  1. Adamantite is an incredibly rare mineral that's used for making nigh indestructible weapons and equipment - the fact that there was enough in Durandal to justify a mining operation big enough to base the whole city around is unprecedented.
  2.
  3. The material is difficult to work with because of its sheer imperviousness. Refining the ore into ingots is a process that takes powerful, high temperature blast furnaces, usually custom made for the job (but thinking on it, yours looks like it's capable of doing the same) and once that's done, shaping the material into a usable form is no easy task either. Because of the sheer difficulty, no equipment that results from Adamantite is ever less than Tier 7, and it's not unheard of for legendary relics to be made from the same metal in the hands of truly skilled artisans.
  4.
  5. That said, you know that Adamantite weaponry can pierce armors easily and grant incredible resilience against physical and debilitating attacks. Furthermore the metal is great for channeling magical energy into a a short distance, say, buffs into your allies. Tier 8 Component. Properties: Piercing, Stoic, Impervious, Auto-Protect, Party Effect. Furthermore anything made with this stuff is absolutely indestructible once it's hardened after the forging process.
  6.
  7. If you wanted to contaminate it... well, that's no easy task. You might could use its ability to channel powerful magic against it and unleash the Corruption Stone in the area, but there's no telling what kind of long term effects that may have on the citizenry of Durandal. Otherwise you're looking at truly Herculean geomancy to spoil the ore that's left.
