  1. 16:13] <TenMihara|GM> 3 With whatever was palced over your head, you can't see, and the paralysis prevents you from making any sound
  2. 15[16:13] * Karina "..."
  3. [16:14] <TenMihara|GM> 3 You are dragged around for a few minutes by an unseen assailant, until you hear the opening of a door, through which you are imaginably taken. It's dim, but the light level is slightly increased after you enter. The door is closed and locked behind you
  4. 15[16:16] * Karina tries to wiggle or speak or do anything after the light level increases... but can't.
  5. [16:19] <TenMihara|GM> 3 The covering is removed from you revealing what looks remarkably like your old home here in Shantyshod. However, the markings are covered with strange zebra glyphs, scratched or painted onto the Scrap metal. The floor bears a large emblem of a six pointed star. With you inside the structure are Six other zebras. One of them has his back turned and seemed ot be reading a book. His flank is visible, and the glyph for 'knowledge' can be se
  6. 15[16:22] * Karina looks around at the walls and zebras. No... not only did they find her, they found where she used to live? And covered it in... oh boy... She focuses on the zebra buck with the book, studying him. The only one with his back turned and not paying attention... clearly the leader.
  7. 04[16:27] <TenMihara|GM> 3 The zebra reading the book closes it and turns to look, apparently prioritizing finishing reading over his companions return. he eyes Karina curiously, then looks to the zebra next to her curiously. "This is her?" He motions for one of them to remove her cloak, revealing her glyph.
  8. 15[16:29] * Karina would wince or flinch at her glyph being revealed in front of a bunch of zebras. But she's paralyzed and she was pretty sure she knew what these zebras wanted. Now she just had to sit there and wait until she could talk and maybe get answers to her questions. Like... what the heck do you want with me?
  9. 15[16:31] * Karina tries to clear her throat and focus enough to speak softly. "Wew'... ni nan..." (Who... are you...)
  10. [16:31] <TenMihara|GM> 3 The lead zebra steps forward. He exhudes a powerful presense, although he doesn't not look more than mildly above average in physique. He speaks in zebra now; ("Greetings Star Touched Mare. I go by Orion. In the Equestrian constellations, he is the hunter of the stars.")
  11. 15[16:34] * Karina swallows. Hunter of the stars. Star Touched Mare. Hunter of... me. "Na una'aka nin'?" (And what do you want?)
  12. [16:35] <TenMihara|GM> 3 Orion steps forward; ("I have always disliked that name on the whole, for in our tongue, 'hunter' may also mean 'seeker'. I have been seeking -you-.")
  13. 15[16:38] * Karina nervously swallows once again, dozens of scenarios about how she could possibly escape a group of zebras who wanted to kill her for her glyph running through her head. Though... the fact that hey -hadn't- killed her yet was still niggling in the back of her head. "Kama mim' ni nyota ku'uswa, kwa nin' yo'ote punda' kuwa ku'afuta mim'?" (If I'm star touched, why would any zebra be -looking- for me?)
  14. [16:40] <TenMihara|GM> 3 Orion smiles a little coldly. He removes his own cloak, revealing that the parts of his body not covered by armour are covered in scars. ("I tried to reach you once before, dispatching four of my companions to invite you to me. They never returned. What became of them?")
  15. 15[16:43] * Karina blinks and starts studying the scars on his body. At least this question could be spinned a bit... "(My friends shot at them when they said they wanted to talk to me alone. I told them to stop, and managed to save one of them, but she committed suicide.)" She says the final bit with a bit of... anger? Or perhaps disappointment.
  16. [16:47] <TenMihara|GM> 3 Orion nods solemnly; ("I see. I am glad at your attempt at mercy, and perhaps dear Seshik was too rash. However, I think you know well why we wanted to speak with you alone. Oh, and while I am at it, I feel I must apologize for the methods employed to bring you here. They struck me as prudent after the last attempt.")
  17. 15[16:50] * Karina shakes her head, still laying on her side and not ready to risk spooking anyone but standing up just yet. "(I -don't- know actually, why you wanted to speak with me alone. Why isn't this something my friends can listen to?)"
  18. 04[16:52] <TenMihara|GM> 3 Orion looks at Karina as though he's looking through her. ("You... do not know. How interesting that you should be so marked, yet not privvy to your own fate.")
  19. 15[16:53] * Karina "(I was chased away from my home when I was a foal for getting this mark and spent the rest of my life among ponies.)"
  20. [16:56] <TenMihara|GM> 3 Orion nods; ("I see. Then perhaps it is time you were enlightened. You may rise if you like, I know the paralytic has worn off. Also, I may ask for Brutus' knife back in a moment.")
  21. 15[16:58] * Karina slowly works her way to her hooves and faces Orion. The knife... she'd kinda grown attached to that knife... "(Enlighten me. Please.)" She says that without even a hint of sarcasm.
  22. [17:01] <TenMihara|GM> 3 Orion smiles; ("I am glad to see you are eager to learn. Tell me, have you ever heard of the Black Book of Nezethkazx?") He pauses for a moment, not sure he pronounced that right.
  23. 15[17:05] * Karina nods. "(I've -heard- of it, though I can't say I know a whole lot about it.)"
  24. [17:07] <TenMihara|GM> 3 Orion smiles; ("That tome posessed knowledge granted to an ancient zebra alchemist in his dreams. Great, dark and terrible knowledge, magic and power beyond the zen of mortal equines. This knowledge was granted by the stars. That alchemist had a mark idenitcal to yours.")
  25. 15[17:09] * Karina blinks at Orion. "(Which means... you think...)" That it belongs to her now?
  26. [17:11] <TenMihara|GM> 3 Orion smiles a little more warmly; ("Though the tome itself has been lost to the ages, there is much that kind of knowledge and power can do. My fellows and I have tried to divine that knowledge to some effect ourselves, but the greatest treasure out meagre rituals and visions have shown us... is you.")
  27. 15[17:13] * Karina goes to smile then realizes something. "(You still haven't answered... why you want me.)" Dark and terrible knowledge was... "(What do you think I can do for you?)"
  28. [17:15] <TenMihara|GM> 3 Orion smirks; ("So much. You are chosen by the stars, and we were led to you. Your connection will grant you the knowledge we seek, and our studies have shown us how to use it. We were cast out for petitioning the stars for their wisdom, but truely, what can they do to us that has not already been done?")
  29. [17:18] <TenMihara|GM> 3 Orion notes; ("The greatest pony magician of the age before the war was one by the name of Twilight Sparkle; she had a constelation of stars as her mark. There are also old legends of a pony mage named Star-Swirl. I do not believe this to be coincidence.")
  30. [17:19] <TenMihara|GM> 3 Orion continues; ("They had wisdom and power that could do many great things. Think of what could be done for the world with that kind of power returned.")
  31. 15[17:21] * Karina closes her eyes for a minute before speaking. The last thing she was going to let happen was to let herself be used. "(Wisdom and power returned... to me?)"
  32. [17:23] <TenMihara|GM> 3 Orion nods; ("Yes. As the one who is marked, the wisdom would be yours and yours alone, to do with what you see fit. However, if what my visions have told me are true, you are not the type to do nothing. We would merely hope you had some willingness to share with us. Perhaps you have seen something already; have you had premonitious dreams?")
  33. 15[17:24] * Karina 's eyes pop back open, somewhat shocked at the question. "(Y-yes. Yes I have.)" No... she wasn't just going to sit and do nothing.
  34. [17:26] <TenMihara|GM> 3 Orion smiles; ("How many? How often?")
  35. 15[17:28] * Karina blinks. "(Many... lately every other night.)" Two dreams specifically about you... Yet one of the dreams saying something bad would happen if I showed you the knowledge... But this... was simply to big to ignore and do nothing about.
  36. [17:30] <TenMihara|GM> 3 Orion looks curious and a little pleased; ("One of them was about me wasn't it? I would like to hear it, if you are willing to share.")
  37. 15[17:32] * Karina nods, opting to -not- tell him about the one that told her not to share anything she knew. "(Dream showed me that I would be led here... straight to you.)" She looks around at all the zebras. "(Dream was right all the way down to the number of zebras here...)"
  38. 04[17:34] <TenMihara|GM> 3 Orion smiles, then observes Karina; ("There is something you are not saying... you are afraid. Whether of us or of the stars I am uncertain.")
  39. 15[17:37] * Karina "(I was chased away from Roam because of the stars and I've hidden, sometimes unsuccessfully, from zebras for the last fifteen years all because of my mark. Of course I'm afraid.)"
  40. [17:40] <TenMihara|GM> 3 Orion nods, looking sympathetic. ("I'll admit, this is not an easy path to take. Nor is it one that is without some consequence.") He gestures to his scars. ("However, I sought these things on my own, and do not regret doing so. You have been marked by the stars, and I feel that knowledge is rightly yours. It is possible you would not have to go to the extremes by fellows and I did.")
  41. 15[17:41] * Karina 's nose crinkles a bit at the news the scars were all self-inflicted. Ew. "(What measures, then, -do- you think I would have to go through?)"
  42. [17:43] <TenMihara|GM> 3 Orion looks puzzled; ("I do not know. I believe that is something for you to discover. However, I may know a way to help you find the answer. It is something from our own rituals, a way to kickstart a dreamlike state.")
  43. 15[17:44] * Karina slowly lowers herself into a sitting potion and clears her throat. "(What's that?)"
  44. [17:46] <TenMihara|GM> 3 Orion nods; ("It would involve drawing a little blood, and then the inhalation of an herbal mixture. You would lay down on the star and let your mind go blank.") he gestures to the six pointed star marked on the floor
  45. 15[17:46] * Karina blinks at Orion. "(You're completely serious, aren't you?)"
  46. [17:46] <TenMihara|GM> 3 Orion notes; ("I can promise nothing, but I think this is something you need. If nothing else, it may answer yoru questions about who you are and why you were chosen.")
  47. [17:49] <TenMihara|GM> 3 Orion steps away; ("But if you do not feel you are ready... I suppose there is nothing to be done.")
  48. 15[17:49] * Karina closes her eyes for a minute then lets out a slow growling sigh. She looks all around the room, taking in her surroundings, before looking back at Orion. Even if all that other stuff never happened... those questions were what she wanted answers to. "(... Fine.)"
  49. [17:50] <TenMihara|GM> 3 Orion looks only slightly pleased; ("If it is anything like what I have gone through, it will be an intense experience. I wish you luck. Might I have Brutus' knife please?")

  54. 15[17:52] * Karina "(The knife, what is it for?)"
  55. [17:53] <TenMihara|GM> 3 Orion smiles; ("Only to draw the blood. If you are untrusting, you may withold the vial of paralytic inside, I merely need a few drops of blood.")
  56. 15[17:55] * Karina lowers her head and gets underneath her cloak and pulls the knife out of its sheath and holds it back up. This was so going to get her killed.
  57. 04[17:58] <TenMihara|GM> 3 Orion takes the knife and removes the paralytic, tossing it to a zebra mare with dirt on her hooves. She had, until that moment, been working with some potters. Orion takes one of Karina's forelegs and places a knick in the flesh, letting some of the blood pool on the blade. He quickly presses his discarded red cloak onto the nick to stop the bleeding. He leave Kar to hold it while he annoints the points of the star
  58. 15[18:00] * Karina winces as she is cut. Doesn't hurt as much as a bullet to the teet, but hey, still painful.
  59. 04[18:01] <TenMihara|GM> 3 Orion comes back and lays an inhaler in front of Karina; ("This is a compound similar to the drug dash. However, it has been refined to prevent the addictive properties, and to allow for more lucid trances.")
  60. 04[18:04] <TenMihara|GM> 3 Orion looks to Karina; ("You do not have to take it if you do not feel you are yet ready.")
  61. 15[18:04] * Karina 's nose crinkles again. Hated drugs. "(Hate drugs...)" However... she takes the inhaler anyway and holds it in front of her face and looks at it for a minute.
  62. [18:05] <TenMihara|GM> 3 Orion says nothing. This was her choice to make. Anything else that followed was her choice. He was admittedly curious though; he had been expecting her to be taller.
  63. 15[18:07] * Karina glances around with a look that says basically 'If you try to do something to me while I'm high, I'm going to come back and brutally kill each and every one of you' before lifting it to her mouth and inhaling. Dumb stupid answers, why do you require such idiocy to be found...
  64. 04[18:15] <TenMihara|GM> 3 Orion nods; ("You will not be touched until the vision ends.") As Karina takes the drug, she immediately begins to feel woozy. Orion supports her and guides her to the star, laying her down and lining up her legs, head and tail with the points of the star. She didn't quite fill the array, which had been sized for someone more his stature. Karina quickly fades into a trance
  65. [18:15] <TenMihara|GM> 3 Orion steps back and watches carefully
  66. [18:15] <TenMihara|GM> 3 ~~~~~~~~~~
  67. [18:17] <TenMihara|GM> 3 You are in that same great black void as your dreams seem to occupy. There are points of light off in the distance. Three of them shoot forward and float in front of you, spinning around each other.
  68. [18:20] <TenMihara|GM> 3 One of the stars is red. It speaks first; "Listen to my voice, and recieve the power to do anythign your heart desires. I run red with the blood that beats within you. I am your destiny." It seems to slip back and allow the others to come forward in turn.
  69. [18:21] <TenMihara|GM> 3 The next star is blue, it's light is cool. "Listen to my wisdom. There is much you can gain by venturing down unfamiliar paths, but there is also much to lose."
  70. [18:23] <TenMihara|GM> 3 The third and final star is white. It is energetic. "Listen to my voice. I could share with you the gift of knowledge. Things you never thought or expected, to use for the sake of yourself or others. I can open you eyes."
  71. [18:25] <TenMihara|GM> 3 The pull of the red star seems to be the strongest. It's light begins to shine brighter.
  72. 15[18:35] * Karina ... power... to do anything her heart desired... her heart desired many things... one of the things her heart desired was the reason she was brought back to this town, this place... if she had power to do anything... she wouldn't -need- to keep up this plan Keen had given her...
  73. [18:39] <TenMihara|GM> 3 The red light grows brighter still. "I am glad you choose your heart. Sometimes Wisdom takes too long to pay off, and knowledge can be misconstrewed. Follow your heart, and it will guide you to the truth."

  75. 04[18:42] <TenMihara|GM> 3 Orion is standing over Karina as she awakens. "I am glad you are coming to. There is someone at the door and they seem forceful. I fear they may be here with sinister intent."
