  1. Hi guys,
  2.
  3. I've recently decided it would be a good time OpenBSD a go on my old IBM thinkpad T60 laptop, after upgrading lubuntu to 16.04 resulted in my encountering the infamous wifi problems associated with that update. Upon reflection I realized that since I use a simple desktop setup (fluxbox + gkrellm) and a fairly basic set of apps I actually stand a decent chance of being able to use OpenBSD as a desktop OS without too much pain.

  5. Generally speaking this has worked out well (I was especially happy to see htop now runs on OpenBSD) but I'm still looking for a replacement for the nethogs Linux tool. That is my go-to tool if I look over at gkrellm and notice that I suddenly have a lot of network traffic that I can't immediately associate with a request that I know I made myself (this is a single user machine, so in theory it should be relatively quiet unless I tell it to do something.) nethogs quickly tells me which programs and user accounts are responsible for traffic and how much, which typically narrows down very quickly what is happening. I'm not particularly attached to the nethogs terminal GUI, but I would like to know of a way on OpenBSD to quickly and succinctly get that same set of information.

  8. Thanks for any assistance and for a very interesting and informative show!
