- The hooded form of Abderus, a black-robed triton stands here, hands clasped.
- This triton priest is robed in long swathes of black cloth, clasped at his waist
- by a plain leather belt. Upon his blue-skinned feet he wears a simple pair of
- sandals adorned by a single brass buckle. Abderus's features are almost entirely
- obscured by the deep black hood which tops his garment, an occasional flash of
- brilliant aquamarine eyes visible when he turns his head. Embroidered upon the
- back of his sable robe is a large circle, sewn in threads the colour of stone or
- a stormy sky. A subtle hint of salt fills the air around the triton, seafront
- smells wafting upwards from his clothes.
- Abderus, a black-robed triton appears to be extraordinarily strong.
- He weighs about 175 pounds.
- --[ DAY 1 ]------------------------------------------
- Abderus, a black-robed triton tells you, "I could have been away with your

- Abderus, a black-robed triton says, "A choice or a regret I wonder?"
- You say with a rough Meropian accent, "A regret if ever I had any."
- You smirk.

- You raise an eyebrow questioningly.

- Abderus, a black-robed triton says, "The old order will be overthrown."
- You say with a rough Meropian accent, "Intriguing. Where there is strife, there
- is profit and adventure."
- You rub your hands with greed, seeing an opportunity to make more money.
- Abderus, a black-robed triton says, "Even in the depths of the oceans, your name
- begins to spool its current, divinable by the subtlest of augurs."
- Abderus, a black-robed triton says, "Every answer makes me more pleased than the
- last."
- Abderus, a black-robed triton says, "Hmm, hmm."
- Abderus, a black-robed triton says, "Tell me of your views of the world below,
- Captain."

- Abderus, a black-robed triton says, "I am curious."
- You smirk.
- You say with a rough Meropian accent, "I have spent my years gathering

- Abderus, a black-robed triton nods carefully.
- Abderus, a black-robed triton says, "I speak... of more spiritual matters."

- Abderus, a black-robed triton waves his hand dismissively.
- Abderus, a black-robed triton says, "No doubt, no doubt."
- Abderus, a black-robed triton says, "But what of..." and here Abderus pauses for
- an almost imperceptible roll of the eye "...the God-King Himself? Do you
- venerate the Lord Neraeos?"
- You say with a rough Meropian accent, "My views of the essence of the seas is
- limited. I trust in what I can hold and see. I pay homage to the sea prince so

- Abderus, a black-robed triton nods his head emphatically.
- Abderus, a black-robed triton says, "A practical man."
- Abderus, a black-robed triton says, "In service, I trust I do not insult you by
- saying so, to himself and shirking the chains of service to any higher power?"
- Abderus, a black-robed triton says, "A reasonable summary?"
- You say with a rough Meropian accent, "To an extent aye. Though I've never seen
- myself in service to any powers other then my own desires."
- You smirk.
- Abderus, a black-robed triton smiles a beatific smile.
- Abderus, a black-robed triton says, "And what if such a power wished for naught
- but the perfection of your ability to serve your own desires?"
- Abderus, a black-robed triton says, "Perhaps that would be another matter..."
- You say with a rough Meropian accent, "Then I would say we have common goals."
- Abderus, a black-robed triton says, "Hmm."
- Your eyes sparkle with amusement.
- Abderus, a black-robed triton says, "A more fruitful conversation than I had
- anticipated."
- Abderus, a black-robed triton says, "You have attracted the notice of such a
- power, Captain Blackheart. It is premature for Him to reveal Himself... but He
- whispers to me that in your heart, you are already His."
- You pause a moment to gather your thoughts.
- Abderus, a black-robed triton says, "We shall see the truth of that, I think... very soon."
- Abderus, a black-robed triton says, "Until then, we have not spoken, Captain."
- Abderus, a black-robed triton inclines his head politely.
- You say with a rough Meropian accent, "Indeed."

- The crew of your ship is now ready to execute another order.
- -- Figurehead : 9540 -30 Cloak
- Rallying the crew, you grab a nearby grappling hook, tying it off, and launch it
- sailing through the air towards a Windcutter named "Soaring Star".
- The crew rushes to the northeast side of the ship and hurls grappling hooks
- towards a Windcutter named "Soaring Star".

- into "Soaring Star".
- The wind rushes past you for a moment, with waters passing below.
- Quarterdeck of Soaring Star.
- The quarterdeck is the command centre of this small vessel. There is no bridge
- as such - just a wheel of highly polished brass and shining lacquered wood which
- stands forward and centre on the deck. The captain and his executive officer do
- their main work (along with the helmsman) from this place, however cramped it
- may be for more than those three. A heavy bait tank stands here, water sloshing
- from its sides. There are 10 shipmates here. Suspended by a long, thickly
- braided cable, a massive diving bell hangs here. Tail swishing agitatedly, a
- black desert stallion stands here regally. Issuing throaty growls that belie his
- size, a Dun Valley wildcat kitten crouches here. A flat structure of wooden
- planks lies here, resembling nothing so much as a scale model of a ship's deck,
- railings and all. Protector Kydin Ath'Dar, Squire of Lady Ferrous is here. He
- wields a deep sea fishing pole in both hands.

- The ocean is nearly at an end here, and the water grows quite shallow.
- You see exits leading north, northeast, east, southeast, south, southwest, west,
- and northwest.
- Sandy beach.
- Sandy and long, gentle waves lap at the edges of the beach. You may LEAVE
- WILDERNESS here.
- You leave the wilderness.
- A circular, windswept isle.
- No life of any kind disrupts the perfect isolation of this isle, a circular ring
- of granite thrust above the turbulent seas. The stone below foot is smooth and
- slick, more akin to a paved road than natural ground, and the geometrically
- perfect circular coast removes any illusions of natural formation; some
- thaumaturgical hand has shaped this land. Unimpeded by the landscape, the
- merciless scourge of the wind whips across the featureless expanse of granite.
- The only feature of any note is a simple temple erected to the north, a stone
- pediment resting atop three mighty pillars. Set in the centre of the pediment is
- a dark circle motif painted a light-swallowing black. The hooded form of
- Abderus, a black-robed triton stands here, hands clasped. Nightfall, Hound of
- Darkness prowls the ground here. Twilight, the Dark Father stands here, flanked
- by the Hounds of Darkness. You may enter the wilderness map from here.
- You see a single exit leading in.
- Daybreak, Hound of Darkness begins to follow Twilight obediently.

- Daybreak-
- Her shoulders man-high, the enormous form of Daybreak, Hound of Darkness stands
- here threateningly, jet-black fur bristling. In movement, the creature flows
- like shadow, silent and slick, the formidable muscles of her haunches rising and
- falling in graceful motion as the hound proceeds on padded feet. A powerful jaw
- displays serried ranks of fang, carious and deadly, while the creature's yellow
- eyes are wise and unforgiving, radiating a cold intelligence far beyond that of
- any mundane beast. Set dead centre in her brow is a red-eye motif burned deep
- into the animal's flesh, indicium of Lord Twilight's mastery of this fell hound.
- The flawless sable of Daybreak's left flank is marred by a pattern of white and
- golden hair rising from her belly, the brighter coloration spreading over her
- pelt like the rising sun.
- Daybreak, Hound of Darkness exudes an aura of overwhelming power.

- Nightfall, Hound of Darkness exudes an aura of overwhelming power.
- Abderus-
- This triton priest is robed in long swathes of black cloth, clasped at his waist
- Twilight, the Dark Father says, "Enter not the Temple without My authorisation."
- You say with a rough Meropian accent, "Understood."
- Twilight, the Dark Father says, "We await the Family of Darkness."
- You sent the following message to ----:
- Keep a sharp eye out.
- ---- glances at ----, and taking queue from her lowers her head as well in silent deference.
- Twilight, the Dark Father says, "Sadly, the Family lacks your sea-wise natures."
- Twilight gives a pained sigh.
- Twilight, the Dark Father says, "That too will have to change."
- Twilight's eyes sparkle with amusement.
- You say with a rough Meropian accent, "I left several sentries aboard the ship keep an eye for trouble."
- Twilight, the Dark Father says, "Your foresight does you credit."
- You sent the following message to ----:
- Let me know right away if you see anything, sea beast, ship or otherwise.
- ---- Arrives.
- ---- Arrives.
- ---- Arrives.
- ---- Arrives.

- ---- Arrives.
- Twilight smiles softly.
- ----'s mouth turns up as her face breaks into a smile.
- Twilight, the Dark Father says, "Greetings."
- ---- lowers her head respectfully.
- Twilight, the Dark Father says, "Then let us speak plain."
- Twilight, the Dark Father says, "The Family of Darkness is here to depose the Lord of the Oceans."
- ----'s mouth turns up as his face breaks into a smile.
- Twilight, the Dark Father says, "Those who escorted Us here may depart if they do not wish to take part in such an endeavour."
- Twilight, the Dark Father says, "No discredit will be done to you in My eyes."
- Twilight raises an eyebrow questioningly.
- ---- says, "Those who wish to stay, Lord?"
- Zulah leans his weight heavily on a crystal-topped ebony cane.
- Twilight, the Dark Father says, "Are welcome."
- Twilight, the Dark Father says, "So be it."
- Twilight, the Dark Father says, "All that has passed these last two centuries, all that was done with Justice and the Hounds... was preparation for this."
- Abderus, a black-robed triton giggles happily.
- Twilight, the Dark Father says, "Patience, my priest."
- Twilight, the Dark Father says, "Soon."
- Abderus, a black-robed triton begins to follow Twilight obediently.
- Twilight, the Dark Father says, "You are on the verge of entering the Temple of the Eye."
- Twilight, the Dark Father says, "Guard yourselves with whatever strength of will remains to you."
- Twilight, the Dark Father says, "And follow."
- You shiver briefly in the cool air, turning at the soft sound of a whisper. He is followed by Abderus, a black-robed triton, Nightfall, Hound of Darkness, and Daybreak, Hound of Darkness.
- The Temple of the Eye.
- The enormous expanse of this temple is covered in ritualistic marking, every
- inch of the wall and floor inscribed with overlaying pentagrams, glyphs, and
- wards of power. Incense wafts from braziers and aspergills hanging from the
- ceiling, suffusing the air with the ecclesiastical scents of sandalwood and
- myrrh. Waves of palpable power pulse from the northern end of the temple where
- the stone circle of the Eye of Proteus is set into the floor. Despite no
- discernible adornment or indicia of puissance, the stone of the Eye seethes with
- might, overwhelming the senses. The Eye is chained to the ground with wreaths of
- Darkness which circle around the stone and bind it to the Temple floor. Kneeled
- around the circumference of the Eye are four black-robed triton priests, the low
- hum of their ritual chants swirling around the room. Knelt equidistant around
- the Eye, four black-robed triton priests are chanting spells of binding. The
- hooded form of Abderus, a black-robed triton stands here, hands clasped.
- Nightfall, Hound of Darkness prowls the ground here. Daybreak, Hound of Darkness

- Triton-
- Each of these triton priests is clad in robes of absolute darkness, the
- unremitting fuliginous hue of their vestments relieved only by a stone circle
- motif on their backs, picked out in lighter grey thread. Knelt equidistantly
- around the Eye of Proteus, the priests murmur ancient spells of binding in
- constant repetition, their gaze never wavering from the stone circle as they
- rock gently back and forth. The lightless wreaths which bind the Eye, caress the
- forms of the triton acolytes lovingly as they flow around the ageless artifact,
- succeeding, moment to moment, in binding it to the Dark Father's will.
- Four triton acolytes appears to be extraordinarily strong.

- Twilight lifts His hands, waves of Darkness spreading from the Dark Father's outstretched fingers and spiralling into the skies.
- Tendrils of darkness rise up from the western seas, spiralling skywards until a roiling pitch-black cloud seethes above the Sefyric Ocean.
- You see Twilight, the Dark Father shout, "It is done, the Eye opens!"
- You see Twilight, the Dark Father shout, "Let it be known from the highest heights to the lowest depths that the Child God-King is deposed, Lord Twilight claims co-dominion of the Seas."
- You see Twilight, the Dark Father shout, "As the Darkenwood is to the forest, let Nocturne's Reach be to the world below."

With Your breach of the Covenant that binds Us all, I no longer find Myself obligated to grant You the same."

Dashed be Justice, a false notion meted out at impetuous whims! Let the lands know mayhem! To Me, My warriors! Let an army be formed!"
