girl seemed to be... almost supernaturally beautiful. Even though, that beauty came with a very dark
  2. May 05 18:25:49 <Cezar> purpose.
  3. May 05 18:30:45 <Knave> But for three things, a passerby might be given to believe that a decorative grotesque had been added to the roof of the second shrine. First, the figure was a grey-blue stone, granite-like, and as such entirely incongruous with the shrine's metal composition. Second, a wispy blonde ponytail on the figure's head fits even less with the shrine's design, and you couldn't imagine including it as part of the
  4. May 05 18:30:45 <Knave> grotesque's design. Thirdly, the figure's glowing amber eyes were definitely and unblinkingly watching the girl in the courtyard eating her sandwich.
  5. May 05 18:37:37 <Cezar> Zola didn't notice, as she was too invested in her chicken salad sandwich and whatever was on her phone to notice. She bobbed her head as if listening to music, for some reason. She swiped through a couple of things before looking at something. She clicks it and something plays on her phone. It sounds like African tribal music... bit more modern. One might
  6. May 05 18:37:38 <Cezar> not be able to hear it all that well from this distance.
  7. May 05 18:42:59 <Knave> After a short while the statue drops heavily from the roof into the dirt, landing on all fours. It takes its time fetching a bag left at the bottom of the entryway and retrieving a cloak from it, putting it on, shrouding itself entirely in the thick brown material. This cloaked figure then approaches Zola's bench and intones with a high, gravelly voice "Enjoying that?"
  8. May 05 18:46:13 <Cezar> Zola only hears the voice and immediately jumps, dropping her phone on the bench and sending out a discharge of electricity. Now that the distance has been cut down, one might hear the music more clearly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lhK1qTrPAM Zola looks over at the figure and stands.

  10. May 05 18:47:51 <Knave> The figure, a brown, shapeless cloak now, just stands watching her, a soft amber glow touching the fringes of the oversized hood. Entirely still.
  11. May 05 18:48:49 <Cezar> She spoke with a heavy African accent of some kind, "Hello... er... yedo, I was... enjoying sandwich." she said, "Sorry for scare. I did not expect people behind."
  12. May 05 18:50:49 <Knave> "'S all-right." The hooded figure's own accent, under the odd hint of grinding stone, is a confusion of East Coast and lingering English.
  13. May 05 18:55:21 <Cezar> She holds out a hand to her, "Zola." She smiled at her.
  14. May 05 18:56:34 <Knave> "Gloria." Her right hand rises in the robe to chest height, then she hesitates before the clawed, stone hand emerges from the sleeve and stays hanging in the air.
  15. May 05 18:57:17 <Cezar> Zola didn't give two shits, she just shook her hand if she let her, "Good to meet you, then."
  16. May 05 18:58:15 <Knave> "Yeah." The hand drops back down and the sleeve falls to cover it and she's an unmoving statue again, "Where you from?"
  17. May 05 18:59:32 <Cezar> "South Africa." She told her, "In KwaZulu-Natal."
  18. May 05 19:39:41 <Knave> "Hnh." Gloria answers with a slight nod.
  19. May 05 19:40:14 <Cezar> "Is something matter?" She asked.
  20. May 05 19:41:33 <Knave> "I'm fine." Comes the scratchy answer.
  21. May 05 19:43:39 <Cezar> "Where are you from?"
  22. May 05 19:46:51 <Knave> "England. Pennsylvania." Gloria says, the hood moving to look off to one side.
  23. May 05 19:51:36 <Cezar> "Why are you wearing robe?" She asked.
  24. May 05 19:52:34 <Knave> The hood turns back to Zola and subtly nods up and down as the eyes inside take her in. "We're not all pretty."
  25. May 05 19:53:09 <Cezar> "I do not mind. I do not care about looks." She informed her, smiling.
  26. May 05 19:55:06 <Knave> "I have a hell of a look." Gloria assures her, the bitter sardonic tone masking what might be a hint of pride.
  27. May 05 19:56:40 <Cezar> "I do not care." Zola said, "I do not measure by look. I have seen far worse." She really has. Has even caused far worse.
  28. May 05 19:59:56 <Knave> "Fine." Gloria removes the hood and unveils the twisted stone visage with its permanent, fanged scowl, and locks eyes with Zola.

  34. May 05 20:02:04 <Knave> Despite the initial shock of the supernatural disfigurement, Zola does not find herself unable to move because of it.
  35. May 05 20:03:47 <Cezar> Zola tilts her head, "You are not bad." She said, "You are like normal person. I have seen... done... worse."
  36. May 05 20:04:40 <Knave> "Unhuh." Gloria's stone face is unsurprisingly unmoving, but her tone is dismissive.
  37. May 05 20:05:52 <Cezar> "You do not believe me?"
  38. May 05 20:07:04 <Knave> "Not normal." She answers, stating the obvious.
  39. May 05 20:08:12 <Cezar> "Me?"
  40. May 05 20:09:00 <Knave> "Me." Gloria's gaze stays on Zola's face, "I'm not like a normal person."
  41. May 05 20:09:19 <Cezar> "Well. I am not either. I am not person at all, actually."
  42. May 05 20:11:49 <Knave> "Hrn." Gloria nods almost imperceptibly.
  43. May 05 20:12:27 <Cezar> "I am actually bird. Ishologu. Lightining bird. I am made for killing."
  44. May 05 20:13:15 <Knave> "Huhn." Gloria pauses on this for a moment, then, "I like birds."
  45. May 05 20:14:08 <Cezar> Zola smiled at her. "Then we can be friends!"
  46. May 05 20:15:06 <Knave> Gloria responds to this with several seconds of silence, then, "Sure."
  47. May 05 20:16:44 <Cezar> She lit up, "Great! then we can be friends!!!" She hugged Gloria, practically picking her up.
  48. May 05 20:17:43 <Knave> Quite a feat, with the girl being made of stone. Gloria herself offers no resistance and doesn't move in reaction.
  49. May 05 20:20:09 <Cezar> It wouldn't have been all that difficult. Zola was built and could handle a bit of weight.
  50. May 05 20:22:50 <Knave> "Well." Gloria says, stepping back slightly.
  51. May 05 20:23:12 <Cezar> "Hm?" She smiled brightly
  52. May 05 20:24:00 <Knave> "Suppose I'll leave you to it." Gloria says like a sewer clearing its throat, taking a more definite step away.
  53. May 05 20:24:35 <Cezar> "Okay! Goodbye, friend!" She waved, "I see you another time!"
  54. May 05 20:25:18 <Knave> "Yeah." Gloria pulls up her head and walks off towards the nearest building.
