A reasonable, mature discussion between NoochM and Znernicus

znernicus: it should have all the different options of how to include the runs on the leaderboard like I was posting about

NoochMtheGod™: Should runs that skip container ride and add the time skipped to the total time, plus a margin of error of a few ticks, be comparable to runs that do not skip container ride?
znernicus: I don't think it should lock people into Yes/No on a single option, it should mention our alternatives
znernicus: and that question is very open-ended. What does it mean to be comparable? You can compare any two runs regardless of what category they are placed under
znernicus: I can compare a late-start run to a full game run by saying it toko 5 minutes less to do
NoochMtheGod™: For example, if a runner gets a total time, factoring in the skipped container ride and a reasonable potential time loss, that is faster than. The current world record that does not skip the container ride, it will be eligible to be accepted as the world record.
NoochMtheGod™: Copy and paste that into a poll and we're done
NoochMtheGod™: Add an "I don't agree with either choice" option to the poll and if we find a significant number of people choosing that we'll go from there.
znernicus: That's way more specific than what we should be asking, plus I can already tell you at least 36% is just going to vote no again
znernicus: the thing is if 36% wanted none of these runs at all, just be having them on the leaderboard we are catering to the majority
znernicus: but that doesn't mean the option chosen should cater 100% to the majority because, they still have considerable opposition

znernicus: idk if you saw but I thought making it a separate category (non-misc because a majority taking it seriously means it shouldn't be misc)
NoochMtheGod™: Because it should still count as WR even if it skips the cut scene especially if we add the margin of error thing that would likely put players at a disadvantage

znernicus: was a good approach to a compromise which overall favored the majority Yes vote without giving them everything
NoochMtheGod™: Combine the current main category with this one because the times are the same
znernicus: I think the times should be different actually and throw out the notion of a penalty
znernicus: because if you are not doing the intro, why should you time it
znernicus: your run isn't taking that long
znernicus: just time from the end of container ride to the end of the game in the new category
znernicus: and if I were to put my run on that category I would just take out however long my intro was
NoochMtheGod™: Because if you don't include the intro then Znern will have the real WR because you cheated by skipping the beginning even though your run was better than his
znernicus: that way we don't have to argue about "reasonable time loss" in the intro
znernicus: although most people are ok with adding a second, it's still silly to post a run time that isn't the actual length of the run
znernicus: and under this compromise I would have the WR in the full game category and, well, if pero gets a faster late-start run then he would have WR there

NoochMtheGod™: Even if it isn't a misc category it is still not as good as someone who has more time on their hands to sit through the cut scene every reset
