An Ode To Mabon

Not widely known,<br>
Mabon is a time for reflection.<br>
The gentle Pagan holiday marks the fall Equinox,<br>
but with the large holiday of Samhain,<br>
or as most just call it Halloween<br>
just around the corner,<br>
this time of balance and harvest is merely overshadowed.<br>
<br>
Blocked from the moonlight that shines on Halloween,<br>
Blinded by the sunlight and joy of Midsummer,<br>
It is not a showy day,<br>
not in the least.<br>
But that is not all that Mabon is!<br>
<br>
It is the time for Harvest!<br>
The time to unwind and celebrate a good crop,<br>
To give thanks and make prepare for the next harvest!<br>
<br>
It can also be a time for sorrow on the same side,<br>
Be it from reflection, or even due to realizing something.<br>
This is a time of equality,<br>
The light and the dark are balanced once more,<br>
As the Vale weakens as Samhain approaches.<br>
<br>
With the changes in the world,<br>
and the changes in the mind,<br>
Mabon truly marks a magical time.
