- Updated: April 27, 2017.
- THIS LIST IS FOR NORTH AMERICAN TERA.
- FOR REGIONS WITH DIFFERENT GLYPHS (KR/JP/CN/TW) AND/OR CRYSTALS (CN/TW), THIS IS SLIGHTLY INACCURATE AND YOU'D HAVE TO ADJUST FOR THEM.
- *BoP - Bound on Pickup (soulbound)
- *BoE - Bound on Equip (Bankable, Tradeable, Brokerable [as long as it says])
- DO NOT USE ITEM LEVEL AS A GUIDELINE, USE THE ACTUAL STATS ON THE EQUIPMENT.
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- GEAR TIERS - PvE for PvE, PvP for PvP. Don't use PvP weapons for PvE. Ever. Don't. Do. It. If you're a Priest or Mystic it's acceptable due to having the same stats on top for the most part, every other class isn't. You lose three to four (3 to 4) stat lines. That completely mitigates the Attack Modifier you get as a bonus.
- NOTE: EVERY SINGLE PIECE OF GEAR IN THIS LIST CAN DO *A L L* OF THE PVE CONTENT THIS PATCH.
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Top
- Ambush/Behemoth (VM8/8.5) - DPS + Tanks: Damage rolls on 13-15 13-15 | Healers access to x3 CDR.| PvP + PvE Weapon/Armor.

- BRAWLER PATCH CRYSTALS
- Vyrsks
- Tank - Carving
- DPS - Carving
- Healer - Swift or Grounding
- Niveots/Dyads
- Tank - Pounding/Focused/Wrathful/Carving
- Undergeared/Fresh Tank - Threatening/Focused/Wrathful/Carving
- NOTE: Aggro generation was changed, so tanks can go more DPS-oriented. Carving is a more stat-effective crystal from the front
- than the back, so that's why I suggest it over Pounding x2. However if you have a Mystic or Priest + Mystic setup use it.
- Melee DPS - Pounding/Focused/Bitter/Savage
- Ranged DPS - Pounding/Focused/Spiteful/Savage
- Healer - Standard: Brilliant x3/Swift | Alternative: Brilliant x2/Swift/Carving
- PRE-BRAWLER PATCH
- **Note 5/31/15: A recent patch changed damage calculations, updated crystals to show.
- Vyrsks (For PvP use PvP Cruxes. If doing corsair's and you're not a healer, use Carving. If open-world or FWC use Carving.)

- OPTIMAL MINIMUM CRITICAL HIT RATE
- -------------------------------------------------
- EVERY DPS class wants at LEAST close to or at 200 critical hit rate as possible PRIOR to glyphs. Reaper "can" sit at around 180-190 due to every main skill having crit chance, or crit rate. Arcane Engineer can use less crit rate for the same reason (140~), due to passive crit chance and great glyphing. Valkyrie only needs around 100/110 minimum for optimal play. With mystic you can unglyph glaive strike crit chance due to being around 160~
- Note: Going over 200 (pre-glyphs) is fine, and usually happens due to power spike of gear, but don't naturally have 280-300 crit rate prior to glyphs/food/buffs due to high diminishing return.
- **Critical CHANCE is added on your OVERALL Critical% after all calculations.
- EX: You have an overall 20% critical on a skill. x2 Crit chance would push it to 40%.
- **The only true Critical CHANCE is glyphs, and Carving Crystal, Vyrsk/Zyrks are RATE. Accessories are RATE. Armor + weapon rolls are RATE. Mystic aura is RATE.
- Base Crit Rates
- Archer - 40 (60 after rework)
- Arcane Engineer - 47

- Minimum Additional Crit Rate for 200
- Archer - 160 (140 after rework)
- Arcane Engineer - 153
- Berserker - 142
- Lancer/Brawler - 150 (Note: Since Lancer/Brawler attacks from the front, you'll need about 20-30 more crit rate)
- Reaper - 148
- Slayer - 144
- Sorcerer - 168
- Warrior - 148

- DPS Tiers (now with DPS Meter) - PvE
- Note: Classes are more player skill than anything-- Always has, always will. aka a Berserker can still be beaten by an Archer if they're an unskilled player. <<<< Please understand.
- Note: Classes are more player skill than anything-- Always has, always will. aka a Berserker can still be beaten by an Archer if they're an unskilled player. <<<< Read this and understand it. Play what you ENJOY, not what is "meta".
- Note: PLAY WHAT IS COMFORTABLE AND FUN FOR YOU AND YOU WILL PERFORM AT A HIGH LEVEL THERE ARE NO DPS CHECKS A CLASS CAN DO AND NEVER WILL BE.
- All classes are within ~10% of each other
- Tiers are classes that are within 2~% of each other
- Due to constant power spikes the tier has changed due to pretty much everyone having the same overall crit rate minus a few skills (which is what pushes said class above others the longer a fight goes)
- Certain fights may have unsuitable mechanics for certain classes so some may stand out more than others in those cases due to easier optimal circumstances. Whether or not you agree what is listed below doesn't change game coding.
- ---------------------------------------------------
- CBA updating anymore, but pretty obvious every patch what's "top", just play what you want every class can reach 3 mil dp/s at the LEAST.
