Curie leads the Toot survivors. She makes sure they are on task and doing things ethically. She finally has the "men and women of science" she mentions so many times, and leads them on projects. They are housed in the player vault from the vault tec dlc, so they feel at home, like they're used to underground.

MacCready takes the medicine we found together and heads back home to his son. The medicine works, so he returns to the Commonwealth and settles down in Sanctuary with the rest of the MM, with his friend who helped save his son. He uses his part experience to train the MM recruits.

X6 perished during the attack on the Institute.

Strong eventually understands when people explain that milk is a just a phrase. The SS sits down with him and teaches him how to read, so he can finally find the milk of human kindness he was searching for: the original use of the phrase, in Shakespeare. He teaches other mutants how to read, and eventually a faction of mutants who the Shakespeare is historical record forms and reenacts the events. The Shakespearean actor mutants become quite a hit around the Commonwealth and put on many shows.

Danse, now Elder after challenging Maxson, leads the Brotherhood forward from the Commonwealth to continue their purpose: to find dangerous technology, and if need be, eradicate it. They are less prone to wanting to kill non-feral ghouls and synths who are enemies of the toot, but of course eradicate those that are feral/toot loyal. They eventually leave the Commonwealth, and Danse leaves a long range radio should he ever require the aid of his friend back in the Commonwealth.

Preston, after leading the MM through the Toot crisis, finds the confidence he always needed. He steps in as General and leads the MM after the SS retires. He oversees the creation of a new CPG, but wants no part of it himself.

Piper focuses on her newspaper and making a better future for Nat. This time of (relative) peace after the toot is destroyed allows Nat to live a real childhood, and Piper focuses on being a good sister/mother figure. The SS regularly helps and becomes like an aunt to Nat. Piper's newspaper finally gets to write about mundane things like the weather and construction projects and politics, and Piper couldn't be happier.

Gage perished during the MM attack on Nuka World. The park is reopened and becomes a tourist attraction for kids all over the Commonwealth. Under Mackenzie's new leadership, the park becomes a symbol of hope and rebuilding. A raider stronghold becomes a children's park.

Old Longfellow retires back to his cabin, which now has all kinds of modern amnesties. He continues to fish and enjoy his peace. His visits from the SS where they cast lines in the ocean and reminisce about their adventures together become a highlight of his days, and he enjoys watching the youngsters on the island build a better future for themselves.

Hancock returns as mayor of Goodneighbor. Now that they aren't under constant threat of the toot, they focus on industry. Goodneighbor becomes a leading manufacturer of firearms and begins a mutually profitable trade relationship with DC, who supply them with food from allied farms and other goods. Mayor Geneva turns down his constant flirting, but they work well together. The commonwealth prospers.

Codsworth continues as he always has, being a faithful friend of the SS. But something changed during the synth crisis. Codsworth found himself worrying about things he wasn't programmed to worry about, offering opinions he wasn't programmed to have, giving advice not covered by his domestic duties advice programming, etc. He had become a person. He didn't know how, or even when exactly, but his programming somehow iterated itself past what was originally intended and he now has beliefs and opinions about many things. When he asks his good friend the SS about this, she says she's glad to have a new friend instead of a robot butler, and she says he can do whatever he wants. He decides to stay as an advisor in DC, and Mayor Geneva appreciates his aptitude for civil matters.

Ada has a similar realization and conversation, and she too is given the rights of a person. She defends caravans and ensures what happened to her friends doesn't happen to others.

Deacon finally finds peace. The destruction of the toot did not bring back his wife, but it was a step in the right direction for peace in the Commonwealth. He continues to busy himself with the destruction of the L&L Gang, but that's only a matter of time, now that he has the assistance of Preston's MM. With his newfound peace, he tells a few less lies and a few more truths.

Nick goes back to his detective agency and settles back into his old job, though now it's less toot kidnappings and more mundane matters. My husband is cheating on me, I got cheated in business, and other such mundane things. But Nick is glad things are normal enough now that these sorts of things become people's concerns. It means things are better now. He is surprised when Ellie Perkins asks him to marry her one day. He had always been fond of her, both personally and professionally, but he never imagined a human would feel that way about him. They become an investigation and crime fighting duo and live happily ever after.

Cait is happily married to the SS. They have a nice home in Sanctuary and finally get to enjoy life together. Cait isn't one to idle however, and the two of them still find themselves guarding caravans and other more dangerous jobs around the CW. Cait's mental and physical health have improved, being free from drugs and finally having home cooked meals and a doctor and such. But most importantly, she's happy. She is safe, secure, cared for, admired, respected, and all the things she never had before. She'd never admit it, but she's finally happy. This causes her to relax a bit with her selfish and callous behavior, and she becomes known for being sarcastic and ornery, but with a heart of gold underneath.
