  1. [21:10] <Paradox> Anyway! Last time we left our heroes, they were getting ready to go to the Bramble Forest and rescue those kidnapped by the Firefoot Raiders.

  5. [21:12] <Paradox> The hour is up, and the lot of you set out. Ser Abelard's Elite Guard, The Light Company, Clan Redblade, Clan Blue Guard, and Clan White Chord. A few of the more stubborn villagers force themselves onto the expedition as well, with torches and pitchforks.

  7. [21:15] <Paradox> You in fact, will burn all the witches. The lot of you march for a good hour before the bramble forest comes in sight. You're at the top of a hill looking down; the bramble forest is really more or a large, dry-crevassed canyon which open up into the hills to the south next to the coast, overgrown with thick curling vines and trees.

  21. [21:20] <Paradox> "Alright explorers. Here we are. We outnumber them and are better equipped, but even though they're not native to the island I expect they're much more familiar with this forest than we are. Expect short and brutal attacks from the flanks, hits-and-runs probably."
  22. 06[21:21] * Brick is daydreaming
  23. [21:22] <Paradox> "We know there's six main paths. The smart thing of course, would be to stick together and check them out one by one, but the hostages may not have that much time. My troops and I will handle the two left-most paths, the Light company the next, then Aileen's Redblades, then Blue Guard, then White Chord. Let's try and do this as quickly as possible."
  24. [21:23] <Paradox> Abelar assembles his men, and starts moving out. The other clans quickly do the same.
  25. 06[21:23] * Dr_Floyd listens carefully. Sounds reasonable, although they didn't knew how many of the raiders are there. "If ve outnumber zem in group, separated ze seetuation changeths."
  26. [21:24] <Paradox> "Yeah, that seems pretty dumb. But it's still not like there was that many of them, right?"
  27. [21:24] <Paradox> Alcyone.
  28. 06[21:24] * Bokor takes out the machete and hands it to Brick, "in case we need it." He moves to the border of the woods.
  29. 06[21:24] * Brick SLAPs Floyd on the back "What are you scared doc?"
  30. [21:24] <Wyl> "We might outnumber them as a mob, but we're also far more likely to be spotted - and far less likely to find them - if we're a mob."
  31. [21:26] <Paradox> You talk as Alcyone leads you into the forest, and towards the path you're supposed to take. The forest is relatively dark, with what the canyon on both sides, and the thick thorny plants inside it are unpleasant. Thankfully there's enough room in the path that you're mostly able to avoid the bushes.
  32. [21:26] <Bokor> "well, one thing they didn't consider, is you guys have a shaman with you..."
  33. 01[21:26] <Dr_Floyd> "Ve are on unfamiliar terrain, Herr Brick..."
  34. 06[21:26] * Brick takes the machete follows Bokor, "Let em come by the millions, let them try and quench MY burning soul"

  36. [21:28] <Paradox> You proceed silently - well, as silently as any group can manage with Brick, which I guess it not very silently at all. More like loudly. In any case, you soon reach a clearing.

  38. 06[21:28] * Wyl keeps his eyes open at the front with Alcyone; he doesn't seem as unfamiliar with things as Floyd is - but that might just be that he's not letting on about it. Navigating things is part of his job.
