  32. <guest_19> check the specifications. http://www.flipkart.com/d-link-dsl-2750u-wireless-n-adsl2-4-port-wi-fi-router/p/itmd4ky52tgtbawn?pid=RTRD4KY4UNGYCZFG&cmpid=content_router_8965229628_gmc_pla&tgi=sem,1,G,11214002,g,search,,25683448820,1o2,,,c,,,,,,,&gclid=Cj0KEQjw06GfBRCR9tDI4t6n5_MBEiQAFo6kuMjREd2iX33DoZ18hPFHKeGQC36IQ5cOFgedJZKKCw0aAqvg8P8HAQ
  33. <guest_19> this is the clear picture http://www.google.co.in/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&docid=2wNpxcBLNgBFjM&tbnid=vEdLVPD347PlVM:&ved=0CAUQjRw&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com.au%2Fitm%2FD-Link-DSL-2750B-Wireless-N-300-ADSL2-Modem-Router-USB-Ethernet-WIFI-PC-LAN-%2F261237415948&ei=ZjTpU7OELYTk8AW724L4CA&bvm=bv.72676100,d.dGc&psig=AFQjCNG32iw
  34. <db100547> guest_19: well spec does not say yellow ports are output only.
  35. <guest_19> yea. but I called the technical guy & he told that all the 4 ports are for out put. The DSL port are for in put. :(

  38. <db100547> connect an ethernet cable  from touter topc . connect router to phone socket .  setup internet connection , with ip details's,   logon code.  etc .

  43. <Hopebot> Welcome back guest_78, you were known as guest_19 earlier.  You recently said: "can I try it now? if yes than what I have to do?";
  44. <camerongray> guest_78: Just to clarify, you have a modem that connects with an ethernet cable and want to use it with that router?
  45. <guest_78> yea.
  46. --> db100547 ([email protected]) has joined #computerhope
  47. <camerongray> Then unfortunately you can't do it - That router you have is designed for a DSL internet connection only and therefore cannot connect to your modem
  48. <-- db100547 ([email protected]) has quit (Quit: http://www.mibbit.com ajax IRC Client)
  49. <camerongray> You will need a router that is described as a "Cable" router which will give an ethernet port that is designated for your modem
  50. <guest_78> so now what should i do??
  51. <camerongray> Your only real option is to buy a different router then either return your current one if at all possible or try selling it on again
  52. <guest_78> it means it is useless now.
  53. <camerongray> Unfortunately yes
  54. <camerongray> However others may buy it for only slightly less than you paid
  55. <guest_78> okay
  56. <guest_78> okay
  57. <guest_78> let me check
  58. <guest_78> thanks
  59. <camerongray> No problem
  60. <camerongray> Basically, if a router mentions "ADSL" then it is not suitable for your connection
  61. <guest_78> okay..
  62. <camerongray> Something like this: http://www.flipkart.com/d-link-dir-600m-n150-wireless-router/p/itmdtg79yhtrykah?pid=RTRDTG78BGXPBE3H&otracker=from-search&srno=t_14&query=cable+router&ref=7bf7a0ae-c18e-4832-89fe-133480045364
  63. <camerongray> If you look at photos of the ports on that you will see the yellow Ethernet port for your modem: http://www.fashionfolder.com.bd/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/D-Link-DIR-600L-Wireless-N150-Cloud-Router-11.jpg
