Nurah's first gun

20:30	Riqueza	With how wrecked Drezen is, it's not hard to find some open clearings and other desolated areas. And one morning, Riqueza has called Nurah out to such a field, with some clutter but also what appears to be training dummies--proper, stolen, and improvised--adorning a field.
20:30	Riqueza	"Alright, Nurah, here we are."
20:30	Nurah	"Okay..."
20:30	Nurah	"So...why did you call me here?"
20:31		Riqueza smiles wickedly. "You still got that sling of yours, yeah?"
20:31	Nurah	"Yeah."
20:31		Nurah pulls it out
20:31	Nurah	"Not good for much, but handy in a pinch!"
20:32	Riqueza	"Well then..." she pulls a small box out, one used for holding a ceremonial weapon, although it's not very big. "I got a little present for you," she says, handing it over to Nurah, barely containing the excitement in her voice. "Go on, open it!"
20:33	Nurah	"Oh!"
20:33		Nurah slowly opens it
20:33	Nurah	"It's..."
20:33	Nurah	"It's...a gun?"
20:33	Nurah	"Like yours?"
20:33	Nurah	"But...oh, thanks, Riqueza!"
20:33		Riqueza nods excitedly. "Yup! I made it just for you!"
20:33	Nurah	"Wow."
20:33	Nurah	"I...I don't know waht to say..."
20:34		Nurah hugs Riqueza
20:34		Riqueza hugs back. "Heh, a hug will do too."
20:34	Nurah	"But...I, uh..."
20:34	Nurah	"I don't know how to use it."
20:35	Riqueza	"I was thinking, when I saw you with that sling, a pistol might suit you better. You got the aim, but, no offense, you ain't benchpressing anything."
20:35	Riqueza	"Well that's why we're here!"
20:35	Nurah	"None taken."
20:35	Riqueza	"I'm gonna show you how to use it, just like my parents showed me how to--" she looks over Nurah again. Kinda frail... "Ok, slightly different than how my parents showed me how to use mine."
20:36	Nurah	"I hope I wouldn't get as close-up as you tend to."
20:36		Nurah smirks
20:38	Riqueza	"Yeah...thing is, when I learned, there wasn't a lot of room. Ratfolk don't really got a lot of sight lines."

20:39	Nurah	"Yeah...I've had enough thrills lately."
20:39	Nurah	"Well, not that I wouldn't like more."
20:39	Nurah	"Jsut not that kind."
20:39	Riqueza	"But the first thing we're gonna do is actually show you how to load it." She takes out a dose of black powder and a bullet. "Here, lemme demonstrate. You put the powder in like so, then the bullet in, then jab it in, then..." she points the gun at one of the targets and fires at it. "Bang."
20:39	Nurah	"...you get what I mean, right?"
20:40	Riqueza	"Yeah, i getcha"
20:40	Nurah	"Huh."
20:40	Nurah	"So, let's see..."
20:40	Riqueza	"It's simple. Add black powder, add bullet, point slim in away from face and at bad guy."
20:40		Nurah takes the gun
20:40	Nurah	"How much do I put in?"
20:41	Riqueza	"Only a few ounces. I measured out the dose you would want to use."
20:41	Riqueza	"If you stuff too much stuff in, you'll damage the gun."
20:41	Nurah	"How are you able to figure out how much to put in in the heat of abttle?"
20:43		Nurah carefully loads her gun
20:45	Riqueza	"It takes practice, but it tends to be easier if you use pre-mixed cartridges. I'll show you how to make those in a bit, but wanted to do the basics first."

20:54	Riqueza	"You have to be careful loading it, but sometimes it just happens. The important thing to do is not panic."
20:54	Nurah	"I kinda get how you like the risk and payoff of these things now..."
20:54	Riqueza	"When your gun misfires like that, you're gonna need to clear the barrel. Here, lemme show you."
20:55		Nurah gives the gun over

20:56		Riqueza takes the gun. "Now point the gun away from you, and you fix it like this." While she can do it incredibly fast, Riqueza slowly demonstrates how she clears the misfired powder and bullet out of the gun. "Like that. It's fine to load and shoot again."

20:57	Riqueza	"Just be careful. If your gun ever misfires like that and you try to shoot it again, it can actually explode, and that would be very bad."

20:57		Riqueza loads a bullet into the gun and shoots at a target
20:57	Nurah	"I'm not sure I could get the hang of that."

21:00		Riqueza chuckles to herself. "Heh, y'know, this does feel kinda weird. I've always wanted to teach someone how to use a gun."

21:01	Riqueza	"I mean sure we got off to a rocky start, but still. It's nice to have you around."

21:02	Riqueza	"Hey, you were under duress, so it's cool. Besides, you didn't actually kill me (although you got damn close I gotta admit)."

21:03	Nurah	"This gun is really nice!"
21:05	Riqueza	"Hell yeah it is!" she says, not even attempting to hide her pride. "And soon, I'm gonna show you how to make your own!"
21:05	Nurah	"Really? That's...awesome!"
21:06	Riqueza	"You're gonna be a singin' shootin' machine, I tells ya. I'm gonna teach you everything I was taught."
21:06	Nurah	"I never thought about it like that...my bardic magic, mixed with this gun..."
21:06		Nurah slowly grins
21:08	Riqueza	"Now you're getting it, girl. But you still got a lot of training to do."
21:09	Nurah	"This is gonna be fun!"
21:11	Riqueza	"Oh yeah! I almost forgot." She reaches into her haversack and pulls out a small kit.
21:11	Nurah	"Hm?"
21:11	Riqueza	"This is what you're gonna need for fixing up your gun and making your ammo. It's got all the tools you need for doing so."
21:11	Riqueza	"Keep this with you, and make sure you maintenence that gun regularly. I'd be mighty pissed if you let such an awesome weapon rust due to negligence."
21:12	Nurah	"Don't worry, I wouldn't!"
21:13	Riqueza	"Good. Now then, some more target practice..."
