Rinse, wash, repeat
Brush teeth, go to sleep
Eat, drink, again.
Sit down, watch TV.

Wife talks, ignored.
Sip drink; that feels good
Son's sulking, again.
Get up, go to work.

Turn keys, kuh-lick
Still there, still asleep.
Our toys, our tools
OUR SECRET IS OURS TO KEEP.

The night, our home
The shade, our domain
By day, A DEVIL.
AT NIGHT, AN ANGEL.

Our work burdens,
Our work is gory
Our work makes noise,
OUR WORK BRINGS JOY.

I close the shell,
and leave before it stirs.
My blue flannel is stained red, but I don't mind.
