Greetings Ashtan,

From within the strife and pain of mourning and loss of our recent engagement comes a new age. Last Scarlatan, we met within a city flying an obfuscated and often mistreated banner of Freedom. During that time, as the Overseer struck Accord with the Imperator and His Court, bringing forward the longheld beliefs and thoughts of many quiet citizens, and making them the path of our great city, we collectively shed the misty shroud of freedom and stepped forward as the Seat of Chaos!

For me, this was wondrous news. As the son of the Prophet, I was raised in the ways of the Occult and have long studied Chaos and the destruction it brings. It has long been my goal to disrupt the order of this realm, to tear apart the elements, to unravel the many stranded hems of Creation!

I know, however, that many of you are struggling with sudden direction and focus. Some have even personally voiced their dissent to me. Let me be clear, if you cannot, as a patriot of this city, support the new aim of our ranks toward Ascendance in power and glory, then it is time for you to leave. I say this not out of spite or ill will, but out of sincere concern for our Great City and its citizens. I also say this to make the difficult decisions lying ahead for some of you a bit easier. The one law that so many of us seekers of Chaos and Oblivion have always followed is "Do as you will." In short, if you can find yourself at ease and working together with the rest of us, I welcome you to stay,  but I would not ask you to stay against whatever closely held belief or morality (however ethereal) from which you would not part.

Where does that leave us? The Overseer and The Archon Ascendant, I am sure, will let us know where we stand and how to proceed. There have been personal discussions with some of you where you had no desire for military conquest or blind destruction. Please do not see Chaos so narrowly. After all, our own House of Occultists was one of the greatest centres for scholarship that our society has seen! There is much work to be done, and I know that at least a few of us who have long
sought the Eldritch Arts are preparing work for you. We are planning in order to smooth the transition for many professions and walks of life. I do not speak for everyone, but I see this as an incredible time to draw together and to focus our efforts for the glory of the North, the High Court, and its Imperator!
