  1. <Darkling> The sun is shining through the air and onto the beach this cheerful morning. Some songbirds chirp away as the water laps at the sandy shore of the beach. Lit's standing in some swim trunks sipping a cup of coffee, looking out over the water as the unobstructed morning light warms him.
  2. <Darkling> How long had it been he though. Only two months since that fateful conflict? It seemed longer.
  3. <Rasia> Rasia splashes in the water, swatting at unfortunate crabs and leaping over waves as they come rushing in. As a breeze passes, she stops and faces it, a smile lighting up her face. Arms spread, she lets the wind push her over, splashing into the warm waters and taking off swimming.
  4. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja is inappropriately dressed. Which in this case translates to her wearing an overly elaborate dress on a beach. She's sitting on a beach chair with an umbrella shielding her from the sun, and she's busily scribbling away.
  5. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Wilhelm is dressed in some of his original, unaltered clothing. He was pale and cold to the touch, but he wasn't sweating like he used to. He watches Rasia with a smirk, hands in his pockets.
  6. <Darkling> Ivy is laying face down on a beach towel nearby Lahja, sound asleep.
  7. <Darkling> She's a tad more inappropriately dressed than Lahja, in the traditional sense, having mentioned something about not wanting tan lines.
  8. <Rasia> Emerging from the tide some minutes later, she stumbles to her feet, holding a fish the size of her arm. "Dinner!" She announces proudly, her one-piece doing what it can to smother her softening figure. Lord knows the girl will never get flabby, but without the need to hunt, fight, survive... Her talons can be pulled in, fangs held quiescent.
  9. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He claps lightly. "Well done, Rasia."
  10. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Not that Lahja is complaining. She turns her attentions from whatever she's scribbling to Rasia at the announcement, giving her a quick thumbs up. "That's amazing."
  11. <Darkling> Lit grins. Who only knows what that girl would do with everything left to her..
  12. <Rasia> Adding the fish to a cooler brought for her, she pauses to look at the other four, running a hand through her hair. She could live comfortably. Did now, really. And could anyone say she didn't earn it? That they all didn't? "Thirsty?" Since she is standing near the coolers, and all.
  13. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Sure, why not?" He walks to the cooler to join Rasia, hands out of his pockets. The white gloves covering them come off.
  14. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Give me something random. Anything. And can I make a lutefisk out of that fish? It doesn't look like a proper cod, but I could improvise..." Lahja asks hopefully. Nevermind the fact that the last lutefisk she made was an utter disaster or that it takes a week or longer to prepare that awful dish.
  15. <Darkling> Lit sips his coffee some more. "No thanks Rasia."
  16. <Rasia> Wilhelm, of course, gets a healthy dose of affection from his shark of a girl. Or maybe lamprey is the more appropriate term, when it came to him. Octopus? Regardless, she fetches cans of fruit soda, as many as she can hold.
  17. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He takes a few from her with an easy smile, cans frosting in his hands.
  18. <Rasia> Lahja and Ivy both get cans, before Rasia opens her own. "Family." A glance to the locket left on her towel, glinting in the sun. Custom made, that. A certain Valkyrie's portrait lay inside, smiling lovingly. "Strange family."
  19. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Normal is far too plain for the likes of us."
  20. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Thank you, Rasia. I wouldn't have it any other way. It just wouldn't be the same if any of you were gone. Or different." Lahja smiles. It's manic, but not particularly malicious. "Would you like an illustrated story of you and Wilhelm next? It's going to be an abortion, but I'm getting better at it."
  21. <Darkling> Ivy stirs realizing there's something going on and props herself up without exposing herself. "Thanks Rasia." She says half dozed.
  22. <Darkling> There's a huge boom and cracking noise off in the distance. At first those noises were so odd, and set everyone on edge. But now, after hearing them for so long, the sounds of the ice fields melting and falling apart was just another part of life.
  23. <Rasia> A tilt of the head, but Rasia doesn't object to the idea, Lahja. Ivy gets a brief smile, until her head snaps around to listen to the crackling ice. Perhaps the one thing that put her on-edge, even now. It was, after all, the single largest testament to the war. Or maybe that was the Aesir~
  24. <Lahja_Ilvainen> In contrast Lahja seems to find the sound rather soothing. She flashes Ivy a quick smile before closing her eyes. It's almost like a distant explosion. Or large bones snapping in half. "I'll make it something neat. You'll get to fight a bunch of zombies or something."
  25. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "They'll never stand a chance." The boy is taking off his clothing, blue lines peeking out as he strips.
  26. <Rasia> Rasia takes in an eyeful, running her nail down a line as she often did.
  27. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Of course not. You'll have eye lasers and Rasia will be able to breathe fire." Lahja returns to her scribbling afterward.
  28. <Rasia> As if Rasia would even need that much help. She puts her hands on her hips and stands arrogantly.
  29. <Darkling> A large splash in the water. Lit is off with a spear to see if he can outdo Rasia's last catch.
  30. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Better just let Rasia have all the fun." He stands in a pair of trunks, blue lines wrapping around his body, making what looks like a tree.
  31. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "If you say so. But it would still be nice to breathe fire. Just in case you wanted to cook something."
  32. <Rasia> A wiggle of her nose. That does sound appealing... No! Rasia's a human. A normal person, now. Totally normal. Outwardly, Rasia just looks lost in determined thought.
  33. <Wilhelm_Faustus> A kiss to her cheek and the Aryan is making his way into the water, shaking off the light bits of frost.
  34. <Rasia> "!" Rasia gives chase, tackling the pale boy into the surf.
  35. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Oof-! He may be stronger and tougher now, but he was still no match for Rasia. Not that he seemed to mind.
  36. <Darkling> Ivy rolls over looking up at Lahja. "And going to write any stories about moi?"
  37. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Those two are cute." Lahja remarks as she looks on. She turns her attentions to Ivy afterward. "That's what I'm doing now while you're slowly transforming into a lobster. Want to see what I've drawn so far?"
  38. <Rasia> Rasia finally lets her boy up for air, presuming he still needs it, picking frost off her skin.
  39. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Are you happy, Rasia?"
  40. <Rasia> A nod. "Happiest."
  41. <Darkling> She nods.
  42. <Wilhelm_Faustus> A passionate kiss for Rasia-- then he's making his escape! "If you want more you need to catch me!"
  43. <Rasia> The hunt begins again! But, of course, it isn't the same. It's the play between two lovers, and not even for a moment does Rasia feel that old heat of the predator. There's a wide smile on her face, and she's even letting Wilhelm gain a small lead now and then.
  44. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja shows the scribbling to Ivy, the paper having a series of drawings on it. They're recognizable at best, but still leave a lot to be desired. It involves a fight with water balloons where Ivy gets stuck to Lahja when they run into each other and Ivy freezes the water. And then hilarious and futile attempts at getting them unstuck.
  45. <Lahja_Ilvainen> There's still a morbid aspect in the form of Lahja's father's head regularly showing up mounted on the wall. It's defaced in a different way each time it shows up.
  46. <Darkling> "Very nice." She says. "I think maybe we'll have to act this out sometime soon. I wouldn't mind being stuck to you like that."
  47. <Wilhelm_Faustus> He eventually slows down, arms slowly held out to invite her usual tackle maneuver.
  48. <Rasia> And she happily embraces him, landing in the shallows. She could almost pass for normal like this. Perhaps a bit slow in the speech department, but...
  49. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "I agree. It would be fun." Lahja smiles rather widely. "Just as long as we can leave out Lit chasing us around with a blowtorch."
  50. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "I adore you. You know that, right?" He caresses her cheek, staring up at her. If there were other people in the dome, they were secondary.
  51. <Darkling> "I think we can leave out anyone else."
  52. <Darkling> Lit finally surfaces, two large looking fish and a blue lobster tied to his spear. He grins, holding up his catch for everyone to see before he tosses them into a cooler.
  53. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "... You're cute when you're greedy. Keep it up and I might just say something pretty for you." Lahja shifts her position, lying down on her side next to Ivy.
  54. <Rasia> Rasia doesn't purr or growl or nip his face. She kisses him, nodding into it.
  55. <Darkling> Ivy is quick enough to cover herself up with her top before Lit is close enough to see anything. "I'll keep that in mind."
  56. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Once he has some air, not that he needs it, he chuckles. "Yeah, I figured you felt the same way.
  57. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "
  58. <Rasia> The Israeli rises, gazing up and down the beach like a perched bird, waves breaking against her buttocks.
  59. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Generous of you, to let everyone live here."
  60. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "You should. Your smile might get too big for your face afterward." Lit and his catch get a brief salute. The blue lobster earns a double take.
  61. <Rasia> "Live with family. Live with Wilhelm."
  62. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Maybe one day, we can have more family."
  63. <Rasia> A quiet stare. She leans in close. "One day."
  64. <Darkling> Lit heads up to the deck, toweling himself off. It was still before noon and yet so warm.
  65. <Rasia> Wonderful weather, isn't it?
  66. <Darkling> Hel comes padding out from the house onto the deck giving a sniff to the air.
  67. <Rasia> >:3
  68. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Go get her." A nudge and a smirk.
  69. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja looks rather content, to the point of being dazed. The aesthetics of the place could use some work, but the family is all together here. Funny how some once-important ideas like dying together or in a pretty way aren't so high on the priority list when things are going so nicely. Sure, we're still sharing a coffin eventually, but no need to rush it along.
  70. <Rasia> Rasia goes for a run, closing in on the grown cat, but she remembers to slow to a playful jog before attacking her.
  71. <Darkling> Lit heads inside the house, disappearing from sight, likely to go find his wife.
  72. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Poor Hel. She'll have to evolve quickly to have a chance. Maybe one of these days she'll get lucky and find someone too. Then they can work on breeding supercats.
  73. <Wilhelm_Faustus> Wilhelm returns to his clothing near Ivy and Lahja, pulling on everything but his shirt.
  74. <Rasia> Rasia, mindful of Hel's paws, doesn't let the cat touch the sand, instead having her clamber and roll along the Israeli's body while they play.
  75. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "It's amazing that something so good could come out of that ordeal, isn't it?" Lahja looks toward Wilhelm. "I actually don't miss piloting. Do you?"
  76. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "I miss Loki."
  77. <Darkling> "I don't. It wasn't fun being a test subject."
  78. <Rasia> Whumpf. Rasia and Hel land near the wonder Aryan. She frowns at him.
  79. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "It's like missing a part of myself, Loki and I are still one, where ever it is." He kneels down, running his fingers through Rasia's hair. "But I'm happy right here."
  80. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja sends a peculiar look at Wilhelm, seeming genuinely sorry at that. Seems she's actually managed to hone that empathy thing she was working on. Not that the look lasts long, but at least it's just getting drowned out by being so happy. "I'm glad all the secrets and manipulation are gone. And that I can work on being known for something other than being a good shot."
  81. <Rasia> "Yes." Rasia lets Hel wander to the Aryan as she speaks. "Not weapons. Not pilots. No secrets. Family. People...in...a family."
  82. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "The best family I've had." Though a part of him did miss Freyja.
  83. <Rasia> Even Rasia, in some sick fashion, misses her father and brother. Guess they'll never be completely fixed.
  84. <Darkling> Lit comes back out onto the deck, his new wife Danika clinging to his arm.
  85. <Rasia> Rasia nuzzles her Aryan, prompted by the sight.
  86. <Lahja_Ilvainen> But not Lahja. Sure, it all sucked at the time, but the training was crucial to make it through all this. He served his purpose and we're all better for it. "You're all great."
  87. <Rasia> A grin. "Grow up. Lazy forever."
  88. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Obviously, given my superior DNA."
  89. <Wilhelm_Faustus> A kiss to Rasia's forehead. "Not too lazy, I've come to enjoy having you chase me."
  90. <Rasia> A prod to her stomach. "Lazy makes fat...chase exercise."
  91. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Forever." Lahja echoes and nods in agreement despite briefly wondering if such a thing were possible. The thought is quickly banished before it goes anywhere unpleasant. Relatively speaking.
  92. <Rasia> Rasia wiggles her toes in the sand, calling to Lit and Danika. "Make baby?"
  93. <Darkling> Lit and Danika make their way over to the bunch. "Enjoying the morning so far?" Lit asks.
  94. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "As usual, s..." Lahja stops herself. Was calling him sir still necessary? Despite earlier apprehensions Lit turned out to be a decent guy. Maybe not a father figure, but definitely family.
  95. <Rasia> "Yes. Happiest." Rasia reiterates, watching the pair intently.
  96. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "It's...a very good day." Hands squish Rasia's cheeks together.
  97. <Rasia> Her face puckers appropriately.
  98. <Wilhelm_Faustus> A peck to her puckered lips.
  99. <Rasia> "Fishkiss?"
  100. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "That would be more like this." The Aryan, ever the serious bastard, sucks his cheeks in until his lips are puckering too, pressing them to Rasia's.
  101. <Rasia> Rasia nods, blinking a few times. "Okay."
  102. <Lahja_Ilvainen> A light round of applause and cheering from Lahja.
  103. <Rasia> Her eyes wander back towards Lit and wife.
  104. <Darkling> Danika settles on a lounge chair in the sand with a icy drink.
  105. <Darkling> "I think I'll start up the grill, get some of those fish on for lunch." Lit heads over to the cooler, picking it up and carrying it to the deck.
  106. <Rasia> Rasia licks her chops unconsciously, still wrestling with that bottomless stomach of hers.
  107. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "Does anyone know if a blue lobster tastes any different from a red one?"
  108. <Rasia> Rasia boggles at Lahja. "All lobster blue. Fire make red lobster."
  109. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Can't argue with that logic. Lahja gives a lazy salute.
  110. <Darkling> The grill flares up, flames leaping up.
  111. <Darkling> After a few moments the cleaned fish are on the grill.
  112. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "It's getting a little warm here, don't you think?" Lahja says in a high pitched voice, talking to her food before it's even ready to be eaten. "I didn't notice. I was too busy wondering why all these people were staring at us."
  113. <Rasia> Rasia narrows her eyes, considering chastising Lahja for her slip back into being sick.
  114. <Lahja_Ilvainen> Lahja smiles and makes a peace sign in response.
  115. <Rasia> A blink. Rasia copies the gesture. "Horns?"
  116. <Wilhelm_Faustus> "Not quite." The boy pulls his shirt on, then rolls up the sleeves.
  117. <Lahja_Ilvainen> "It could be, if you think horns are peaceful. I guess they might be peaceful if someone cooked a cow for you as a present."
  118. <Darkling> ============END============
