  1. Nautilan
  2.
  3. Nautilans are strange creatures hailing from the same place - whatever it may be - as the similarly enigmatic illithid race. Their pale yellowish bodies could almost pass for human if not for the freakish head resembling an ammonite. The entire head is enveloped in a faceless spiral shell, curling forward and forming a sort of chin with it, with the neck and body flowing out from the end of its large outer layer - alongside an array of tentacles splayed out over the back of the creature, almost resembling hair.
  4.
  5. Nautilans have made it their mission to oppose illithids in the world wherever possible, as some extended aeon-enduring quest. Nonetheless, they are largely defeated in their war and scattered throughout the realm in small sects; an ongoing cascade of events following the death of their godworm, a titanic psychic being said to have dictated the fate of two worlds simultaneously for some time by extending its massive head through a portal. Its death in a huge mind flayer assault crippled the entire nautilan race permanently.

  15. ==Blindsense (Ex)==
  16. Nautilans are naturally blind, but are sensitive through unknown means to their physical surroundings. They can detect the world around them at a mere 20-foot range with Blindsense, which expands by 5-foot increments at every even-numbered level it attains.
  17.
  18. ==Blindsight (Ex)==
  19. At very close range, nautilans' mysterious and uncanny senses are heightened to the point of unimpairment. Starting at 10 feet, this Blindsight keeps up with half of the nautilan's Blindsense progression: at every level divisible by four, it increases by 5 feet.
  20.
  21. ==Shell Head (Ex)==
  22. Nautilans cannot have their brains directly and physically damaged through any normal means.
