Shadow of the Darkness, Session 3

<DM>	*LAST TIME ON DRAGON BALL Z.....URPG!
<DM>	*You went to the Shadow Temple to seek help from the Sheikah, only to find out that Impa was Dio- Bloodwind all along! No not really, but he tricked you, decapitated Darte, then asked Impa about some Majora artifact, only to end up stuck in the Shadow Temple trying to mine it for fish. (how do i mine 4 fish)
<DM>	*Then, along with actual Impa, you went to the Old Shadow Realm, realm of the Old Sheikah. Wow, lotta old things here. You got ambushed by mucky dredge looking Interloper thingies, but repelled them and escaped through a door unlocked by Kirran's Spectral Key.
<DM>	*Only to find yourselves locked in with BONGO BONGO, and then some Sheikah test thingy happened, Rokan supposedly appeared (OR DID HE REALLY?), questioned/tested you all on stuff (cause Sheikah love them trials), you found out Impa is holding some super secret but refuses to let it goooooo let it go-
<DM>	*And then you all passed the trial, got some cool super special awesome powerups (Darte got buffed Sword Stance Mantra, Hal is a Final Fantasy character, and Kirran decided to give Raine the freedom to vote like a true American. Thankfully, ZURPG has no electoral college to screw that over).)
<DM>	*Finally, you're on you're way to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of Oz....... actually that's pretty close to accurate if you think about it, Garunoff does haz magical spectral powers, I guess that counts.

The path ahead actually spirals around the walls down towards the bottom of the pit. Above you is a familiar bridge, one that you all may have crossed long ago in the past...
<DM>	*And above that, on the ceiling, are various souls stuck in.... hang on, I'm curious, what's the original description of this room.
*	Hal goes behind the fourth wall to dig up Windstrike's pastebin

<DM>	<DM> *What awaits you a massive, cylindrical room (the flat sides = top and bottom) with a large bridge from where you are to the other side. On the other side of the bridge, you see a large door.*
<DM>	* Dex puts his Bucket List away.
<DM>	<Dex> Ok.
<DM>	<DM> *Above you is a sea of souls, wailing and screaming, though it seems subdued by a low drone sound.*
<DM>	<DM> *The sound is echoing throughout the room. Below the bridge seems to be an abyss of darkness.*
<DM>	*So now you get to descend into that 'abyss of darkness'. Perfect!
*	Darte searches the ground for Dex's Bucket List.
*	Kirran searches for Dex.
<DM>	*You find no bucklet list or Dex, but you do see a lot of skulls littering the path down to the abyss.
<DM>	...... note to self - potentially rename the Twilight Quest off Twilight Abyss
*	Kirran picks up a skull.
<Kirran>	Alas, poor Dex. I knew him, Darte.
<Kirran>	A man of infinite jest
<DM>	*You see on the skull, it has an Eye of Truth on it, along with other Sheikah markings.
*	Hal glances at the skulls leading down to the abyss.
<Hal>	Welp, looks like we will be going down a path of death
<DM>	[Impa]: Relax Kirran, those skulls aren't from our recent battles. These skeletons are likely from this dungeon's prison, souls that were trapped, so their bodies tried to escape, only to wander down here.
<Darte>	When he wasn't giving your eyes strange stares.
<Kirran>	of most excellent fanc...Ah, who am I kidding?

*	Kirran puts the skull back where it came from.
<Darte>	I was about to ask that...
<Hal>	That would make the most sense
<Hal>	Given the screaming souls above
<Darte>	The atmosphere here is... pleasant enough, I suppose, but are we just heading through that door, then?
<DM>	[Impa]: At the bottom of this pit is supposed to be where Garunoff is sealed-

<DM>	*She points to a walkway that spirals down the sides of the walls all the way to the bottom. Looks to be a several mile hike down.
<DM>	*She pokes a quizzical eye at you for a moment in reaction to "been through that door", but instead just continues onwards, dodging the skeletons and not crushing their skulls in.
*	Hal follows Impa

<DM>	*As you head down, the light coming from the screaming souls above fades as darkness and silence takes over. Well, it's silent for a bit, until you notice a very subtle whisper steadily echoing across the chamber walls.
<DM>	*You recognize them as Interloper whispers, aka bunch of voices whispering in..... god dangit can't think of the word

<DM>	*Fine, think Ring Wraith speech. That should work as an accurate comparison.
*	Darte pokes at the wall suspiciously.  "Tell me.  What did they make this place with?"
<Kirran>	Interlopers, apparently.
<DM>	[Impa]: ... you know what, I'm not sure where the original Sheikah got the stone resources to build a dungeon this vast.
*	Kirran sits in the comfy chair behind the fourth wall.

<DM>	*Finally, you all descend into darkness, the only source of light being Raine flickering between light and darkness.
<DM>	*During some of the times she goes dark, you can see red eyes peering at you from the abyss, but the disappear when she switches back to light.
<Kirran>	Man, there better not be wisps down here...
<Hal>	Those are probably interlopers down ther
<DM>	[Raine]: Hey, is it me, or is the darkness bleeding when I'm not looking?
*	Darte glares at Raine.  "Can't you make up your mind?"
<Hal>	That does not sound nice.
<DM>	[Raine]: What? No! Of course not! Strawberry bloodbath vs. cherry gore is the hardest debate of my life! Of course I can't make up my mind, you dummy fish!
<Hal>	And by that we should keep our guard up. Things are starting to get weird
<Kirran>	You know, if Dex were here, he'd probably use Darte as a surfboard and skate all the way down the stairs.
<Hal>	Knowing that bloody lizardlips, he would.
*	DM would totally approve of that Dex plan.
<Hal>	He is not one to respect rules.
<DM>	[???]: And so you ran out of actual Sheikah to bring to the fight. Just how hopeless are you, Impa?
<DM>	*Some older sounding dude's voice just cuts in outta nowhere, not sure where it's coming from.
<Kirran>	You know, is it too much to ask that we actually surprise a villain one of these days? It's like they always know we're coming.
*	Darte doesn't want to die another horrible steppy death.
<DM>	[Impa]: You may it sound like we can just ambush their leader before they get stuck behind a door.
<DM>	*cough cough*
<DM>	[Impa]: I've heard this voice before. It's one of the Old Sheikah, but I don't know more than that. Ignore him and prepare to set some Interlopers on fire.
<Kirran>	Yay! Fireworks.
<Hal>	The real surprise doesn't come from us catching him before we notice.
<DM>	[Impa]: Actually... Hal, your wand, it can hit a wide area, yes? Why don't we strike first instead of waiting for them?
<Hal>	Alright. Let's do that

*	Hal puts his Cane away and draws out his Wizzrobe Wand, readying it
*	Darte doesn't want to fight on stairs...

<Kirran>	Hey Raine, do you know what happens when you put a bunch of Deku seeds in a sealed bottle?

<DM>	*Well, now that your weapon is on fire, you have a nearby light source.
*	Kirran tosses a couple of Deku seeds at the goops.
*	Hal holds his wand up, firing another wave of magic at the goody madness

<DM>	*The flash from your deku seeds blinds them and pushes them back for a bit. Now that they're properly illuminated, you're not even sure where the heck their eyes are coming from.
<DM>	[Impa]: If you use a physical weapon, I can empower you, but I can't empower your spells.
*	Kirran uses his magic candle to illuminate the area.
<DM>	*The candlelight dances about, displaying a group of three of these..... goops, inching towards your position.
<DM>	*They are now blocking the path downwards.
*	Kirran stuffs a bunch of deku seeds in a bottle (not Raine's bottle) and seals it shut.
<DM>	[Raine]: Ooh, that looks tasty! Can I eat it?
<Kirran>	You all might want to cover your eyes.
*	Hal then fires another wave of fiery magic from his empowered wand, hoping to set them all on fire at the same time Kirran's bottle strikes the goops.
*	Kirran throws the bottle as hard as he can at the wall closest to the group of slimes.
<DM>	[Raine]: I don't think I want to do a music cover for eyes......
*	Hal looks back briefly
*	Darte pulls out their bow and metal-tipped arrows.
<DM>	*Impa covers her eyes.

*	Kirran uses the Cane of Lalakar to teleport behind the Sheikah and do a backstab with Rokan's Lance.

*	Hal puts his shield up, in a defensive stance.
<Darte>	What's it they do? Can I shoot 'em?
<DM>	[Impa]: The Golden Gauntlets. Link used to have them, he could lift massive boulders with them. I'm honestly surprised he didn't use them against Ganon himself.
<Hal>	Those golden gauntlets... those are a valuable artifact.
<DM>	*Kirran, you also received an image in your mind. The image is of that Sheikah man standing alongside Garunoff, blood draining from your chest.
<Kirran>	You? You betrayed Rokan!?
<DM>	[???]: Huh, a weapon that strikes directly at the soul. Interesting. Something felt rather.... familiar... about that.
<DM>	[???]: Ah, Rokan..... that's what that reminded me of.
<DM>	*He seems to look solemn for just a moment before he bounces back to his usual backstabber brevado.
<DM>	[???]: It seems I'll have to kill him twice. But for now, I'll just stall you.
*	Hal looks about to see if the interlopers are reanimating again
*	Darte turns around.  "He's shown up behind us once..."
<DM>	*He holds out his hands and fires a PSI Strike, but then grabs it before it goes anywhere. He then uses the power of his gauntlet to infuse it with greater magic and fling it at you all.
<DM>	*Everyone roll Wisdom to defend!
*	Hal attempts to block the attack
<DM>	*Impa uses a Water Shield on herself before blocking the attack.

<DM>	*You do feel a bit more at ease seeing something explode.
<DM>	[Raine]: Well, guess it'll slow down anyone trying to chase us. Not that anyone would. I think?

<Hal>	I don't think anyone is going to chase us now.
<Kirran>	At this point, the way things are going, I wouldn't put it past Bloodwind to try.

*	Kirran heads off after Impa again.
*	Hal continues down the path
<DM>	*You all head on down, full speed down the rocky path. You're now close enough to see what's at the bottom of the pit.
<DM>	*The path ends in a stairwell, leading down several rows of seats. It appears the pit is a coliseum. At the center, in the pit, you see the spirit of Garunoff, who seems to be phasing between being a ghost and a physical form. He's drawing in beams of green energy from a group of nearby prisoners.
*	Hal recovers another 2 magic naturally

*	Kirran pulls out Rokan's Lance.
<Kirran>	Hope you're ready, old friend.
<DM>	*Next to him is that Sheikah man with the Golden Gauntlets. He looks up at you, grinning. Around him is an army of Interloper goops, along with another Sheikah man, standing at the back of the goops, seemingly commanding them.
<DM>	*You feel Rokan's Lance shake for a moment, then it releases some energy into you, revitalizing you. You also seem to be free of that weird rage cloud you were experiencing earlier.
<DM>	*Hal and Darte, you never experienced that rage cloud, it seemed to just be Kirran and Impa.
<Kirran>	15h, 10m | mirage, dark epiphany

<DM>	*You can see Impa approaching the bottom of the stairwell, both weapons in hand, she herself flaming with rage.

<DM>	(At least 100 feet. I don't recommend falling that distance, though if you keep taking the path, it's about thrice that distance.)
<Kirran>	(But it's straight down?)
<DM>	(100 feet straight down, 300 if you keep taking the path)
<Kirran>	(Rokan, you need to help her. I can't fight Garunoff alone. I need her strength.)
<DM>	[???]: Ah, Impa, welcome! You're just in time! I was just thinking... why, Garunoff could use just a tad bit more power, and I was thinking... why not use Impa?
*	Kirran throws Rokan's Lance at Impa.
<Hal>	(Can Hal support the weight of both Darte and Kirran?
<DM>	*Some of the goops reach their arms up to grab the lance. Impa tries to jump up to catch it.

*	Kirran grabs onto Hal.
*	Hal takes his Ocarina out and plays the Song of Soaring!
<DM>	[???]: Death Sword, your darn fledgling goops are kinda weak. Any chance you'd be willing to lend a hand?
<Hal>	DESCRIPTION: A light, fast-paced tune that, when played, gives you a pair of Magic wings that give you the ability to fly for a short period of time.

<DM>	*Song of Soaring success! You fly outwards, carrying Kirran and Darte as you start to fly downwards, though with their weight, you're not exactly falling at a safe pace.

<Kirran>	Any plan on how to land this crazy thing?
<Hal>	I'ma landing onto a lower section of the stairwell
<DM>	*You manage to get pretty close.
<Kirran>	At critical velocity?
<Hal>	Minimize the distance between us and Impa
<DM>	*Out of the corner of your eyes, there seems to be one section of the Coliseum that's just a shroud of darkness. Out from it, a black claw reaches out from it. A black sword, made from talons stitched together materializes out of its hand. Just the look of it causes a sinking feeling in all of you.
<Kirran>	Is that Penumbra?
<DM>	*Or in your guys cases, a bit literally. The Song of Soaring gets deafened out, annnnnnd you all fall down onto the staircase, stumbling a bit. No fall damage, just a bit of a stumble down.
*	Hal flaps upwards a bit, to reduce the landing velocity to a safe level as he descends onto the lower section of the stairwell.
<DM>	*Hal you manage to land on your feet. The other two, not so much.
<DM>	[Raine]: Nah, Penumbra ain't that creepy- gah!

<Hal>	*After landing, Hal cancels the song's effect and rushes to catch Darte as he stumbles downwards*
<DM>	[Raine]: Argh, stop phasing in and out of existence!
<Hal>	(How far did we travel downwards?)
<DM>	*You're pretty darn close to Impa. She's actually backing her way towards you, especially at the sight of that vicious looking claw sticking out of the shadows.
<DM>	[Impa]: What in the heck is that?
<Hal>	(So 90+ Feet
<DM>	(yeah)
*	Hal consumed 3 magic during that fight
<DM>	*You hear a very deep, distorted voice coming from there.

*	Hal puts his Ocarina away and takes out his wand and shield
<DM>	[Death Sword]: Fine. I shall grant aid to you, Uroh. But only once. We Interlopers have limits outside the Twilight Realm.
<DM>	*The claw and the sword move back inwards into the darkness.
<DM>	*The darkness disappears, leaving nothing behind.
<DM>	*You hear the voice again, say the words:
<DM>	[Death Sword]: Aeternal Darkness
<DM>	*A massive shroud of pure darkness appears, blotting you all out. Not even Raine's light pierces through it. You feel your souls contract as an overwhelming abyss floods you.
<DM>	*Then, from the darkness, your greatest rival, the strongest villain of all appears.......
