1. Septimus wasn't actually at the hospital when that went off. He'd been at home, albeit restless and sleeping poorly (in fact, dozing on a couch and not actually in bed). This turns out to be lucky, as when things start he's making for the nearest exit of his suite and all but hurling himself into the air.
2.
3. (And somewhere, in the back of his head, there's a part of him coming close to screaming. Not again. Not ever again. I won't let it. I can't--)
4.
5. He may not have the superspeed of a Flash or the Supers, but it doesn't take him long to reach the hospital, and hits the ground with a thud and practically skids to a halt. For a moment his eyes widen in shock--he's seen destruction aplenty, and while Alera has no bombs there are not-unrelated battlecraftings. But he hasn't seen quite that pattern. The shock is quickly replaced by undiluted rage flashing in his vibrant green eyes, and before he really notices what he's doing fires in the area flare up and literal tremors run through the ground near him. With it comes a brief moment where unfocused waves of fear induced by his anger and fundamental, almost primal terror inundate the area.
6.
7. But he realizes what he's done a moment later, before the crafting gets too out of hand. The fires calm before they spread more thanks to his fit of temper--he even reins them in a little--and at least there aren't cracks left in the ground. A few moments of breathing deeply allow Septimus to cool his own temper and channel the still-roiling anger into something productive.
8.
9. But when he begins searching, he can't find Bianca. At some point he comes to the conclusion that personal and important are two very different things. Necessity has always played a prominent role in his mindset; while he usually tries to find other solutions, right now he doesn't have one.
10.
11. Instead he just falls back on the mindset of a Legion Captain, albeit in a much more limited way. He'll handle problems as they come; when he has time, he'll do what healing he can. But that tapers off, much sooner than he'd ever intended; something's wrong with the water. Without water he trusts, any healing he does has to be done without a tub, which is both more tiring and a little dubious.
12.
13. Though he takes some breaks to head out into the chaos personally, doing what he can, he can usually be found holding the ground at the hospital. He keeps a fire burning for warmth and light--and using it to craft hope and courage into the area, and pulling on earth nearly continuously for the calm. It's almost absentminded after enough hours of purely running it on a subroutine in his mind.
14.
15. Everything else is pure administration, organizing relief efforts, putting together teams where he can and sorting people into where they are best suited. And if he starts looking a little worn down--
16.
17. Well, he does not have the time for his own concerns right now.
18.
19. [[Important OOC note: In the interests of not godmodding while staying true to character, if you don't want to have your character interacting with Septimus's projecting emotions, both good and bad, feel free to have it be low level enough that your character just doesn't feel it. If you don't mind it, have fun. :) Hope that works.]]
